EVER-HOPEFUL, 1 kilometer, or 1,000 meters, is
approximately 5/8 of a mile, or 3280.8 feet.
My Pool's Length is 53 feet, I believe.
When I did the calculation, months ago, it worked
out to 60 Lengths of the Pool, or 30 Laps.
Thanks again for the tips on hydration !

I drank the 16 ounces in the hour before my 1 kilometer
swim, on Monday morning.Throughout my 100-minute swim,
I drank 2 1/2 of the 500-liter Bottles of water.

I felt much better, after my swim.

I'll do the math-- seems like I should be drinking more !

one quick thought on this... you can indeed over hydrate. of course most of us under hydrate but when you drink more water, espeically if you go from zero to 8 in one day flat, you will be flushing out more minerals. I become light headed (from lack of something that is being flushed out) when i drink toooooo much. for me 8 is too much. i do about 6 per day. sometimes more, sometimes less. especially when working out you should . of course most of us need more but i bring it up only because when we make a 'goal' to do something like..more water..sometimes we end up over doing. listen to your body.

I was reading the other day about drinking water before and during our workouts...

Drink 16 ounces of water prior to working out, and 10 ounces of water for every half hour of work out. If we don't hydrate properly, our heart will beat an extra 18 beats per minute, causing stress on our hearts. If we are not well hydrated our workout will seem more strenous, actually it will be.
