I'm in Southern MD and we had no major damage to our house-just branches. But the development we live in had major trees, light poles, and wires down. We have no power and it could be Thursday before it comes back. I am back to work because they have power. So while I'm here I have internet access.

no major damage here either! We lost half of a large tree, but if fell away from the house so no major damage and Dh is happy with all the fire wood he'll have for the winter! lol

I ran a bunch of errands this morning, getting the last minute school supplies. Just spent the last hour or so cleaning off my desk, balancing my checkbook, filling out forms for school and cleaning up around the office.

I I increased my 'speed' today while walking and it felt like I'm getting closer to my wish of being able to run and run a race. Does that sound crazy? Oh, well if it does, because I've had what would have been a stressful day today and I'm so pleased with myself I'm just sailing through the day. Yay for me.

We lost power for about 5 hours yesterday, and we had a tree uprooted in the backyard. It landed against another tree, so no major damange. Lots of branches down, but other than that, nothing major!

I walk for 10 min. before work, on break, and on lunch. I also walk a great deal at work from one end of the building to the other delivering invoices, making copies, scanning, etc. There are days, like today where I sit alot due to meetings and the steps just aren't going to be there. I also pace while on the phone. Amazing what you can add up talking.

Would you please let me in on your secret!! How on earth do you reach 10,000 in a day??
Do you walk all day? I'm fairly active, walk dogs everyday, clean house, let dogs in and out all day, still can't get even close. emoticon

Don't let your weigh in get you down!! Keep in mind how close you got to 10,000 steps and try again to get there. The fact that you got close to 10,000 is awesome.

I almost made 10,000 steps yesterday. If I had gotten off the couch and walked, instead of watching the tube and grazing, I would have made it. Weigh in will be terrible this week.

The webcam is an awesome option! That wasn't available when my daughter and I were separated. I sure wish it had been!! My son lives away with two of my grandchildren and we have fun getting to "talk" to each other that way. The youngest is 3 and he just jambers away on it. It helps to see them "in person"!! Congrats on keeping up with the power walking. Yesterday I did a 40" workout in the pool. I am trying to get into the exercise habit! Time for me to get ready for work, too! Trina

Thank you both for your words of encouragement. I had her set me up with the webcam before she left. I figured if I could see her face to face on the computer it wouldn't feel like she was so far away. I did power walk again yesterday. It seems to really help me. Hope everyone has a great day. Must get ready for work now. emoticon

Mamabeck, I understand your pain!! When I moved from Missouri to Dallas, Texas my daughter informed me she was pregnant with my first grandchild. I would not be there for the day to day excitement of her pregnancy. She was going to be 14 hours away from me. I thought my heart would break in two!!

That is when I first starting emailing (1998) as my husband and son-in-law both said we could not talk on the phone every day like we had been! We managed to stay very close, even long distance.

Keep losing that weight and you'll have something positive to tell your daughter when you talk!!

AW -MamaBeck - I can relate to how you are feeling - my daughter moved away from me, and I thought my life couldn't go on, but it did and even though she lives 6 hrs away, I keep in touch through internet and I also go visit as often as I can.
Keep up that power walking, it will do you good.
Hugs, Flo

I made a card for our daughter who is moving out of state. We are having the family over tonight to spend time with her. My heart is breaking. I also made a get well card for a friend this week. I actually lost weight finally and I should be happy. I power walked yesterday to work through my sadness. Think I will do the same today. It seems to help.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Legalplusfive! I know the team kind of slacked over the summer, but it's time to get us back in shape- both as a team AND physically! :)

Today was a pretty lazy day here. I got to just lounge around in bed and watch TV for a while this morning, and then I did a couple things around the house. My inlaws came over to swim, but with the cloudy skies, thunder in the distance, and the pool temp of 78 degrees, that didn't last long!

Then my daughter had a friend sleep over- in fact, they both just got in trouble and got a lecture from me. Ah.... the joys of girls.

Tomorrow is church, some family time, then time to work at a Tastefully Simple party! Then we're going to our local ice cream shop- The Jigger Shop! :)

I haven't been scrapping at all since Nov of last year since this headache started. I have changed rooms with my daughter and now I have a new scrap room to get used to. Kory goes into Kindergarden this Sept so I will have some time during the days to get some things done with no kids at home. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on what I haven't been able to get to and plus this summers camping trips... I really miss talking to you all! It's been really crazy here!

Scrapping for me hasn't happened since June! I still have another week of school after this one is over and then... my kids go back! Sometime between now and then I have to find time to do some school clothes shopping... I think I need a vacation from the hectic summer I've had!!!

I've been crazy busy, too! I am SOOO looking forward to vacation in September! I actually did get to crop yesterday - - - only because it is a crop I host at my church. I got 17 pages done and felt pretty good about that. A crop weekend coming up in one more week, hopefully I get a lot done then. Happy back to school for you teachers out there (and Moms who've had the kids home all summer).

I'm also still working on my daughter's wedding invites and also getting soon to be here grandbaby's album started. Whew! I also went to CO to visit my cousin and teach her a bit about scrappin. Yes-been busy-

What a crazy, busy summer it's been! School starts here in my part of Pennsylvania in a few weeks, and I will get back to posting more regularly!

In the meantime, I've been reading all the posts on here, and I hope this team continues to be one of your favorites! :)

Who has been scrapping lately? Sadly, I haven't scrapped since early July. :( I have made a few cards, though!
