Hey Shelly,
This is incredibly interesting, how can I guess what the Lord wants me to do on my job? I have one inspiration but am not sure if it's God's or if it comes from the Enemy.
I have the same problem in my private life. I have two directions in fornt of me.
Does the Lord want me to choose one direction or another????
I hope you are feeling better my dear and pray for your healing.
Love,
marcy

I know, right!!! LOL emoticon God placed this message within my heart and I just KNEW it was time to get on the team page and write, write, and just keep on writing! When God's message was completed I stopped writing, and I believe it was His perfect ending!

I'm coming back my friend! I am still ill. But God has got me wrapped within HIs arms. I will be sending the team an update on my health. I have been gone TOO long... Four months, the longest break i have ever taken.

Whose Words Are You Listening To?

We all listen to the words that people say. The words enter our ears and before we know it our thoughts take over and the very words which we have heard reflect or become our very thoughts.

The thoughts we express creates feelings within us. Our thoughts once immediately converted into feelings become words formed into sentences. Much can be elaborated upon that subject alone, but this post is about words so let me stop here on that subject.

What words are you listening to and how are these tiny bits of information affecting your life? I mean have you ever sat down and thought about it?

Gods Words

As a young child God began to talk to me. Not because I was anyone special. Just one night after going to church I remembered a sermon which I had heard that Sunday and the priest (I used to be Catholic) had talked about how much God wants to talk to us but that we are too busy talking and requesting things that we just don't give Him any time to talk back much less listen. Well, I was ten years old at the time and each night would say a simple prayer which started out as, now I lay me down to sleep... That night after saying my prayer I began to talk to God. I told Him, God I want to talk to you. I want to hear your voice. That night was the first time God spoke to me. The next week I remember telling my mom about it and when she asked me how I heard Him I told her," I didn't hear Him with my ears, I heard Him inside of me."

I know that God talks to all of us. He longs for a relationship with each of His children. He talks to us through nature, through another person,a song, a commercial, words in the bible, I mean, I will tell you the truth and share that God will talk to you any way that He can get your attention!

The Whispers Of The Devil

But you know what else, the devil talks to us too! Oh ya, HE sure does!!! Call me crazy if you want to that is alright with me, I KNOW the truth.

So I will ask you again, what words are you listening to and how are they effecting your life? The bible tells us in John 10:10 that, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Only through your relationship with God will you come to know and recognize when God is talking to you. However, the verse above gives you a hint of some of the things God expresses to your heart. Many times God brings joyful meaning and messages to your heart. He may at times direct your path, and explain things that only HE can explain to you. As your relationship grows and you become more intimate with Him He may become at times as a stern parent & convict your heart, but be aware, conviction and condemnation are two very different things. Only the devil will condemn you with harsh and very unkind words directed at you. God, on the other hand will nudge your heart, pull at it and let you know that your actions hurt Him, that your words have offended him, and that you need to say you’re are sorry to Him and also to someone else.

God's Words May Be Unspoken

There are so many ways which God talks to us because we are all different. There are many reasons why we always need to become closer to God, but one of them is so that we can begin to know and feel the presence of God. Have you ever been in your house or apartment and someone else that you live with or are visiting and that person is in your house, yet not in the same room that you are in? You feel their presence yet you are aware that they are not in the same room that you are in. Well, that is the best way that I can describe the presence of God within a person's life. Within those moments God is the least active, but greatly appreciated. The effect I receive during those times is His peaceful presence within my life. There are other times God is right in the center of my heart and I feel... how can I ever describe it? It is like a feeling of no other or any living thing. It is the full presence of God and my total being is full of His love, His glory, and His magnificence!!! The magnification of God's Holy Spirit is within my body and I am in ecstasy of His brilliance within my spirit. Many other times it is just a still small voice within me and I hear his words clearly, just as I had 34 years ago alone in bed that night.

Gloom and Doom

I want you to think about my question, whose words are you listening to? God is trying to talk to us all, but so often the devil's words come to us louder and clearer these days. I will give you an example of how the devil often communicates with us. You could be washing the dishes and all of a sudden you remember a time in your life when you felt very sad, ashamed, or hurt. You did something or someone did something to you. Although those thoughts or the experience may have happened 20-30 years ago it is as though it just happened yesterday. Well, that IS the devil bringing negativity into our lives, and communicating with us. You may be trying to lose weight, or exercise and the devil will bring into your mind everything to do except exercise. He will bring food to thought causing you to put off eating healthy just for one more a e day he says, yet he knows that one day will turn into a week, a month, or maybe a year for some of us. He realizes that a subtle message, a quick thought can and will divert us to an emotion, a thought, and then before we know it we are doing or saying what we will later regret!

Although, let me make myself clear. I am not implying that lack of exercise or control of what we eat is the devils fault. Nor is the devil totally to blame for the things that we do. God is more powerful than any thought, emotion, or any evil spirit, and if we chose to lean on and rely on HIM then our actions will be pleasing to ourselves and God. Many times it is our own sin which leads us down a dark path, and it is our very own thoughts which bring pain and misery into our lives and other people's lives. When we follow the commandments much misery can be avoided within our lives.

But that is not to say that God and the devil don't communicate with us. By the result of our direct choice those words can and will impact our lives.

God Leads Our Way

As a young child after God had been talking to me after a while He began to tell me to do things for Him. The first time He asked me to do something for Him he told me to help a young boy and I was confused. As time went on and God continued to ask me to do things for Him I thought, God isn't telling me to do these things. I thought to myself, I am just imagining the whole thing, or I would tell myself, I am just TALKING TO MYSELF. But you see that still small voice IS as though you are talking to yourself but it is God, and you feel the presence of God within your body. It is a feeling like no other, and for each person, what can I say, it may be different for you. Later as I grew more spiritual and closer to God I realized that it was the devil telling me that God was not telling me to help Him. The first time God called out to me to do something for Him I was 12 or 13 years old. I was swinging on a swing at a park near a pool. I was facing the pool which was fenced in. While I was swinging I saw two boys playing in the pool with a ball. While watching them play I noticed that the ball had flew over the high fence. In my mind, I heard, go over there and give the boy the ball. Immediatly Now, I thought, I don't want to do THAT. However, I thought, God wants me to do this. Quickly I told myself, what a stupid thought, I mean, why would God need MY help? But, before I knew it I had changed my mind and walked over to the fence. As I began walking over to the fence to my surprise the young boy who had been playing with the ball had also begun to walk toward the fence. I threw the ball over the fence and a beauitful smile emered on the boy's face. As the years passed God would bring to me a request asking me to help other people. While I was in high school I realized that God for some reason was using me to help people.

We Are God's Servants

I am 44 yrs. old and although I have been doing things for God for most of my life now it has taken me 38 years to realize that one of the reasons we are put on this earth to serve God. One of the best ways to serve God is to serve God while being IN HIS WILL. What do I mean by that you say? I mean we can do all types of things which are good. However, there are some things which we can do which are the things we are meant to do with our time and effort, these things are the VERY things which are God's will, while there are other things we THINK we are meant to do and they just exhaust us. There are a few reasons that can explain that feeling of being overwhelmed and exhuastion. Many people over extend themselves to the point that while they might be doing SOMETHING which is God's will though service, the amount of service that they have involved themselves in is not His will. They are just doing too many different things, and or are in too many different groups. Some people cram in so many things in their lives and are involved with so many committees that not only are they not in God's will in serving Him, they have not even left any time for Him in their lives. Yes, they may be going to church, but how much time are they praying, and how often are they reading their bible? Doing God's will through service goes above and beyond doing good and favorable things which are good for the general public. There are all kinds of things which God wants His children to do, yet each type of service is directed and set aside for certain groups of His children to complete.

So as you are reading my words you might be thiniking: Hey, I don't hear from God. Or Sorry I don't have the relationship that you say you have with God. You might think, the how am I to know when God is talking to me, or what He is saying to me, and how I am to know God's will for my life? Well this post is not long enough to truly answer those questions (however if you write me I can give you an answer) Or you may have a close relationship with God, and you believe you are in God's will and have been doing just what He wants you to do! If so that is excellent, I am very happy for you! However, for those of you who need my help, read on.

It All Starts With God

Hearing from God starts with wanting to be with God, wanting to really know God. In the bile in Jeremiah 29:13 it is written, “You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart." Thirty-four years ago when God first spoke to me I wanted to hear from God more than I wanted a new toy. I wanted to be with God that night and hear His voice more than I wanted permission from my mom and dad to allow me to do somthing. I wanted to hear from God more than anything else. I asked God to talk to me, and although I could have heard Him a week later, or a month later, that night He chose to talk to me. As I said I am not different from anyone else. God loves ALL of HIs children. Do you want more of God in your life? Ask God to talk to you NOW- right NOW!

Discovering Your Relationship With God

Jeremiah 29:12-14

Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, ' and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.'…

The scripture above talks about finding a deeper meaning of God within your life. The verses above tells us that when we talk to God and when we pray to God He will listen to each of us. However, it is not the same motive as when we want to talk to our friend or a neighbor. In the bible it says, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 'I will be found by you,' God wants the desires of our heart to be full of Him while we are asking God to revealed to us. Our motives have to be pure when we seek Him. It will be more pleasing to God that you are asking to hear from Him simply because you want to know Him better, rather than because you want to know if your we have found your future husband or wife, or if you are going to receive a raise or promotion. In 1 Chronicles 28:9 it says, “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you...."

Walking Your Journey With God

1 Chronicles 22:19

Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD."

To extend my thoughts about this verse I want to share with you: Devote your time to God and never count the minutes. Spend time reading the bible, and if you already read the bible spend additional time reading it. Increase your prayer time and find deeper intimacy with God while you are praying. Through your time spent with God begin to build a living sanctuary by preserving your thoughts, prayers, and moments with God within your heart! Through these thoughts, prayers, and the times that you have spent with God, well, they become works of art which God then uses to build a convent of His will for your life. As we serve God this art work is shared with others. We serve God through the kingdom of heaven, and that is how it is completed through us as we serve God by our actions through His will!

Our Journey Ends With God's Promise

Jeremiah 29:12-14: Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.'…

Jeremiah tells us that when we talk to God and pray to Him He will l listen to us. When we think about Jeremiah's words we realize that we must search for God and then we will FIND Him ONLY when we search for Him with ALL of our hearts. Jeremiah continues and tells us that God will RESTORE us, will GATHER us within our HARDSHIPS, and he will also BRING US BACK TO HIM.

My friends we are all on a journey on this place which we call earth. It is a temporary place which was never meant to be our home. Do not make friends with it; instead search out the more meaningful things in life which are always spiritual. Find your relationship with God, rediscover it, or make your relationship more intimate, and go the distance! Walk past the roller coaster of life which we all have been on and instead run into God's arms through SEEKING, FINDING, and becoming RESTORED by God!

Questions:

1) A. What words are you listening to?
B. How are these words affecting your life?

2) A. In what ways has God talked to you?
B. In what ways do you think God talks to all of us?

3) We all have heard the devil whisper in our ears. John 10:10 The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I come that you may have and enjoy your life. What kinds of things does the devil whisper in your ear?

4) A. Make an action plan of what ways you will seek God, and how you can look for God deeper than you previously have. Write your answers as part of your action plan.
5) Find God through nature, people, & through your difficult circumstances. Discover God’s words on a daily basis and write them down in a special note book, and then create prayers out of these verses.

6) How do you think you may be restored by God if you crate & follow through in creating an action plan to seek God?
