Good morning ladies & gentlemen [are there any gentlemen in our group]?

I'm glad the freezer idea works for you guys.. we eat out less when I precook meals and freeze them.. it really helps me to lose weight and thankfully, my husband doesn't mind left overs.. or reheated meals. emoticon emoticon


Well, I have decided to try switching over from coffee with sugar free syrups to drinking tea... I'm not much of a tea drinker but I've been consuming a lot of artificial sweetener as I am addicted to the DaVinci coffee syrups. I've been worried about the amount of Splenda I use every day.. both in coffee syrups, candies, and when I need sugar for anything.. I already gave up diet pop but need to work on all forms of sugar/ and carbs!

I'm just learning to click on the link to this Team on my Sparkpage, wish I had seen it sooner..

MOMPOIRIER, love that you start the day with prayer and [great already forgot if you said meditation or Bible]; however, it was neat reading through your posts. I will check out your web page too..

THEEXERCISER, did you finish off your Snicker Bars or share them? I would have placed them in the freezer [sliced into bite size] for future mini treats. I eat sugar free mints from Russell Stovers [I have diabetes]; but, when frozen they seem to last longer and satisfy my need for chocolate.. I bet you could do the same with Snicker Bars.

I am also going to start meditating regularly and working on my assertiveness in a positive way. I have always had a problem with being a assertive in a positive way.

My goals are pretty similar to yours, they include tracking nutrition and exercise, drink enough water for the day, sweets in moderation and do my best to stay accountable. Thank you for telling me about the articles and best of luck with your ankle surgery!

I am working on my goals for the New Year right now. There are 2 great articles on the Spark start page today - "Nine resolutions that make you happier not skinnier" & "31 days to unbreakable resolutions". My plans will include to continue eating in a healthy way - moderation in all things, continue to track all food and exercise daily (it keep me accountable), continue to exercise daily (within my limits of bad back and will be having ankle surgery soon).I belong to a Spark team - " SparkPeople's Largest Virtual weigh in" where we do weekly and monthly challenges. I have found it to be very encouraging.

Sharing is a great idea. Better to feel a little bad about giving away the gift then to feel down on yourself about overeating.each tomorrow starts a new day when we can make new choices. Tomorrow starts a new year - have you set New Year goals?

I have been doing a lot of binge eating on sweets since Christmas. My mom gave me some Snicker bars among other gifts for Christmas. The binge eating as been making me feel really bad about myself and my actions of eating like this. I am thinking of sharing my candy with others in my household. I feel bad about giving away my Christmas gifts but I feel that sharing them is the only way to help me get back on track.

It's the 4th day of Christmas. Had treats this week but kept within my calorie range and tracked them all but one day. Had a 0.4 lb loss and have not binged so I am very happy with that.

THEEXERCISER - good for you. I can relate, I have a lot of back pain even after 3 surgeries. The sciatica is the worst at night. I use to comfort myself with sweets. Thankfully I am forming better habits now.

I was having very bad shoulder pain last night and didn't get to bed until 1:30 this morning. Well needless to say I was very frustrated about it. Usually when I frustrated or can't sleep or both I reach for junk food. I am proud to say that I did not reach for that type of snack or any type of snack I watched t.v. instead😁

While snacking on a single serving of peanut M&M's (which is a lot smaller than the serving I usually eat). I realized that I need to slow down and savor the taste of my food because smaller servings go a lot quicker that way haha

Started my Christmas baking and made rum balls yesterday. Weighed one and found it was 50 cal. Enjoyed one and tracked it. Felt freeing to eat and enjoy it in control.

Sometimes having a moderate portion is better than not having any at all because we began to feel deprived and then over do it. Have a few and dump the rest.

Have been doing really well. Had a small cannoli at my Mom-in-law's funeral luncheon today. No guilt as I have not had any treats in awhile.

I ate a piece of small chocolate cake yesterday I sort of felt guilty. But I reminded myself that it was a much smaller portion than I would usually of eaten so I moved pasted the guilty feeling.

Did okay with the sweets yesterday. Had 4 small (1-1/2") cookies and a thin slice of cake. No pie or candy that was offered. I tracked what I ate so I'm happy with how I did for Thanksgiving.

did ok today. only 1 pop today. i did have deserts and a sweet snack in the afternnon.but i was not eating all day long so that was good. also went outside to for awhile. the light exercise helped

did ok on an out of town trip. had 1 pop in the car. and at supper i did sprite -no caffine- and had 1 pieced of pizza and ate it slow. at the game i spit a pretzel with some people. i did have a large pop - they only sold 1 size and i ate it on the way home. did not get in a lot of frui or veggies. but no mindlessly snacking either.

i have so been craving junk. i had fast food on monday. it was not great, and i like what i make better. i have healthy options in my desk - fruit cups, nut bars but i wanted greasy, fatty or sugary items. i have no0t been beating all the temptations but i am not caving on some. been stable with my soda limiting goal
