Happy 4th of July. We had a light rain during the night but looks like it will be a nice day for the fireworks tonight. I hope to get out while it is cooler this morning. Yesterday turned out to be very warm and humid. I didnít get out at all. I did walk 50 minutes and had a total of 7,368 steps for the day. I did a few little things around in the house but not much. Breathing is bad during this humidity.

Today is going to be a mix of warm and sunny with thundershowers developing late in the day. It is a little cooler and I opened my windows this morning because I just couldnít stand any more being closed in. I hope the dew point doesnít get much higher or I will have to shut them again. Yesterday was a pretty good day but it was muggy,. I did 45 minutes of walking with 7,526 total steps for the day. I had my pulmonary appointment and did my breathing test and a 6 minute walk test. I then saw the doctor and he is happy with where I am at. No changes and so that was a good report. I then came home and folded a couple loads of laundry that needed folding and got it put away and got the grass clippings and garbage out to the curb for pickup this morning. I did some reading and finished a book and played a few games on my tablet. Good day. Barb brought dinner and we got a chance to talk for a bit and that was nice.

Another week has flown by and it is going to be in the 90ís with dew points in the 70ís. Hot weather for us. Yesterday turned out to be a bad breathing day so took it a little easy. I did 45 minutes of walking and had a total of 5,691 steps for the day. I did some reading and played some games on the table. Not a very productive day. I will work in the house today. Hailley gets a hair cut and I need to get groceries. Will see what else I can get done.

It is going to be sunny this morning after the fog clears. We got about a 1 ĺ inches of rain over the last couple of days and it was very needed. It did play havoc with my breathing and yesterday did nothing but sit and read and watch taped shows. I did only 24 minutes of walking and had 4,651 total steps for the day. Feeling better today and hope that I can get a little done outside while Marshall mows today. I have an area of rock under some of the ground bird feeders that gets a lot of grass weeds that I can pull without getting all muddy so will work on that while he is here.

Richard, good job on the weight loss.

Jane, hope you have a good vacation and you will be missed. It will be quiet here.

my knees were incredibly painful 2 nights in a row
had slow-relaese pain killers just before bed last night,

It is a lovely start to the day with sunshine, light breeze and temperatures are in the 70ís. The dewpoint is low so no humidity. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I got 40 minutes of walking in and a total of 5431 steps for the day. I did get the last of my plants in the ground and did a little weeding and hoeing. I would like to do some more today and I will see how it goes. Hope your day is productive and everything you want it to be.

It will be a little warmer today and a break with a little sunshine. A nice day. Yesterday was just plain cool. It was only 63 for the high and that is cool. I did get 40 minutes of walking in and had a total of 6,421 steps for the day. I did 3 loads of laundry and did a few small chores around the house. I will try to get out and work in the yard today,. A little bit every day is all it takes to make for a good day. Barb and I did dinner her last night and we had a great visit. Kevin and her will go to Kansas tomorrow to visit with some friends. The will return on Saturday afternoon. Sounds like a fun time.

Saw the cancer doctor today and am cleared to travel. I will see him again soon after my return. I am dealing with diabetes now and that is what I am seeing him for as he was the one who caught it.

Going to have a little sunshine today but it looks like there are chances of showers for the next week. It doesnít mean it will rain all week just that there are chances of showers. I like it when a shower pops up and we get rain,. I hope we do get some. Yesterday was cloudy, cool and we had light showers of and on all day. It was a better day for me and I did my 40 minutes of walking and had a total of 6,216 steps for the day. I made a nice pasta and vegetable salad and it tasted so good. I love those salads. I hope to get outside some today and get a little more done. Time will tell. Hope you all have a great day.

The last couple of days have been tough breathing or me with this weather front that is moving through. Yesterday I only got 18 minutes of walking and a total of 3,347 steps for the day. That is okay as today I will strive to do better. I am feeling a little better today so we shall see. I know this is part of my disease so will not be discouraged. Hope you all have a good day today and for all you fathers, Happy Fatherís Day.

Unsettled weather for the next couple of days with chances of thundershowers and rain. It wonít be all bad just when it storms. Yesterday was a different day. I did get most of my plants in the ground and in pots so I am happy about that. I did 32 minutes of walking and had a total of 4,731 steps for the day. I did have a harder time of breathing so that could account for the low step count. I will keep trying,

It is Thursday and I have gotten some things done outside this week and it feels good. I have just about all my plants in the ground and will try to finish in the next couple of days. The weather has been a nice low 70ís which is so good to work in. Yesterday I did 32 minutes of walking and had a total of 5,216 steps for the day. Hope I can keep it up and get the weeding done too before it get too hot. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your weather.

Going to be a lovely day today. It wonít be hot and maybe some afternoon showers. I am going to get out and get something done. Yesterday was a day that I didnít get anything done. I had a hair appointment in the late morning so that shot the good working hours of my day. I sure feel better with the hair cut so that is good. I did my 40 minutes of walking and had a total of 5,621 steps for the day. I put some country pork ribs in the crock pot and that was supper.

Jane - the biggest thing that helped drop my sugar levels was weight loss - and to get that I needed to be very strict with my food intake - eating lots of fresh vegetables, mainly leafy green , and as many colours as possible but not starchy vegetables (potatoes and root vegetables) and to cut out things like bread, cakes biscuits etc!!
Also I needed at least 30 min aerobic exercise a day - and I had to move every hour - even just go for a walk round the house, but move not sit!!
These principals still hold strong today - my A1C is holding between 4.9 and 5.1 and has done so for the last 7 years!!

I was shocked when I took a look at the team - when I was thrown out by Edwards because she could do better - there were 1000 members - now there are 25 - you have only an odd exercise resource and are still going to the moon - after 4 years!!
I'm shocked because the number of handicapped people in society has risen and finances have got harder - yet here there could be a wonderful resource for handicapped people to use free of charge.
I don't know what to do - I could put a lot of resources up - but its more than that - it needs someone to run challenges to stimulate the team - it needs to be made fun for you all - but Edwards is still there - and the leaders don't seem to be very active - but if something isn't done fast the team will die -
and for all the people who need it that would be so sad!!

It is going to get warm again. It will be in the upper 80ís and into the 90ís tomorrow with high humidity. I still havenít got the plants in the ground but have kept them well watered and they are looking good. It is supposed to cool off to the 70ís by Sunday and I will get them in then. I tried to do it today but being out in the hot sun just took my breath away. I am feeling good and yesterday was a good day with 40 minutes of walking and a total of 7,334 steps for the day. I did 4 loads of laundry. It had been two weeks since I last did my laundry so had a lot to do. Glad it is done. I guess Barb and I will get to do dinner tonight. I am glad I will get to see her this week.

You can do it Jane. You have the strength and will power.

The doctor did say to increase the D3, now to get it into my pill boxes.

I have gone back to carefully counting calories as I want off the diabetic meds! Hopefully getting In more exercise will help too.

Donít know what happened yesterday and why my post was a repeat of the day before but things happen. LOL. Yesterday was a tough day with dew points at 69% and temperature at 92. It was hot and humid with a few very light sprinkles. Thank goodness for air conditioning. I did walk for 40 minutes and had a total of 6,623 for the day. I did get my grass clippings out to the curb for pick up today and also watered the plants. I didnít get any planting done. Hopefully today I will. Barb is out of town this week so maybe no dinner unless we do it tomorrow night. I miss my night with here.


I don't take them except for the Vitamin D.

Sharon, the cancer doctor says vitamins are a waste of money.

I got the second lumbar shot today. I am so thankful it did not hurt as the first one did.

Jane, that is a long time so it is really a good job. Sorry that the doctor is unhappy with you. Does he feel the vitamins are causing this weight gain or why does he want you off of them,

Sharon, those 6,000 steps were the first since I broke my ankle in June of 2012 and ended up with some other health issues after that.

I saw the cancer doctor today. He wants me off all vitamins except D3. He is really unhappy that I have gained back some weight.

Here it is a Sunday morning and it is lovely out, The sun is out so bright and temps are cool this morning. It will warm to the mid 70ís and there will be a light breeze. You canít get any better than that. Yesterday was also a beautiful day. I did my 35 minutes of walking and had a total of 6,235 total steps for the day. I did get out and do a little work in the yard and hope to do some more today, Every little bit helps. Marshall mowed and it looks so nice again. I can sure tell that the allergies are getting to me by the coughing and sneezing and the watery eyes. Still lots of tree pollen in the air. Hailley is slowly improving and I can tell she feels better. Well, off to get something done.

It is Saturday and a lovely day. It will be a nice 70 degrees with sunshine and light breeze. I have lots I want to get done. Yesterday was a fair day for me and I did my 35 minutes of walking and had a total of 6,322 total steps for the day. I did get out and do a few little thigs outside and then I did some reading. My neck is still bothering me so donít want to overdo. Every little bit helps. Gave Hailley her bath and the antibiotics are helping. Hope it continues. Got a short visit with Tina and sounds like she has a very hard decision to make regarding her beloved Smidge, a fifteen year old shih Tzu. She is a love but it has come to the time to say goodbye. I feel for her because I know how hard that is.
