Good day all. I had a real bear of a day yesterday. Its in one of my blogs somewhere. I was not a happy camper *Chuckles* I still don't feel great today, chronic pain is kind of my life for the time being, I am not religious, but i am spiritual and I have faith that one day the pain will go away, or at least become tolerable. I have to have that faith to keep me going everyday, without that I don't really think I could go on.

Aside from that stuff the day is good, I cannot really complain. All my basic human needs are being met. I have shelter, I have meals that are nutritious. What more can I really ask for :)

I haven't been doing so good. I've been eating over my calorie range and I have had a sweet tooth really bad that I can't shake. I have given in to this sweet tooth and have been eating a lot of ice cream and candy. It wouldn't be bad if I just ate the ice cream, but I'm eating the ice cream and the candy in one day at one sitting. Right now I haven't gained or lost any weight, but that isn't going to last forever. I really need to change this destructive behavior. I feel like I'm falling apart.

Kae - Emotional eating is a way of life for us that we need to take control of. One you need to realize why you are eating. Is it really because you are hungry or is it for some kind of emotion? I eat for emotions and I know it. I just have to stop doing that and find something else to do instead of eating. Picking the right type of food is part of changing your life style. Take baby steps with that. For your first step try drinking 8 8 oz. glasses of water a day. Once you have accomplished that goal, work on another one. Just move slowly through your life style change.

Hi everyone! How is it going?

My life so far has been one big pendulum swing and I'm still striving for balance at 64 years of age. It's all or nothing with me.
I'm glad, although I probably shouldn't be, that I'm not the only binger. All these years I kept my binges a secret and then on July 10th discovered spark people and a label for the term binging.
Emotional Eaters, as a tag, puts everything into a clearer perspective for me. I just thought I was a wild woman and a bit "offside". Turns out I am not alone.
Someone told me it is a constant battle. I have a problem looking at emotional eating as a battle that I have to win. I also feel like I constantly have to keep myself under control, which I hate.
Does anyone have any suggestions for thinking about emotional eating as, not a battle, but something else a bit more positive? Some way of levelling out in a peaceful fashion. Is this a struggle that I'm going to have for the rest of my life? How come some people never have a problem with emotional eating, or emotional anything?
This is embarrassing, but I'm a bit upset because yesterday I went to the Toronto Zoo, had loads of fun (rode a camel, walked 5 kms), and then topped the day off with foods that are high in fat, sugar and carbs. I guess I'm too easily influenced.
I love to be active.

@ BAKES3000 - welcome back!!


Did well yesterday despite going out to lunch. Only ate half my meal and took the rest back to my other half. Didn't walk last night. emoticon . And decided that doing it in the mornings would mean getting up at 430. thats too early for me. So have to force myself out of the couch in the evenings and get my butt on the treadmill!!!

Coming back after a long absence. Moved away from my 4 children and 9 grandchildren, lost my mom and now my husband's mom. Lots of emotion going on, but I am determined to take better care of me and be successful on this quest. Thanks for your daily support. Your stories and successes inspire me to be all that I can be!

Ahh brand new month :) Course that means we are inching our way back towards the season who's name we dare not mention. I kind of like August and the following months. Its still warm but a bit chilly out. The longer time goes on it gets a bit colder and it starts to smell like fall out. I can't really describe it but I know it. I think it's easier for me to "smell" the seasons as I live in a small town in Northern Maine. I am grateful for that. I don't know if I ill be able to stay here forever but I am for now. I have a great day and a fantastic August all.



I sometimes get busy, or well just bogged down in my own crap and forget to join in on these daily chats, but I like doing it. If I wander off for a long time someone drop me a line and remind me ;) I would like to make them a daily part of my routine. Please feel free to inbox me if you notice me quiet for more than a few days. I would appreciate it

Haven't been able to check in everyday, but today was an ok day. Got to my water fitness class, which I enjoy. So if I don't have to work I try to get there.

I had a wonderful vacation with my family. I did not stay on track. My at is up 7# but j am starting the new challenge with partner ship for accountability team to loose 5 # in august.

good morning!!

had a good day yesterday and got up early this morning and did part of a kettlebell work out video. Did my best to do all off it but managed 15 fast minutes. Didnt walk last night. But planning on it tonight.

I too had a binge last night after eating dinner out. I am not happy about it,but I am back on track today and got in a 1 mile run in. (running is not my thing) I will get a kickboxing class in tonight, but for right now, I have taken a day off to go shopping and enjoy the day.

I had an entire binge DAY yesterday. Sigh. Not hugely upset about it, not enough to get me off track, but disappointed. Back on track today. Ran 3.9 miles this morning, ate a healthy breakfast, drinking my water. Today is a new day.

Not having a good week. First week back to work after 4 weeks off, and I am overwhelmed with stress. I have no energy! I have been eating too much and not exercising. I have to get on track, and I will do better today! Have a sparkling Wednesday!

Well, the seemingly inevitable binge came last night. Ben and Jerry's Americone Dream in the freezer. I ate about 2 servings' worth. Yep. 500 calories down the drain. I guess the silver lining is that I had my longest run ever yesterday morning and had burned about 450 calories. I don't plan on making the habit of stuffing my face with ice cream just because I had a good run that day, but it helped me stay away from the guilt and just start over again this morning. Mercy is new every morning, right?

Now if I can just figure out how to get more protein in my diet. I'm doing well on the right calories, but not getting enough protein. Haven't made the protein goal in over a week. I guess I have to learn how to eat better that way.

Good day everyone!!

So on Friday had a picnic for work. I managed to steer clear of the salads and ice cream but, went to a get together that evening and was munching on dip and chips and had a slice of pizza. I also made really good cheeseburgers that I'm sure were really not good. Saturday had a birthday party so had cake n ice cream but small portions and scrapped off most of the icing. Back on track yesterday and picked up a treadmill which is all ready for to get going when i get home today. hope everyone has a good week!!

It's Monday...new week. Feeling good. Joined 28 day BootCamp and started yesterday. Kept my eating in check yesterday and did the 10 min. video for the bootcamp. Funny how long 10 mins is when you are doing jumping jacks, burpee's and mountain climbers. emoticon

Kathy your right God has a plan and he will allow all things to work out. If you really love your place and your landlord ask your landlord if he could lower the rent back down to where you feel more comfortable. If he says no at least you asked. Or maybe there's a better place around the corner. Hang in there hun!

I have been feeling great and I ate so much stuff yesterday but made better choices than what I could have made.. and the amazing thing is I weighted myself this morning to see if I made some big damages and I actually lost a little more weight... not sure how that is possible but I Guess from a week of being as good as I can paid off. It just must be my muscles are burning those extra calories :) Either way no matter how bad yesterday was I still feel great :)

Kathy i am sorry you have to move. Moving is so expensive.

Nomis just take it one meal at a rime. I am finding keeping the junk out of the house a huge benefit.I craved chips last night but had non and since i wasntg waling to the store i went with out.

I UNDERSTAND
We started our family trip for vacation today,mostly local we went to the country try fair today stopped @ dollar general came out with potato chips, nutty bars, jerky and I ate it all with my family. At lest 8 nutty bars, chips,and jerky, I also had a corn dog and good time. The demo cars were cool. And my son and I got new hooded sweat shirts. No excuses not to walk now when it gets cold.

Hello team.. I am on my third day and still holding strong. I did have pizza for lunch, but I only had what I had planned. I have not had any emotional upsets, but I think the more days that we stick to the plan, the better off we will be!!!

feeling tired and in need of extra sleep, but had enough energy for a workout and a graduation party where I couldn't pass up the food line! I don't know how I will ever be able to do that. I even had a snack before we left. Nope, that didn't work for me! Maybe next time. emoticon

Trying not to do the emotional eating thing this afternoon. Just found out from our landlord he's raising the rent enough for our place to be out of our price range. I could just cry. Or eat. I love this place. Aside from money issues, we love our landlord. We all love living here. I can't believe I have to move again.

7 times in 16 years and we're not even military.

God will provide. I don't doubt it. I'm just really sad right now. And the chips left over from vacation are begging me to eat them. All of them.

I am doing ok so far. I am having a few more times of over eating due to stress. I still have a hard time managing that. I have sstopprd buying junk as my kids dont need it anymore than i do. I m hoping that helps alot.

emoticon Well I have managed to mindlessly eat my way back up the scale. However, I am not defeated. I will keep moving forward. The damage is done and the repairing will begin. I kept trying to do all of the suggestions to avoid eating, but still ate. Problem is the issue as to why I was eating has not been solved and will not be for a long time. Then I created another problem by adding more weight to my problem. Today is a new day and new beginning. I will do well today a for the days ahead!

Good afternoon team,
Im on track today. My food is planed and input to the tracker. Ive got small meals and snacks planned for every 2-3 hours. Im getting ready to make a pot of veggie soup. Nothing stressful going on in my world today.

So far today is going pretty good, no not just good, I feel really good. We had a good rain to cool things off yesterday and should also today.
I still grab for food when I am nervous or bored. Did get me some mini carrots to grab, but forgot to bring some today (I'm at work right not). I do have a zone bar, but won't get these anymore as they taste bad. This is the new greek yogurt.

Hi everyone.
This is a hard one, yes I am am emotional eater. I've had a couple good days but its hard. On Sunday, I had a hard day at work. I pretty much ate everything in site at my Moms because my house was cleaned out. When I got home it all hit me like a bomb! I felt sick my stomach hurt so bad.

I tracked everything I could remember and started over right then send there.

Went to the gym this morning and came back and did a little yoga.

Yesterday was the first time, in I don't know how long, I followed my food plan. So far so good today.

Today was a little bit cooler, but still hot. We may get some rain tomorrow and the next few days, but we will see. It seems to rain everywhere, except where I live.
I have been doing a lot better on measuring out my food and eating the right kind, but boy, do I have a problem with carbohydrates.
With it being so hot, I have been craving skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. I only have one left, but at least I didn't eat them all at the same time. It's amazing, in the winter when it is cold and snowy (if any) I don't even want ice cream.

Today, I am out of the 180's, again, after a brief setback. I have been in the high 180's for years and it feels good to log something in the 170 weight range. It also feels good on this short 5' 3" frame.

I can't wait to reach the 160's!
