So including today's ride I have 15.5 hours in Not gonna make the 21 I was hoping for, but given the weather and my schedule (with being gone to conference for a few days), it's not too bad!

I did about 1.5 hours ride on Tuesday so now be up to 9 hrs. Between heat wave this week and conference next week, it will be doubtful to make this goal, but I will do as much as I can!

Yes I am leaving a week from Monday and gone three nights. I haven't been to this one before. The resort last year had lots of paved roads to ride on. I only have a road bike, so won't be doing any trails. It's usually a pretty good conference. It's our state summer conference for Community Action agencies in Michigan.

I think I cheated a little on my total as I have one short ride that I did before the Tour started. So really it is only 7.5 hours. But I am planning to ride with the bike club today so maybe another hour then.

Have you been watching the Tour? I have only seen bits and pieces of it, but have all the stages on the DVR.

Ooh, yes, some of the best mountain biking I've done was on the summer trails of a ski resort. Have a great conference!

According to Strava, I am now at 8 hrs 15 minutes. Not too bad, but is supposed to be getting hot in the next few days, which is not too my liking for riding. Then the following week I will be at a conference, but since it is at a ski resort, I am taking my bike and hoping there are some places to ride.

Well I have gotten so far as setting my DVR to record stages of the Tour, but hadn't really thought about doing a challenge. That is a good idea though! I looked and it runs from July 6-28 so just a touch over 3 weeks for the 21 stages.

I think I am going to challenge myself to ride 21 hours in that time period, 1 hour for each stage. That should be doable for me this time of year, although perhaps a little bit of a stretch. Strava says that I average a little over 5 hours a week riding but that is for the whole year so far. I would guess that average is higher in the last couple months.

For my rides yesterday and today I am at 4.75 hours so off and running (or should I say riding?)!

I usually give myself some kind of biking challenge during the Tour de France, but this year I'm going to be out of town and away from my bike for half of it. Anybody else come up with a fun way to honor the tour this year?
