Sorry about not getting back to you sooner- thank you all for your suggestions! I didn't know that Wynn is a vegan. That will help in choosing restaurants (I'll probably select his restaurants and my husband will wonder why I'm so obsessed! LOL!).

I know about Happy Cow. The problem with that site is that sometimes it's outdated, so I'd have to call ahead. They have a vegan restaurant listed about a mile from me that no longer exists. It was like as soon as I moved here and was all excited about there being a nearby vegan restaurant, they went out of business. emoticon

Steve Wynn is a vegan so all of his hotel properties have vegan dishes. At least you can have a nice fancy dinner one night if you like.

Vegas has a lot of buffets, luckily you won't eat a lot that's served at most of them, but they probably have great veggies and fruits for you to eat too. It might be easier than you think. And like what the other poster said, finding a supermarket and keeping a few staples in your hotel room will help.

I know my supermarket standbys are hummus, veggies and stuffed grape leaves. A great lunch and most places have them.

I did a quick google search for Vegas & vegan and there are many restaurants listed and articles about hotel menus. Just do some searches. Also call or e-mail your hotel or conference and ask what vegan options they have. They may have a small refrigerator in the room that you could use for a few items from the grocery.

I can maintain veganism on vacation, that's not the problem. There's a lot of vegan junk food out there that I could eat.

The problem comes when avoiding additives, oils, sweeteners, etc. I eat pretty clean and avoid most junk. I also follow ETL, which is strict with no junk.

I'm going to Vegas in August. It's a while away, however I need to plan where we're going to eat. We're going for 4 days. I'll hopefully be at goal by then and want to still fit into my goal sized clothes by the time we leave!

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can enjoy my vacation and stay eating clean, or at least not gain a ton of weight? Even if I can't eat clean, I want to maintain my weight (and I wouldn't hate it if I lost weight either).

I was thinking of ideas. Should I buy fruit at a grocery store and eat it for breakfast, then eat salads for lunch before my course to fill up a bit first, and do the same for dinner? How am I supposed to maintain in that decadent world? The thought makes me run to the fridge to hug my kale tightly to me!

I want to enjoy my vacation, but I don't want to gain weight or eat unhealthfully. That's the trick. I guess it's like going on a cruise and trying to eat well.

Should I just lose weight below my goal so I can gain a couple of pounds? Any strategies?

Thanks in advance!!!
