This team is amazing! I was away for 24 hrs and there's TONS of stuff going. Sue dropping the BIG 100!!! Congrats!
JSTBKOZ- menopause here also. Was a tough start and then the body finally got it and started dropping pounds. Only lost a few pounds (3, I think) on a longer Attach phase, 7 days. Also, I got "stuck" at the weight which I had maintained in the past. 130 was like huge boulder in the road.
My mom is also doing the Dukan and she is stuck on a number right now, for weeks and she was this weight for years in the past but really wants to loose more. She is not at her true weight yet and it is very frustrating. The body has memory and seems to like repeating the same level of comfort.
Have a great Friday, Dukanites!

Ding, ding, ding...you've got it Maree!

I weighed myself yesterday morning and was at 154.4. A little surprising since I weighed in at 156.6 Monday, but I knew I was retaining water so for funsies, I got on the scale. This morning, I was exactly at 153.8...100 pounds to the ounce less than I was when I started this plan on 4/29/10! Oh, and my BMI is at 24.9...I'm normal!!!

BTW, my husband is taking full credit for this. Uh-huh...or so he thinks.LOL He recommended I switch from 3/3 to 1/1 since I miss vegetables so much on PP days. I did and naturally, he think he had something to do with the loss so far this week. What a nut.LOL

My True Weight is 140 and my doctor wants to see me at 130. I've agreed to compromise (maybe) and will shoot for 135. But honestly, whichever gets me into a size 12 comfortably, not snug, will make me happy.

Yup, I'm a really happy woman today. emoticon

I'm down .6 this morning. Looks like I've finally found a rhythem and should lose a pound a week. That is cool with me. I have also changed my PV PP days schedule. Wed Thur and Suday are my PV days and Mon Tue Fri and Sat are PP days. It seems to work better than the other way. And my cravings are starting to go away.

Again I want to thank everyone for the suggestion yesterday it really helped me stay the course.
The scale was good to me today back down to 8 pounds lost. emoticon
Moving to cruise and drinking even more water in extreme heat and humidity. Will also add another 10 minutes a day till up to the hour walking plus weights and abs.

I kind of like it when questions and discussions happen on the Weigh in or even better on the Everyday Chat. They are the only threads I check in with, as it takes too much time to follow a lot of threads. Keeping the pulse of the team on these threads works great

Rachel, you can post where ever you'd like!

Patti, I didn't realize this was going on late in Attack. This phase is just to trick the body into letting go quickly before it realizes what's happening. If you stagnate, then it's definitely time to move into Cruise.

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. It is hot and humid! I do drink lots of water but was also having ice coffee (made by me sugar free fat free) but more dairy than usual. A little stress not much sleep. That is my answer. Also went back to the book and found I should now move on to cruise. Even though it is earlier than origonally planned.

Yes this is the weigh in thread I made a mistake posting my question here. BUT so thankful for the help!

Still down 7 overall in attach.

Patti, I am menopausal too, and my body was VERY stubborn through Attack phase. Days and days went by with no weight loss. But I was MORE stubborn and stuck with it, did not cheat, and then, finally, all of a sudden, I started dropping weight. And it has continued. I'm not sure what goes on in our metabolism, but it is definitely very different time of life than when I was younger and had all that estrogen flowing through my veins. Keep up your resolve and good luck!!

Patti, I've seen this mentioned a few times on Facebook.

You may be retaining water. If it's hot and humid like it is on most of the continent this week, that could be causing water retention. Drink more.

How's your sodium intake?

Even though your menopausal, your body can still act like it's TOM...possibility for you?

Are you overexercising?

Cut back on dairy.

Are you eating anything other than the 100 allowed foods?

If you're doing all the above, give it another day or so. Your body may be just fighting you to keep this weight.

Looking for suggestions in my moment of panic. I'm in attach phase and have gained weight! I have not cheated once. I am in menopause. Help me find the focus to continue.
Have you ever heard of anyone gaining before? It's been 3 days of holding or going up.
Suggestions welcomed.

Today's weigh-in: 125.8, going strong, planning my Consolation meal for tomorrow and my PP day is still Thursday. Still jumping on the scale, full of worry that I have gained but Dukan's List of 100 foods to eat has not let me down.

You did great in the face of so much temptation Sue, good for you to focus on the salad theme, you are so close to goal.

140in2012 Great start. That is smart and ever so dramatic to weigh in after Phase I, and not during, keep up the great work.

Razz so glad to hear always that another pound is gone

Happy I so agree, this is a great team and a great diet concept

I lost another pound. I'm down to 231.4. That's a total loss of 10.8lbs in 10 days.

I started eating veggies on Saturday and they have never tasted so good. Also, I'm a creamy dressing girl and made the dukan savory dressing w nf greek yogurt and it was AMAZING!!!

MY FIRST WEIGH IN - I started my journey on 7/7/11 and today is my first weigh in. I did Phase 1 of the Dukan Diet (pure protein) and I'm down 15 pounds. Today I will start incorporating veggies into my eating plan while staying away from the breads, potatoes, etc. I recognize that some of the weight loss is water, but also I believe some if true fat. I'm excited to be off and running on my journey.

I went a little longer in Phase 1 because of my schedule and needing to make the program work with my life. This is an important part of changing my life style--I have to find ways to be successful and incorporate healthy choices into my daily life. Diets don't work for me. I'm focused on long term. I can't be black or white.

Weigh in this morning...no loss but no gain either.

I usually have trouble maintaining, never mind losing, when we're camping. I did pretty good BUT being on a 3/3 routine, I was supposed to be on PP for the 3 days we were away.

Yeah, right.

Hubby would have popsicles, I'd snack on a salad. Hubby would eat potato chips, I'd snack on salad. Hubby stopped for an ice cream sandwich, I went to the store and bought more salad fixings.

It was a really hot weekend here and even though I kept my water drinking to about 2 litres or more and stayed away from the salt, I woke up this morning with swollen feet and hands. Ugh, nothing like water retention to make you feel blah.

Now excuse me while I go cook my oat bran and have another glass of water.

I haven't been doing that well the past few weeks unfortunately. I've been doing a modified version of Dukan but have had some slip ups with eating this snack called "Pirate's booty" which is sort of like a rice baked popcorn puff and I got hooked on them. I haven't been regaining but my weight is at a stand still. So I said that's it NO MORE!! Today I'm back on PP and will stay on it for the next few days and then go back on Cruise phase. I have to keep posting here regularly because it helps me stay accountable!

Keep up the good work Everyone!!

May Gods blessings be upon you and your families.

The only thing standing in the way of my success is ME! So I choose to move out the way and claim my Victory!

I'm back home after staying a week at my mom's. Basically I took some foods with me and Atkins bars. I know they probably aren't legit, but for the long drive there and back, they work great. I did mostly PP days and a couple PV days when I ate out occasionally. But then I ate the random snacks here and there ( sweets mostly.). Still I managed to maintain and even lose a bit. All things considered I am happy with that. I thought I would have a gain to fight back off emoticon

Okay, so here is the deal. I did not know about the Dukan diet. I had just found my way to adding protein and lowering carbs dramatically. Kind of following the Carb addict diet where you get to eat 1 meal every day whatever you want and the rest of the day little to no carbs. Basically meat and veggies. When I started that, I started losing about a pound a day. Then, I'm standing in line at Walmart and see a magazine that's headline was something about boosting your metabolism and losing 13 pounds in one week. I bought the magazine and read all about the Dukan diet. I have not read the Dukan diet book and don't know a lot of the rules, etc.... But it sounds pretty powerful so actually I think I started at phase 2 instead of phase one ??? ate veggies yesterday with my protein. But today, I have eaten only meat. Two days ago meat only. So, I guess that is phase 2. So, I guess i'm going to do only protein tomorrow too. Let me ask you, how long do you do the phase one? I know there is some type of formula. Can you tell me? Thx! Also, could not find Oat bran today so will have to use my fiber choice chewable tablets instead until i can get some...

Hi JKOBEL, and welcome. It's common for the scale to jump around for me when I go from a PP day to a PV day. You wouldn't think vegetables would add weight, but I think it explains in the book that veggies increase water retention. My weight stuck for a long while in the beginning and still varies a lot, but it finally started a downward spiral and overall I am at my goal weight (yaaay!!). Good luck; this eating plan really works for me and I hope it does for you, too!!

Hello - I just started Dukan on Saturday, I had 3 attack days and now I am on Cruise. I have less to lose, starting at 137, I want to get down to 124. I lost 2 lbs on the attack but now that I started Cruise I am up a pound. I wanted to know if this was normal and if anyone else experienced the same issues. Thanks so much!

Down another 1/2 pound this morning - making it a total of 24.5 pounds since 5/10/2011!! This is definitely a diet that I can live with...especially with results like this!

Thanks for the encouragement June. At first the Attack was hard, but now that I'm on day 6 w\ only a few days left I'm anxious about starting the cruise phase.

I lost 2 more lbs. Started at 242, yesterday 235.6, and today 233.6. My most recent dieting low (a year ago) was 227... I can't wait to get below that emoticon

I am down another pound this morning. Last night was Applebee's for a date with hubby. I actually made it through ordering without buckling into their potatoes. I asked for an extra side of veggies. I did cheat a little. I had a hot fudge shooter. I ended up only eating half and giving the rest to hubby. Then after supper we did some mall walking.

Way to go Razz, great start. The start is quick, the weight loss will continue, but less dramatically when you get into cruise, but you will feel motivated and the attack will cleanse your tastes of sweet and greasy cravings.

Thursday weigh day
I am up slightly today, but within range of my goal
goal 122 plus or minus 2 pounds
last week 121.6
this week 123.2

I had a Sunday binge, this week will work on no binges, stay the moderate course.
