I haven't hit on the magic formula yet but I stay away from caffeine and chocolate. My friend just told me not to eat anything after 6:00pm. I'll give it a try.

i slept for about 5/12-6 hours last night. not bad, but i just signed up for the 7 hour challenge. i don't know if i can sleep that long, because my inner alarm clock wakes me up at 6am regardless. i'm up for the challenge though

i find that warm milk with i pk of splenda, a dash of cinnoman and a capfull of vanilla helps, but tonight for some dumb reason, IT'S NOT HELPING!!!!!!!!!!!!. also, if i listen to soothing music helps alot. i'll let you know how it worked tomorrow. but, i also ate before i took my medicine, which was just about 5 min. ago. ug, let's see what happens. i don't feel tuckered out yet, just let time tell i guess. i fell asleep fine last night and slept for get this 9 hours. that's the longest i've slept through the night in ages. i can sleep fine during the day, but at night when i don't during the day, FORGET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! emoticon

I find I can not eat late in the evening because it affects my sleep. Any heavy foods in the evening hurts my sleep also.

Good morning all! I find that anything containing red dye (#3 and 6) are an issue for me - they make me so hyper. I can't drink anything cafinated after lunch or I'm up all night. And I stay away from the computer after dinner - I heard that can cause you to lose sleep.

I gave up coffee 2 months ago, and still haven't figured out what keeps me up at night, except that if I'm hungry I surely won't fall asleep. So I usually finish the day with a slice of toast, little jelly, or yogurt, or 1/2 PB sandwich. I do have better results if I have my lemon chamomile decaf tea about an hour before bed. Nothing worse than being tired and needing to do my workout in the morn !

Foods that help me are: Camomile tea with squirt of lemon or tsp honey emoticon

Food I must stay away from are: Any thing with caffeine ex; coffee, chocolate any thing emoticon

I have not found a food that helps every night. Sometimes milk and a cookie helps and others it doesn't. Wish I knew something! I have quit eating late. In fact, we moved up to early dinner at 5:00 to help with the weight loss journey. Sometimes when I lay for hours I will get up and try the milk and cookie, sometimes works and sometimes don't.

I've never slept great on a regular basis but since I've been doing the Atkins diet (over 3 months now) my quality of sleep is terrible. I wake up 6+ times every night and can't seem to go back to sleep. Anyone else have this problem or have any helpful solutions?

I used to think that I could drink a can of coke before heading to bed and it didn't affect me. I'm finding that is quite wrong for me. Even on the nights that I still fall asleep fairly fast, I'm noticing that the quality of sleep is not great; I wind up waking up more times in the middle of the night when I drink a coke than when I don't.

I take Nite Lite every night. It works well. I get to sleep faster, have a deeper sleep, and wake up refreshed, no grogginess at all. I love it so much, I now sell it and am not ashamed to say so here because I have definitely found relief with it. I will personally take this supplement from now on. Sugar before bed is not wise. I had some blueberry cheesecake at 9:30 pm. and was still up at midnight cleaning out a bedroom (got it done though !) Could not believe the time. Finally went to sleep at 2 a.m. and up at 6:30 a.m. Somewhere in the day I'm sure I'll crash. emoticon

That shocks me too HREADE because I also have the habit of under eating during the day then it comes time to go to sleep and I am starving and I tank up on chocolate and soft drinks. Till I am so full I fall asleep. And this is not good for me. I am going to try eating my calories during the day like you are talking about. Thanks

Chocolate late at night; too much coffee in the day; and the one that shocked me most....not eating enough (good nutritious food) during the day!
When I stay within the calorie range on my Food Tracker, my sleep is a bit better quality. Not enough calories in the day=toss and turn at night.

Eating after 6 or 7 pm bothers my sleep. Usually fall asleep right away, then wake up 3 to 4 times during the night and a bad one I stay awake once I wake up.

I know for years now I have been packing
on the weight due to over eating at bedtime till I fall asleep. Sometimes
when I wake up there are food wrappers laying around from food that
I was not aware that I had eaten.
