Hello Everyone,

Thank you SUSY for getting our "April Coffee Chats & Connections" thread up and running.

March was really busy for me, too. I have been working a lot of hours, and with my job spread out over 5 locations, there is travel time from one place to another that has to be considered. No pay of course for travel time! emoticon

All I have done on my "MUST DO" list is I renewed my Group Certification. My CPR expires this month, and I do not have anything set up to get that done. The Y teaches CPR several times each year, but I didn't know about the class that was held in March, and YES I could have taken that one, but I found out about it AFTER it was already held. The next class is in May and on a Saturday. The race track job will keep me from attending that one, PLUS that will be after mine expires. The Step and Cycle Certifications are due now, but I will have to get to them when I can. There are only so many hours in a day........

The race track was supposed to open last weekend, but then and also this weekend, we've been rained out. If I have time, I can get the Step Cert and the Cycle Cert this weekend. It only takes 20 minutes or so to take the exam, BUT I need to review the study manuals before taking each. Never a dull moment!

Anyway, glad you are going to visit your kids and grandkids SUSY. Have a GREAT time. Another couple from the Y are in the process of selling their house and all of its contents in order to buy an RV and travel. They are so excited, and I am happy for them. A part of me thinks, "That would be the life," but a part of me is not so sure... emoticon It seems to be working well for you and your husband.

Oh, Pam! I meant to ask you from the March thread... Did you get your CPR class done? And it seems like you said you had some other studies (certifications) to update. How's that going?

I also forgot to mention that I sat in on a free ACE webinar this past week. It was titled, "Leveraging Technology to Help Create Active, Walking Communities."

And this reminds me that "National Walking Day" is coming up on April 6th!

Yay! A new month! And all that much closer to summer...

March was quite busy for me. Steve & I left the Rio Grande Valley on 3/1 (after a two month stay), and we traveled to several different campgrounds. It's always fun to explore new areas, but it wreaks havoc on my exercising and especially my eating!

This time, however, I have stuck to a walking program (put out by Leslie Sansone called Miracle Miles). There are 5 dvds, plus a calendar that changes up what your workouts are every six weeks. Since there are two rest days built in per week, a person can easily switch days around to fit their schedule. Thus, I have been able to stick with this program!

Now... have I lost any weight? No. (But keep in mind my eating choices are not the best.) But with all the walking and resistance band exercises I'm doing with the Miracle Miles program, I have dropped down a size in jeans. That's something!!!

We will be here in the Hill Country in Texas (about 90 miles north of San Antonio until 4/21, then we'll make our way back up to Kansas City to visit our kids/grandkids for a couple of months.

Life keeps us busy!
