I hope you are all doing well. It is still warm and muggy here. And I am still really busy with work. Yesterday I met up with my Escondido lady friends for brunch in between doing stuff for work. Today I am just going to do maybe about an hour worth of paper work type stuff for work, and do my laundry for work and rest.

thanks! I am really trying. I even went online to find stuff to help out while I was waiting for the insurance to okay me going to therapy.

Yes, PT is a great way to challenge muscles to get stronger, and it can be hard to recover from!

Thanks! I feel like it is getting better little by little. But still have some issues with it. And Friday evening seem to be worse. Maybe because my legs get a good work out during PT in the morning, and then I always seem to have a long work day after that trying to wrap up stuff for the weekend. I had my best sleep in months on Wednesday and Thursdays. But Friday was another night of not being able to get comfortable and get to sleep and stay asleep. I finally broke down and took a muscle relaxant pill (Aleve) and did a little better with that.

All my best to you all always, Janette

I have seen all the specialist now.

I have been in PT sessions for a few weeks now, supposedly my scoliosis is causing issues with my spine again, and that is causing issues with my nerves and muscles. My right side of my back and right side oblique muscles are all stiff, and my upper right thigh and groin area is the same. So lots off new stretching exercises and exercises with weights, and balance ball. Trying to strengthen my core and such.

My right hand and arm was all better by the time I got to see the OT specialist, so I don't have to do any more with her. She just gave me a hand out document with exercises to do at home to keep it that way.

The heart specialist had my have an ultra sound of my heart today, and next week they will do one on my neck to check out the veins in it. And then I will go back to him before the end of June to get the results of the test and find out if he is going to have me do anything else.

Because of my doctor appointment today, I will go into the office later today instead of in the early morning.

I hope all is going well with the team, take care, Janette

Sorry I haven't had a lot of time to be on here still. Work was supposed to be slowing down, but it doesn't seem like it, at least not yet. I am getting lots of walking in with work still and other stuff too. And now with PT, I am doing at least and hour a day or more of PT stretching every day and more on days I go into PT.

My O.T. & my cardiovascular appts that I was supposed to go to at the beginning of the month all rescheduled on me at the last minute, so I haven't had them yet.

I did get to go to two appts for PT last week and will be going again this Thursday and Friday. I couldn't get away to spread this week’s appts out better. My right torso side is doing much better with the PT. Still some issues with it, but so much better than before. My right upper thigh and groin area though hasn't seen much improvement yet. But it was already doing a little better with what I was doing for it at home before I even got to have my first appt with them. I am hoping it will continue to do better as time goes. But for now it really doesn't like it when I have to drive a lot or walk a lot. So last week I had to do a lot of driving and walking for work on both Thursday and Friday, so that didn't help it. But she did give me some good advice that might help me in the long run. She was telling me to pay more attention to how I am sitting in the truck, at home and at work. That it is not good to have your knees up higher than your bottom. And unfortunately I noticed after she said it that the seat in my truck has the bottom part higher where your knees would be and where your bottom would be is lower. They angled the bottom part of the seat so you are tipped back a little. And the back of the seat is tipped back some too, and there is no adjustment to either of them. So I tried putting a couple of towels in there folded up to sit on, and it helped a little but didn't raise me up enough. I had a big thick coat shoved behind the seat, I took it out and sat on it folded up and it helped more. So I need to look around for a wedged pillow to sit on to even the seat out. After that I noticed that a lot of the chairs I usually sit in at work and home are raised up more at the knees too, so that you are reclining/or tipped back some. So I will be looking for wedge pillows to deal with that issue and that might really help me out. Also the chair I sit in at home and at work to do computer work have arm rest that make it so I can pull up as close as I would like, or should be to do my computer work. So I end up stretching my arms out, or sitting on the edge of the seat a lot. Which is not helping me at all. I really hate my chair I have at home. My old rolling chair didn't have any arm rest on it so it was better. But the cushion part of the seat just wasn't as cushy as it got old. This one I have now, was a used chair that was just given to me. It is so old now that it is just not cushy either. I piled some bed pillows in it long ago trying to make it more comfortable, but it really didn't work. I am just going to go buy myself a new chair, and will make sure that the bottom part is really cushy, but not higher at the knee area then the bottom area. And hopefully that will help. I spend so much time at home working on the computer, so I want to get a chair that will be more comfortable and better for me. Not sure what I will do about the chair at work yet? Maybe I will look for another cheaper priced one for work too?

Tomorrow I am going to have that first visit with the cardiovascular doctor. I have no idea what they are going to do or want of me.

And then the next week I will finally go to the O.T. doctor, but they have already told me that their referral is only for my right hand and arm, which is almost like normal again, so not sure what is going to happen with that one. It might be just a fast visit and no need for further visits, unless my primary doctor and the insurance decide to let them deal with my thigh and groin area too.

I was supposed to go back to my primary doctor today, but she rescheduled too. They called me last week and said she was going to be away until June. So now I will see her after the start of June to go over all this stuff.

All my best to you all always, Janette

Great Linda! I hope all is still going well with you.

I have been getting lots of walking in with work, errands and dogs and such.

Happy 4th of July to you all.

I went to work this morning. I have tomorrow off. Then it's back to work Wednesday morning. I should be off Thursday. Then I will be working Friday mornings now on for a payroll company that switched it's run/pay date to every Friday instead of Mondays. So I will be back in the office for at least a little bit on Fridays. Then I should have my Weekends off.

We will just be staying home the 4th, our youngest dog doesn't like all the noise, so we will be keeping a watch on her.

Take care, Janette

It's going on 4 weeks & I'm still on track even with a few bumps in the road. I got invited out a few times & made the best choices I could under the conditions. I have lost a total of 18 lbs. so far. I know the weight loss will slow down to a emoticon pace soon so I'm trying to lose as much as possible now! My one mini goal is to get back to 210ville(219 lbs. ) before June. I hope my body will cooperate! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Back on track as of 4/16. I'm so happy. emoticon I'm down to 226 lbs. I have a way to go. I'm doing well minus a few minor slip ups. Summer is right around the corner & my biggest regret is that I didn't get back on track in Feb. or the beginning of March. At least I would have standed a chance to get into 200ville (209 lbs.) I feel a little down at this weight. The way I feel & the way my clothes fit gets me a little depressed. Once I lose another 10 lbs. I should start feeling much better & my self esteem should go up. I'm going to keep pushing till I get back in 210ville(219 lbs.)

Well, evidently I missed out last Spring that April 29th is/was International Dance Day, but in today's IrishCentral news, one was a video showing some Irish Dancing done last sprint. I thought I would share, since I just went to Ireland again this past Sept/October. Enjoy.

Getting ready for travel to Colorado from Tuesday through Sunday. So blessed to study intensively with one of my heroes, Clarissa Pinkola Estes!

Don't know if I will have access to Spark. So grateful that my wife is kind enough to log in for me so I don't lose my four year long Spark streaks.

I hope you will all keep dancing and posting wildly. I'll miss your wonderful energy!

The day I have been waiting for has finally arrived. I still can't believe it. I DID IT! ONEDERLAND!!! emoticon The scale read 199.5 this morning. It took 5 yrs. to achieve this day! I am finally now ready to close this chapter on my journey. I am so ready to begin a new one! This is goodbye to Twoterville forever. I am shutting the door behind me as a say goodbye. My next two biggest goals are 185 lbs. That will put me out of the obese range. I will ONLY be overweight! Can you imagine that! I will be so happy just to be overweight! The next goal is 176 lbs. which will mean a weight loss of 100 lbs.

Our main food bank here IS run by a church. I'm afraid that if I contact other churches, they may try to have me attend services... I don't want that! emoticon

Food banks often receive donations from people who don't check the dates or bring in what they don't want. A canned product can be given out in our state if the expiration date is within 6 months. Dented goods are a different story but Walmart sells dented products all the time stuck in between good cans.
Churches are good because they receive products from more reliable sources.

Thanks for the info on food banks, but that certainly isn't true here - at least half of what I've been given is expired or badly dented tins. emoticon

if someone has a PEP picture and I commented on it. Then I get a notification that someone else commented on it, or a notification that someone joined in the conversation.......HOW DO I FIND IT...... There is nothing in setting, you don't # someone like Instagram.

FYI, places can't give out expired stuff. It might still be good, but they are legally not allowed to give it away. BUT if you ask.....what they have, they can give it to you also. :D

It's the Salvation Army that runs the main food bank here. I could try some other churches.
Thanks! emoticon

our church has a food bank. it is always open.
Visit a church in your area and see what they have, or give some churches a call.

I am so sorry. Each town here is different. I taught classes at the food bank about 5 years ago so I know them very well and they are very good. They also have a garden each year and have wonderful veggies through the summer.
This is my second day of exercise! emoticon I took a walk around the block and then did 10 min. on the emoticon

Wow, I wish there were some sort of help with the cost of the meals here! They were $7/day when I had them for a couple of weeks about 5 years ago - I'm sure they would be more now. I'm glad you have the Ensure too; I couldn't afford that either. Here we are only allowed to visit the food bank once a month. There are no fresh foods, so I would still need to buy those.

Good for you with the chair dancing! I am trying to make exercise a daily habit, but haven't been very successful yet. Keep up the good work! emoticon

Leslie, the Agency on Aging here pays for them. They also bought me 2 months worth of Ensure that has been recommended because I eat too little with my GP. I am very blessed. For my other groceries I visit the food bank each week.
emoticon I did 10 minutes of chair dancing today as well as a few other fitness things. I didn't do more than a few minutes at each thing but I am so sore tonight!

A few of you have asked what I was doing to lose the weight. So here is it. I'm paying it forward!!!
I started with Insanity and Shakeology.......NOT the place to start. :/ But in my defense, I didn't know any better. :D
I lost 30lbs, gain back 5 or so... then took them off for good!!
How.....learning to eat correctly. 21 Day Fix did that for me. 21 Day Fix teaches you what to eat, when to eat it and how much you should be eating for your body. Stick to the plan and you will lose weight and KEEP it off.
YES it is that simple. YES it IS that easy!! In July there is a recipe book FIXATE coming out, to go along with the color coated boxes. i can't wait!!!
If you are interested in 21 Day Fix, I sell them. here is my website. FYI TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO GET THE SALE PRICE.

You're very fortunate to get those meals, Nola - I wish I could afford them!
It sounds as if you've had a busy day. Rest up!

I went to the exercise class, rode the stationary bike and had a short walk. I will debate on whether chair dancing will be to much for me to add to my day. I arrived home to a Breakfast for Lunch meal from Meals on Wheels.

I'm catching back up to where I was when I left. I gained back
4 lbs while I was gone and in the 5 days I've been back lost 3
I do so much better when I have my own kitchen to cook and
my TM to work out. I really need to work on my get-aways
and not letting them get me off course!

I was on my way to becoming the lady on the left! I used the pain I had from a torn meniscus, arthritis in my knees, neuropathy in my feet from standing on a concrete-base floor for 8 hours a day and all the pain from fibromyalgia as an excuse to not move more than was absolutely necessary. After I lost my job there were days when I didn't accumulate 200 steps!

Not any more! My daily step range is now 5500+ and I learned that exercise not only helps the weight come off, it really DOES make me feel better and hurt less. It took a lot to convince me of that. The only day I don't do "intentional" exercise is on Sunday. Doesn't mean I don't move, just means I don't devote 30 minutes or more to a traditional exercise. I am becoming the better lady on the right! emoticon
