I certainly understand how you feel. It is very frustrating but do keep in mind that hormones play into it big time. If you are getting close to your cycle you could weigh more due to retaining water. I know that is how it always was for me anyway. I would weigh several pounds more the week before my cycle and during and then the next week would drop it.

Thanks to the rain, I left 2 hours again today. I had to be at work at 4 so I left my house at 2. Didn't run into any traffic haha. I got up here at 2:45. Decided to stop at Subway. I really wanted Taco Bell but figured Subway was the better option, especially if I pile on the veggies and stay away from the sauces. Scale says I gained 8 pounds in a week. I was already dressed when I weighed so my mom told me to minus 3 pounds... which is how I got the 8 pounds. I think I'll weigh again tomorrow before I get dressed and see what it says. 8 pounds is a lot to gain in one week. If that is the case, it'll take me another 3 to 4 weeks to lose it. I feel like I took one step forward and 10 steps back. Ugh. This is so frustrating.

Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone else. Today is my Friday (finally!).

My hubby waited all day for the race to start only to have it get Red flagged due to the rain after only 21 laps. The race is set to be run today at 4pm and he is bummed because he will be working and miss the first part of it. I would not want to live anywhere near Daytona on race weekends or BikeFest weekends. LOL

You are lucky you got through the race traffic okay. I remember being stuck in it the last time we went to the race. We had to park over by the airport and it took forever to get to the track!! We got in our seats just as it was about to begin! And we left way early enough to get there! First time we wen was when the race got called because of a tornado in the area. Now I watch from my chair! Best seat there is! It is so much fun being there though. Vrrrooommmmm!!!!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. The weather has been so nice. Beautiful breeze here today and sunny. Can't wait for pool weather!

That was a very interesting article! Thank you!

I'm on day 5 of 6 here at work. Had to be at work at 3 but I left my house at 1 in the event I ran into race traffic. It wasn't so bad though. I got here half an hour early.

Hopefully, most of the traffic will be gone by the time I get off at 11. Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!

Hi ladies!
Getting buy over here in Daytona with the race coming up. People are crazier than normal! Not much new to talk about. Just wanted to drop a quick line!

Hope all is well with everyone.

Eileen, your upcoming trip sounds wonderful. One of my dreams is to be able to travel across the county in an RV. I want to visit every National Park in the continental United States and just enjoy the beauty that God has created.
You may not share some of our experiences but your wisdom speaks to us all. I truly value your insight and the biblical wisdom that you share with us. This team would not be the same without you. We are all so very lucky to know you.

I was reading about the history of Valentines Day on History Channel.com and it's pretty interesting. It's a shame that the day has turned into a commercialized holiday pressuring people to show their love through cards and candy. Why do we need a specific day for that? We should be showing our love through words and selfless actions each and every day.

Did you know that the oldest written Valentine in existence was written in the year 1415? Here is the article I was reading in case anybody is interested.

emoticon Woohoo April on paying off one of your cards! Don't take anything personally that your step dad says, it's quite an adjustment for them to have you and Gavin but that doesn't mean that it's a bad thing, he just needs to adjust and some people take longer. Obviously he either feels bad or maybe he is bipolar. Not a fun personality for sure.

Good news on the credit card. I'm determined this year to be out of credit card debt myself. I don't own that much, but any is too much!! I find lately that I don't want anything! I get the desire to shop, but when I try to think of something I need or want I come up blank. Guess I'm reached contentment emoticon Right now I have a closet full of clothes---some I haven't been able to wear that I will now and some that I will have to replace since they are getting a bit too large. It will be fun shopping then!
Got out for my walk this morning. Starting to be warmer in the mornings which is nice. Pretty soon it will be pool weather!
I kind of feel like the old grandmother on here since I'm much older than everyone, but I enjoy being with all of you. I don't have children so I can't relate to problems like that, but I do say a prayer for those who post problems. I do hope a job will open up soon for April.
I reset my weight goal this morning to where I really want to be. Not quite to the half way point yet, but nearing it. It's a miracle to me that I have been able to lose, but I guess I have finally found the plan that works for me. I'm a creature of habit so once the good ones kick in their work!
I'm planning a month long trip for us for spring in our motor home. Our final destination is New Orleans. My husband has never been there so I'm treating him to quite an adventure. We are able to stay at military bases along the way which saves us a lot of money so I'm planning a lot of side trips to make the trip more fun. Taking our time and doing something! Will be on line all the time we are gone so hopefully will have pictures to share and adventures to tell you about. For now it's just home every day so doing a lot of reading and being on line. I'm on Twitter---that vile site, but have found a lot of Christians on there that I follow. We believe we have a mission on there to speak up for the truth with all the lies and hatred so prevalent on there. I do pray for those I meet up with who are frighteningly lost. Breaks my heart at times thinking of their final destination unless they clean up their act.
Hope everyone is staying well and doing okay. Take care.

Can't see anyone's pictures or emoticons for some reason. Maybe Spark is having some issues.

Anyway, been having some issues with my step-dad. My mom is just the type of person who does for everyone. So she gets up in the morning and makes Gavin's lunch and she'll make his dinner at night... well, apparently I am a crappy mom because I am not the one doing all this. He even went as far as making him and my mom dinner last night and not making me anything. It really hurt. I am more emotional than normal being on my cycle but it made me cry. But then this morning, he was all smiles and acted as nothing happened. I swear, some days I think he's bipolar.

Well, I got one of my credit cards paid off! Woohoo! Slowly climbing out of this mountain of debt. Plus, I got a tax break on the interest I have paid for my student loans so far. Things are oh so slowly falling into place.

No news on the job front yet. Hope to hear something in the coming week. Keep me in prayer!

What a crazy amazing weekend at the North FL Home Show. This was our first really big event and we were scared to death about how it was going to be and how we were going to set up. Each morning we began with pray and we nailed the show. Our display got so many compliments and we have enrolled 8 new members so far with a few more still pending. I thank God for my sister's support and that she is running this business with me.

Here are pictures of our set up. The first 4 are on day 1 and the last one is day 3 after we added some more stuff to the display.

This cart was bought from a yard sale when we went to Venice and we sanded and painted it.

We upcycled these two old bi-fold doors by pressure washing, sanding and painting them to turn them into a display shelf.

This bi-fold door is a little wider than the other two and we upcycled it the same way. We got all of these doors from a guy for $15 total.

We bought this unit online. It is easily assembled and can be configured into whatever design we wanted.

This is after we finished adding stuff through the weekend. The shelves on the left were yard sale finds too. The floor is gray foam squares.

We are so excited about doing the Southern Women's Show in Savannah in a couple weeks.

April you do have what it takes!! You earned a degree with very high marks, while working full time and raising your son alone a lot of the time. If you can do all of that running this finance department will be a piece of cake! You need to have faith that God is going to give you what you need and trust yourself that you know this stuff.

Sorry that I have been MIA for a few days. We were super busy this weekend with the North Florida Home Show. I will post the pictures of our booth shortly.

My sister sent me a note and said she will be playing her flute in church with a few others who lead the music. Please check out this song! He Will Hold Me Fast by Keith and Kristyn Getty. It gave me the chills listening to the words. Pretty song!
April, sorry to hear you are having a down day. They do make us want to eat. I still get like that and my factory burnt to the ground years ago!
I had a terrible case of the eats all week. Craving carbs so bad. Didn't give in, thank God, and was able to lose another pound even though I didn't get out walking every day. I've got a way's to go still, but with being able to finally budge some weight I'm so determined to make my goal. Once I get back in the pool it will be easier. Some mornings are still too cool to walk to far. We get a constant breeze from the river which is kind of cold when the temps are in the 40's.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Brenda, I will message you.

Today is a melancholy kind of day for me. Probably because of my cycle. But I realized today that I haven't felt this way in a long time so that is progress! However, I am sure I gained weight this week because I have been eating crap stuff this week thanks to hormones and whatnot. A little disappointing. Was going to try and fast today but that didn't work out either. *Sigh* Oh well, won't be too hard on myself.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

emoticon on the couples session. Curious how Kyle is there? My brother has drinking and drug problems and said he has called around to find help but unless he has insurance he can't get help? Is there some place out there that helps? I'm not sure he really called around but he has tried the meds to get off drugs but nothing lasts and most of the time he pretends like he has no problem, I would love to see my brother find the help if he is really seeking it.

Thanks, y'all!

Well, I got a call from Kyle's counselor on Wednesday and had an impromptu couple's therapy session last night. It was good. We took away a lot from it. Kyle said it was the most he's opened up since he's been there, but he's always been able to talk to me. He doesn't share much in his group therapy but shared a lot with me. His counselor told us that his discharge date has not been set yet because it looks like he might need longer than the 6-month minimum. He said he's willing. He is the ONLY person there that is not court-mandated to be there. We talked about forgiveness and how he needs to forgive himself for his past or he will never stop drinking in his future. We also talked about the two of us and what he would do if one day Gavin and I were to die, what he would do and his response was to drink himself to death. His counselor said that he needs to get to a place where he thinks he is important enough to stay alive no matter our situation. So that is what he needs to focus on now.

Slipped up a bit here and there with my eating. But I just keep jumping back on the horse.

Listening to ET Thomas this morning
Are you being 100? Are you being 100% honest with yourself? 100% committed? Do you have a strategic plan? "Aim at nothing, hit it every time."

April the beauty of Accounting is that there are checks & balances. You've got this. As long as you are patient and you have the measures in place to "prove" your balances - you can do this. If you find yourself needing anything once you get in let me know. Just remember your Balance Sheet must be verified to prove the profit and loss reports. If any number on the Balance Sheet is not correct, the financials can't be trusted. Keep it simple and eat the elephant one small bite at a time. Enjoy, so proud of you keeping on and pushing towards your dreams. Your fear is wisdom, understanding the importance and proof that you will take it seriously and do an awesome job! And it proves you are not haughty and would be a great team member.

I'd say just be honest with these people and sell yourself. You studied this so you do know how to do it! The real world is different, but they will need to train you on what they need you to do so it will be something to have to learn. Just be positive and believe in yourself. Will be praying that it works out or that God opens a better door for you. Ask God to give you the trust in yourself you need---He will!! Keep us posted.

Hi ladies,
Well the interview went well. Let's hope I had the right answers and the personality they are looking for. The job has been open since May of last year. She's looking for not just who can do the work but who can get along with everyone too. Let's pray I am that person. My next step would be an interview with the Finance Board and that part scares me since I have no experience. Especially with a non profit organization. We kind of just skimmed over those in school. What if I am not good enough to be an Accountant? And this isn't just being an accountant, this would be a Finance Manager position consisting of a department of just me. I am overwhelmed at the sheer amount of information that comes with Accounting. It is a whole different ballgame in the real world. I hope they choose me and I pray I have what it takes.

Brenda, she is basically getting back everything she paid in, which is about 6% of her pay. She was just under the standard deduction, so since she qualified for the standard deduction and it was more than her income she was basically exempt from paying taxes. Next year she won't be so lucky. LOL

April, how frustrating! I agree, you don't want that job anyway if they can't even communicate properly. Can you imagine what a mess the records department is if they sent out a letter like that! Prayers that this next interview is the one you have been waiting for.

emoticon Nichole I get it... we are the ones with the bills etc. She must have paid in quite a bit of extra to be getting that much back for her age. Think of it as you are more calculated with what you give to the IRS. emoticon

emoticon April you keep shining, I agree with Eileen, God is protecting and like you said, who wants to be with a department that can't communicate better than what they have done so far. They have wasted your time and they do not deserve you and you definitely do not deserve to be treated like a number. Praying God brings the right job to you and that if the current opportunity is right that He will open the doors and make your personalities click and bring your talent to the front during the interview and follow-up processes.

Good evening ladies!

I totally thought I wrote out a post the other day and apparently I didn't. Silly me.

So, I put in an application for a police department to work in their records section. I got selected, got the call from the background investigator, she wanted me to show up January 20th to meet with her and go over my background information. So when I showed up on the 20th, of course, it was MLK day and no one was in the office. I sent her an email telling her I had shown up but she wasn't there. I spent the rest of that week emailing and calling her with no replies. So I finally sent an email to the records supervisor and said she had no idea what was going on but she would forward my email to the background investigator and her supervisor. Still nothing. I finally get a hold of the investigator after 2 weeks and she tells me that I was deselected and they don't have to give me a reason by law. Oh, and apparently I was supposed to get a letter in the mail. Well, I got the letter Friday. It has my name and address on it but they name on the letter is to "Ms. Jones!" Can you believe that? I plan on sending the letter back to them, highlighting my name and Ms. Jones and telling them that I am glad I was deselected just for the pure unprofessionalism I received throughout the entire process.

I have a new interview coming up this Wednesday for an accounting position. She knows I have no experience so that is a plus. Please pray that all those other interviews didn't work out because this is the one! I really want out of my current job. I am not sure we will have a department much longer. Plus, I really want to get into my new career field. Numbers I get. Numbers are easy for me. People.... not so much. Haha.

I hope everyone has a great week!

So I had an epiphany moment this morning. I did my daughter's taxes for her last night and, of course, she is getting a small refund. She was super excited to be getting back a little over $600 and this morning it hit me. Why is it that when I get back less than I wanted, I am annoyed? I should be thrilled and grateful to get back anything no matter what the amount is shouldn't I! Just a small lesson for me this morning on gratefulness.

Thank you. We are excited to see what God has in store for us at the SheTea.

Yes, Brenda these shorter days make it so hard for me too. When the sun goes down I am ready for bed even though it's only 6pm. I force myself to stay up until at least 9 but my body has always been regulated by the sunlight. If I didn't have to wake with an alarm clock I would sleep until the sun was up and that's it, no matter how early it is.

emoticon Nichole on the recognition and invite to participate in this breakout session. How exciting and you are getting to share it with your sister.

Wonderful pictures April. Keep praying as God has an ultimate plan for your job and for your marriage. Happy Anniversary to you both.

I had a nice birthday. My husband bought me some imported oil and vinegar from a store that I love and we had breakfast and lunch out. Afterwards we worked on some projects for an upcoming event I am doing and then went to my mother's for dinner, my brother was in from SC with his family also.

My sister and I were reminded of God's plan just yesterday. We have done a particular event the last few years called the SheTea. It is a wonderful event focused on empowering women and we work it as vendors. It has never brought us any new business so we had agreed that this year we weren't going to spend the money to do it and instead focus on Home Shows. Well, yesterday we received an email asking us to speak at a breakout session and as speakers we would attend the event for Free. Doing a breakout session will give us 45 minutes to connect with these women and my sister will be leading everyone is an Aroma Freedom Technique. God couldn't have been more clear that we needed to do this event again this year.

Brenda, I do hope you are able to get some help from the counselor. I know from experience talking to someone like this gives you a totally different perspective on your situation. Just be open to what they have to say. Not easy to do, but it will be helpful if you can.
April, I do hope something will open up for you soon. It is hard waiting I know. I had plenty of jobs from Hell.
Nice day here today. Was out for my walk this morning. Love getting out before everyone else is up. Hope everyone is doing okay.

emoticon Eileen and what a testimony of God's faithfulness. So glad you received direction

emoticon April praying for your job situation. I always wonder what God has up his sleeve for you, I know He has a plan and I am curious to see how things play out for you. I know it's something awesome so hang in there even when the rain clouds come rolling in.

emoticon Nichole how is your ankle doing?

emoticon I have been in and out of a funk for a while. Whew, it's a daily battle. Life sure has a way of testing you and I second guess myself too often. Needed Eileen's reminder of God's faithfulness. Much of my issues these days center around my kids. I have never stressed or lost sleep like I am recently and I have no idea why. I go see the counselor at my church tonight so hoping I can get some insight. Well hoping everyone has a great day.

Good evening ladies,

Thanks, Brenda, we actually hear that a lot but Kyle and I think he looks just like me haha. I guess everyone can't be wrong though.

Well, lost 4 pounds. So my first week I lost 7, my second week I gained 6 of that back, and last week I lost 4. So I have lost a total of 5 pounds since the beginning of my journey. I am not going to lie, the first week was so easy. After that, I started to miss fast food like Taco Bell and McDonald's haha.

Not much else going on. Still no word on a new job at all. Please keep praying for that! It has been 8 months since I graduated and I am getting very discouraged.

I hope everyone had a great Monday!

So sad about Kobe Bryant and his daughter passing in the helicopter crash. I pray for peace for all the families affected by the crash, not just the famous ones.

Good morning ladies. Trying to check in with everyone more often and make it become a habit. If I don't I tend to forget for long stretches of time. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Kind of a quiet one here.
Was just out for my walk and now ready to face the day. There were so many birds out this morning. The power lines were lined with them and they were all chatting up a storm. Love hearing them in the morning.
Yesterday I was praying about a decision I was trying to make and asked God to show me what to do. Not too long after that I got an e-mail from a friend on line that encouraged me so strongly about my decision that I know it was God answering me. It was an amazing experience. I know I was leaning one way strongly but wanted to be sure it was Gods direction for me too. Why do I NOT ask more often! He always comes through!!
Have a great day everyone!

April, such nice pictures. Glad you had the time together as a family. I'm sure it was very special for Gavin. I do hope your husband can come to terms with his problems and be able to be free again and have his life back. Nice looking guy. I loved reading about your trip to the lake and the other things. It sounds like such a nice time. Hopefully it will help your husband want to really work at his problems and turn his life around. Just pray for him.
Hope everyone is doing okay. Cool out this morning here. We were just out for breakfast at our favorite place. Home for the day now.
I forgot to get the scale out this week!! I really wanted to check my weight, but both yesterday and today I totally forgot. Losing it I guess. Next week! I have been behaving and getting in my walks so the news should be okay.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Good morning ladies!

As you may know, my husband and I celebrated 5 years married yesterday. Naturally, with him being where he is, we didn't get to celebrate with anything fancy, but I did manage to get the day off and Gavin and I went to spend the day with him. We had a good time. It was a beautiful day in Leesburg. We took Gavin to this place called Rural King, which is kind of like a redneck Walmart haha. They had live baby chicks and rabbits there and we took Gavin to see them. After that, we headed to the park to let Gavin play for a bit. We took a walk around the beautiful lake at the park. I love the beach but there is something the sun shining off of a lake and it glittering like diamonds that make you love God's creation. He sure does know how to make a beautiful world, if only people would follow in His footsteps to keep it beautiful.

Anyway, next up was the Gator Harley chili cook-off. It was the 7th annual firefighter charity chili cook-off. We ate some great barbeque and let Gavin play around in the bounce house. Two things Gavin could spend all day doing... swimming and bounce houses! He cried when we left. Then a trip to Walmart, followed by some coffee for our tiredness, then dinner, then back to the facility. All in all, it was a great anniversary. Kyle is working his steps and is trying to make amends. We talked about a lot, I told him how angry I was that he has missed most of his son's birthdays and Christmases. I told him I was angry that we were back in this situation and that it wasn't just our lives that he discombobulated but the lives of my parents too who had to take us in because I couldn't afford to not have help with Gavin. His sponsor is making him make amends with my step-dad which should be fun. My step-dad is an 82-year-old man child. He's not the forgiving sort. But all Kyle can do is try.

Anyway, here are a couple of family pictures I took.

I don't know why they are sideways...

I am not familiar with Restaurant Impossible but cool being able to meet the chef, April. I agree with Brenda, you both are going through a lot and Gavin is no doubt struggling with a ton of emotions. Keep praying and try to open up communication with him in a non-threatening way so he feels comfortable talking. He may not even be able to verbalize what he is feeling right now. My kids and I went to a family counselor for awhile after my separation and divorce. It helped them to be able to talk to someone that wasn't me.

emoticon Eileen and Nichole - I did not know that about Sketchers. For a while that's what I wore to the golf course walking with hubby. The specialty shoe place closed because the owner retired. Thank goodness we both got new shoes last year that that may be New Balance actually.

emoticon April - based on some of your other posts I would guess that Gavin is acting out for some reason. Something is going in his mind or he is putting pressure on himself but he is having a hard time adjusting some place that needs to be pin pointed. Be patient, keep your eyes and ears open and try to have one on one conversations (especially while driving). From the book I have been reading boys feel inclined to take care of mom so it could be he has feelings of inadequacy or stress or maybe he has too much freedom and is testing how far he goes or maybe he feels abandoned, could be angry with his dad and that makes him angry with himself, or he could even be angry with you. None are pleasant thoughts but the point is - don't make assumptions, start being intentional in your conversations and pray a lot that God would give you wisdom and help you to help Gavin in whatever way that might be. He has been through a lot but God promises to help us through these times so do not get down about it, it's just a slight roadblock and God will help you to maneuver through it. emoticon You are an awesome mom and Gavin is such a good kid - so you guys will figure it out. It's also a big adjustment for your mom.

Are you an extrovert April? Gonna have to go back to that because you purposely went and met a celebrity. You go girl!! emoticon

emoticon Sort of odd without having Rebecca pop in these days.

emoticon I had to go talk to my daughter yesterday. I've been asking her for weeks about claiming one or two of her 5 kids. Oldest just turned 12 and they have been living with us on/off for 10 years. Every decision we make is based on what is best for them, which is not an issue but financially having this responsibility with no tax benefit to balance the added expense is unfair. She has ignored every text I have sent her and then it took 15 min of back and forth before she finally said we could claim one of them. One is claimed by his dad every year. It is hard giving her the space she needs and yet taking care of us at the same time. Hopefully she follows through. I took her a paper to file to help her get her one ex to pay through the courts because he is getting away with no paying through the county. Family can be so very complicated at times but like I told her - team work goes a long way and working together it can be done.

Good afternoon ladies!

Did I tell y'all about that Restaurant Impossible was in town? I got to volunteer last night and it was so much fun! I am going back tonight to meet Chef Robert Irvine. I can't wait.

My fitbit charger stopped working. Thankfully they are not that expensive on Amazon so hopefully a new one will be here by tomorrow. The only bad thing about wearing a chargeable watch haha.

So Gavin really upset my mom last night. To the point she cried and prayed to God for patience. I don't know what to do with him, or what gets into his head. I guess, last night, while I was out volunteering he got into my lotion and pretty much had it EVERYWHERE. That is not an exaggeration. I saw pictures. He is a smart kid and I am hoping that this destroy everything and no common sense will pass. Some of the stuff he does I just don't get it. Is he just being a boy? Will this destructive phase pass? I cry all the time because I don't know what I am doing or how to fix whatever I'm doing wrong. I'm at wits end.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!

New Balance is one of the brands that the doctor said would be better than my Skechers. I have a pair of them but wasn't wearing them because they do have a pretty hard sole and the inserts I was using don't quite fit in them. I am wearing them today, so we shall see. I go back to the podiatrist in a couple of weeks. I am glad because the shot he gave me has already worn off and my heel is hurting again.

It was in the 40's here this morning. I slept in until 7 today so skipped my walk. I usually get up and go out by 7. Lazy!
I had Sketchers sneakers and they were not good for walking. The ones I have now are New Balance and made just for the problem I have of pronating---rolling my foot inward when I walk. These are sturdy and make me walk correctly. Really have made a major difference! I really can't wait to get back in the pool though. Going to go more this year.
Hope everyone is doing okay. Just a lazy stay in the house day today.

Woke up this morning to temps in the upper 20s. Brrr!! emoticon That's even chilly for me who likes it cold.

Had a wonderful weekend at a conference in Venice, FL. Heard some fantastic motivational speakers. If you ever have the opportunity to go hear Teri Secrest, Kerri Birkley, or Dr. Oli Wenker, I highly recommend it.

April,
Gavin looks like he was having a great time. I'm glad he enjoyed it and that he has a friend he feels comfortable with.
Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby.

Glad you are getting in your walks, Eileen, and that your new shoes have made a difference. I was just at the podiatrist last week and got a shot in my heel. The quality of our shoes is starting to mean a lot to me. My doctor said that the Vionics and Clarks I've been buying are good choices but told me that my Skechers tennis shoes weren't supportive enough. He said I needed a tennis shoe with at stiffer sole.

emoticon What a memory for Gavin, April - how nice. I remember those feelings of nervousness with sleepovers. How is your job search going?

emoticon Bought more MCT oil for my coffee last night. That usually helps so will see.

emoticon Getting my steps in fairly easy again - well I say that but now that I think about it, I've had to spend about 15 min a couple of evenings stepping in place until I got to my mark. emoticon I guess I am just a little more intentional these days.

emoticon Off to work I go, hope everyone has a good day. I forgot to grab my special protein packed oatmeal in a cup from the store so I have another packet and will have to add a few nuts for the protein part today. Not sure of lunch yet. I've been doing salad with tuna, chicken or salmon packets at the office. That works well but Mon-Fri I eat lunch with my youngest son who works part time with me and so it's not always easy to order in on plan.

The wind is really blowing around out there.

That sleepover looks like a lot of fun. Glad he enjoyed it so much and didn't feel the need to come home. Hopefully he will have a good lasting friend.
I used to be a clinger and I wasn't an only child. Guess that is just my personality type.
Hope the visit with your husband goes well. I hope he can get the help he needs to fight his addiction. Maybe some day he can move on and live a normal life. Just keep praying for him.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Such nice weather lately and finally cooling a bit here. Been able to get out for my walk daily. My new sneakers which were kind of an investment have done the trick with my walking problem so hoping to be able to work up to over a mile eventually. Taking it a day at a time.

Gavin had his first sleepover last night! Adam (the dad) said the boys did fantastic last night and Gavin had a blast with Adam (the son). Here is a picture of their sleepover!

I was really worried that he would want to come home in the middle of the night. But I am super glad he didn't and I am super glad he now has a friend who likes him as much as he likes other kids. I think because Gavin is raised as an only child that when he gets a friend he clings to them a lot and sometimes he can kind of smother people. His dad is the exact same way. So I am glad that he now has a friend to hang out with. He's been making a lot of friends that I plan on seeing if he can stay at this school through elementary. It is not in our zoned area but I love it. On the other hand, the school we are zone for is rated one of the top elementary schools in the county. I need to pray on that decision. Who knows what the end of the school year will bring.

Well, I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday. I have already started my morning off with a bit of excitement here at work.

Yes, Brenda, it is! We will be married for 5 years on the 25th. I took the day off from work and Gavin and I are going to go spend the day with him. I wish I didn't, but I miss that fool! Still sticking to my guns, though, about him living on his own for a while. Hopefully, his need for sobriety will win out in the end.

Well, Gavin is getting ready for his first sleepover tonight. I am a nervous wreck. It will be his first time sleeping over at a friend's house. Turns out, one of the firefighters I used to work with when I worked at the PD has a son who is in Gavin's class. So it makes me feel better that he's not going to a complete stranger's (to me) house. I hope he does well and that he enjoys himself.

Slipped a little this week on my food habits. First week, great! Second... not so much. Surprisingly, however, I went over my intake just one day. I will try not to be disappointed if I didn't lose as much as I hope. Even 1 pound is 1 pound less than I had.

I hope everyone has a great day!
