I love the Internet.
Steel cut means 30 minutes to cook, so not exactly the American Way style cooking. BUT- higher in fiber, more nutrients, and the higher fiber means they fill you up and keep you going longer. They take longer to digest, and keep blood sugar level longer.
Like that.
Plus... I think they taste better than Instant.
Instant Oats are like having flaked potatoes instead of cooking and mashing your own.
But- at 30 minutes to cook, I cook a week or twos worth, and then keep them in plastic bowls in my fridge. No way I want to just cook one days worth at a time. SO, like I said- since they take 30 minutes, I really cook 'em up good. It makes cutting up the apples and stuff worth while.

Today has been hectic for me, someone erased my password on another site. It was probably the tech that started a fight with me last week. Anyway, those spices sound great. I love spices, one day my sister(in law) said that was so unusual because I'm such a bland person, being Irish. That made me so mad, but she was going by my brother who she's married to who does like everything bland.
My favorite episode of House is the one in which he and the woman who is his boss are stuck togethr in a hotel room and she describes their relastionship as Mushu curry and that she had accostomed to her other, calmer spices. That's not why it's my favorite, I like the story line and I di like curry.
A friend brought me to a Thai restaurant in San Francisco. She had me order something with peanut butter sauce on it. I took one bite, ran my eyes that were watering up over the room to a man coming onto a little girl and got up practically ran out the door. I actually left because of the curry...burned worse than any spice I'd ever had, and was NOT spicy...but I heard his voice scream "She's my daughter!"

Ick, those caffeine withdrawal headaches are bad. Good news if you're trying to swear off the stuff, though ... they go away pretty quickly. :-)

Mare, I'm a HUGE fan of steel cut oats. Usually I just cook up a pot of the plain stuff and then add a little maple syrup and/or frozen blueberries when I heat up a portion. Your way sounds pretty tasty. And yes, I did know that cinnamon helps you lose weight ... at least, that's what they say. Curry, chili powder, and other volatile spices are also supposed to help. Heck, even if it's not true, it sure is a tasty thing.

Today has been NUTS...I haven't been home hardly at all, I am exhausted, and I have had a massive headache since I got up this morning, it won't go away no matter what....I think it is a caffeine withdrawal headache now, but I am trying to avoid the Mt Dew because I know if I drink one I won't want to stop!!!!

I've been addicted to steel cut oats... with cut up apples, raisins, cranberries, flax seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardomen. I make a HUGE pot (about 10 servings at a time), so I really take time to cook it up right. I haven't felt deprived about eating the same thing over and over, my body is happy, and I feel full for hours.
Did you know cinnamon helps us to lose weight?

I don't do the cereal thing much anymore. But speaking of fiber, I'm pretty happy with these multigrain tortillas I just bought that have TWELVE grams of fiber in them - and they actually don't taste like cardboard! I had a wrap for lunch ... some leftover beef & mushrooms, light sour cream, spinach and tomatoes. Yummers.

Flying back home to NC tomorrow, if I can catch a plane. Geez, it's hard to fly standby during spring break season.

I started my morning with getting my man ready for work. Then I turned on the computer and news, and breakfast was fiber one cardboard cereal with 2 extra small bananas and skim milk. My morning started @ 4:46am. I am waiting to hear official word of memphis coach calipari coming to uk wildcats.

Actually these marks are forming scabs so maybe it wasn't a stretch mark after all...I'm not yet thin enough to be able to see it without looking in the mirror.

I know, I know. There are not enough facial cremes and collagen masks to hide the way losing weight makes me look. I have an older sister who has always looked perfect facially, I think she gets botox regularly. She shows up everyt few weeks looking better and giggling saying her life has made her look the way she does and not to be jealous. Kind of like the 'Don't hate me because I'm beautiful' commercial that ran in the 80's. I just smile and think "Why, there are so many OTHER reasons to hate you honey...".
My eyes are the worst though...then again I had lasik surgery and the doctor told me that with my prescription my eyes would look older when he was done. Turns out the prescription I had aged the skin around my eyes because it was so strong.

Stretch marks sometimes show up more when we shrink- they are caused by the gain, though.
Still- I'm going to look SO much older as I lose the last of this weight. I lost the 4 chins (mostly), and losing that face weight means... you got it, now I've got a million new wrinkles.
Ahh- look older- or FEEL older?
Plump hides a multitude of sins.

I did a three hour work out today, made an appointment with the dentist for tomorrow and my eyes feel like they are going to burn right through my head. It's 7:30 p.m. here and I am more tired than I think I have ever been. I noticed as i was changing into my gym clothes that I have a bright red mark on my hip, sort of like the beginning of a stretch mark. I am getting a(nother) stretch mark from losing weight? Now THAT'S sarcasm!

Hey, Possee, you know what I got to do? Fellow Sparkster Marsha, aka MyAgreement is in town. We hiked in the woods together today.
NICE!
She is prettier than her pictures. And I got to hike with her.
Did I say how much I enjoy Sparks, and meeting fellow Sparkers- and... hiking?
Tee hee.
I hiked with her for an hour- then we sat at the lake for awhile. Later I came home and did another 4 mile walk. I'm happy, and sore.

Luckily no stomach grossness here. I am sitting here on SP instead of getting dressed to go for a run/walk. I am going to do the first day of C25K (couch to 5K) podcast. Even though I am in great shape and exercise alot, I absolutely hate to run and I "cheat" like crazy. These podcasts have beeps or whatever that tell you when the minute of running or walking is up so it won't be as easy to cheat. We shall see. And we shall see whether I ever get up and actually do it!!

I had gastroentiritis for two weeks..........nothing would stay in me............you'd think I'd be wasting away, but my thrifty metabolism kicked in and stored away everything it could.......I lost 4lbs in 2 weeks of not eating, hell I can do better than that on a diet!!!!!!!!

Once I got a call from somone at a different credit card company asking me why I had reported a woman in Ohio's card stolen. I had reported my card stolen three times in the last month because...well it was stolen. But I told him it was my card, maybe he meant to call another number. It seems they sent me out a duplicate card from a woman in Ohio and when she called to complain that someone in California was using her card I almost choked. I had just received the replacement card the day before and it hadn't been used but I had asked that my number be changed. Her sister, who worked for the company had told me she knew the perfect number. It seems she gave me her sister's number for some reason, but the machine should have caught that.I heard all this being talked about in the background. I asked to talk to his supervisor, he was obviously reading from a script of a conversation that had gone on somewhere besides on the phone. I pointed this out and his supervisor said "How would you know that?"
He had just incriminated the entire company I replied.
I was in a hurry to go somewhere so never did anything about that one. I also had no idea what I could do.

I am taking a drama class this semester and if they were stil harassing me I would be insane. I actually had one rep say to me 'How are you intending on feeding your children without using our card?' I replied I had no children and he replied 'Well, most of your Saturday night purchses were done at supermarkets, I assumed to feed your kids so they wouldn't wake up while you were at the bar.' I asked him if he knew who he was calling and it became a tirade about how lucky I was that I didn't have children or they would surely be taken away with the hideous parenting skills I had exhibited in previous conversations with other csr's at his bank.
I knew then what was wrong. I hadn't been PARENTING their telephone harassers enough. I started to tell him how sorry I was about his childhood and he screamed in the phone "If you don't have children who are Isis and Bast?"
A greek cat-god and his caretaker I replied and hung up. Oh yeah, also the two cats I adopted five years ago but...

My bank woould phone me on my cell and landline. I changed my cell phone number and put the bank's number in my phone book so it ID'd them when they rang so I could ignore it. Even so they were phoning about 4 times a day!!!!!
I did once answer and when they asked for personal information to confirm who I was I told them I wouldn't give out that kind of information over the phone. They then said if I didn't then they couldn't continue the phone call................fine by me, it was YOU who phoned ME!!!!! D*ckheads!!!! lol

I enjoy using the comedy technique of self-deprecation - but I'm not very good at it.

when I go to the gym I suppose all I do is Body Sculpying and swimming. Hey, a whole day has gone by and i am beginning to feel better! My migraines have been intense during the telephone harassment, I was with a debt repayment firm and they were still harassing me. That's why it went to court. I had a driver for the service I use tell me that he just stopped using his cards or answering the phone and eventually his father just said he dissapeared we don't know where he is at. And he has no idea what happened or didn't happen to his credit, he doesn't use it. Anyway, the harassment was phone and mail and just aggravated my nerves so badly I had medical problems it was aggravating.

Body sculpting (or BS as I call it) is weight and resistance training.

The little puppy is a total lap dog and they are both spoiled and not housebroken. Really "pissing" me off.

Well hello EXERCISETCHR!

Body sculpting eh? Interesting.

We have a miniature dacshund in the family and I have to babysit her once in a while. She's a spoiled rotten lap dog. Now I love dogs and I don't mind them being in my lap but this little sh*t wants to be held ALL THE TIME.

New here and loving it already! And I thought I was sarcastic! One of kids' first full sentences was "Mom, are you being sarcastic?" said in a very cute toddler way.

Anyway, went to spinning class and body sculpting this morning. We are taking care of "guest" dogs while our dogsitter is away and they are driving us nuts -- two miniature dachshunds. Weird dog like creatures but long and short. Bizarro.

these people love to harrass over the phone. They are like bullies with mostly threats, but even in lawsuits, it dont amount to much more than ruining your credit, especially if you dont have much. I quit talking to them for now because unless u pay them off, they are not interested in sane talk. When they call, hang up on them or they will fill your voice mail up and you waste time deleting machine recordings.
