Not many steps this weekend.. but some good times with my wife and 14 year old pooch.

Picnic on Saturday
We drove 3 hours there.. sat for 4 hours and then drove back home.
Dalhousie is giving us that look.

So not a tekkie.......my granddaughter synced my fit bit for me and whenever I have a problem she fixes it for me..


As to adding people to your group there should be a button that says "join this group/team" for them to click on.

I started a Fitbit group... but I can't see how to add people from either my friend list there on Fitbit or just putting in their fitbit addy. It brings up a place where I send them email invites... I really don't want to be giving out my email... let alone asking for theirs. Does anyone know how to do this?

Just got my Alta Fitbit HR five days ago, but have been up and moving and dropped over four pounds (probably all water weight, but I'll take it ! lol) I love the reminder to get up and move every hour since I do a lot of work on the computer and also the challenge to drink lots of water and walking over 10,000 steps every day. So far I have done really well and just have to keep myself motivated and moving!

Because my Jawbone Up would not sync with Spark, last Friday I bought a Fitbit One. After spending a big part of the weekend trying to set it up and sync with Spark, I finally called tech support only to find that it is not supported on Windows 8.1. I can track my footsteps on my phone with the Jawbone but I have no way to enter those steps on Spark. Ugh! Very disappointed and frustrated.

Friday.. oh boy oh boy I'm happy about that. I'm off the weekend and Noni and I returned to our condo. Rode our bikes to the sushi restaurant.. refrained from ordering to much this time.. I always over order... I'm full but not stuffed ...
unfortunately Fitbit doesn't recognize my ride.. but I'm happy with the step count and mileage.

Well next week is our staff party.. when I first started I cooked this... then the owner decided to give me a break and he orders food from local restaurants..
My big mouth .... he was going to order pulled pork ... I mentioned I had pulled pork on the menu Tuesday... I could change it... then he realized pulled pork was nothing really special for the staff and everyone really likes mine. I had causally mentioned .. my big mouth... pay me extra and let me cater the staff party... nothing said... an hour later when I was in my cabin he sends me a message he wants to talk about the staff party can we chat.....
Well I went over to the office... They want me to cook for the staff party and he will pay me extra.
Rough menu ... BBQ steak, lobster, shrimp, corn on the cob ... Salads ... and can Noni make Sushi and some other special vegan meals.. total staff number is 25 to 30 people.
I will like the extra money for sure... the issue more so is attitude.. if drama at camp stays high and I'm so stressed I don't want to go all out and wow the staff, .... i guess I need to keep my feelings out of it and be professional.

Oh I'm not finished... my other parttme winter job... called me .. a client has booked the facility for a wedding in July . But has no cook and can't find one.. am I off? Would I do the wedding...?
Well I'm off... will I do a wedding for 60 people?
I have told them two or three times I'm not interested in cooking weddings... to much extra stress... everything has to be perfect .. this is a day that is remembered forever... if something goes wrong... You understand why I would be stressed..

Well I caved... I agreed to cook this wedding... I have a gut feeling it won't be my last...
They also want a BBQ .. BBQ chicken, maybe a roast beef , veggies.. a full sit down menu buffet style. And of course the bride is vegan and wants a vegan choice as well. Noni probably will have to make a vegan cake and I'll buy other deserts.

Meanwhile I worry about Mom and my Dalhousie who has his birthday tomorrow... Saturday 14 years old... been at my side all his life since six weeks old... we been through so much together.

. Dalhousie enjoys his behind the cabin times with me

June 8, 2017
Activity: 20,205 steps (9.4 miles)

It's been a crazy week... last Thursday I visited Mom.. found out she was back in hospital... nurses informed Noni and i that she was declining and I should talk to her doctor. Talking more with the nurses they felt she would not last very long at all.. later that night the doctor phoned me.. he thinks two or three months ... maybe longer..
so every night we been going to visit her after work.
She seems to be improving...
work has been stressful as well... yesterday we fed 240 campers... every other day it was 121 hungry mouths. Also I suspect my relief cook to be stealing food ... I talked to the owner ...
we won't mention the stressful relationship I have with the kitchen coordinator...

. Seen while driving home from a visit with Mom

. I have been having little camp fires behind our cabin to release stress.

we bought a lawn chair.. our swing was broken over the winter.. thenowner says he will replace it.. in the mean time I can't wait I want to relax outside on my afternoon coffee break

a busy but fun day............after church one of my daughters enjoy time in a hot tub.....been getting my daily goal of 5000 steps most days now.

Activity: 15,176 steps (7.0 miles)
Done: 911.8 mi / 1,964,007 steps since January 12th

... wow.. I'm getting close to 1,000 miles.. it seems like a lot
I was a little sore the next day after that 30,000 steps... however I ended up with another 15,000 the next day and again today.
