I don't like a lot of ketchup- just a little taste is enough. My DH uses tons of it on his hamburger. yuck.

Full Day Saturday

B - One whole Avocado smashed with hot sauce mixed in- Lime wedge..
Coffee

L- One whole can of sardines in EVOO
celery sticks
1/2 small carrot- made sticks ( NoNo carrot not Keto)
5 radishes

3PM Hot tea with lemon

D- 4 ounces Fried/broiled Salmon with a mixture of Dill, butter & Dijon mustard spread on top.
Roasted asparagus in EVOO

maybe Later: dill pickles/ green olives. Peppermint tea.

Thank you Holly for sharing with me all this information. I'm getting there now even though I haven't been able to track since that post the other day. The absolute best part of this, even though limited, what I eat is so tasty and satisfying and I DO NOT get hungry. Yesterday morning I was having chest pains severe enough I went to the ER. That was before I had eaten anything. It looks like everything was OK after thorough tests were done. I was not released until 4:30 yesterday afternoon. I had just 1 glass water while there. I was not hungry that whole time. Had a normal supper meal on the way home. I made a "fat bomb" early in the evening to bump the fats. My concern now is that I am to follow up with a cardiologist ASAP and I am hoping I don't get one that will freak out about a fat laden diet. My family doctor is totally onboard with me so I do have a call in to him now for his suggestion for a cardiologist that might be agreeable. The really good new is that the scales have finally moved down 4 lbs. I guess our Keto mantra could be "Fight fat with fat."

I’ve beem keto 3+ years lost 150 pounds and I do understand fully what you are saying about your livelihood as I own a bakery. My dad was a produce man..I lived on fruit and veg. Fruit was probably the hardest thing for me to give up but it’s all sugar so I did.
I add butter to everything. The sausage muffins had butter on them. The bagel, which is a lot of mozzarella(full fat) had lots of butter on it. The pork chop was cooked in butter and what was in the pan was poured over and consumed.
Please come to the “daily chat” thread—lots of people there who can tell you ways they add fats too

Tell me more about what makes a sausage muffin and a Keto bagel. Recipes, brands or whatever. I'm not familiar with either. I did find a cool website today "verywellfit.com". It allows you to list food combinations or recipes and it creates a nutritional label for you. This will help because I do most of my own cooking. Hardly anything from a box or can. I make a lot of homemade soups and I am adapting ingredients to make them Keto. It will take me awhile but I'll be finding out just where some of my recipes are in relation to eating Keto. Leaving out vegetables will be hard. We are lifetime farmers always growing a large garden along with a sizable fruit orchard. My husband thinks he's dying right now because I told him he needs to curb the fruits for sure. At least the Garden won't be a big issue this year. We are both facing surgeries and will be keep us immobile for a while. Is it hard for you to get your fats in? Your food list today doesn't show where all your fat came in. I obviously see where you had fat but couldn't tell quantity. Just curious, I really am trying to learn.

you need to cut the veg and up the fat. bacon..lots of it. butter. lots of it. cook EVERYTHING in butter. eggs are great. cheese has around a carb per ounce. i eat under 10 grams of carbs a day...i eat very little veg..one serving if any. they arent necessary. i just like the variety sometimes.
today i had 2 sausage muffins for breakfast at a total of 4 carbs for both of them. lunch i had a keto bagel at 3 carbs, with 2 oz of cheese for another 2 carbs. thats 9 carbs total..and i'm having a pork chop for supper, cooked in butter, for a total of 9 carbs for the day. build your meals around fat is my best suggestion. fat fills you up and will help you reach your goals. use protein sparingly..we dont need more than 50-60 grams a day. its my hardest thing to keep down as i love meat and cheese!!

I'm curious what those of you who can keep your carbs around 20 grams eat to succeed with this? Everything it seems has carbs and finding out that the fiber doesn't subtract from that is very discouraging. I really want to try to follow this accurately so that I can see how I respond. What I am free to eat on this really works as far as my tastes and satisfaction but getting the right quantities seems impossible right now. I am frying cabbage in butter and a bit of bacon fat to go with a bit of ham for supper. I am stumped as to what I can add to the meal. For myself, I could quit right there. But it won't be satisfying for my husband. He's trying to eat a modified Keto if it will work. He has eliminated sugar, bread and flour. He's cut portions. But right now his weight loss is standing still too. He needs to lose another 10 to 15 lbs. for a knee replacement surgery. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bee—net carbs has been debunked and the doc that started it has recanted and apologized.
Healthy fats: those from animal products(chicken skin, beef fat, pork fat, butter, cheese, olives and olive oil, coconut oil, some nuts, avocado oil)
My cholesterol is 132. Most see a reduction in their numbers...

Thanks for the information, Holly. So does this mean the ones that are saying fiber can cut your carb count aren't correct. Net carbs is wishful thinking. And also, I have high cholesterol and I have refused to take statins. But will my doctor have a fit about the high amount of fat. I told him I was eating Keto but I find so many doctors don't know beans about nutrition. I'm thinking he is assuming I'm cutting out sugars and carbs. What has the cholesterol story been for some of the rest of you. Has it been good news? I had an appointment last week with a specialist (high anxiety type of appointment). This lady has white coat syndrome and my already high blood pressure generally skyrockets. I about fell of the stool when the nurse reported my reading 104/70! Never has it been that good. I do know to concentrate on the good fats and which ones not to touch. My daughter is also doing Keto and we are learning together. I did find out yesterday that she is eating in the 2000 calorie range. It seems unbelievable to me based on all the years I have dieted. Especially the ones that are doctor prescribed. No wonder hardly anyone succeeds with those. This is the first diet that I truly don't get hungry with. The only reason I have tried to track my foods this week is to figure the right ratio of my macro intake. You guys have helped a lot with that already. It's funny that you stated my protein is too high because I'm finding it hard to eat my protein portion some days. I don't think I'll have a problem cutting it back. Have a good night everyone. Looking forward to getting better acquainted.

2 slices bacon

lunch:1 freshly made keto bagel with sliced cheese and lots of butter

supper: roast beef and butter.

Hi Bee and welcome!! i see a couple things right off that are most likely stalling you. first off your calories are WAY too low..they should be a minimum of 1800...if you would like a current calculator to figure just ask and i'll message you with it. your protein is a bit high..for women it should be between 50-60 grams a day. carbs are a bit high..max of 20 total grams a day is what the experts we trust say. not net. fiber matters not....
and finally..you need probably double the fat you are having..at LEAST 120 grams but probably more.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people that think you need to eat at a deficit when that can really slow down or stall you...and the old, incorrect "fat is a lever" i still see sometimes. its a goal..you want the high fat.
you have done so well losing over 30 pounds!! you should be so proud of yourself for doing that!! I think with a little teaking you can get things moving again..you already know you can do it!!

I am back to SP after a long absence. Came back to specifically look for a Keto team. Trying this for about 4 mo. or so without really knowing if I'm doing it right. I have lost over 30 lbs but scales are now standing still. I have been reading this thread today and have really enjoyed seeing what several of you are eating. I'm curious what a good calorie range is for Keto eating and what that translates to in portions. I tracked my eating the other day and ended up with under 1200 calories 71 fat/ 87 protein/ 38 carbs with 14 fiber. I'm interested in what I might be doing right or wrong.
