Thanks all, great ideas!

I'm leaving tomorrow and will be back the evening of the 16th.

I'll see if my hotel has a business center with computer usage and see if I can post a trip update or two.

I would brown bag it "just in case." Get the vegan meal, pick and choose what you want from it and you have your brown bag if that's not enough food. Larabars, raw nuts, baby carrots, an apple, a banana would all fit in a brown bag, plus would last til the next day if that vegan meal ends up being awesome!

I stay on my road and I don't change lanes.

"I'm thinking that just making healthy choices during this trip will be hard enough; I don't want to start on a bad food.

Maybe I should just brown bag it?"

That is exactly why I brown bag such situations. If I start the trip with one not-so-healthy meal, it's tough for me to stay on purpose the rest of the time.

Also, when I look at the airplane food, even though the vegan is so much better than what the rest of the passengers are eating, it's still not as yummy or healthy as my own. So I'm usually glad I do tote along my little brown bag.

I'm going on a trip in 5 days (woohoo!!!), and I think I get a meal on the flight (or at least I'd better for how expensive the ticket was!).

It did ask for dietary preferences, and I indicated vegan. This has always worked in the past. Normally the meat eaters are jealous because the vegan food I get is edible, and their food is beyond questionable.

I'm just worried about the health value of this meal. Do you think one meal matters? I'm thinking that just making healthy choices during this trip will be hard enough; I don't want to start on a bad food.

Maybe I should just brown bag it?

Your thoughts?
