Snow shoveling was my exercise yesterday- today my work is closed so I can do my videos for exercise today.
Back on track with my eating-
I didn't go to my meeting last night due to the weather. I lead the meeting next week, it is on "faith and literature"

Hope everyone is doing well.

I am an intellingent person. I will control my emotions and not let my emotions control me. Everytime I am tempted to use food to satisfy my frustrated desires, build up my enjured ego or dull my senses, I will remember...even though I overeat in private, my excess poundage is there for all the world to see.
I will take off pounds sensibly!

So I was tired yesterday and didn't want to exercise, so I didn't. The problem was I was back to my old eating habits. I didn't break my recreational sugar abstinence which is at 20 days.

I will exercise today and get myself back on track.

Have a great week everyone!

SPARKNB I also am in on the 5% winter challenge. I did very well on it last year hoping to do the same this year.
I got a cortisone shot in my right hip the other and it seems to have helped. I will be able to do more exercising now that I won''t be in as much pain. I really like power walking videos but all that pounding on my hip was awful.

I am down 1.4 this week on my way. I am abstinent from sugar since 1/1/18, I feel so good and good about it hope to continue.

Trying to stay warm today 9 below right now.

I have been working my program, mostly via Spark, and also lots of OA phone meetings

1) I started with 20 min exercise minimum, and the last 3 days doing 2 hours (today so far was 70 min shoveling heavy snow, gonna do some spark vids too; emoticon
2) tracking food daily, religiously, so to speak; emoticon
3) OA 90 meetings in 90 days (not nec. daily, but have listened to a lot of 2 hours meetings; shared at one of them; sometimes do exercise, like marching in place type moves while listening); still interested in a sponsor, but because I get a lot of support on Spark, and have both Spark and OA tools, I'm happy to wait to find someone who can deal with me; last year, when a sponsor dropped me, it really derailed my progress, so, I'm not in any rush, as that would be a big change, and working on stasis (somewhat unusual for me, I'm rather irregular and quixotic) and small changes

I'm on a winter5% team, which was what reinforced me to up my activity, since I have SO much to lose: I want a good strong (re)start. I just need to be okay with when I can't do some 2 hour days, and not let THAT derail me. Also, when I stop spending so much time on Spark, just logging food & movement, so I will probably check in here, and blog things like this

Non-food resolutions: 4) organizing weekly emoticon 5) daily code/programming learning emoticon
Done a bit of these, but have been more focused on sparking my changes. But as those become routine, I will be upping the non-food goals; still need to document SMART aspects of all of them too. Okay off I go to code track food, then code, then last 50 min exercise! emoticon

Looking forward to make the Roaring 20's the best decade!! Making it happen!!! Motivation into momentum.
My words-of-the-year: *SMART* (goals) & *evolve* (2018 was persist, 2019 was: *eMbody KIND(/ness) &/ =balance= )

My 2020 goal is TRACKING FOOD to result in a loss of 100 pounds (so 111.20 on ticker, started year 11.2 down from summer 2019)
Jan-Feb fitness goal = PUSH-UPS! Starting with my age (56) wall push-ups....

Today I had an AA meeting than met up with a friend for lunch and great conversation. When I got home I did one of my power walking DVD's using weights.

Track my food and got in my water- good day!

Candy, I am glad you are working your program.

I am also excited about all the post on the team boards- it really helps to know I'm not alone.

Today is my day 5. Once again I go into the break room for lunch and there on the table were large muffins, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate something and a bag of clementines. I sat down eat my lunch and figured I could have a clementine as it was a fruit even though it wasn't on my food plan. I was even asked to split a muffin and I said no. I felt great to be able to say no and it wasn't hard to do.

Now the challenge comes the weekend. Hubby has already suggested going out for ice cream and I told him no that my week has been good and I don't want to blow it.

So glad to see activity on the team!

Today is day 3 of following my action plan. It is true if you work the program you have success.
I was able to pass on donuts at work today and when I went on my lunch break there were still some leftover in there and I didn't even give it a second glance. I have to give credit to my HP who helped me stay strong.

I have had a headache the last couple of days so I looked up head aches and weight loss and I found out that you can get head aches when you eliminate sugar from your diet. I am glad to hear that as I know it will pass as the sugar leaves my body.

Going strong!

I don't do resolutions either, I always fail at them. This year I am just taking it one day at a time and working my program.
I made an action plan and with the help of my HP it is working.

I had my O.A. meeting last night, what a great way to start out the new year.

I don't do resolutions, I prefer to call them goals, and mine at the beginning of this year are the same that I had for the end of the year:

I have an app that I use called List: Daily Checklist

It's on the Play store for Android, not sure if iPhone has it???

I use the app because it's helpful to check things off as I go, it's good for my accountability, and I like trying to get an 80% day. The days are color coded - a red day is less than 60%, a yellow day is 60-79%, and a green day is 80+%. I very rarely get 80+% days, but I am getting more 60's now and I'm okay with that. Even when I get a red day I know I've still made SOME progress, and that's what this is, right? Progress not perfection!

I'm doing monthly & annual resolutions this year, focusing on SMART goals & using rewards. So far daily: 1) 20 min exercise minimum; 2) tracking food daily; 3) 90 in 90

Non-food resolutions: 4) organizing weekly 5) daily code/programming learning

So far, so good!

First goal: to stick to it this month: working on small rewards, tho am thinking I might have weekend going out rewards:

I ready to take the steps. This year I will attend meetings, find a sponsor and do as I'm told.

Thank you to the OA Spark team for always being here to support me and each other.

Happy New Year to a great team! Like most of us, we want to start the new year right. We have goals, plans, resolutions and hope. This year, I would like to take the opportunity to have a non criticizing year. This month, let us focus on what we can do instead of what we can't. I know for me, I can get stuck in the rut of why thing aren't working but that can lead to a pity party. Instead, I would like to focus on what triggers we removed. What food pantry is "Just Ours" and what we are going to fill it up with to heal ourselves. I want to journal our feelings because this helps us put ourselves first. We truly cannot give of ourselves if our well is empty. We fill it with our HP and self love. Self love doesn't make room for criticism. If you need a spiritual uplifting...read the good book whether that is the AA book or Bible. It's tailored for you. We are all in this together, This will never be a team of one. I cannot do it without you and wouldn't want to . Your stories and sharing INSPIRE me. emoticon
