I have journals which I make. One is for health keep up with blood pressure and sugar readings and what I eat and how much I drink and I keep mood and habit trackers in it. The other one is for devotions and bible studies. I am nearly finished with both...now I have to figure where to keep them since they are racking up quickly. I cant be a hoarder.... emoticon

I'm also a journal junkie as well. I currently have 6, and those are just the ones I can see. There are others which are packed away, or are on the shelf in my closet. Some are written in some are not because I don't want to make a mistake and mess the journal up. I have a leopard designed journal, purse and reading glasses, I have no way of figuring out how that happened. But I am put together in what matches... lol The journal is one I don't want to write something in that will be messed up. So I began writing positive sayings, quotes and motivational sayings that will never be outdated.

May take a picture and share it with y'all

There was an article in my local newspaper (who is busy reprinting articles written elsewhere on the Internet, to print in the local dead tree edition. Go figure!) on Bullet Journals. I remember seeing a video or two about it, probably here on the Journaling team. But the article made it seem clearer and much more "do-able". So I think I'm gonna go watch some more videos and make notes on what types of paper to get, etc.

HoboniWhaaaa-chi now?? And for that, I am off to go earn a point or two on the SparkSearch to look these up!!

I love looking at journals and buying them too! And I totally know what you mean about not writing in them because you want it to be just so!! I've seen some with the nice leather wrap around covers but they are built so you can buy new notepads to fit inside them, as you use up the paper. Others are bound, like a book, and then you are stuck having to buy a whole new one, leather cover and all. That gets pricey!!

I have a planner I made from a blank Journal that I purchased from Wal-Mart! About $5 in price once a year~

Its called a Jumbo Journal with 336 Lined College Ruled Pages and for the months that have no NFL football I have the weekends on one page! I needed room for lists, planning my schedule, bible verses, devotionals, lessons, nature observations, thrifty ideas, meetings, TV or books, music, tracking foods, water, exercise, emotional needs, volunteer opportunities....

(Sorry so late in responding!)

I have a Hobonichi, too! I love the paper. I tried to do a fauxbonichi last year but, while it worked, I fizzled out on having to create all the page headers. So a few months ago I got a 2016 actual Hobonichi and stuff to go with it. So now I have the Erin Condren Life Planner and the Hobonichi. I have been using the ECLP a lot, because I got it with remaining months of 2015 while the Hobonichi is just 2016. Anyhow, I love it. I have spent way too much on stickers and washi tape LOL! But I've found that not only do I stay a bit more organized time wise... sort of... :) but I really enjoy the decorating of the planner and I also do mini journaling in it.

I have ended up buying planners for my daughters and someday daughter in law. I got my oldest daughter a Hobonichi because of her love of mine, and my other two ladies I got the ECLP.

I might have mentioned this, but last year my husband bought me two beautiful handmade journals. One is leather with a wrap closure and the other is tapestry with handmade paper. I'm scared to write in them! I WANT to use them, but it's got to be something Just Right!

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who does this. I have to exert extreme restraint to avoid buying new journals all the time. I don't know how many I have, they are scattered in drawers, cabinets and shelves. :)

they do some awesome things with a sheet of paper!

and me, too! I collect blank journals and notebooks -- and I don't like to write in them either because they're too perfect. I've been forcing myself this year to start using them to take notes when I read books -- I leave a page at the front to create an index so I can find the notes again later. It's actually gotten to be a habit to reach for a notebook -- but I have so many notebooks on the go now that it's hard to manage, need to finish a few and stick them on a shelf.

I keep buying them hoping to find the best combination of smooth paper and a good binding -- I probably have two boxes full of blank journals. I'm not alone - I watched a youtube video where a girl showed over 100 blank journals. The addiction is widespread!

Oh, now I feel outclassed - I have no idea what "hobonichi" is. (will look it up!). But I sure do like drooling over the photos of ink pens at jetpens dot com !! And I do like looking at papers. Trouble is, I get papers or a pretty book and then I don't want to write in them when I get home, because I might make a MISTAKE! oh, the horror.... so I need to get over that. I also like funny composition books with the covers that are NOT the old school black mottled look. One I have now is kind of a non-metallic "golden" maybe honey color with sort of wood-cut etched looking imagery of honeycomb and bees, sort of a take off on the "busy bee" concept (as in, quit slacking, Julia!!).

Total planner addict here!! I've used a planner since I started working in 1988 but a few months ago I found a Facebook group for planner junkies and THEN did I ever get an education! I had no idea there were so many types/kinds! I want them all, lol! I already had a handful of Franklin Covey binders that I still use so I really didn't *need* any new planners but I talked myself into getting a filofax for every day and I ordered a 2016 hobonichi for journaling that I can't wait to use -- the paper is so smooth!

The creativity of the planner junkies and all those who decorate their pages every week - wow! I haven't gotten that far into it, I find too much decorating distracts me, but I love to look at what everyone creates.

I wished I had been a journaler starting young like that! Surely you kept them all, yes? How awesome to go back through now and then.

when my children were born I started a journal for each of them. I did really good writing in them for a while, but it eventually fizzled out to writing in them maybe once ever several months. Of course my first child's was filled up by the time he was 16, but the rest still have a LOT of pages left. Oh well, I can just keep writing.

I recently saw an idea about writing a letter to your child regularly, be it yearly, every 6 months or whatever, and to put some money with the letter and seal it. by the time they graduate high school, they will have an awesome stack of personal letters and a decent amount of money as well. I wished I had thought of that 24 years ago!!!

I've loved journaling since I was eight years old so that's 42 years. emoticon
I took me awhile to quit using old spiral-bound notebooks and switch to sketchbooks. I just buy plain black ones now. It gets easier as the years go by not to worry about messing them up. The only way to mess up would be to quit writing forever. (Long breaks are OK, however!)

I burned out on planners when I had two jobs for a while. Now I do a loose sort of bullet journaling which agrees with my creative temperament.

Hey all! I'm so excited to get back into journaling AND planning. I love both types of books of all kinds. I'm a planner and journal junkie, but so often I will buy one I love, then they just sit around either not being written in at all (fear of messing it up) or only a couple things written and then nothing.

Well, I'm trying to change that. I ordered a Sept-Dec Tools4Wisdom journal to get my journaling/planning going the remainder of this year. It was not expensive so I'm not so worried about messing it up and I've planned/journaled for each day this month already! Ok, so perhaps that's only 4 days, but I feel I'm on a roll!

I also ordered myself a personalized Erin Condren planner and Deluxe Notebook and a few accessories. I am so excited about these items! I can hardly wait for them to come in... and while I'll be waiting for January to start using it, it's a good thing, I would have been afraid of messing it up if I didn't get some planning/journaling mojo going in the cheaper one. Savvy? :)

So, who else is a planner/journal junkie?
