Happy April Team emoticon

There's nothing like family! This is a big month for family with Easter and we have lot's of family birthdays, the most important being my dad's. We have about 85 people coming to my dad's 90th birthday celebration.

Still my goal is to weigh less by the end of the month. I am wearing my pedometer and trying to get in as many steps as I can! emoticon

Good Saturday Morning Team,
Sorry I haven't been around. Life has been hectic, as usual, with the 90 minute commute, work, and home. My dad had hernia surgery this week. His birthday is April 24. He'll be 90! My birthday is the day before, April 23. We are planning a big party for him on April 21, so that has me busy too! My eating has been way off. I need my Spark time and all the support & encouragement I get here. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

you gotta think outside the box sometimes so that was a good brain puzzle.
I have had a migraine off and on for two days. Don't really feel that well but have to get my grandsons tonight for the weekend not a big deal they will watch tv or play and I can rest.
I have my finances in order now with a new financial planner so signing off on that tonight.
Got the mortgage papers signed and faxed back today.
Cleaned my grandson's room somewhat at least I have the laundry in baskets and he can bring them down later. Both him and his mother are sick with colds and bad coughs.
I guess I better go and get a couple of things together before I have to leave.
I don't have a picture on my laptop it is plugged into my daughters monitor. I am going to have work on finding the receipt or go to costco and see if they will print me up a new one so I can use the warranty. They will come to the house and fix it.

Glad you enjoyed your trip and you had a little down time from your every day chores.
I found my purse so that is great news.
I have made it to aquafit both days this week and am planning on getting there every day this week.
I am still having a bit of stomach issues but nothing major.
Went to see my DD for her birthday on Sunday and visited with a few friends.
I went to the doctor yesterday about my allergic reaction on my face and if I could get cream to stop the itching I tried it awhile ago seems to help with the itching.
I weighed in at the doctor yesterday and I am down a few more lbs. since my last weigh in but different machine again. So I am going to start a Monday morning weigh in at the doctors office and stick to that. I will use this weeks weight as my starting weight and go from there.
I have been off work the last two days early it is pretty cold but nice and sunny.
My computer is still up at my daughters she is bringing her new computer home tomorrow so I will get my laptop back and be more regular and start tracking again.
I think I am going to ask for a tablet for mothers day this year.
I better go I want to get a basketball net for the kids for easter it fits on the inside of their trampoline since they moved to the country they can't use a normal net because the driveway is gravel so no good surface to get a footing for it so this is going to be fun for them.
My van's hatch won't open the mechanic has it apart and ordered the part so hopefully it is in and can be fixed before I get the kids on Friday.
I will try to be back on again tomorrow but you never know. Take care. Teri

I am back! Five days of visiting lots and lots of family. I saw a new 2 month old baby and the almost 90 year old mother of my best friend. I saw the families of my 3 brothers and one sister. Wow, what a variety of people. There is a plan for my oldest brother (in his wheelchair) to carry the new baby down the aisle at this July's wedding for the baby's Mom and Dad. So he has to stay healthy! He has been getting pneumonia from aspirating foods. Some youngersters are starting college and traveling the world. My sister started taking in a foster child or two. That was big news. I met 3 of them. I heard about the training required for doing that. I also heard about the training requuired for volunteering with Emergency Management teams. Lots of people were kind of struggling with finances and health problems like fibromyalgia, depression, arthritis, obesity, a severe circulation problem, etc. And we visited a few family graves. All in all, it was a fantastic visit. I am so glad I was able to go. DH was cared for by his youngest brother. They cooked NO FOOD that I had left. I guess the 2 guys had take out all week.

My recent 3 blogs tell more about the trip.

It is good to be back even if I had a crown put in this morning already.

Congrats on using less meds that is such a big bonus with weight loss and better care of ourselves. I am not on any regular medication I take pain medication when required.
It is really cold here today probably still above our normal temps. but we really have been spoiled the last 2 weeks with July and August temps.
I had to go to emerg. on Thurs. my stomach cramps were getting worse and then I felt fevered. They gave me an enema and sent me home with more stuff to clean me out because they didn't know and couldn't find what was wrong. I am supposed to go back if it doesn't help. I will go to my family doctor I was trying to wait until Friday morning to go but when I couldn't get warm and felt fevered I thought I should get it looked at. The cramps are better but still don't feel too good and uncomfortable when I eat food. But a lot better giving it a few days and see how things are. I have an appt. on Apr.3rd with one of my doctors. I have had a headache off and on for a few days also.
I have loaned my laptop to my daughter figure her computer got taken out like everything else that took a zap in that storm. So won't be on regularly probably for the next week until she gets her computer looked at.

GETTING OFF MY BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION!
I think it is going to work this time! One week today since my last pill and BP is doing OK.
I joined SP in July 2011 and have been gradually building up the cardio. The BP med then resulted in low potassium so I can get rid of 2 prescription meds and still feel healthy...that is the whole goal of this health journey.
Still testing several times a day for the next 4 days to be sure I am OK with this as high BP is silent but so important for our kidneys

It is another beautiful day up here not sure what it is in fahrenheit but it is going up to 26 shorts and t shirt weather in March can't ask for better than that. We aren't convinced we aren't getting another snow fall before this spring is over.
I made it to aquafit still have some gas cramps not sure why.
I tracked yesterday my food I always track my exercise it is easy doesn't take any time.
I will track again today.
Still finding more damage from the lightning that hit the house it is probably why my daughters monitor is not working. It was the worst storm I can remember at least the thunder was the worst I had ever heard. My city got it really bad apparently grapefruit sized hail.
I can honestly say I don't understand your politics. In Canada they announce an election we have one candidate from each party they have 60 days to convince us who to vote for and then we vote and that is the end of it. It feels like your elections last forever with all this primary stuff etc. I am glad I don't live down there. I hate the 60 days of one saying something about the other and each bringing up stuff someone did 30 years ago.

We women struggle and struggle and shrink minimally at best. He has no exercise and hates anything looking like healthy food. the one thing he did was give up Klonkike Bars for his daily treat. I have been buying him Skinny Cow chocolate cones. Man! they are expensive. I need to find a friend with a discount store card.

I suggest you go see your doctor before you do any damage to your foot. A break can really cause issues. I know first hand I had a broken toe and continued to work no benefits. A couple months later went to the doctor and she said it wasn't healing and I had to go off work and stay off my feet for 2 weeks to give the toe a chance to heal. Then a few years later from different toe and foot injuries I had to have surgery because of floating bone chips etc. So get to your doctor when you can just to be on the save side.

Off to do laundry and housework before I go to the pool. I think I will try to leave early and stop and get all the point card replacements I forgot to do yesterday. Teri

My dad always says that voting is like choosing the lesser of two evils. I think your right. Most people want to make a positive difference, but there is so much past things to simply maintain (like the deficit and the Social Security issues) that it tends to be impossible to actually make a difference.

I wish I had a pool I could go to. Maybe, then I could swim while my toe is still hurt. I tried to walk yesterday, but it hurt and I could only do about 35min instead of 45min. I debating about going to see the dr. who did my foot surgeries and see what he says. I'm concerned if I let it go too long it will really hinder my progress and (I'm not telling anyone else) I want to enter our YMCA 4th of July race this year. I've decided I can either walk 5miles or run 2, but nothing less.

Never mistake failure as final

Deciding what you want your life to be like is not hard. Deciding what you are willing to do and give up to get it, is the hard part.

I will do what I need to do in order to do what I want to do.

What you do and say is a reflection of who you are, so decide who you want to be and do it.

My view on politics is a lot of them are just crooks but some of them actually go in thinking they are going to make a difference only to find out it is an old boys school mentality and there is nothing they can do to make any difference. Some I believe really want to make things better but then find out the mess that meets them when they get into office from previous administrations and it doesn't matter if it is local, provincial/state or federal politics.

Rhonda snow still OMG I live in Southern Ontario and all winter we probaby haven't even had as much as we usually get in one snowfall and I am loving it. It was over 20 yesterday which is our July/August temps. our normal for this time of the year is 4-6. We are in t-shirts and we should be in winter coats. The sun is shining and it is supposed to be this warm until Sat. when we are supposed to go back to our normal temps. I am enjoying it while we can because we just don't know what we will get. I can't believe we won't have another big snowfall.

I finally got my cable working this morning. Last night I was a crazy person.

I am getting things done around here and going to make it to the pool today. I am also going to try to commit to tracking my food every day this week. Starting right now won't be hard haven't eaten anything yet. I better go do that right now.

Hello everyone. We have snow in our high desert home. Dogs loved our outing yesterday to the Anza Borrego State Park. They got a lot of romping & sniffing & chasing in! They played in the snow at a spring on the way down & on the desert floor of the park where the snow didn't stick.
We had a picnic by the indian rock.
I got plenty of exercise myself and we all enjoyed it. We still have grey skies today & lots of snow still covering everything yet & it snowed some more during the night! Not sure if it will warm up enough to melt off today or not. It's 28 at the moment.

Our gas right now is about $5 a gallon we measure in litres so I just did the conversion it changes daily but it stays around $4.90 a gallon the last few weeks. I have to fill up weekly if I go anywhere if I stay in town it lasts me 2 weeks and it costs me $120 a fillup.
I drive a minivan because I have so many kids to take places.

I am pretty much done replacing everything in my purse. I got a purse from my friend yesterday it was actually a purse I had given her. I like small purses but I need to have a certain lining. I have issues with different textures and feels. My family thinks I am weird.

I made plans while at my friends that her and I are going to take the east coast cruise sometime this summer. I will look into it today and get the info. A sparkfriend I have been talking to for years has offered her home for my DH and I to stay when we take the Alaskan cruise I am not sure if we will be there long enough to spend a night but I will visit with her and she has offered to take us to show me where I lived as a child. It is on Vancouver Island in Victoria I lived in an area called Esquimalt it is an army base or at least it was. I wish my dad was still alive so I could tell him all about the journey when I got back.

I have to take a PVR and a digital box back to cable this morning for replacement from the storm. I will finally have cable back in my room.

Beckafano sounds like it will be a nice trip and I hope you enjoy yourself. On Saturday when I went to Toronto to visit my friend I saw the pictures from her trip to New Zealand and Australia. They were beautiful she doesn't take many pictures. I don't either but what we take are usually the high points.

I guess I better go and finish up with the cards etc. and my cleaning. I am going to declutter today. I have started the freezer/dryer room..I live in the basement part of the house so this is my living space and sometimes it just gets really cluttered right now with mostly laundry that I haven't taken upstairs to my daughters yet or empty boxes. I want to do the computer room so my one grandson can sleep in here again. He does not sleep well with other people around or noise he has a hard time falling asleep. I put him in the computer room and he is off by himself and it is quiet and dark he will go to sleep faster.

Have a great week mine can only go up from here. Not sure about aquafit today m throat is starting to bother me again. I will go gargle as my friend reminded me this morning. Teri

BRAYSHOME and 1AVERY - I can't wait to see how your vacations/trips go. I love hearing about other people's vacations.

1AVERY - I have to admit I am very lucky to have a computer genius for a husband. As far as the multiple TV's go, my husband has talked about a wireless connection that hooks all the TV's to one device and it doesn't matter if people want to watch different things or the same thing in different rooms, the basic idea is that they are all 'connected' to the 'access' device and that device is what gives you the searching capabilities. It's like having several computers on one wireless network. If your honestly interested I can give you my husband's e-mail and he can tell you how simple or complicated it is.

I still don't have cable in my bedroom don't know what the problem is they said it would be fixed overnight but all the other boxes are working except this one. I thought it was the tv again but they both work fine in the living room. I will take the box back today or tomorrow.

We don't make great money so I try to save money when I can but not on cable addicted to tv. I don't watch near as much as I used to.

The computer hooked up to the tv sounds great wouldn't know how to do it and the problem is we have 6 tvs in the house with people watching all different shows so we really need cable. I have streamlined it down to 2 free PVRs and 2 free digital boxes so we just pay for the cable itself. I have internet and phone with a different company and pay $50 a month for those. I don't think I can get a much better deal.

Well I have just one calamity after another a little angry with myself for leaving my money in the bank machine this morning I can't find my purse. I have searched and searched the whole house and my van. I usually keep it under the seat so the only thing I can think of is I left it in the shopping cart at giant tiger or my van wasn't locked last night. I am usually really good at locking it but you never know. I called giant tiger they haven't opened yet but the lady will call me when the cashiers come in and hopefully it is there. I am supposed to go to Toronto today to meet a friend but I won't have any credit cards or license or anything. The money is a non issue if it is gone my loss but it is replacing everything in the purse that will be a big issue. There are so many credit cards, point cards, bank cards, and library card. License and health card. The list goes on that would take weeks. License place isn't open on Saturdays. The credit cards etc. will get here faster than the government ID. OMG just one thing after the other. I am praying I left it in the shopping cart and someone turned it in even without the money will be GREAT. I have to learn to slow down and take my time and look around. I can't go back to sleep and I was going to go to the pool but can't do that either my stomach is sick with the waiting.

I will probably still go to Toronto anyway I need to have the visit with my friend. I really can't do much about everything until Monday anyway. I will call the credit card places before I leave and cancel them all if I don't find it. I have checked all my bank accounts and the one credit card that is in the front of my purse and nothing has been touched. That is a good sign because with the computers now it shows up instantly on your account.

My husband and I gave up cable a few months ago. It saved us over $60/month. We got a computer and hooked it up to the TV instead of the cable box and we can watch all of our shows (without commercials or with very few commercials) through the broadcast web-sites for free. He also (he's a computer genius) copied all of our movies onto a computer and the computer hooked to the TV streams whatever movie we want without having to change disks. I love it.

June it is hard getting back to anything after being away for awhile. I know what you mean about weekly accountability I do better when challenged or have to weigh in weekly. I am going to start doing my own weekly weigh in.

The cable guy will be here in 5 minutes. WOOHOO I still may be able to take Shannon the little boy I babysit to the library this morning for a program and I will read.

I have done a little house cleaning this morning while waiting for cable. I guess I better go put a housecoat on and make him a path down the stairs. Setting stuff on the stairs that either has to go to the van or upstairs to my daughters.

Chris there is so much you can do with ham and turkey for variety. The ham and pea/bean mix sounds good.

Winning the lottery sure sounds good right now! Since retiring, I have been cutting down on expenses. Now, Id better just cut my grocery bill, too. we can eat out of the cupboards for awhile. I had been stocking up. I told hubby he will be eating ham and turkey for awhile. I have a huge ham and a big turkey in the freezer right now. I bought a 13 bean soup mix for the ham scraps. Teri, emoticon on your 4 lb weight loss and getting to the aqua aerobics. I am re-joining Weight Watchers tomorrow. I stopped when I had my knee replacement this past October and did not go back. Hi Everyone

It is good to see so many of us on the same team. I think as we get older we just tend to do more to ourselves. I spend as much time down as I do up. There are a few sparkfriends and I that joke about wrapping ourselves in bubble wrap we may not get hurt but I don't know how we would get back up we would just roll around on the ground wouldn't we.
I have made it to aquafit 3 times this week and will get there again tomorrow. WOOHOO!!!
I am making good choices and I weighed myself today on a different scale and am down 4 lbs. I am not getting excited until I weigh myself on the same scale next week then I will know for sure that it is going in the right direction.
I didn't win the 13 mill last night I still have the 50 mill on Friday night so I could still be a millionaire yet.
I took the kids home last night.
We had a terrible storm this morning I have never heard thunder like this before. I think my house may have been hit a little by the lightning. My cable went out during a big crack and the cable went out in the area it is fixed but not at my house. They can't get out until tomorrow morning. I have my internet with a different provider thank goodness because my 17 year old grandson would be really upset. He is mad because he is going to miss March madness but at least he went onto my wireless and can play his video games his mothers wireless is out too. We can watch our recordings on the PVR so that will get her caught up.
I have a movie to watch Old Dogs with Tim Allen and Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I watched Gnomeo and Juliet this morning it was a really cute movie. I love kids movies.

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one...............

The worst thing was in Toys R Us years ago. I spent a couple of hours shopping and had a basket filled. I left it to get something and a clerc had put the stuff back! I got my stuff back and the same thing happened! I could see the newspaper headlines:

AVERY! - It happens to everyone. I once got $60 out of the ATM and then left my purse in a town 1 hour away. By the time I got back, the purse was there, but the money wasn't. The saddest part is that I think it was the employees of the restaurant that took it, not another customer. But there was nothing I could do about it.

BRAYSHOME - Oh, my goodness, I sprained my ankle once and it was a long recovery. At least I know I'm not he only one who gets injured doing every day stuff. And the dropping stuff over and over, I think I do that about every other day ...at least! It seems like I can't drop something once, I have to do it at lease two or three times, sometimes even more.

I had a wonderful chat written up and it went out to cyber space somewhere I hate when that happens because I usually don't have time to redo it or don't feel like it.

I wanted to do housework while the kids were gone today but that didn't happen. I sat in my van and talked to my sister for about an hour. Went in to get groceries and stopped at the bank machine to get $100 and I left the $100 in the machine someone thought woohoo!!! my lucky day. I was checking my bill and they charged me full price for something so went in to show them and it is also the lottery booth. I don't buy tickets often and thought I will get one for the $50 million draw on Friday night. It was really busy and I listened and thought I will get a rock, paper and scissors one for $3 you can win $10 easily. I thought I will get a $2 poker ticket and WOOHOO!!!!! won $75 instant win could still win more tonight in the draw so that cheered me up only down $25 now.

I can't tell my kids about the $100 they want to commit me already. No fear there who would do the babysitting, laundry and all the running around and phone calls for them.
I have to go get the kids shortly and it is a beautiful warm day today so they will probably want to go to the park or something. I will see what the lady I babysit wants to do with her son she likes to keep him busy but sometimes after working all day she just wants to go home. I don't blame her yesterday that was my day and it was rainy so came right home and they watched movies and got baths.

Terri, I couldn't keep up with you either. Thanks for the suggestion on the pool exercises. I wish I had access to a pool without having to pay a tone for some kind of membership. I've been trying to talk my husband into one of those 'revolving' pools, because he's a swimmer and it's his favorite exercise, but he keeps making excuses.

Limiting computer time surly should be one of my goals. I sit way too much!


Today U-verse from ATT will replace comcast.

Pros: the TV will be much improved. And I will be able to copy programs and replay them and skip the commercials.

It is cheaper for awhile.

CONS:
-When they warn me of a price increase, I have to remember to call them and get a lower price. the salesman told me this.

-My computer guru says Comcast still has faster internet even though U-verse is fiber optic.
that is so hard for me to believe. Maybe fiber optics is faster but maybe the connection from the street to our house is the 'old' copper wiring and that can't go any faster.

-ATT has lousy customer service. I needed help switching emails from comcast to gmail and so I called ATT customer service. So, I tried it out and yup, it is true.

-changing companies and email when I am overwhelmed by paperwork and phone calls and hubby's OT/PT appts. was pretty dumb!

If possible you can always try pool exercises. It wouldn't be so sure the toe isn't broken they break so easy and it wouldn't hurt to have an x-ray if you have coverage. I live in Canada so take a lot for granted where healthcare is concerned. We are starting to lose some of our coverage lately but not x-rays or every day stuff yet.
I haven't really replaced them with anything I just stay away from them will not bring them in the house. I love fruit and yogurt and that is usually enough if I don't have the culprits in the house.
I was busy again today. Two of the kids didn't wake up until 9:30 and we had to leave around 10 for the library. Got home gave them lunch and then took them to day camp and I went to the pool. Picked them up right after the pool came home a friend dropped by that had been in Florida for a month. Gave them dinner and baths and they are watching a movie and I am going to put a movie on for DH and I to watch. Not sure if it will be Footloose which I saw at the theatre and was very uplifting and fun. Or I don't know how she does it haven't heard any reviews on it so not sure if it is any good. Tomorrow will be much the same except no pool for me so will do housework and laundry. The pool is closed on Tuesday that is sad. I was pumped to get there everyday.
I haven't tracked but going to give myself a reprieve until after the kids go home because my days are jampacked. I have been eating ok so not to concerned. I will have to do a new weigh in and get started.

While on the treadmill yesterday, the belt slipped and I fell. However the treadmill is in the corner of the room so my other foot got stuck between the wall and the end of the treadmill and the belt 'pulled' my foot under it. My big toe hurts like crazy. I'm sure it isn't broken, but it has a nasty bruise and is swollen. So, I'm gonna have to work on changing the treadmill set-up. I was also wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to do until my toe heals. I don't want to quit walking, but I don't want to damage the toe either.

Hi Team,
I hope the day bring some sunshine & relief to everyone. I spent week dealing with pain myself, even going to the emergency room. The doctors were trying to decide if was my gall bladder or something muscular. I will have an ultra sound next Sat. It seems to be muscular, but they want to rule out the gall bladder for sure. The x-ray showed what I knew that I have arthritis I my spine. Just add it to the arthritis in my knees, ankles, & hips! All the more reason to get this weight off!

I hope you feel better soon ECO and Chris.
I have been having a lot of more pain body aches and pains than normal the last few weeks. I am not sure if it is my fibro or what.
I had a busy day yesterday took the kids to Home Depot for just before 11. Then brought 2 home and took 2 to the park for 40min. Home to feed the 4 of them then off to pick up another one and to the concert for kids at the library. Stayed until 4 and then home and then over to a friends with the 5 kids for pizza and play. Stayed until 8 brought them home got them ready for bed. Started watching Gnomeo and Juliet it froze turned it off and watched Marketplace a Canadian show that talked all about travel insurance not being covered very enlightening I will be ready when I travel. Hard time falling asleep had a headache most of the day. Fell asleep and the 3 year old woke up with a fever at 2 actually 3 now. DH came wondering in about 3:30 AM and then 3 year old talked and played until the medicine finally kicked in around 4 or so. I fell asleep at 5 daughter sent me text at 8 and I was already 15 minutes late for work babysitting a 7 year old boy. Grabbed the 3 year old and ran. Left the other 3 with DH. Came back around 10 and the 2 boys had just woke up the girl. Fed them and they did their thing I have laundry going, dishes in the sink and DH is snoring away. I am going to 4 of them ready to go back to where I babysit leave the one 9 year old girl here with DH and will get her later she doesn't like noise and chaos very bad place to be if that is the case. My sanity doesn't have a much longer life span right now.
Better run now and pack up the food and stuff for the day. Headache pills will be in the mix. I am probably going to take some tylenol or advil for body pain. So I should get some exercise today it is beautiful and only going to get nicer. So probably take them to the park for awhile. Have a great day and start the week off right. I didn't track my food yesterday just too busy no time. I did good. I have 2 chocolate bars in my purse that I keep forgetting to take out. So that is a good sign. I haven't had any sweets other than fruit for 3 days now. WOOHOO!!!! Teri

Well, it is Sunday and a new week. It is Sunday, isn't it? I get really confused . Not going to work daily can make all days seem the same. I am continually checking the date at the bottom of my computer screen.

I changed Internet providers and that meant changing my email. Oh Lordy! that gets really complicated! I had help finally and it seems to be working fine. Tuesday is the big day when I totally lose my old email.

I am having major, major pain in my shoulders, neck and upper arms.I had Tylenol in me and had pain patches on. Usually that takes care of it. Last night I considered going to the emergency clinic nearby. Then I used the big S-hook thing --hope you know what I mean. I did that for a good 40 minutes. then my husband (bless him) with his good arm massaged my upper back. All that helped.

This morning it is normally sore but not at all like last night.

I think the spine has arthritis and then the muscles and nerves get involved and aggravated.

Have a great Sunday everyone. We sure do have our ups and downs, don't we!

I didn't do well at all yesterday. I had no energy, was sore from exercise earlier in the week and developed a sore throat and a stuffy nose. I haven't been sick in such a long time that I don't even remember the last time. I didn't feel like cooking so just ate whatever junk my husband had laying around. I'm hoping that another day of rest will get me back on my feet. Meanwhile, I'm going to go make some tea. I did get most of my garden planted this week.

Spring has sprung and so has our incentive.
It is true you do what works for each of us. It will be different and as long as we are motivated we can do it.
I was on yesterday but forgot to chat did some sparkmail to a few of our members.
I also and this is a WOOHOO!!!!!! tracked my food for the first time in a long time. I am not going to worry so much about the range as making sure I eat healthy and am happy with myself. I have to go weigh myself maybe Monday morning at the doctor and then start weighing in every Monday morning.
I have my 3 grandchildren until Wed. so I will be busy keeping them busy. I am hoping to get to aquafit every afternoon while they are at day camp. It will be rushed but I can do it.
DH was just fixing the bathroom sink so will get something to eat. Maybe oatmeal or something else that fits into my healthy eating plan. Taking kids to home depot to build every 2nd Sat. of the month home depot offers these for kids. They enjoy it DH usually comes to help also I always have 3-5 kids with me.
I better go and call the library to see what time I can pick up tickets for this afternoons concert taking 6 kids. Then we will come home and have a nice peaceful evening.

You folks are giving me incentive to try harder today. I have been slipping. OK--I will go have my healthy oatmeal, walnuts, raisins, and chia seed breakfast. It is filling . So I should be OK till lunch. I will look for a nice spark recipe for dinner tonight. (Last night I slipped badly and ordered a pizza.) Pizza is a sign I need to rein myself in. Chris emoticon

Yesterday was a GREAT day. My brother got out of jail the day before yesterday and yesterday morning he texted me to ask if I could pick him up and take him to church / Celebrate Recovery with me. I was so ecstatic that I was going to be able to spend time with my brother and that he seems to be making great choices the moment he got out of jail. I love my family so much and I want good things for them. I just keep praying for them every day.

Hi everyone,
I'm doing very well. I've lost 7 pounds since December when I made the decision to go low carb. With taking the weight off more slowly than in the past, I'm hoping I can keep it off. Since going low carb, evening binging has ceased to be a problem. I sometimes have a snack in the evening if I am hungry. I was tracking my food consistently and often was low on calories so would eat a snack to get into the correct range. I haven't been tracking the past couple weeks because it just takes too long. Because I live in a motorhome, I have satellite internet with limits on how much I use and the Spark pages load really slowly because they have so much stuff on them. So I'm cutting back to just logging food occasionally. I have a pretty good sense by now of how much to eat. I know this plan isn't for everyone but it is what works for me.

I am so happy to see so many people saying HI.
I am still having a hard time today but better than the last few so tomorrow can only get better.
In 3 days I have decided on 3 different eating plans. I went to a weight loss place that wanted me to eat only protein. I tried it for a day and my stomach felt so heavy I couldn't do it. I was just trying a 2 week free trial. So stopped that.
A sparkfriend is on Dr. Fuhrman's eating plan for 6 weeks no meat and only 1 cup a day of oatmeal and all the rest is fruits and veggies and 1 cup of beans a day. She lost 30 lbs. in a short time and 5 inches off her waist. After 6 weeks you can have meat again.
Then I watched Dr. Oz and kinda liked Chris Powells plan High Carb Day then Low Carb day and the 7th day you eat what you want but out of the house and don't bring any of your guilty pleasures into your home you will eat it.
I ordered the book from the library and if I like it I will buy it. I always lose weight when I track on sparkpeople it keeps me motivated. So back to tracking my food daily.
I track my exercise. I have most of the food I eat already in the tracker so it really doesn't take much time.
I like challenges so maybe I will challenge myself to start on Monday and to track my food everyday for a week. Anyone else want to give themselves a reasonable challenge.
Let the team know and we can support each other on our journey to a happier and healthier us.
I want to start sending out a motivational or inspirational quote or story at least once a week. I will send it to the whole team via e-mail anyone that wants to opt out you can delete my name or something so you don't get it from me.

Just stopping in to say hi! I'm having a hard time right now. It's been months and months and I just can't lose this weight I put on in Oct. A roller coaster ride up and down and yesterday and today I have cravings that are driving me crazy. I want a binge but I am not letting myself do it. I decided to eat a bit more of the healthy stuff than I usually do and see if it calms the monster and to counter that, I went swimming for an hour for exercise. I've got a bit of stress going on and perhaps that's doing it. Whatever, this too shall pass.

Hi!! It's a nice day here in New Jersey, though I can hear the wind HOWLING. I have a four day trip (work) coming up, then I'm on jury duty for a week and a half. All of this disrupts my routine, and routine is what keeps me on "the wagon". At least when I'm in a hotel I can't wander into the kitchen and mindlessly shovel in the food!
