I'm with you there, CAPECODLIGHT! I check when it occurs to me that things are "off" for some reason. I HAVE had defective strips before... but it has been maybe twice in 27 years.

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But I don't think you have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too!

I test when I open a new vial. I also have done it when getting wacko readings, just to make sure the "wacko" is me and not the test strips! Keep an eye on the expiration date on the test solution. I think mine is just good for 6 mos.

"This too shall pass."

When I opened my meter for the first time. I don't test the strips.

Does everyone use the solution to test the accuracy of your strips?
And is there a red flag to knowing if your strips are not accurate?
