Please take the necessary time to read Genesis chapter 27(below) because have written about the whole chapter not just a few verses.

Genesis 27

emoticon A Closer Look

Do you have children? In your heart while no one was looking have you ever favored one child over another child? Do I dare to ask, have you ever loved one of your children more than another child? Let me ask you this, have you been the favored child yourself, or have you suffered from the result of being less cared for and loved? Genesis 27 deals with the reality of the pain which is endured by a family who not only chose to favor a child, but much more than that they made the choice to LOVE one child instead of the other. We learned as we read this chapter of the consequences, the pain, and the results it produces if a parent makes the choice to love one child more than the other child.

We learned in Genesis 25 that Isaac became a father to twins, and that Isaac favored and loved Esau, and Rachel his wife favored and loved the other twin Jacob. in Genesis 25:27-28 it states, The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents. Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

We see in Genesis 27 that Isaac was deceived by his son Jacob.

NOTE:

Back in December 6th I beame too sick to continue writing. Little did I know 2 months would pass before I would be well again! I have continued this bible study where I left off. Now you can see that a few of our team members have written and left me comments, but if you look ahead 16 posts then you will be right where we left off. Look for this emotion to help you see where I have begun again emoticon

Genesis 27

emoticon Genesis 27

When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could no longer see, he called for Esau his older son and said to him, “My son.” Here I am,” he answered. Isaac said, “I am now an old man and don’t know the day of my death. Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me. 4 Prepare me the kind of tasty food I like and bring it to me to eat, so that I may give you my blessing before I die.

Now Rebekah was listening as Isaac spoke to his son Esau. When Esau left for the open country to hunt game and bring it back, Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “Look, I overheard your father say to your brother Esau, ‘Bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that I may give you my blessing in the presence of the Lord before I die.’ Now, my son, listen carefully and do what I tell you: 9 Go out to the flock and bring me two choice young goats, so I can prepare some tasty food for your father, just the way he likes it. Then take it to your father to eat, so that he may give you his blessing before he dies.”

Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, “But my brother Esau is a hairy man while I have smooth skin. What if my father touches me? I would appear to be tricking him and would bring down a curse on myself rather than a blessing.” His mother said to him, “My son, let the curse fall on me. Just do what I say; go and get them for me.”

So he went and got them and brought them to his mother, and she prepared some tasty food, just the way his father liked it. Then Rebekah took the best clothes of Esau her older son, which she had in the house, and put them on her younger son Jacob. She also covered his hands and the smooth part of his neck with the goatskins. Then she handed to her son Jacob the tasty food and the bread she had made. He went to his father and said, “My father.” Yes, my son,” he answered. “Who is it?” Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game, so that you may give me your blessing.” Isaac asked his son, “How did you find it so quickly, my son?” The Lord your God gave me success,” he replied. Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Come near so I can touch you, my son, to know whether you really are my son Esau or not.” Jacob went close to his father Isaac, who touched him and said, “The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” 23 He did not recognize him, for his hands were hairy like those of his brother Esau; so he proceeded to bless him. “Are you really my son Esau?” he asked. I am,” he replied. Then he said, “My son, bring me some of your game to eat, so that I may give you my blessing.” Jacob brought it to him and he ate; and he brought some wine and he drank.

Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come here, my son, and kiss me.” So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said, “Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed. May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness— an abundance of grain and new wine. May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.”

After Isaac finished blessing him, and Jacob had scarcely left his father’s presence, his brother Esau came in from hunting. He too prepared some tasty food and brought it to his father. Then he said to him, “My father, please sit up and eat some of my game, so that you may give me your blessing.” His father Isaac asked him, “Who are you?” I am your son,” he answered, “your firstborn, Esau.” Isaac trembled violently and said, “Who was it, then, that hunted game and brought it to me? I ate it just before you came and I blessed him—and indeed he will be blessed!”

When Esau heard his father’s words, he burst out with a loud and bitter cry and said to his father, “Bless me—me too, my father!” But he said, “Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.” Esau said, “Isn’t he rightly named Jacob[a]? This is the second time he has taken advantage of me: He took my birthright, and now he’s taken my blessing!” Then he asked, “Haven’t you reserved any blessing for me?” Isaac answered Esau, “I have made him lord over you and have made all his relatives his servants, and I have sustained him with grain and new wine. So what can I possibly do for you, my son?” Esau said to his father, “Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father!” Then Esau wept aloud. His father Isaac answered him, “Your dwelling will be away from the earth’s richness, away from the dew of heaven above. You will live by the ayd you will serve your brother. But when you grow restless, you will throw his yoke from off your neck.” Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. He said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.” When Rebekah was told what her older son Esau had said, she sent for her younger son Jacob and said to him, “Your brother Esau is planning to avenge himself by killing you. Now then, my son, do what I say: Flee at once to my brother Laban in Harran. Stay with him for a while until your brother’s fury subsides. When your brother is no longer angry with you and forgets what you did to him, I’ll send word for you to come back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?” Then Rebekah said to Isaac, “I’m disgusted with living because of these Hittite women. If Jacob takes a wife from among the women of this land, from Hittite women like these, my life will not be worth living.”

Dearest Shelly,
I just listened to Chapter 26 of Genesis, and I followed it with my Jesus Study Bible that I bought several years ago. It is called a New International Version.
I enjoyed this very much Shelly. Thank you for this beautiful opportunity to draw nearer to our Lord in studying His Holy Word. I plan to make this a new way of soaking in God's Holy Word.

Nothing Is Impossible with God.
Each Day Is A New Beginning.
When You Draw Close To God, God Will Draw Close To You.

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

There's nothing wrong with using the word "diet". It comes from the Greek word "diaita", meaning way of life. So to lose weight and keep it off we need to change our way of life.

Thank you Vicky. emoticon

Read, Living It Out and then listen to Genesis 26 (above) which relates to what I have written

emoticon Living It Out

In Genesis 25 Isaac dug three wells. After digging these wells the first thing he did was build an altar to worship God. When you move to a new place and need to unpack, get your house organized, and make fit to live in where do you fit God into those days?

I will be honest, I have moved twice in the last 16 years and both times I did not make time for God during the days that followed accept for when I went to church that week. God needs to be #1 regardless to what is going on in our lives.

Have you ever wondered why God blessed certain people in the bible abundantly? Well, I will tell you that you can read for yourselves that all the people God blessed in a huge way kept God first in their lives no matter how busy they were & no matter what was happening around them.

As we keep God first & as we show God that He is the most important thing in each day God will help us in ways we can't even imagine. I know this as a result of my own life. So I urge you, keep God first in your life by serving him, worshiping Him, praying, and glorifying Him through your trails and tribulations no matter what!

emoticon Genesis 24:55-66

When they got up the next morning, he said, “Send me on my way to my master.” But her brother and her mother replied, “Let the young woman remain with us ten days or so; then you may go.” But he said to them, “Do not detain me, now that the Lord has granted success to my journey. Send me on my way so I may go to my master.” Then they said, “Let’s call the young woman and ask her about it.” 58 So they called Rebekah and asked her, “Will you go with this man?” “I will go,” she said. So they sent their sister Rebekah on her way, along with her nurse and Abraham’s servant and his men. And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, “Our sister, may you increase to thousands upon thousands; may your offspring possess the cities of their enemies.” Then Rebekah and her attendants got ready and mounted the camels and went back with the man. So the servant took Rebekah and left. Now Isaac had come from Beer Lahai Roi, for he was living in the Negev. He went out to the field one evening to and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching. Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down from her camel 65 and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?” He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself. Then the servant told Isaac all he had done. Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

emoticon A Closer Look

In Genesis 24 55-66 we see that Rebekah's mother & brother tried to postpone Rebekah from leaving saying,"Let the young woman remain with us ten days or so; then you may go.” God's timing is ALWAYS perfect, yet sometimes we don't realize it, or don't want to act when it is necessary to. We drag our feet, we want to have more say in the matter. Often when we delay God's grace is no longer with us when we finally try to accomplish what He has put in our hearts to do because we waited too long. I have always been prompt at doing the things God has told me to do for Him. Since I was a little girl God has put it in my heart to help people, and I would just do as He requested, not understanding why He asked me to do many things. In such a way we are to be like a child not questioning His word, but trusting in Him and knowing He would not steer us into danger or misfortune.

We find out st the end of Genesis chapter 24 that Abraham's son Isaac was comforted by Rebekah. It was God's plan to bring peace, love, and comfort to Isaac. Make no mistake similar things STILL happen today. God has a plan, but at times we mess it up for others or ourselves. The devil waits and looks for ways to keep God's plan from being carried out. Don't be too quick to delay God's plan. Pray about decisions, ask God to help you by leading & directing you. Your blessings may be just around the corner without any knowledge of such. Ask God questions, Follow God 's lead, and let nothing stop you!

Genesis 24:5-9

emoticon The servant asked him, “What if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?” “Make sure that you do not take my son back there,” Abraham said. “The Lord, the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father’s household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying, ‘To your offspring I will give this land’—he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there. 8 If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there.” 9 So the servant put his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and swore an oath to him concerning this matter.

emoticon A Closer Look

I find it interesting that Abraham's servant said, What if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?” His servant must not have believed this plan would work, or at least the man had some doubt. many times I have told people what god has told me and they too have had doubt. Don't expect others to be so loyal to god as you are just because you know in your heart that God indeed told you this that and the other, and you are to do whatever. There are more people who doubt, delay, and sway in their decisions than those who hold steady before God and do as He tells them to.

However, I will add so many times so many times God works through those who are faithful to Him and show all those around that God did speak to His loyal children, and God proves to everyone by making just what his loyal child said would happen TO happen. In Genesis chapter 24 Abraham's servant said," “Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey to the house of my master’s relatives.” My sister lost her baby after carrying it for 1.5 months. One day after she had miscarried I called to comfort her. I told her that God told me that she said have a child again and she must believe it. Within a year my sister did have a child. Through the years god has told me things and I share them with people like this team, my friends and family. We can believe or we can chose to doubt, but the reward is in believing!

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you...” Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.
When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

emoticon Living It Out

I have been surrendering to God for a few years. I want to share a poem I wrote thst reflects surrendering to God.

THE PROCESS OF SURRENDERING

In the beginning it was hard
It was hard to let go

In the beginning I wanted
I wanted my way more than God's way

In the beginning I resisted
I resisted change
But wanted my life to change

After a while I realized
I realized God had a plan

After a while I accepted
I accepted the sacrifice

After a while I submitted
I submitted my thoughts
And actions to God

In the beginning it was hard
It was hard to change

In the beginning it was slow
Slowly I began to act and think differently

During my submition I realized
I realized through submitting to God
I had become a better person

In the end it was hard
It was hard to admit
The person I once was

In the end I wanted
I wanted to please God
More than I wanted to please myself

In the end I resisted
I resisted my own flesh
More than I resisted God's plan

And in the end I realized
I realized I wanted THE LIFE
THE LIFE God died to give me

Now I have accepted
I have accepted the behavior
That allows surrendering to God

Now I know the meaning
The meaning of freedom
That freedom comes with a price

And now I know the difference
The difference between
Living in bondage and living in freedom!

GLITTERGIRL (Shelly) 7/09

I wrote this below my post when I originally shared it with this team back in 2009:

have been submitting to God since Jan. '09. I has been the hardest thing I have ever done, but the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my whole life. You see when you to surrender to God He brings blessings into your life. Things start to happen to you and it laterally blows you away. The power you feel, the peace you experience, the magnitude of life changing events that surround you......it is totally unbelievable. Funny thing about God, just when you think you are starting to get close to getting really good at surrendering to Him, He puts you in a situation where you need to surrender in a different way. Now, some people may get mad about this. Some people may think, you mean, just when you start getting good at surrendering He makes it harder for you to surrender the next time? What's up this that? But don't you see, that's the beauty of it all. God never allows us to quit growing. God doesn't allow us to stop maturing, in doing so God helps us to reach out complete potential! We are all a work in progress. Through this process of surrendering to Him and as we experience the hardships of surrendering we should remember that Jesus spent His whole life surrendering to God. You must seek Him to helping you through this. Surrendering to God can not be done without spiritual guidance, prayer, and constantly starting over and trying again. Through this constant growth we always have that opportunity to become more and more intimate with God.

I am no where close to being perfect at this. Let me tell you at times I have failed miserably. I think about some of the things I have done and said this year and I am put to shame. Yet, there have been other times God has been glorified through me, and I am very pleased.

I will need prayer always, and I ask for your prayers as I live my life surrendering my thoughts, actions, and life to God.

Thank you

THE ULTIMATE SURRENDER IN THE MOST OBEDIENT WAY

In this world that encourages you to do it if it feels good we can hardly relate to Abraham was so obedient to God he was ready and willing to sacrifice his Son- his ONLY SON! emoticon One might call him insane, detached from reality, or cruel and crazy. However, the bible describes him as obedient.

When you read about these people in the bible who have done the really hard things for God, and have listened to God instead of there thoughts, feelings, and other people we must remember that they were able to do so based on their love and their relationship with God.

The average person has trouble obeying all the laws much less obeying and listening to God. I have struggled in being a totally obedient to God. I made a choice a few years ago to surrender my thoughts, words, and actions to God, and in doing so it opens many doors to the word obedient. I realized that I had to care more about hurting God than pleasing myself to be obedient in ALL ways to God. Abraham not only decided not to be concerned about the tragedy of losing his son under his own hand, he also was able to put aside the feelings his son must have felt. Can you image, can you get the real picture behind that day? I mean the man held his son and placed him on the alter and had a knife ready to cut threw his beloved son! (" Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.)

What must have Abraham been thinking, how much pain had to have been in his heart, yet when his son asked him where the lamb was for the offering Abraham said God will supply the lamb., ("Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.”) Did Abraham know that this was a test or was he simply providing an explanation for the son who realized that surely his father had forgotten to bring the animal with them? We do not know because no other information was given in the bible. We can only speculate at best as we try to relate and understand it all. however the truth is that not many people if any can understand or relate to this event in the bible at all.

This is what I want you to understand and hold close to your heart when you read this chapter in the bible: Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son because he LISTENED TO GOD INSTEAD OF HIS THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, & OTHER PEOPLE., We must remember that he was able to do so based on his love, obdience, & his relationship with God.

So how are we able to become more obedient to God? It first starts with developing a more intimate closer relationship with God. We do things to please other people in our live because we love them and want to please God. Abraham wanted to please God more than he wanted to please God. A child obeys their parents sometimes because they don't want to get yelled at or punished, but sometimes they also follow the rules because although they may ormay not be aware of it, they also want to please their parents. One time I was talking to God and He told me the way He feels loved by his children the most is when we obey him. Think abut the last time you realized that your child could have broken a rule, yet instead chose to do the right things. How did that make you feel? Well, God feels the same way when we do things to please him, and follow the commandments.

I tell you the truth I have learned a lot about being obedient to God because I try my best to be obedient to God every day. I am not prefect, but God is not asking nor does he want perfection from us. He wants a loving caring heart, and He wants us to try our best every day. Sometimes we will fail at trying to be our best. Sometimes we chose to make ourselves happy by saying things we should not say, or doing things we should not do. However, just like having a bad eating day, or a day when you should have exercised and did not, the best thing to do is get right back to doing the correct things. Just like we must keep trying our best to live in a healthy manner, we must also be aware that thinking in a healthy way, talking in a pleasing manner, and acting in an honorable way which reflects Gods charter.

Genesis 21

emoticon Genesis 21:14-21

Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba. When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes. Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she began to sob. God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.” Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water...

emoticon A Closer Look

There have been times in my life when I was at such a dark and dreary art place that I saw no hope and no escape from a place I desperately needed to be removed from. During times in our lives we have all been there. Maybe you found out you have a serious illness, a parent or child has died. You found yourself in the middle or a divorce, lost your house, or your job the list could go on and on naming situations in your life when you just felt lost and confused. How could this happen to me you think, and what am I suppose to do NOW? In Genesis 21:14 Abrahman's maid Hagar found herself in such a situation. She was driven out from her home and as she saw it she and her child would die in the desert! Hagar and her son cried out to God and He opened Hagar eyes. God had plans to bless Hagar enough through she was not part of the original plan. He promised to make a nation for Ishmael and Hagar because Ishmael was Abraham's child. Hagar and her son was unaware of God's plans and thought they were going to die.

Think about the last time you were in misery, a time when you felt like your world was falling apart. In life we see things in black and white. We are either rich or poor, happy or sad, married or single, childless or child bearing. We live in a house or an apartment, we are either employed or unemployed. However in the spiritual world things are not black and white there are many colors which are blended to produce God's work which create a rainbow!

So often we look at our life and can not understand nor imagine how anything can change or work out for the better. it is during those very times we need to take our eyes off the situation and keep our eyes glued on God. We MUST CRY OUT to God, REMEMBER our prays, and then BELIEVE that God will answer them. We don't know what God is doing in the background while we are suffering, but we must believe that in some way God is helping us even though it does not look like he is. We need to believe in God & that He has a good plan for us no matter how it looks, no matter what people say, and no matter how you feel about it.

In the bible it says, Hagar cried out to God and He sent her an angel, and then God opened her eyes. This means she was unable to see what was in front of her. She was unaware of the fact her life would greatly improve even though she thought she was dying!

We must remember this story in the bible when our world seems to be ending, or we are walking through a nightmare. We must cry out to God. He will make good out of every situation that we experience. He may not appear until we cry out to Him, but He IS there in the back ground going all of the leg work "to get things set up". Know and believe He is always there for us!

The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

This information typed below was taken off of Youtube:

This slideshow storytelling is based on the Book of Genesis 18 and 19. The Three Visitors, Abraham Pleads for Sodom, Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed and Lot's Daughters. Sodom was a wretched place. Aside from its thriving economy, fertile lands the people observed a culture of sexual deviance and perversion, it was also arrogant, overfed and unconcerned (Genesis 13:13) (Ezekiel 16:48-50) (Jude 1:7-8). God would have let it stand if Abraham could have located just ten righteous people as he pleaded. Apparently ten such people did not exist there. God's patience finally ran out.

I encourage you to watch this interesting slide show set to music and beautiful art work:

Genesis 19

emoticon Genesis 19:16-17, 23-26

When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!” By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Don't Look back

I like watching a DVD movie which I have seen once before. It is fun to watch a good movie another time, and laugh at the same jokes and reflect on scenes which I have watched previously. However, even the best movies can be watched too many times. There is such a thing as a movie becoming stale if watched too often within a short period of time, or just simply watching it too many times overall.

It can be wise to think back and look back at your past. A person can learn from the things which they have done before, and one can even avoid making the same mistakes twice from the result of remembering a mistake they have made. My husband and I were just talking yesterday about the countless hours we spent on the phone getting to know each other before he proposed and I moved to Ohio. When John & I remember and talk about all the good times that we had it brings back warm memories.

In Genesis 19:17 we read "...Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away" Why do you think that they were instructed by the men to not look back and do not stop anywhere on the plain? Surly these men must have been told by God to instruct Lot and his family in such a manner. I never took much time to think about that sentence but I am thinking about it now, and I do believe there is some meaning or reason to it. I do not think that they were instructed to not look back because God was trying to be a control freak. I think God did not want them to look back to prevent them from stumbling, or falling as the result of looking back.

There are times in life which can cause us to stumble or fall if we spend too much time looking back into our future. A single person could jeopardize their future thinking too much about about a person they dated in the past. Too much time spent thinking about a person they are no longer are with may cause them to act in ways which could hurt their future.

Why do you think that Lot's wife looked back? She could have been curious, or she could have been the type of person that just could not resist the temptation not to do so. I think that we can relate this story to real life. As I was growing up at times it seemed like the rules I had to follow seemed to be in place just to rob my fun. As a kid I did not realize nor understood why I had to do this, that, or another thing. Yet, every rule was for my own good and I was not instructed to do any of those rules because my Mom was a kill joy.

God has a set of rules for us to follow as well which are called the ten commandments. As I was growing up I did not understand why I could not do certain things. It is possible that Lot's wife had a problem with obedience.

If we refuse to do the things God wants us to do which help us to lead a happy and safe life, we will miss out on God keeping us from harm when He tells us to do something which will protect us from having a miserable life. We do not have a window to look into the future, and there are times when following the commandments keeps us safe and help us to have a peaceful life.

A note from Glitter:

It took me a while to write out that last, Living It Out. I make a lot of mistakes, and so I spend a considerable amount of time fixing sentences and words.. By the time I finally finished correcting all of my mistakes I had spent a great deal of time reliving so much pain through memories of when had Uvietis. Although there were times when God blessed me greatly with unspeakable joy, and unbelievable blessings, the pain still causes me to cry. So as I re read my post again in attempt to fix my many errors tears roiled down my face.

However, as I now write this post I remember the time I heard hundreds of people praying for me one day- yet the only person next to me at the time was my husband. The beautiful memory of waking up with an angel next to me the day after one if my most serious eye surgeries fills my mind. Yes, there were many unbelievable things which happened during those three years. God showed His healing and power in many ways. My Uvietis Specialist was amazed a few times as he witnessed God's healing work through no medicine, and nothing which could be produced through man.

As hard as it is at times to share my deepest wound, I will continue to always glorify God as I step back to that period of my life.

We all have a story. Share yours with someone today!

Dear God what you have done with my life and through my circumstances is truly nothing short than AMAZING! God you never fail to surprise me with the things you do with my pain and suffering- how you use my ability to share to bless others as I magnify and praise you. The serious condition of my eyes happened 14 years ago yet you still give me reasons and ways to use my circumstance to help others see you and know about you, and give them the ability to trust you during uncertain circumstances. God I just need to say thank you for helping me and guiding me though this bible study. God it has become such a beautiful thing as the result of you and your help. God your Spirit is within this study, and I KNOW people have been helped through it. Thank you God! I just thank you!

God Has An Appointed Time For Your Circumstance

Have you ever wanted anything so badly you could not imagine not receiving it? Can you remember a time when you needed something to change, yet it seemed unbelievable for such a huge impossible thing to occur? There have been times in my life when I had waited in God for healing, or a good result from a drug, and instead of it getting better it became worse. You see, although I knew beyond anything I had ever known before that the miracle He had promised me would happen in His time, the waiting period at sometimes killed my ability to hope it would happen anytime time SOON!. God told me that He had healed my eyes, yet I waited for three years for my eyes to manifest the spiritual healing. During my period of waiting I endured several shots in my eye balls, and took medicine that disturbed my mind to the point that it seriously felt like something evaded my brain. I could not function. We sought answers and the found that behavior was caused by a rare side effect from the medication I HAD to take. Prednoisone was the drug, and I had to slowly reduce the medication before I stopped taking it. Not only did this drug cause me to basically lose my mind I also gained many miserable pounds. So, it was during this time when I would be facing another shot in my eye ball, or be waiting in the examination room to listen to my doctor tell me the current condition of my eyes. I remember moments when I wanted God's healing to be manfested in my eyes instead of dealing with all of the phyicological pain which I had been enduring for so long. I knew the healing had taken place. I had told people as the years passed, God has healed my eyes, it will happen in His time! My eyes were so damaged from called Uvietis that many things needed to be done in order for me to see properly besides surgeries, shots in my eyes, eye drops and medicine to use. I remember a few times I would be waiting to see if something would work to help me see better. As I said I knew the healing was done, yet I also knew going through this process was all God's plan. As I waited it out, as I listened to the doctor it was too hard to get excited about my vision changing as the result of the medicine, a shot in my eye ball, or a new contact lens. I had been disappointed before, I could not afford to be disappointed again. So, I would hold my breath not knowing if a small step in the right direction was made or not. I knew God could end it at any time and reverse the effect of all the damage which occurred in my eyes. Although my faith never faltered, It was the times when not enough progress was made fast enough that caused my inability to increase my hope. You see, it was easier for me to just wait sometimes than tell myself God's miracle would happen and be seen today. It was more comfortable to try to become numb sometimes than desire an outcome which may not happen THAT perticular day.

In Genesis 18 when Sarah heard that God would produce a son within her at the age of 90 she laughed. Don't we do something similar at times? When someone tells us something too good to be true will indeed happen don't we at times say, ya RIGHT! It is a self defense mechnium within our brains which protects us, a little thing called disbelief.

God said to Abraham,"Is anything too hard for the Lord?" There are things that we want in our lives yet we don't even pray about them. There are things that we need in our lives and sometimes we don't even ask for them. The truth is many people don't think God can do it, or will do it for them or another person. It is easier to just wait and see what will happen. Well, I waited for three years to see what would happen with unshattered faith. During that period of time I still asked God to do many things for me. At times I could not even hope instead I became numb. God understands this, but we must STILL pray for our needs to be met.

I there is not enough time to write about all of the things that my husband and I went through during those three years it took for my eyes to heal. Theree is not enough words to explain the seven years which followed that tested and twisted my endurance, and my ability to wait on God through yet more difficult and serious problems concerning ( not the healing of my eyes my eyes at this point HAD been healed) all the consequences of having had Uvietis. But I can tell you that through it all I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt THAT NOTHING WAS TOO BIG FOR GOD! During a time when I could have gone blind, within circumstances I could have suffered more, and in times when I just felt that I could no longer take it- God was there holding me, loving me, and taking care of my every need! There were several times I cried out to God, "i am not as strong as you think I am," yet God knew better. So many times I told God," this must end NOW," but you see, God knew a better way, and the best timing. During the moments I waited for the doctor to insert a needle into my eye ball it was God who had held my hand.

The only way that you can live through such things without being destroyed in some way is through depending on God, reyling on God, & leaning on God. During the time which I wrote about above I sought His power, and I magnified God's Spirit within my body I developed The Spirit of a Conquer! It is through God that I was able to do that not through reading a book, being strong, or having a lot of suppport through friends or family- I want to be clear of that.

I now stand on my faith after making a request through prayer. I no longer think, what if it doesn't happen and then become numb to reduce the pain of disappointment. I now realize if it is not God's will He will help me to accept His will. I now know ALL things are possible through God who strengthens me!

It is through my suffering, it is because of God's power and strength which He showed me and gave to me that I can write about God in such a way and believe in God's power. So please realize through my pain and suffering, and at times unbelieveable joy- there is NOTHING too big, too impossible, too risky, or too complicated for God to do. God asked Abraham,"is anything too hard for the Lord", and God is telling us- there is NOTHING too HARD for the Lord.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am the Almighty God... I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly. ... As for Sarai your wife... I will bless her and give you a son also by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her. Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son? But God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac [laughter]; and I will establish My covenant or solemn pledge with him for an everlasting covenant and with his posterity after him.

emoticon A Closer Look Part 1

Sometimes God plants hope within us, other times He plants seeds, which are thoughts and kinda like a vision to do something. Now we have a ton of thoughts running around in our minds so how do we know if a thought has come from God, or if a seed was planted by Him? Well, let me put it this way, if you need money God isn't gonna put the thought into your head to steal, THAT thought has come from the devil! Now, when God plants a seed or a thought into your head at times you may feel different when just ordinary thoughts are developed, really it is extremely hard to explain, but as you develop your relationship with God you will better understand and can feel the difference between the two. Anyway, to get back to my point, sometimes God tries to tell us something by planting a seed, or giving us a vision. Sometimes there is a still small voice within our hearts, and that voice is God talking to you. When God has planted hope within you, or when He is tries to tell you something many times it may not make any sense. God does not tell us all the information He just tells us the things that we need to know. We would be wise to obey and do whatever He is telling us to do. If God is telling you to do something trust me, if it is from God the reward is GREAT! As I mentioned below God has been talking to me for a long time. While I was dealing with some severe vision problems God told me to help people who were visually impaired. I asked God when He wanted me to do this. Do you know what He said? He said, I will tell you when you need to know! Funny huh? Well, about two months later I was taking a class and I met a woman who was blind. I talked to her sometimes, and on the last day I asked her if I could have her phone number, thinking that she probably needed a friend. Now, I was not even thinking about what God had said to me, I actually had not given it much thought at all for a while to be honest. However, during the first conversation I had on the phone with this woman I realized this was the person God was talking about. She needed some help. She had no support at all and was very poverty stricken. (The class we had both taken was for people with visual impairment problems, and was paid through the government) She was a single mother who had three daughters, one which was 11 years old. My husband and I ended up becoming very involved in her life, and helped her in many ways. The experience I had with this family was life changing, an experience I would have never had if I had not obeyed God.

What is God trying to tell you? Have you ever asked, God is there something you want me to do? Or have you ever said to God, what should I do in this circumstance or situation? Have you ever taken the time to wait while you are praying to see what God might say to you? How is a person ever going to know if God is even trying to say something to them if they don't even bother to listen? Trust me, the truth is you are not going to hear God since you are not even trying to listen. There are plenty of things in your life that will keep you distracted, and making enough noise to stop you from listening! Trust me if you don't get quiet, if you don't turn off the noise the devil is ready and willing to keep it on!

emoticon A Closer Look Part 2

What do you believe God wants you to be doing right now with your life? Has God dropped something in your heart recently? If you think God is trying to tell you something He will often verify it through something or somebody at some point...perhaps it is even THIS post!

In Genesis 17 God told Abraham (God changed his name from Abram to Abraham an in this chapter) that his wife Sarah (He changed her name as well from Sarai to Sarah) would become pregnant and have a son. Well, Sarah was not able to have kids any more, she was 90 years old! Abraham was 99 years old- the man was almost 100 years old!!! Like I mentioned above God sometimes will tell us or show us, or drop a thought into our laps and many times it will not MAKE SENSE TO YOU. Are you going to listen & trust God, or are you going blow Him off and miss out?

I will be honest and tell you that there have been times when God has told me to do things that I flat out did not want to do! Let me share with you one of those times. I had something seriously wrong with my eyes about 13 years ago, I had something called Uvietis. Well, during that period of time I spent four years going to eye specialists. One day while I was at the retinal specialist I noticed an old woman with an oxygen tank sitting in the waiting room. She was talking to another lady. While I sat there I heard her tell the woman who was sitting next to her that she had 8 children and not one of them ever came to visit her. Now, I was appalled! I came from a very close family and I could not imagine not visiting my mom or dad! As I sat there God said something, He said, go over to that woman and ask her if she would like for you to call her. I was like, WHAT! Hey, God, I don't even KNOW the lady!!! You want me to do THAT, oh COME ON! I said to God, God, if I go over there and ask her if she wants me to call her she is going to think I am crazy! I thought to myself, there is no way I could do such a thing, what does God expect of me anyway? He can't be serious! But, the fact was I knew God was very serious, He had been asking me to do things ever since I was a little girl, and they all involved helping people. It is hard for me to say no to God, so I knew that I would most likely do this just like all the other things I had done for Him... So, I started this little dialog with God, except I was the only one talking, lol. I started saying things like, well God they are in the middle of a conversation. I don't want to walk over there and just stand there; I have to at least wait until they finish talking. Then a few minutes later when they were not talking I would start rationalizing with God all over again. God, do you REALLY want me to do this? Hey, what if she laughs in my face, then what God? God, I can't do IT! Ok, I will... just let me wait another minute. This went on for probably about five minutes. The truth was I was stalling. I

was afraid, I had the fear of man on me; emoticon then something very bad happened, and my heart sank. The lady's name was called; she stood up and walked out of the wailing room and into the hallway which led to an examination room. Now, as I had mentioned before, I basically do what God asks me to do whether I WANT to do it or not. So, this was a very low moment for me. I had let God down. So did I think I would go to Hell over this? No way! But disappointing God was hard for me to except, although God said not a word to me. So, I sat there and thought, man I let her get away. Then realized I STILL had a chance, and I wanted to do this now more than ever before. I told my husband, umm, I need to talk to that lady. John did not act like I was crazy, he simply stood up and followed me. I walked up to the front desk and told the technician that I needed to talk to the lady who was just called. The technician just said, ok & led us to the room the lady was in. As I walked through the door my heart was beating fast against my cheat. It was now or never! I heard myself asking her if she would like me to call her sometime. Instead of the lady asking me if I was nuts, instead she said, yes, that would be nice. We exchanged phone numbers, and within a few weeks my husband and I started helping her. I mostly just sat on her couch and talked to her, but sometimes I would cook for her. She was a very lonely lady. A year or two later I was at the same doctors office and I was led to the examination room. The man who had led me to the old lady so long ago was now leading me to an examination room. He remembered me and asked me how Mary was doing. (the lady who I had helped) I told him that she had died. He told me that he remembered that I had asked Mary for her number. Then he shared something with me. He told me that a few months before I asked Mary for her number she had told him that she needed someone to help her. Mary had asked him if he knew anyone who could help her. He knew and I knew God had answered Mary's need.

So, let me tell you, if you feel God is asking you to do something don't wait until it is too late. Even if you don't want to do it, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and help someone for the sake of God. Let me tell you if you do the things God asks you to do you will never regret it! God blesses you abundantly when you are obedient. Besides God's blessings you are filled with a type of joy that you have never felt before! Now, let’s get real, I was in Mary's life for a while. There were days when I did not feel like talking to an old lady, and there were times I wanted to stay at home. This woman was actually not very nice to me sometimes. However, I continued to help her until it was time for me to stop. When you serve God there will be period of time when you just don't feel like doing it. There are times when I have better things to do than get on this team page and add a post, or write a comment, or welcome someone on their page. I love you all, but sometimes I just want to do something else. But, it is my love for God that kept me serving that woman even during times she would say something not too nice to me, and it is my love of God that keeps me leading this team in the manner that I do, even though I LOVE doing all the things that entails being a team leader. So, I tell you, I encourage you, serve others for God, and KEEP serving them even when you are tired, even though you are sick of doing it, and even when you no longer feel that rush of joy...do it for GOD!

emoticon Suggested Prayer

God I want to hear from you. My God I want to know what you want me to do with my life. Is there a special favor you have in mind that you want me to do for you? God help me to spend more time with you. Give me the guidance to develop a closer relationship with you. Help me to turn off the TV, to stop playing those games, and turn the computer off so that I have more time for you, and so I can focus more on YOU. God help me to do your will. God help me to do whatever you ask even if I don't want to do it. God when I don't understand why you want me to do something help me to do it anyway. I want to begin to please you more than I please myself. Help me God and I will do your will. In Jesus name I pray amen.

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar; so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.” Abram agreed to what Sarai said. So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my slave in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.” “Your slave is in your hands,” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her. The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.” The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everryone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”

In Genesis 16 above it says, The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”

Did you take note that the angel of the Lord told her to,"Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” God actually wanted her to submit to the very person who had mistreated her. Now, I do not believe that God wants us to be a door mat, but in this situation God asked Hagar to submit to her. God told her to do something very humbling and hard but he also encouraged hagar by telling her through the angel, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.” God is good and although this woman was not married to Abram He blessed Hagar's child through Abram's blessing from God.

emoticon Living It Out

Have you ever been encouraged during a time while you have been suffering? Sometimes God encourages us through a friend or a family member. Other times He sends us encouragement through time spent reading the bible or through your persist, pastor, or nun. When we are having a bad day or doing through a rough time be aware that God is with you whether you feel His presence or not. Be thankful that God will bring a smile to your face through something or someone when you least expect it.

Question:

Do you remember a time when you were having a bad day and laughter was brought to you, a smile, or some other way which you felt a moment of relief during your stress?

So the Lord said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”

emoticon Genesis 15:12-16

As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”

How Does God talk To Us?

God has been talking to me since I was ten years old. It took me a while to realize this but God talks to people differently. In Genesis 15 he talked to Abram through a dream, and although the bible did not go into to why, but God told Abram to get heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon. Now this is my own personal take on this, but I believe that this illustrates that God also speaks to us through animals. There are all kinds of different ways God talked to people in the bible through angels, people, animals, and nature.

Today not too much has changed. God is the same God and He still uses the same kinds things to talk to us.

God Speaks directly to us- God spoke to Samuel in the Old Testament. He spoke to Paul (then Saul) in the New Testament. God speaks to me very clearly sometimes. I hear HIs words and I feel HIs presence.

God Speaks Through Visions - There are countless stories in the Bible that talk about God giving people visions. A few year ago God gave me a vision which is being played out today through my Sunday School class. He gave me this vision, yet He did not complete it with details and meaning, He just gave me an idea through a vision. A few days ago I realized that teaching a group of mentally challenged adults at my church was the vision that I saw and heard in my heart.

God Speaks Through Dreams - This does’t mean that all dreams are from God, but some definitely are. For instance, there was a time when I lost contact of a friend that I had at the time for 21 years. I kept dreaming about her. I told my mom about this one day. She said, maybe God's trying to tell you something through a dream. I went to IL to visit my friends and and family. However I dud not make time to try to locate my friend Sheri. A weird thing happened though, the morning I had planned to leave I had another dream of Sheri. Now I had dreamt about my friend 5 times in the past 8 months. Instead of waking up and traveling back home I decided to go to Sheri's parents house who still lived in IL. Although my friend had moved out of her parents house long ago I thought at least I could get Sheri's current phone number. When I knocked on Sheri's parents door to my surprise Sheri stood right in front of me! We both could not believe our eyes, and we rejoiced and hugged one another. As we stood there talking I told her about how I kept dreaming of her. I explained that just that morning I had yet another dream about her. You know what, this is really amazing.... She had a dream about me too, and it was that morning as well!!! We went to a restaurant, and spent a few hours catching up. So, I truly believe that God was trying to get me to go to her parents house, because as she later explained she too was trying to contact me!

Prophecy From God - Sometimes God sends people to us to send a message from Him. This has been happening to me since I was a teenager. God speaks to me through my sister Rita, and my mom. Sometimes there are other people too like my Pastor, and sometimes my friends give me messages from God.

God Speaks Through His Word - God speaks to us through the Bible in our everyday meditation. Many times while I am reading the bible God will point out something in my life that I need to work on, of give me encouragement, to tell me to write something for the team.

God speaks through nature- in the bible God did this with a burning bush as well as other things. Many people have told me that God has talked to them through nature, and I believe that He has.

So there are many ways God talks to us. I know that God will use ANYTHING that will get our attentions. He does not discriminate what He uses to get our attention and talk to us. He will use a song, a movie, I mean God will use whatever it takes. So, be aware, be expecting, and be looking, and open your eyes...God IS talking to YOU!

Abram said to the king of Sodem," I have lifted up my hand and sworn to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor and Maker of heaven and earth That I would not take a thread or a shoelace or anything that is yours, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich." Abram refused to gain anything from that king. We would be wise too if we made vows to God to kept them. Abram was not tempted to receive additional wealth from such a person because he knew that God would supply all of his needs and desires.

Genesis 13

Genesis 12:1-3

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

Genesis 13:14-17

The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”

Have you ever prayed about something and then it seemed like God had answered your prayer? Things were going great and then something really bad happened to mess it up? How about this, have you ever been helping someone do something- everything is working out and then something bad happed? You don't understand what happened because you felt in your heart that God really wanted you to do whatever you were doing. Well friends things like this happen all the time and it is extremely important that we realize that even if we don’t understand what is going on we must stay focused on God and not the mess that seems to be all around us.

Let me take you back to Genesis chapter 12. Back in Chapter 12 Abram left his home and his friends after living there for 75 years. He traveled to Canaan & also went towards the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent. He also traveled to Ai, and then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev. Then Abram continued toward the Negev. Now at this point in this chapter it says that there was a famine in Egypt.

Now let’s stop there for a sec. Abram who lived in his home town for 75 years gave up all that he had known just to listen to God. Could you imagine waking up one day and hearing God tell you to leave your job, your father, friends, and your house and set out to travel to a place unknown? I mean the guy didn't even have a clue where he was going! God just said, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you," then a few verses later we read," So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him." So now that I have pained the picture, let’s remember what followed: Abram traveled a very long distance. During the times when he was hungry, tried, and weary he must had kept God's promise in mind to help him get through, and he had to be wondering, WHEN will God bless me, how much FUTHER will I have to go, and WHY hasn't my blessing occurred yet? The man was very obedient to God but let's remember, he WAS human after all. At some time and point he had to be wondering when God was going to: give me a great nation. How will God make my name great? What did God mean when He said," I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

I believe as we are waiting on God as we are tired weak and weary God sometimes does something to encourage us. This has happened to me and other people that I know. Now, Abram had traveled an extremely long distance, and much time had to have passed. In verse 7-8 it says, The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him. From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord."

So we see that God told Abram something absolutely wonderful, this had to be a very good day for Abram, ya know. Now pay attention because I wrote all of this stuff above to get to this very point. Abram was obedient to God, he waited for his blessing, and then built an alter for God. Not too much later we read that there was a famine AT THE VERY PLACE GOD HAD LED HIM! (Verse 10 Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe)

Come on now are you getting this? How many times have you been at this very same place? You say your prayers, weeks, months, years pass- then FINALLY it is like God wakes up and starts to make things happen for you. You are ecstatic! Then, before you know it is seems like everything has changed, and it has changed for the worst you think! Abram left everything; he traveled and traveled AND traveled. Just when God revealed yet another blessing he realizes there is a FAMINE! But God is true. God is faithful, and he takes care of Abram, his wife, and all the people who have traveled with him. Abram travels yet again & the king of Egypt treated Abram well, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.

I believe when things turn upside down and inside out God wants us to cling to Him and remember that he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”) I know that when we are hurting, while we are afraid, and when we feel that we can't go on, or I mean even if we are just having a bad day, I know God wants us to talk to Him. I believe God wants us to day," God I don't know what is going on, I don't understand what is happening, but I trust you God. I trust you God."

God has our back, and he did take care of Abram. God has been taking care of his children for a long time; He knows what He is doing, even though we don't.

Genesis 13:`4-17

The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go; walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”

Are you in a dark place? Are you uncertain what you are doing or should be doing? Have you been waiting for God to come through? Cheer up God is right there by your side!!! John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." And He has conquered your circumstance!!! Trust and believe, trust and believe!!!

Desr God I am weak, weary, & suffering. I am confused and it seems as though you have deserted me. Where are you God, you say you care but where are you to be found within MY LIFE? God I need you now. I need you to comfort me, to help me, and to show me a better day, a better way, and a better life. God although I do not understand, although I do not know how I will place my trust in You I come to you now. God I need your help. I need you to show me how to give this heavey burden to you. Please God magnify my heart with your Holy Spirit and let your power be felt within me now. Help me to cling to you as I put aside my pride. God show me the way. Tell me your words. Give me the grace to face another day. As I trust in you I know you will give me hope, grace & peace. In Jesus name amen.

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, or the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. f you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near our tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. Genesis 12

emoticon Living It Out

Sarari Abram's wife was described as very beautiful, When Abram & his wife went to Egypt Abram says in Genesis 12:12-13,"When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live." Sarai must have looked like a Super Model because in Genesis 12verses 14-16 it says,"When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that Sarai was a very beautiful woman. And when Pharaoh’s officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace. He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels. Now, I wonder why Abram did not trust that God would protect him & his wife? You would think that he would had since God promised abundant blessings to him. Instead of trusting God to take care of them Abram through his fear came up with a deceitful plan. I mean the guy practically threw his wife into the arms and bed of another man instead of trusting God to take care of the situation.

When was the last time you prayed and asked God to protect & take care of you? How much time & effort do you invest trying to meet your needs in contrast to leaning & relying on God for your protection & needs? Hey, there is nothing wrong with taking care of yourself. However, God wants us to pray & ask Him to give us the things that we need, He wants us to ask Him & believe He will do it for us.

So I encourage you to pray right now & seek God's protection, and whatever else you may need. There may be some steps you will need to take, but God will lead the way & will protect you and give you what you need.

emoticon

God I ask you to help me lean and rely on you for protection. I believe that you will lead the way, and help me do the things I need to do in my life. I believe that you will give me what I want. Please help me to stay close to you. In Jesus name I pray amen.

Abram (later named Abraham) had lived in Harem for 75 years when he left his home. When was the first time you left home? Abram agreed to leave his home, the country he had lived in for 75 years. Think how hard that would have been; think of all those people he would never see again. To say the least, they did not have moving companies back then! As a result of Abram’s obedience God Later blessed him abundantly. We often read in the bible that God blessed His children by doing unbelievable awesome mighty things, but I don’t think that we give it much thought why God blessed these people to such a great extent. Abram & many other people in the bible who were blessed by God were truly good people through and through. These people were a blessing to God I imagine for countless reasons. It shows to reason that these people were very obedient to God through their thoughts, words, and actions.

I have been a leader for this team for four years. I have become extremely close with several people on this team, Griff2734, Fillanges, & BobbieNorthern, to name a few. These people all have a close intimate relationship with God. All of these people have something in common with what they have chosen to do with their time. They all spent a good armount of time reading the bible, they meditate on verses sometimes, and they live an obedient lifestyle concerning God, and among other things have profoundly helped people God has brought into their lives, and just about every day THEY PRAISE GOD!. All of the people I have mentioned above have dedicated their lives to God in a deep and meaningful way, although they do not have a professional career related to the service of God. (they are not ministers, nuns, or church clergy)

The next time you about Noah, Abraham, Ruth, Mary- the mother of Jesus, Job & so many other people God abundantly blessed remember how obedient all of these people were to God.

More importantly, I want you to remember this: God looks for people to bless. God receives greast pleasure in blessing us. But lets remember this ok, In Psalm 67, God lays out a vision for His blessing and what His intenions are, these verses explain that God blesses His people; and God blesses His people so that we will bless Him. We are to receive blessings from God and then share what He has done with as many people as possible. In Psalm 67 this is repeated twice in verse 3 & 5, “May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you” God has in mind the people who will praise Him. He knows who them by name, are YOU one of them?

God wants to bless us and one of the reasons is so that all kinds of people hear about Him, and want to get to know Him. It says in Psalm 67:2 ,“That your ways may be known on earth” God wants us to tell everyone, "Look what God has done in my life!." In return of doing so more people will become interested in getting to know Him.

Psalms 67:1-4

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face to shine upon us, Selah (pause and think abut that) that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. Let us praise you, O God; let all the us praise you! Let the nations be glad and sing for joy...

We are born for many reasons. One of the reasons is to praise God. So the question is NOT, God what have you done for me lately?- THE QUESTION IS: Have you praised God today emoticon

emoticon A Closer Look

As I mentioned above there are people in my life that I met from the direct result of being a team member of this team. These people have been greatly blessed by God in abundant ways. I also have been blessed by God in countless ways, and my life has changed in so many wonderful ways it would take me forever to write about them. I am not writing this to boast, or bring attention to myself. I am sharing this to hopefully inspire you to raise the bar higher. To expect more of yourself, and change the way you spend your time. Use your time to get to know Jesus better, and use it to praise God.

Don't just take my word about the people I wrote about above. Their life has been shared with you in their blogs, and on their Spark pages. I encourage you to be inspired. I want you to receive their joy for God by reading their blogs!
