so i had it done! but not sure how hopeful to be, seems like success rate is not that great. plus when doc did the ultrasound he said it looks like i ovulated this morning/last night. so i might have missed the window...but he said there is still a chance so he did the IUI....anyone else have this happen?

I was able to goto work afterwards. I think it just depends on what type of job you have. Right after procedure they had me lay there for about 10-15 min with my butt kind of elevated, after that I could go home or work. You just want to take it easy on anything to strenuous including working out. I am not sure if they mentioned to you and they didn't say anything to me until we tried IUI but I was told do not take Ibuprofen, only take tylenol when needed, Ibuprofen can interfere with insemination or implantation. I don't remember which but it is best not to use if you start cramping, because you can cramp while implantation is taking place.

Thanks Shortcake. My doc said that i can go to work right after the procedure tomorrow. Is that what your doc said as well, or did you go home and rest afterwards, i'm hearing different things from different people.

I can't say I have a success story , but I can say I know what your going through. I have been going to a specialist since 2011, after my 2nd miscarriage. I have been on injections since then. One of the challenges we is my husband going on active duty. We tried 3 rounds of IUI before he went with no luck, but I think part to blame is the stress of the deployment and I was at a job that was very stressful. We have started back to injections since he is home and after recent talks with the doc we are going to be adding Lupron to my injections to help increase egg count and maturity. Since I have been going to the specialist I have no been on Chlomid, all shots. I did start going to an acupuncturist to try and see if it helps. Fingers crossed for you, good luck, the procedure is a little uncomfortable and some cramping but it passes. Keep us posted!

So for those of you who know me, i'm sorry i've been away for so long. For those of you who don't, i'll share my story. My husband and I have been trying for 2 years for our first, in Dec we just started going to a fertility specialist. in addition to the infertility we have had 2 miscarrages. This cycle we are doing an IUI. I am on clomid as well as today I had to give myself an injection of Ovidrel. I never thought i'd be able to give myself a shot, but it really wasn't that bad. and this is coming from someone who hates needles. Tomorrow at 8 am we go for our first IUI. We are going to try 3 cycles total. I'm praying that this works because we do not have IVF coverage. Are there any success stories out there? Would love to hear them...keep us in your prayers.
