I do get the stomach growling thing going on from the Oat bran but not too much. I noticed too that if I cook it in a porridge or galette it's absorbed better then just raw in yogurt. I have gotten both the Quaker Oat bran and the toasted Oat bran at Trader Joe's both work fine. The toasted has a better texture and taste (to me) but in both, the only ingredient is Oat Bran!!

Good luck!!

May Gods blessings be upon you and your families.

Not all walmarts are the same cause I searched everywhere in the store and asked different people working there in the departments and one looked it up in their stock and they no longer carry oatbran here. Now I'm just ordering mine from GNC cause they were sold out.

Tasha, also check the hot cereal section of your grocer. Quaker Oats and/or Hodsons Mills (sp?) should be there. Check the ingredients list...if it only has oat bran, then that's the right one.

Tasha do you have a Hy-Vee in your area? They carry it in the "heathfood" section of their store.

Okay, it's me again. I searched Walmart in the cereal aisle, the baking aisle and in the fiber section of the pharmacy department. NO LUCK. I ended up buying some Fiber Choice "Weight Management" Sugar Free Strawberry Chewable Tablets. It will have to do for now until I can get some oat bran. I will check out the health food store this week when I get a chance...

I found wheat bran at Hy-Vee for only .69 a pound. Oat bran is $1.49 to $1.69 a pound.

I searched and searched the walmart here but couldn't find anything that was 100% oat bran. Steel but yes but not oatbran. Found at GNC and really cheap. Plus you can order it online from GNC and get free shipping. The oatbran is less then $3. a bag and I also use the wheat bran and its less then $2. a bag. Great job on your weightloss.

I buy the Quater Oat Bran. That is all we have in our small little town!
I have not had any stomach issued besides the Attack stage.

Hi, GA8625 --

Thanks for the tip. I am eating it raw -- on my yogurt with sweetner and cinnamon, actually. I will try it as oat meal instead and see how that goes. Thanks for the tip!

Susan, oat grain is different than oat bran and I don't believe the two are interchangeable. Oat bran is the outer casting of the oat while oat grain is the whole part.

Check the hot cereal section of your grocer...I know Quaker makes and there is another brand but memory escapes me now. The only ingredient is oat bran, nothing else.

Is oat grain the same as oat bran? Couldn't make it past the health food store but found oat grain in the grocery store and got it. Its say on the box steel cut oats but I'm not sure if this is good or not...
Gloria , Like the idea of oatmeal made from the oatbran. Been eating eggs and turkey bacon for the past 2 months and sometimes like a change.

Are you certain it's the oatbran that's causing you the discomfort? How much dairy are you consuming per day? The reason I ask is because it sounds like you may be lactose intolerant.

. I'm not familiar with toasted oatbran but if the ingredient list has nothing but oatbran in it, it should be ok.

I just bought the bulk oat bran a Whole Foods. It was only $2 a lb. and is yummy.
I make oatmeal for breakfast (add cinnamon, sweetner, and water and nuke for 2 mins., let sit and soak up water, add milk and nuke for another minute). It makes quite a large serving for 1.5 T and tastes great!
I also make the galette. I fill it with greek yogurt and wrap like a crepe. Again yummy and satisfying, no tummy trouble or flatulence.
Question- are you eating it raw? Perhaps that is a problem. It is an important aspect of the diet so I would not skip it.

Hi, Babette3,

Thanks! Toasted oat sounds better, if it's gentler on my stomach I will try it! Thanks for the advice!

Hi,
I'm a newbie and this may not be strictly Dukan, but I am using toasted oat bran, cause that is all they had at our Trader Joe's. It isn't causing me any problems and is quite yummy. Don't know if toasted is what Dr. Dukan would approve.
Good Luck

This may be considered TMI, but is anyone else having stomach issues because of the oat bran? When I do choose to eat it, my stomach gets so bloated it hurts and I feel full all day (which might be a good thing) even if my stomach growls. Also, I'm quite gassy, which is super fun at work, and, I have to go to the bathroom a lot. I get that it is in fact bran, but right now I'm only consuming two spoons full and have moved to primarily only on weekends. Is that bad? I can't imagine having three spoons a day during the last phase....
