people would keep the weight off instead of gaining it right away again. I see way too many people who lose a cool amount of pounds and then gain it in 6-8 months again.

I choose to lose...

We'd have to find something else to fill all the magazines and tabloids! If we didn't have the "diet-of-the-week" promoting losing 10 pounds in 10 days we might save a few trees! LOL

Yes, the stress that comes with trying to lose 2 pounds a week or more is more than I can handle. I know that it is only a smart move to get on the scale once a week. I really learned that lesson this week big time! On Wed. morning I got on the scale and I had put on 7 pounds. Even went over to the doc's office to use their scale. Said the same thing a 7 pounds weight gain. This stress was driving me to want to start over or quit. This mornng is the day to weight In. There it was, the figure that I had last week. I didn't gain and I did lose! So all that sweating over nothing all the worry. I'm going to do better about stayin off the scale and only count on getting a weight on Sunday mornings ! Thanks for all the wonderful words of encouragment I got over the weekend from different team members!

The way I try to look at weight loss is, as I learn to eat the proper foods in the proper portions the weight loss will be a natural process that is meant to be. Then it will be a health lifestyle I can live with, that's second nature, not yo, yo.

Slow ballroom dancing and "figure salons" for the ladies--not Curves--[but if you remember Elaine Powers, they had those chintzy exercycles and about 4 weight training stations] both would make a comeback.

[In the late '80s I went to a passive exercise salon a little while. It sure busted stress (did nothing for my weight); but a thin neighbor a little younger than me, swore by them ...]

The sedate hatha yoga classes (vintage of before circa 1994) would all make a strong comeback ...

... and there would, like I said before, be all the men flooding pilates ...

The guys going to yoga to ogle 'hot chicks' concept would also die its most deserved and natural death ... in those slow hatha classes you need a hell of a warmup and there are so few downward dogs ...

Am I a Boomer or what? emoticon

People would find fun exercises to do like dancing,
swimming, bocce, bowling etc. They would not feel they have to be at the gym 24/7 to get in shape.

People would be kinder to themselves and others along their weight loss journey, and focus on consistency rather then everyday ups and downs. emoticon

As people are happier with their weight loss, there would be fewer people with eating disorders

That is so cool ... and people could lazily lay about the pool deck (well, if outdoors, do use sunscreen) or grab themselves a hot fudge sundae (well, not me .. I'm lactose intolerant) ... and it's not the End of the World ...

people would become more realistic in what it takes to lose the weight, and keep it off.

People would be happier for all the right reasons and less judgmental.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. "
