I understand, there are some I can't eat, I was off bananas as they made my stomach hurt. I was at a dinner and someone was talking about how they had the same problem but went to organic and it went away...guess what, same for me. Now I enjoy them when I can find organic.

I think this is one of my favorite times of year, there is fruit everywhere you look, berries, watermelons cantaloupe, peaches real soon....there I have made myself hungry!

I am still working on having a big bowl of veggies and not a big bowl of pasta with a few veggies. That pasta made my whole body hurt. This is one habit I think I can keep going. The trick is having various bags of frozen veggies available. I never seem to get around to using up fresh vegetables. They go bad before I get to them

I have to be diligent about caring for myself. 100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS is a great way for me to keep focused. Day 1 is July 1, 2017. Build habits to produce success. Most of these habits I have at least tried before but did not sustain. First habit: delay eating by using a timer.

I was very tired today and sore. I didn't want to just lay around and eat though. I went to pick up a prescription and the pharmacist asked how I was. I told her how exhausted I felt. She suggested water. SURE, I thought... but I drank some anyway... quite a bit and I DID feel better, especially after I paired it with fruit.

Life is happening now, not 10 pounds from now.

I get days like that. I love an apple and two TBS peanut butter for dipping, I know it is a bit higher in calories, but it is satisfying and therefore keeps me for looking for something else.

Got the munchies tonight... So I ate some lean protein, took a cinnamon/chromium supplement , and settled in to watch one of my favorite movies by scented candle. Feeling better already. Discovering thAt cough drops seem to help sudden cravings.

Life is happening now, not 10 pounds from now.

Sheryl .... We had a blast yesterday. The other grandma thought to bring water guns and the kids ran all over the place drowning each other with the water. I told her she was trying to rake in the favorite grandmother points emoticon She brought bubbles to the party yesterday emoticon

We have a lot of packing to accomplish today in our bedroom. Just about everything that didn't have a place from the closets was put into our bedroom. So today we have boxes, tape, and my trusty marker ready to box up everything and head to storage..... emoticon

We are done with 1 birthday party and have the last one today. Twins are awesome but now that they are 7, they want their own independence. So we had one yesterday and one today. Of course the criticism was ramped for having 2 parties on a holiday weekend but so be it!

I know, I was shocked too! I think you have to have the test while the event is happening, but not sure. I refused all meds as I think sometimes they cause more harm than goo. Water is key and keep the protein down. I do not remember if I mentioned the book the China Study or not, but it talks MDRs and how they are determined. Protein was determined by the amount in the American diet at the time. This study compared it to the amount of proteins in diets where the people had the least amount of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity which interestingly enough are cluster diseases. these people eat much less protein than the average American and 90 percent of the protein they eat if from plants.
I found this book very eye opening it was written in 2006 and is now out on kindle for a little over 9 dollars.

Instead of pasta, I have been trying hard to have a bowl of mixed vegetables. I bought some bags of frozen veggies for this. It seem to be working. I have much less all over body pain. emoticon emoticon


Shoulder pain, of course, is still bad. Waiting till July 3 for another cortisone shot for that. Hope this shot actually helps.

Hi everyone. My foot pain is a bit lessened today. Sheryl, I am in shock as I read your note on uric acid due to protein overload because I have been drinking a high protein drink daily for a few weeks which is when my foot pain began and I ran out yesterday and today my pain is a bit better. Could be the swelling being down but that is definitely something for me to get tested for. Isn't that gout? Anyway thank you for telling me about it. :)
Deb, you are so right about a lot of water in makes the water go out. It flushes our system. Weird yes but true. :) Thank you for the reminder.

BETH .... I'm having my Glucerna shake and my red grapefruit slices for breakfast.

DEB .... Woo Hoo! That's awesome!

ALICIA .... I have a lot of pain when I retain a lot of fluids as well. I really have to read labels and cut out the sodium when I am holding my water. Don't forget to ask your DR. about drinking your water to flush out your body. It doesn't seem possible but when I drink my water I loose the extra fluids.

It's suppose to be a beautiful day today and I have 2 birthday parties to get ready for. I want to go get a little fruit and FF whip cream to take as a sweet while the others are munching out on cupcakes. Every small change makes a difference right?!
I may not be doing everything I am suppose to be doing every minute of everyday but I am trying to make a change by taking baby steps emoticon

Alicia, I would suggest you ask for a uric acid test. Imagine my surprise when I went to the dr. with pain in my instep and top of the foot to find I had high uric acid. This is usually caused by eating too much protein. I had been eating a protein bar (25 grams) for breakfast each am. The protein suggested daily ion the american diet is way too high. (The China Study) It was determined based on the amount of protein in the average diet when these amounts were determined....this from a country that eats a very large amount of meat.
Sorry for the lecture, but do have your levels checked.

Thank you for your kind words Chris. Yes Sheryl, the fruit is so good this time of year. I love strawberries and they are so sweet and yummy right now. Well I went to the dr. yesterday and my whole body was swollen and my blood pressure was 140/110 so I was put on medication and she said she thinks my pain in the top of my foot is related to the swelling due to my high blood pressure. I took one pill yesterday when I got home and I weighed myself this morning and was 5lb lighter. Wow, that's a lot of fluid. I am a bit concerned about retaining all that water. Today my foot and body pain is still at an all time high so I'm wondering what's going on. I never mentioned the blood panel because when she was looking at my chart she said I had previous blood work and it came out ok. I'm calling for results of the past labs tomorrow. Chris are you doing gluten free or something? You mentioned that when you ate pasta you had lots of pain. I really think this could be one of my pain issues. I would love more info if you don't mind? My blood work report came back. My A1c had gone down from 6.9 to 5.9. My cholesterol and triglycerides were both lower also. They were in the normal range to begin with, but are in the lower end of the normal range now. Woohoo hope my a1c is even lower at my next six month checkup. I'm a working on it, anyhow.

If you don't want to keep starting over, don't give up in the first place.

I am having an extra amount of pain today, too. I think it is caused by a big bowl of pasta salad I had at a local restaurant. I really wanted a big bowl of veggies with a little pasta in it. I did not realize they had made it with all pasta. Darn. I hope by this evening this pain is gone. I hate it.

Alicia .... I did that once when I went to the ER for an allergic reaction one night. It ended up being my potassium levels so your Dr. will probably do a blood panel and if not, then ask for one just to be sure.....

The weather has been amazing here in south Texas.... I have been having a few medical issues but I think I will survive emoticon

Good Morning. I have one day of good eating in. I am so going to do this this time. I have a fitbit and my goal is 7000 steps for now but have only been getting 6500. I have been in so much pain. The tops of my feet burn, both my knees hurt and one is plastic. My back and body, shoulders and even my wrists hurt. I am not sure whats going on. This has been going on for a couple weeks off and on but yesterday I could barely move. I forced myself. I do have fibromyalgia but have never had pain like this. I am not sure if it's all my weight, the fibro is getting worse, or something else. If anyone can relate please let me know. I'm going to my Dr. tomorrow. I would be happy if it was my weight because that would mean I have a chance to be pain free by losing it.

SHERYL .... I so look forward to taking long walks in the trees and nature. Of course my chair will need to go with me but that's a small issue!

Well bad news on the RV this week....
The parts and repair department called and informed us that the RV won't be ready until after the 15th of June. Yeah, we were a little upset but we want this travel trailer in the best condition that it can be and with all the work being done free, who can complain?!

It has been a long time since I posted. I am doing really good. Dr .is please with my BP 115/66.
Cholesterol 178. A1c 7.3 could be lower. Now I m working on my weight. Such a battle to fight but I will get to my goal.

I went for my six month checkup today. LOL I blowed my doc away with my weight loss. My bp today was 122/66. He lowered two of my bp meds today. woohooooooooooooooooooooooooo It is my hope to be able to get off of them completely. Woohoo that is the best bp I have had in 7 years.

If you don't want to keep starting over, don't give up in the first place.

SHERYL .... I know just how you feel.... UGH, I need to get back on track and get my Budunkadunk (my bottom) in gear!

Mothers Day was a good day with a trip to the National Forest and the lake there with 4 of our grandchildren. We didn't do much but to be honest I hadn't planned on anything. I WANTED a day of NOTHING to do and that's almost what I got with a side trip here and there.....
It rained heavy all night and water is everywhere! A lot of flooded streets and yards! I pray everyone made it to work ok and that they are very cautious on the return trip home...... We really needed the rain and got 5 inches from 11pm until 6 am.

Good Morning all, I agree Sheryl, it was a great weekend. Mothers Day is a pretty great time for family and friends to relax. If we don't have our mom with us anymore it is a wonderful time for memories. I was OK on calories as there is tons of yard work to get at and my flower beds need LOTS of love so I think I probably came out on the good side. Drink lots of water today and do some extra walking and you will turn the tables. Have a fun day. Jude

I had a wonderful and aweful weekend both at the same time, Mother';s Day was awesome, but I over ate both Sat and Sun, did not exercise at all. I am really going to have to work hard now to make up for it.

DLLynn, take care of yourself. stop and talk to us when you get time. Florida for sure is a beautiful place and you must have had great friends. When you have real friends, for sure they always accept you for who you are and what a great feeling that leaves us with. That is why SP is so good, we love each other for what we are and help us get where we want to be. Good luck on your journey. Deb, what a wonderful accomplishment! I am so envious of a person that puts so much time and thought into what they want to accomplish in their life. To look that far ahead and know that you have 100 pounds to lose is beyond my human thoughts. I for one am so proud of you. I know some people like me only have 30 to 40 pounds to lose and never accomplish it so they just quit. Well when I started I was determined that no matter what I did, I WOULD NEVER STOP TRYING! I have only lost 13 pounds so far but it is 13 pounds I hope I never see again. You are an inspiration. Thanks so much. Jude

I just want to give up on the stress and drama and go back to Florida where I was loved for who I was.

Today makes me 8 months of eating healthy. I have lost 77.2 lbs so far. I have 4 more months to lose 22.8 lbs to meet my goal of losing 100 lbs in one year. emoticon

I will be going to a mother/daughter supper at the church tomorrow evening. Sunday will be going to see my mom. I am having a great week so far. Maybe all this sunshine we have had has perked me up. I have gotten in 3 hours of aqua jogging this week, plus 7 miles on the stationary bike. I haven't gotten in this much exercise, in a weeks time, since coming back to spark. I have stayed in my nutriton ranges also. Some days I have had to force myself to get in my min calories. I think that is because, in hotter weather I seem to drink more water. Anyhow, I am thankful of my 5 day streak. I am a streaker lol. I joined a 21 day streak challenge of eating bingefree for 21 days. After starting over twice, I am currently on Day 6. I think the challenge of doing a streak, has been very good for me as a motivation. I don't know about any of you, but having binges is a problem for me at times. How about you?

Back to it after a whirlwind weekend, everything was beautiful, both the birthday party and the First Communion. Enjoyed my visit with the family. Catching up now.

Beth, the same to you little chickie, You are so adorable, and it sounds so strange to say to a person that I have never had the honor of meeting that I truly love them and what they do as an inspiration to people. So thanks for the WB. I think I can be part of both teams now that I know what to do as a co leader. It is fun1

One thing I came across that I am going to try as I am a sweet lover and this sounds so simple and if it works it would be great. Also, as I try to eat some honey everyday as a good health measure it would fit right in. So here is a little tip of the day from daisy. Hugs, Jude
