To Donate Blood in the United States, here's the link to go to find out your nearest blood drive, look for upcoming drives, and see the current promotions for blood donations during a specific time frame:

You will need to create an account, and use the log in email at the time of your donation, in order to enter for drawing or to receive whatever gifts might be available. Frequently there are offers for a free tshirt, or a $5.00 gift card code from Amazon or other websites, or entries for a sweepstakes to win trips or merchandise connected to tv shows, movies, sporting events etc.

Some of these are awarded just for going and presenting at the blood donation site, even if you might not be eligible to donate blood that day, due to not feeling well, medication conflicts, etc. I'm not eligible to donate for at least a year, for now, but occasionally I go in and present, if they aren't too busy, and let them go ahead and defer me, but I still get the gift card promotion or whatever.

Teenagers 16 and older can donate with a signed consent from their parents or legal guardian.

There is also other information such as how to host a blood drive, and what you will need to know before donating.

Another link allows you to do your preliminary reading of health information before you arrive at the donor site. This is called "Rapid Pass". Once there, you will sign in at the front desk and indicate that you have completed your Rapid Pass, and you will be directed to the line to wait for your health history. During the Health History, they will ask if you did a Rapid Pass, and will scan the QR code that you either have on your phone (mobile app) or printed out onto a paper, if you have access to a printer at home (or you can make a screen shot of it from within your email and use that screen shot. Some places they have a harder time scanning it, so it doesn't hurt to get a paper copy before you show up to donate, if possible.

Did you know there's an "App For That"? Here is the page with links to the App store (Apple) or Google Store (Androids) and explanation of what is included in the apps:

(and can't donate? you can always volunteer to help with concessions area where donors go to eat a snack after they've donated, or help put up advertising posters or check in donors at the entrance etc. Just ask!).

Thank you!!
