For dinner last night I was very mindful of my choices and my eating. Went out for sushi for GS's birthday. Chose to eat one of each variety. Ordered plain rice as a side and had iced green tea. Ate slowly and thoughtfully.

Following a meeting with my therapist, we launched a plan to eat slowly and mindfully this week. The changes have been amazing. First, I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted and all day long. AND I have been eating everso small pieces of highly nutritious food through out the day.

The benefit for me: -- I no longer feel "deprived"--I tell myself that I am eating all day long.
--I enjoy the sensuous pleasure of eating, tasting, feeling the food in my mouth, playing with food....

The result: --a whole new attitude toward food
--eating much less
--savoring what I eat
--actually losing weight this week!

yes- so far. Though I am quite hungry when following my meal plan.

It may be time to change plans. I see my doctor tomorrow and will discuss.

I want to do other things right now- I want to start working (I have the day off today) but instead I ate mindfully. It's amazing the pull of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to take me away from focusing on what and how I'm eating.

I really like this forum and reading what everyone posted.

My first goal is to loose 10% of my starting weight. Baby steps.

Yesterday was a bad day for me. Today was much better. I think I get distracted when I am home all day alone. I need to get out more often!
