I was complimented recently about the fun things my kids and I do. I thought I would share them and hopefully learn some new ones from other dad's. I have two boys ages 12 and 6. We have a box that has a bunch of index cards in it. Each index card has an activitiy. They range from arts and crafts to Foraging

Here is a part of the list:
Biking
Arts and Crafts
Reading
Comic Books
Video Games
Running
Cross Fit
Plyometrics
Swimming
Foraging (finding edible plants in the woods!!)
Nature watching
Bouldering (our friends has a rock wall in his garage)
Science and Exploration
Get Lost!! (we go into the woods and do as the title states)
GeoCaching (if you have never heard of it. Google it!! DO IT!!! My kids LOVE it)
Tennis
Basketball
Jungle Gym Exploring/climbing (find new ways to play with jungle gyms)
Kite Flying
Remote Control Fun (we have 2 RC helicopters and one track thing we play with)
Water Guns
Nerf War (if you don't have some nerf swrods and shields...GET SOME)
Paintball

That is not all of them, some always seem to come up more than others. But every day, I get home and pull one out. My wife says the kids look forward to it every day. Even when reading comes up, because they know it will not be picked for a while since I hold the cards out for a week or two to thin the options. some of them are weekend only options (like paintballing and bouldering) but we just throw them back in and pick another.

So what do you do with your kids to keep them mentally and physically stimulated?
