I love my immersion blender...I have all sorts of attachments for it and can use it as an electric whisk, a mini-food processor and of course it's main function.

My crockpot is my current obsession.

A CROCK POT!!! It's a great place to turn your left over meat into delicious soups. Last night, I made ham. Today, that leftover ham is in my crock pot simmering away into split pea soup!!

My favourite gadget is my electric steamer, steaming is one of the most healthy ways to cook, steaming conserves all the vitamins and minerals often lost with other methods of cooking and you can prepare food without added oil or fat which reduces calories.
It cooks a variety of foods including chicken, fish, vegetables and rice to name but a few.
It has a timer which automatically switches off at the end of the cooking time so it is very convenient to use.

My name is Cathy and I live in the Isle of man.

Without a doubt my slow cooker! I saw one in a kitchen store the other day with 3 (yes 3) pots in one cooker. I could really use that but have no room for such a thing. But that's how much I love my crock pot. It is also well loved by my family for creating wonderful aromas in the house.

I'm a big fan of my immersion blender for making smooth, creamy soups. I love all my little gadgets too like my garlic mincer, a good knife, and an electric scale for measuring... I don't know why I waited so long to get one!

I love my mini food processor. Does anyone have a recommendation for a great blender? I bought a $20.00 one from Wal-Mart and it is terrible! I didn't want to spend $100's but I do want one that works lol! Thanks!-Jennifer

I am not of monetary means so I don't have a lot of fancy gadgets in the house. I don't even have a hand mixer and haven't for years. The one thing I do have and enjoy very much is my garlic mincer thing. It was given to me by a friend, and I must say woohoo!

Yeah. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

"I would rather be hated for being who I am than be loved for being someone I'm not."

I saw this on the back of a Type O Negative album (I've forgotten which one) and I really liked it. I've been borrowing it ever since.

Enjoy!

Our kitchen is chock full of gadgets collected over the years and enjoyed by my hubby. I grew up with minimalist gear, and sadly still stay that way. My favorites are a good knife, the slowcooker (the old style that you can stick in the oven or on the stovetop if it didn't get done in time), and a huge fry pan that fits an entire family meal inside it. Oh, and the coffee maker. My hubby didn't believe me until he watched me make coffee without one, but it's possible.

LOVE my bread machine - I felt like I was "cheating" when I started using it. So easy, fast clean up, great! Also just got a garlic press, why didn't I get one of those years ago? Also, my crock pot.

Stopped using a steamer now that those steam bags came out for vegies - love those too!!

I love all of them, the ones not mentioned often below that I love though, are:

1. Tumbling Vacuum Meat Marinator. (Never a tough piece of meat for dinner again!)

2. Electric Steamer. (Good for veggies, eggs, meat, dumplings...)

I use my rice cooker a lot. Then there are the things that I can't imagine a proper kitchen not having... Microwave, vegetable peeler, cheese-grater of some sort. A good strong knife, a wooden cutting board, some good pans, and a colander can get most people by.

I have a coffee grinder that is great for breadcrumbs. The food processor gets used seldom enough that I wish that I had gotten one that needs a standard drill to run it instead of having its own stupid dedicated motor. The stick blender is more trouble than it's worth. (Maybe I should get a stick blender attachment for a handyman's drill.)

The bread machine is actually annoying enough to clean that I'd rather make bread by hand or buy it from the bakery section.

My kitchenaid mixer is number 1! (I have the slicer/shredder attachment)
My popcorn popper is awesome too, what a great way to make a quick low calorie snack the whole family enjoys!
I also use my micro planer a lot. It's a lot easier to clean than my garlic press.
My magic bullet gets used a lot too. Homemade bread crumbs, blending spices, purees, etc. Oh, and don't forget the smoothies! Each kid can have their own flavor!
I also use my george foreman grill a lot in the winter when I don't feel like BBQing in the snow!

I also like my bendable cutting boards, which I use daily. When I'm finished they go right into the dishwasher. They come in all different colors, so I use different colored ones for meats , veggies & so on. These are very useful.

I hope you are using your Crock pot in the garage in the summer. They too heat up the kitche,. I love those so much I have 2 of them and a back up I could not resist at $9.99.
My Magic Bullet is used at least once daily. I have worn out one but the good part is now i have eight of the handled mugs so I can just whip up something nice for the grandkids and hand them the mug.
I also use it as a grinder for flax sees and if I am short on flour for something I grind Oats or oatbran to a powder no problem.
I will look in to the Le Creuset since a number really like it. I thought I would like George Forman but was told by our sons they are messy. I do not want messy so I will look in to it Thanks for the heads up. Pat in Maine

I love my gadgets! I sold Pampered Chef for 2.5 years, so I have most all of it!

And my stand mixer...what an AWESOME piece of equipment! I use it for pizza dough and cookies and cake and dog bisuits and even eggs! It's the greatest.

I have a food processor, but I don't use it too much. I used it the other day to make pesto but found a chunk of plastic in there, so the hardly used thing is falling apart apparently. Boo!

And the toaster oven is the greatest. Awesome for baking for just one or two people. I'll even bake cookies in there! That way I don't overeat them! :)

I just recently got a crockpot and I'm looking for good recipes. I LOVE my southwest stuffed peppers recipe. Crockpot is so nice for keeping the kitchen cool in the summer! And having dinner ready when you return from whatever all afternoon!

I love, love, love my microplane. I put citrus zest in pretty much any thing I can get away with, and it's fabulous for grating nutmeg, garlic and ginger, too.
With a microplane, a couple good knives and a sharp veggie peeler, I'm petty much good to go!

I love gadgets!!! I have several and I love many that I have from Pampered Chef. I was interested that some said a food processor. That is one thing I do not have. Not sure I need one with all the gadgets I have.

One that I'm not sure was mentioned that I love is an egg, mushroom and strawberry slicer. Got it from Pampered Chef and it does multi-task.

I'm kind of a gadget fanatic, but my all time favorites are:
* Blender (been on a smoothie kick lately)
* My cast iron pan (very well seasoned)
* My Espresso machine (I know, it's a uni-tasker, but I can live with that).
* and my newest favorite is my pressure cooker. I just opened up a new thread in the 'week 1' forum discussing it.

I love to cook and have a tiny kitchen - my entire house is only 600 square feet and we have 2 bedrooms...I'll let you all do the math, lol. So everything in my kitchen MUST multitask. Even though the Kitchenaid stand mixer takes up a lot of space I can't live without it. My Shun knives are indispensable and fit nicely on a magnetic strip affixed to the window sill. My egg slicer and pizza cutter are also essential. (My utter lack of counter space means I have to get creative about prep, particularly chopping.)

My least favorite kitchen gadgets are definitely my cats, who love to help Mommy cook. emoticon

My top 5 kitchen 'gadgets' I use without fail are:

1.Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I bake gluten free, so this thing ROCKS!
2. CrockPot. Love it:)
3. Garlic press
4. Hand held food processor
5. Juicer

The one thing in my kitchen that I use everyday is my cast iron skillet!

It's not as popular as the George Foreman grill, and doesn't drain fat away from the food. But there's flavor in that fat and I want to keep it! Also, the pan heats up and cleans up just as fast as the "George".

I do well enough with eating tons of fruit and veggies that I can afford the small amount of fat that I'm keeping in my meat!

I have just about every other gadget listed in this thread and many more, but my beloved cast iron skillet is the only thing I use daily!

I didn't realize how many gadgets I use/love until I started reading this thread. LOL Let's see..some I use all the time are my 1 c and 1/2 c ladles, KA stand mixer, veggie steamer, iced tea maker, immersion blender and the attachment where you can chop stuff in a little sealable container (perfect for chopping onions).....I could go on and on!

I am a gadget person and have most everything, but I must say, since I joined SparkPeople that my new favorite is my immersion blender. Great for smoothies
