24 weeks. . .truly miraculous. They spent 4 months in the NICU, and last week marked the point at which they'd been home longer than they had been in the hospital. It still amazes me how strong they are.

34 weeks! Fraternal boys, A was 6lbs 5oz and B was 4lbs 7oz, they only spent 2 and 2.5 weeks in the NICU, not too bad! The pregnancy and delivery were the worst though :)

My girl/boy twins were born at 34/6. Tay was 5 lbs 6 oz. Hunter was 4 lbs even. They turned 7 on May 22nd and are the tallest kids in their class. Aside from Hunter's anaphalactic peanut allergy (diagnosed at age 2) and asthma which he gets from me, they're super healthy, smart and so very funny. emoticon
It does get easier as they get older (or at least you are a bit more rested).

I got really lucky with my pregnancy. I already have a 8 and 9 year old so this was baby # 3 and 4. At 2 months I had a minor car accident but still wanted to be checked and I found out then I was having twins. They were fraternal with 2 placentas and a wall between them. Because both their heads were down and twin A was lower than twin B I was able to go natural. The pregnancy was going really well til the last 2 weeks before I was induced. Then twin A shifted and I had problems swelling up and with walking because of the pressure. As soon as I hit 37 weeks I went in for my induction. Drs insisted on epideral so that if twin B moved and was no longer head down after twin A was born they could reach up and move twin B without me feeling anything.

Labour was 12 hours which was a lot longer than my previous 2. Liam was born weighing 6lbs 12 oz and 9 minutes later Zander was born weighing 6 lbs 5 oz. I had no trouble delivering and no stitches. I got to go home in less than 48 hours with only the pain of the epideral injection site.

Boys struggled first week and a half with weight gain but have been doing well since. They will be a month old this Thurs = ]

My identical girls were born at 34 weeks exactly. My water broke at 4am and they were born at 8:04 and 8:06am via c-section. Baby A was 3 lbs 13 and Baby B was 5 lbs 4. They had TTTS and probably would have been taken with in the week if we hadn't gone on our own that morning.

My fraternal twin boys were born just over 5 weeks early. Chandler was 5 lb 1 oz. Tyler was 4 lb 11 oz. Chandler was on oxygen for 1 day. And they were both in the NICU for 9 days, mostly because they needed to learn how to eat. They had feeding tubes in their noses.

I took a pregnancy test because I was so nauseous. And it only got worse from there. I couldn't eat anything for most of the pregnancy. And if I did manage to force something down, I threw it up. After I lost 30 pounds and had been hospitalized twice, they had to put in a PICC line for nutrition. Other then that, the pregnancy was perfect. The boys were growing good. My blood pressure was good. I was on modified bed rest starting at about 3 months, but I didn't mind. I worked at home anyway, so I just moved my work to the couch. Then, one morning, I woke up with horrible pain in my back. I didn't know if it was back labor or what. I had been having BH for months. So off to the hospital we went. I was not in labor. But my doctor ordered some tests because of my pain, even though the nurses wanted to send me home. My husband and mom went to work so as not to waste a day off we would want later. And I suffered through the tests. And then the bottom dropped out. My blood pressure skyrocketed out of nowhere. Luckily my husband was already almost back to the hospital. The doctor came within minutes and explained they had to do an emergency c-section NOW. And there was no time to try to induce. My husband made it just in time and off to surgery we went. I had an epidural and I got to see my baby boys. And that's the last coherent thought I have for 4 days. I was in the ICU with severe HELLP syndrome. And I never knew how close I came to dying until after I was released from the hospital a week later.

My boys were born 10 weeks early. They both weighed 4 lbs 3 oz. They spent 7 weeks in the hospital before coming home.I had an abrupted placenta and had to be rushed to the hospital. Once there they checked and both boys were breached and I had to have an emergency c-section. My pregnancy had been rough bc I couldn't keep any food down and kept losing weight no matter how hard I tried. I didn't gain a bunch of weight until after they were born and were in the hospital. Now they are 19 months old and as healthy as can be

I had my twins b/g at 35 wks 6 days. I had a fairly easy pregnancy for twins, but towards the end i started feeling so tired and kept saying, "i want to have them already!" its alot to carry around every day. so one morning i hadnt felt them kick at all and was like "maybe i should go in. i might get lucky and the doctor will tell me they are ready to be delivered (via c-section)." thats exactly what happened. then i started freaking out (hormones) and decided i wasnt ready. i was scared. ( ive had a c-section before and it was a very easy one, so i dont know why i was scared) but i had the best doctor ever and everything went perfect. they were perfect and had no problems after delivery and we all went home 4 days later!

I had twins boys when I was 16...I had them 7 days early...It was the easiest birth ever I had both them natural...My grandpa said I was going to have twins because I basically raised my lil twin boy cousin...He said since I was so good doing that..God new I could handle more then one...Well I went in for my first ultrasound and there was 2 lil peas...Everyones always like how did you do it I bet its so hard having 2 at once...But really it was pretty easy they did everything at the same time...They are now 8 and I have a lil 2yr old princess...That's my story..:)

I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks and at that time there were 3 sacs, only one had a yolk so they weren't sure exactly how many I would be having. They had me come back at 9 weeks and there were 2. I was admitted to the hospital 6 days before I had them due to high blood pressure. They ran tests to make sure I wasn't pre-eclamtic. All of the tests came back fine and was discharged the next day. 5 days later my water broke. I delivered my b/g twins via c-section, due to one being breech and the other transverse. I was 35 weeks 5 days. They were taken to the regular nursery but were transferred to the NICU that evening because they couldn't keep their own body temperature up. They spent 9 days there. I ended up having complications after the delivery and had to stay in the hospital 6 days. I started hemmorhaging and they talked about doing another surgery and giving me a transfusion because of my blood loss. Then after they got that corrected they couldn't get my bp down. They told me I was in the stroke zone with my bp! My son, RJ was 5 lbs 4 oz and my daughter, Lisa was 4 lbs 6 oz. They will be 4 months on Saturday and RJ weighs 13 lbs and Lisa is at 11 lbs.

My b/g twins were born at exactly 37 weeks by c-section. We had picked the day specifically and it was a good thing that we liked it. Dr had to deliver them, became preeclamptic.

She was 5 lbs 8 oz 18 1/4 long and he was 5 lbs 6 oz. 18 1/2 long.
They'll be 15 months old!

I had spontaneous triplets at 26 weeks. We found out about twins at 11 weeks and at 12 weeks they found #3! I was shocked because we were not even trying to get pregnant! At 15 weeks I found out I was having two boys and a girl. At 16 weeks I found out my baby girl was sick. It broke me. They said she had only 2 weeks to live but she made it to June 16th which was 24 weeks. The boys were born 11 days later. My body rejected her. I thank God every day that she lived so long.I also believe she saved her brothers. If they would have been born earlier they wouldnt be with me now. They were 2.10 and 2.11 lbs. Now almost 10 lbs. One spent exactly 2 months in the NICU and the other was 3 months and a day. Just got the second home two weeks ago. :-)

We also have a 10 and 7 year old.

Mine were 32 weekers. They had been POSITIVE that they didn't need to believe me that I would be delivering soon and decided that they would keep me a couple of weeks then send me home to deliver at my local hospital so they moved me to postpartum until then. Say the least the nurses freaked out when I started having pushing contractions in the postpartum ward, especially since I HAD to have a C-section because twin B was transverse AND had already known about kidney problems while twin A was butt breach. They wouldn't have worried as much had twin B been head down or butt breach and not had kidney problems, but the kidney problems had them worried if he would make a stressful delivery.

Wasn't there a recent case in the Netherlands of a couple that was doing in-vitro (with non-donated sperm) -- but the clinic messed up with the implantation and they ended up with two boys, one black and one white? Fortunately, as I recall, they rolled with it (tho they might have also sued the clinic).

But I was actually thinking of a situation in which the mother has sex with two men in short order. Think I read about that possiblity in a Twin magazine I subscribed to back when I was pg.

Thank G-d I really went far with them. I never considered that the youngest of the triplets could have been conceived later until their ped. was doing a well baby and he could tell by looking at them that he was "younger" than the other two. And then I remembered that he had had the fuzz on his cheeks (he looked like a little grandpa! with just a little hair on the sides of his head and this fuzz on his cheeks!)

never heard of different fathers though. (how would t hat work? with donor sperm?)

Wow Shosh, hadn't realized that you went to over 36 weeks -- isn't that almost unheard of for triplets? And nice hefty weights for triplets too!

I've heard of multiples being conceived at different times. I've even heard of multiples having different fathers -- obviously not in either of our cases though!

I'm also a triplet mom. My pregnancy was about as easy as can be expected for a triplet pregnancy. I was never on bedrest but my body pretty much put me on bedrest because I could barely walk around outside. It took me three times as long to walk anywhere by the time I was maybe 26 weeks pregnant. But I had no early contractions or any complications, thank G-d.

2 days before my scheduled c-section on Friday night my water broke. Friday nights are traditionally spent in my house not driving, not turning on lights (we keep them on for 24 hours or have timers) and experiencing something we call Shabbos but that Shabbos I went to Mount Sinai hospital in Manhattan and had my trio at 7:14, 7:15 and 7:15 in the morning. It was a girl and two boys. My girl was 5lbs and the boys were 4 lbs 10 oz each. They were born at 36 weeks and 2 days.

Strangely enough one of them (baby c) was probably conceived later than the other two. He came out with fuzz on his cheeks and with a strange condition where he wasted his salt, thus causing his sodium to be too low and his potassium to be high (which can be dangerous for the heart) and he ended up leaving the hospital with everyone else 5 days later only to reappear in another hospital the following evening and he didn't come home until 6 weeks later. I think it must have been a developmental issue. What I really do is thank G-d that he's outgrown it!

We also have an older daughter who just turned 5, thank G-d.

We found out at 8 weeks we were having twins. My OB did the u/s because of the great possiblity with my family history and age.

I was very very lucky and did not have any complications or restrictions during my pg. They were born at 39 weeks exactly after my water broke. After 40 hours of labor they did a c/s (long story about an to pain meds.. made me go backward in dialation). They were 5lbs 14 oz and 7lbs 2oz. Both healthy and no time in NICU.

emoticon emoticon Hi everyone! My little ducks, Elizabeth (5lbs 12oz) and Isabel (3lbs 2oz) were born 6 1/2 weeks early due to complications. (TTTS) They are 5 now and doing wonderfully! We also have an 8 year old daughter Ryan who will be turning 9 very soon! It was a looooooooong (not long enough medically, but physically.. whoo!) and hard pregnancy and I thank God that my girls made it through all that ok.

Howdy Everybody!

My husband and I found out that we were pregnant w/twins at our 8 week ultrasound appointment. Needless to say we were shocked b/c we have no twins in the family and we have gone back 11 generations on both sides. I always state that God gave me two b/c it took me five years to finally tell the hubby, "Ok, let's start trying". God didn't know when I was going to try again for number two, so he took care of both them on the first try.

I had no complications but left work early b/c I wanted to enjoy my last trimester. So, the doctor filled out my Short Term disability form and I went home and relaxed. My doctor wanted me to deliver at 38 weeks, but that was when she was on vacation. Well, the kids decided that they wanted to come at 36 weeks and 5 days. Close enough! They were both head down so we were able to have a vaginal birth. YES! We were all in the hospital for only 2 days. To this day, they are both very healthy children. Thank you God!

It has been the best 2-3/4 years EVER! I can't believe that they are about to turn 3! ::wiping eyes:: My little babies are growing up.

I had my Girls 4 weeks early. The pregnancy was an easy one and like some of you a complete (and natural) surprise! I worked all the way up until the week prior to delivery - we all came home 3 days later. It was and still is an amazing experience.

Wow, this brings back memories and reminds me how fortunate we were and are. We found out we were expecting twins early on when my Ob/Gyn heard 2 heartbeats. I had an uneventful pregnancy but put on a lot of weight and looked pretty much like a circus freak show by the time I popped at 35 weeks. My water broke while I was sitting at my desk at work (causing a bit of a stir) and a few hours later, Dalia and Shira were born by repeat C-section (no surprise, unlike the first time around). They were 5 lb 6 oz and 5 lb 11 oz, and very healthy.

They just turned 5 a few days ago and big sister Ilana's about to turn 9. The three of them decided to have one big birthday party at the local ice skating rink this Sunday. Hmmm, wonder how many minutes of cardio I'll rack up... Anyway, wish us luck and especially no major inuries!

We had our boys without even trying, it was kind of like... surprise your going to be a mother of twins! But they run highly in my family and in his. We found out at 7 1/2 weeks we were having twins, and they were diagnosed as Mono Mono twins. Which was misdiagnosed. But at the next ultrasound we did find out that they were identical. My boys were born on October 5th 2007. They were born at 27 weeks and 6 days weighing in at 2 lbs 2 ounces and 1 lb 14 ounces and they were both 13 inches long. Our identical twin boys suffered from TTTS so that is why they came so early. http://aidenandnathaniel.blogspot.com That is their whole story if you would ever like to take a look :)

My husband and I found out, to our surprise, I was pregnant 7 mos. after my first baby (son) was born. I found out it was a twin pregnancy during an u/s around 11 weeks. I almost fell off the table and had to call my husband from the cell phone on the way home. I had an uneventful pregnancy and had no restrictions placed upon me. Besides feeling tired, sore, and huge (who knew the skin could stretch that much), I did pretty well. Despite my requests for a c-section delivery at 37 weeks, my doctor held out for 39+ weeks. My identical boys had ideas of their own and my water broke at 35+ weeks in the middle of the night. They were delivered by c-section and each weighed exactly 6lbs. 15oz. They did not spend any time in NICU and came home with us after a 4 day stay in the hospital. The twins are now 3 and their older brother is 4 and each one of them is a blessing!

HI All!

Wow! Some pretty wild and scary stories. As for us, after 5 years we finally conceived with fertility help and IUI. At 7wks we found out we were having triplets, at 23wks I was put on bed rest and delivered 12 weeks early @ 28wks 1d. Baby A(Gretchen)was 2.4, Baby B(Kaelyn) was 2.12 and Baby C(Tanis) was 2.7, they spent 10 weeks in the NICU, they will be 5 in July and every year on their Birthday we visit the NICU. The Dr's & Nurses love it and always pull out their 1st picture when the were born and put their new picture next to it in the nursery's photo album. The week after the Trips original due date I found out I was PG again, and had Ryan via c-section 2 days before the Trips 1st birthday.

We found out at about 8/9 weeks that we were having identical twins - it was quite a shock to me, but not to my husband, who wanted twins. I had a perfect pregnancy, no best rest, no problems.. and my water broke out of the blue when I was 34 weeks and 1 day along. I had no idea what was going to happen that night.. we went out car shopping that afternoon and I even went out shopping that night while my husband was at a bachelor party. Well I was supposed to be picking him up anyways, and when I was on my way I had to give him the news that we weren't going home afterwards and were instead going to the hospital.

I wasn't contracting so they gave me pitocin. At about 11:00 AM on 10/7/07, I started pushing, but after 2 hours, little Madeline didn't want to go any further so they decided to do a c-section. Maddie came first at 2:58 PM weighing 5 lbs, 2 oz and Alexandra (Aly) was second a minute later weighing 5 lbs 3 oz. They were doing great and I had a great recovery. Aly stayed in the special care nursery for 11 days to learn to eat and Maddie stayed in for 12 days for the same thing. We were so lucky they didn't need anything else and were able to thrive so well considering they were only 34 weeks.

And now, almost 9 months later, I look at them and it's so hard to believe they were ever that small!

I found out at my first ultrasound, at about 9 weeks, that I was having twins. Imagine my surprise when I didn't think I could even get pregnant, let alone have 2 of them! lol

My twins, Adrea and Brandon, were born at 37 weeks 3 days via c/s. I was scheduled for a c/s on Friday, but they decided to make an early appearance on Monday morning! Actually, I started having back pain on Sunday evening and when I finally called the on-call OB in the early, early hours on Monday and told him, he said for me to come on into the hospital so they could check me. I was dilated 3cm so they decided to go ahead with the c/s that morning. Adrea was born at 7:20 am and weighed 4 lbs. 5 oz. and her brother, Brandon, followed 1 minute later weighing 4 lbs. 11 oz. None of us had any complications and both babies got to go home with me that Thurday night.

I know how blessed I am to have 2 beautiful, healthy children. I was worried throughout the pregnancy because of so many issues: my weight, my age, high blood pressure, stress in my life, etc. Every week when I'd go in for checkups, my OB was amazed that I'd had no sign of early labor. I worked full time up to my 34th week. My OB had informed me at my first appointment once we found out I was carrying twins that he would probably have to put me on bed rest by my 7th month. It never happened! And my blood pressures, which is normally hard to control, was perfect throughout the entire pregnancy and didn't start to rise again until 2 days after they were born.

They are most definitely the best and most amazing thing that has ever happened to my life. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how much I love them and how much I was missing before they came into my life.

I went into labor & also had placenta abruptia at 32 weeks 2 days. Stayed in the hospital on magnesium & I had the girls via vaginal birth at 33 weeks. They were 7 weeks early and weighed 3 lbs. 7 oz. and 4 lbs. Both stayed 5 weeks in the NICU. Born 4/29/06 came home 6/5/06.

I had IVF so we knew pretty early that both eggs took. I also had ovarian hyperstimulation and was very very ill & in the hospital for a week shortly after they placed the eggs in me. That was a horrible experience!

I found out that we were having twins at my 1st doctor appt at 7 weeks. My husband always says that were were Suprised but not Shocked. My mom said it was twins and I didn't believe her. I was doing really great with the pregnancy up until week 32. That's when I started to gain a lot of weight (94 pounds total weight gain) and noticed some leaking. My doctor admitted me to the hospital and my kids were born via emergency c-section at 33 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and toxemia. I gained 8 pounds in 6 hours. My daughter Thyme weighed 4-14 and my son Drake weighed 4-15. Drake was in the NICU for 3 weeks and Thyme for 4. They didn't have anything wrong, they just couldn't stay awake to eat enough. There is no telling that they were preemies. They are bigger than most kids their age and are very smart...

I loved being pregnant...I gained 20 pounds with my twins and went down 2 bra sizes. And 2 weeks after delivery, I was down 10 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight.

I found out I was having twins at 8 weeks, because I kept hearing the word twins, I "faked" some cramping so I could have an ultrasound. So much for ruling it out. No family history of twins, just an overweight mom over 35 (just found out that weight may have something to do with twins). My boys were born at 35 weeks and generally healthy at 6 lbs 12 oz and 6 lbs 6 oz.

I had to have a c-section because of high blood pressure and my pressure didn't drop after delivery.

My boys will be 2 in September...waht a ride it has been.

I learned I was having twins at six weeks along. I had a gush of blood so we had an emergency sonogram.

I had IVF...they put in two and I knew I would get two out. I just KNEW! So I wasn't surprised at all. Unlike my husband.

I had a great pregnancy. I was teaching high school at the time and things were going well. I even directed two plays along the way and traveled on the bus with the kids several times. The doctor put me on "house arrest" at 30 weeks, just to be safe. I called it house arrest...I had to be at home, but not in bed. I was allowed to stand for as long as I could stand it...to shower or fix a meal (although I didn't make it through meals very often). I could leave the house every other day for an hour at a time. So I could go out to dinner to break up the monotony of the house and I could go to church, which was just next door.

The kids were born at 37 weeks because my doctor had to go to a conference and he didn't want me to go into labor while he was gone. I had a c-section because my daughter was breech. But she flipped every week so we didn't know when we got to the hospital if they would induce or give me a c-section. They did a sonogram at the hospital and saw that she was still breech=c-section.

They were beautiful and healthy. My son was 6lbs4oz and my daughter was 4lbs15oz. I probably could have gone up to 40 weeks and made them bigger, but we were trying to be safe.

We had to stay in the hospital for the week because my daughter had trouble regulating her own body temp. But she stayed in the room with us. All was well.

Ifs can become reality.

I was very fortunate to deliver my girls at 37 weeks exactly. I was induced then because one baby was measuring much larger than the other. I was watched very closely for TTTS throughout my pregnancy, but didn't have any problems until the very end. Emma weighed 6lbs 2 oz and Anna weighed 4lbs 11 oz.

I guess I am one of very few that found out real late! I found out at 21 weeks that we were expecting twin girls!! They were conceived naturally... at 5 weeks when my pants didn't fit I thought MAYBE, but put it at the back of my mind, the 4yr old neighbor girl told me at 7 weeks I was HUGE it must be twins... her mom yelled at her that it was rude... then when I asked her what she thought I was having she said 2 baby girls! lol.

The reason I didn't push for an early ultrasound was I was measuring normal... & my step sister got big fast with her 2nd... they warned her twins was possible but she just had one! At 17 weeks I thought it was weird that I was getting kicked so high up... it seemed odd :)

Anyways the reason WHY I was measuring normal was I have a tilted uterus... We just figured it popped forward faster because it had done it before. Anyways I got HUGE... no complications & out of the house daily. The last weekend I was prego was memorial day of 2007 & I went shopping at the outlets... I developed cankles that day & weekend, but that was it. I have pictures at 5'3" I did NOT look prego from behind, but I stuck straight out.

Anways the day after labor day (I promised my ex's boss I would wait until AFTER the holiday weekend & I did :) ) Anyways on May 29th I started having regular contractions... the first real ones I had... this was 34w6d! I went to the hospital to be monitored... I got there & they said, 'your not in labor, we already had one set of twins today', this is a small hospital that delivers 1 maybe 2 sets a year! Anyways I had one baby before... I knew I was in labor. They were amazed that I was having them every 2 minutes but only really felt the hard ones every 10 minutes. Then... dilated to 3 & fully contracting in labor my girls decided that they wanted to fight over their names... who every came out first was gonna be Baylie 2nd Carlie.

They flipped complete positions at least 3 times they took ultrasounds over the day. Finally they said I could give a go if one of them would stay down, but with how overly active they were there was a 66% chance I would end up in an emergency c-section. I looked at the doc & said, cut me open!

Baylie arrived at 7:38PM at 5lbs 9oz 18.5" & 2 minutes later the doc finally dragged out Carlie at 7:40PM (12hrs exactly after the 2nd twin of the other set that day) weighing 5lbs 11oz. 18.75". They were 5 weeks & 1 day early. After their birth I developed pre-e... so we all stayed for 8 days... but the girls could have come home after 4 days.

The other set of twins born that day were born at 35w & were 1 lb & 1.5 lbs smaller!

They are now 1 & in the 25% for their weight & height 95% for their head all for birth age. Which is higher then their brother who was full term & average size. For their gestation they are in the 50% & over 100%.

My first set(boys) were 6wks early. Labor was induced due to toxemia they weighed 4lbs 2oz and 3lbs 14 oz via vaginal delivery. They spent 2wks in NICU.
My second set (boy/girl) were 4wks early via scheduled c-section due to toxemia and 1 breech baby. They weighed in at 5lbs 2oz and 4lbs 11oz. And amazingly no NICU they went straight to the regular nursery! What a relief!

I had my boys at 34wks exactly!
My water broke early, and my home hospital transferred me to another hospital which was an hour away from my home.

I had an emergency c-section and Mike weighed 5pounds 4oz, and Cristian was 4pounds 13oz.

they stayed in the NICU for 2weeks, they just needed to learn how to eat.

Mine were 34 weeks, and were 5.7 and 4.9 lbs. Compared to my other kids they were sooooo small (of course the otherw were 9 pounders). They spent 20 days in th NICU, but now they are great. Today they turn 10 months, and Diego is already walking alone, and Fernando is cruising, but can climb stairs. So no rest for me!!! I just love them

My girls were 4 weeks early and weighed 4.11 and 4.2. They spent two nights in NICU with no real problems. When they came home the smaller one was 3.14. Seems so small now!

I went into early labor at 32 weeks but they got it stopped and I was on bedrest in the hospital for a couple of weeks. I had mine at exactly 35 weeks via emergency c-section. One was 5-3 and the other was 4-10. We only spent three days in the NICU and got to go home.

My boys were born May 17th 2003. I was on partial bedrest from 3 months on and then full from 7 months and threw up daily until the boys were born. They arrived at 37 1/2 weeks.I was told to go to the hospital to be induced, we arrived at 4:30pm Friday and then 8:20am Saturday my 1st angel came and weighed in at 4lb 12oz. I only got to kiss him and he was rushed up to the NICU.My 2nd angel decided to take a nap and came out 2hrs and 55 minutes later and he weighed in at 6lb 10oz. No drugs given , not even IV. Had 9hrs of surgery on my kidney and had my Urethra transplanted and Solis muscle relocated in 2000 and I had trouble with my pressure. Had 3 days of blood transfusions 3 days after surgery, I coded but came through. So I was told in case a C-sec was necessary, no drugs. Only blood on hand for transfusion and glad I never had a C-sec because they would have put me out completely. And now I have to beautiful boys and love them with everything I have and all my heart. They also were through IVF, 1st try was a success. Too much scar tissue from my surgery attatched to my tubes.

My girls were born via planned c-section at 37 weeks exactly (IVF, I knew the exact date of conception) and were 4-13 and 5-13. They had me hooked up to the monitors for a few hours before, because there were a couple of emergencies ahead of me, and the nurses told me that I was in early labor and I hadn't even realized it. They told me they thought I would've been in within 24-48 hours without the section.

I had my twin boys at 36 weeks. Dalton weighed only 3lbs. and Dylan weighed 6lbs. I had to have a C-section. Dalton had apnea and stayed in the hospital 12 days longer. Both boys are healthy now and doing well. Give your twins a hug for me.

Well, the boys were natural. I didn't find out until I was 12 weeks along that we were having twins! I had a great pregnancy and was put on full time bedrest on August 1. 15 days later, on August 16th, I was induced at 8am. I was 37 weeks exactly. By 1pm I was fully dilated and at 3:15 and 3:20pm, I pushed Shaun and Andrew outta me (sorry - TMI). Shaun weighed 7lbs, 4oz and was 20.5 inches long and Andrew was 6 lbs, 2 oz and 19.5 inches. Have to brag a little bit about this, no tearing, at all.

My babies were born at 36 weeks exactly. Sydney was 5 lbs 14 oz and Peyton was 5 lbs 13 oz.

Sbirby13 - Landon and Addison were really good size for twins. that's awesome - I knew I had no more room, had i gotten any bigger I think I would have busted at the seams..... now I have a seam since I had a C Section... guess I'm destined for another C Section if we decide on any more babies

I had my twins at 38 1/2 weeks by scheduled C-section. Girl was 5 lbs & Boy was 5 1/2 lbs. They wanted to take them at 35 weeks but I insisted on carrying my twins to full term since I was perfectly healthy. I only made it another 3 1/2 weeks.

The Doctors were affraid to let me go to 40 weeks because I was over 30, carrying twins, and they were my first pregnancy. I went through appointment after appointment after app... Twice a week to be exact. From 26 weeks on up to term. On my last appointment, my Doctor decided that they were going to deliver by sceduled c-section. And 4 hours later (unprepared, with bag at home & a panic struck husband) I met my babies.

Hi Everyone! My identical twin boys were born at 32 weeks. I had IUGR (Inter Uterine Growth Restriction), but the doctors were great and I was able to have Steroid shots a few days before they were born and they didn't need any lung support! Gavin and Ethan are now 3 years old and busy as ever. The past two doctor check up and they have weighed the exact same!
Remember there is always tomorrow!
God Bless!

WOW - some great stories!

My boys were born naturally at 40 weeks. "A-Man" was 7lbs, "Mr. T" was 6lbs 14oz. I went from a 32 inch waist to a 56 inch waist and made it to 211lbs!!

One of my doctor's kept wanting to induce - for my sake - but I wouldn't let him. My sister had come in from Brazil about a month earlier to help me with babies and play with their big sister, and they still weren't here! So, we went to go see Little Feat in concert, hoping that would get them moving... no deal. I went for long walks, swam laps, ate spicey food.... nothing would bring them before they were ready!

Anyway, my sister had to go to PA for a night - and what do you know - that's the night the boys decide to show up!! It took a total of an hour and 45 minutes for me to go from "Honey, I think tonight might be the night - I feel a little off" to the birth of two beautiful boys! The first even beat my doctor into the delivery room!!

The whole thing is a crazy story that I think even the nurses will be talking about for a long time. The boys are now 11 months and it is time for me to get up and start moving.... even if it is just so I can keep up with them and their 5yr old sister!

Arrrgghhh! I wish I had time to read all these posts, but it's getting late. I'll have to come back. :)

My twins were conceived with Clomid and IUI. I only had 2 ova on the pre-IUI ultrasound, but they both "took"! At 7 weeks we found out it was twins. I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy. I had some swelling, but nothing too bad, and the babies never had a problem. I started having some contractions at 34 weeks, but never dilated, and when I developed pre-eclampsia at 36 weeks they took the babies by emergency C-section. Amelia was 5lb4oz and Edson was 5lb. They never had to go into NICU, thank goodness.

Edited to add: They will be 4 in just a few weeks, I can hardly believe it!

Due to my existing medical conditions it was difficult to get pregnant so we did the Intra Uterine Insemination and at 40 days pregnant we learned we were expecting quads (4 babies!) Also due to my medical condition and the status of the 4 babies I was advised to go through fetal reduction.

Once that was completed my pregnancy was fairly easy - no complications. They were both breach - head-to-head (still are butting heads too!) and we scheduled a c-section at 37.5 weeks. Our son was 6lbs and our daughter was 5lbs 8 oz. and were both healthy!

We feel so blessed that we have healthy children and while the decision to have the fetal reduction was the hardest thing I've EVER had to do I can honestly say that it was the best thing for my children - I gave them the "best start" I could.

Nancy

I've been on a diet for 1 month and all I lost is 31 days!

The Dr. took my g/b twins at 39 weeks. I wasn't showing ANY signs of labor and the Dr figured it would be best to take then a week early and wait and we all become disstressed!!! I had a C-Section. My daughter was 1st weighing 6.0 and then my son 6.6 who needless to say...didn't want to come out. When the Dr. went to get him he started to come out 1 leg and 1 arm!!! I can remember hearing her saying no, no, no lets put him back in and try to turn him around!!!! I knew that she was NUTS!!!!!!! After all of the pushing and turning....it DIDN'T work!!!!! He ended up being breach!!

Hope I can respond to this post: I had triplets, so I guess it's expected that I'd deliver a bit earlier than the typical twin pregnancy.

My triplets were delivered at 23 wks 3 days. I did IVF, so the dates are absolutely 100% correct. We always refer to the little ones in birth order, so if it looks odd that I refer to them as b/g/b instead of g/b/b/ or b/b/g... that's why...

Dominic weighed 1 lb. 6 oz. at birth. Josie was 1 lb. 7 oz. and Christian was 1 lb. 8 oz. They were born May 1, 2005. Josie came home on their due date (Aug. 25). Dominic came home on Sept. 5, and Christian came home on Sept. 7.

Mine were finally taken via c secton ant 39 weeks 1 day weighing in at 8 lbs 11 oz and 8 lbs 3 oz. I would have been pregnant forever. I did not even dialate to 1.

Ooh I thought I should add. My twins were naturally conceived. No drugs. I knew I was pregnant with twins at about 8 weeks.. Just a gut feeling. My doc thought I was crazy until he finally did an ultrasound at 14 weeks. so thats when it was confirmed. Crazy..
