Hello on Monday. Yes yesterday was rest day for me. I needed that after the wedding on Saturday. I will try to put photos on here. But not sure what I am doing.
It was a different sort if wedding. The brides Italian. The groom English.
Here the families come in church before the bride , the grooms family sit in the right side the brides on the, left.
Not this one. The brides family followed her in the church in Italian style. They all looked bewildered, looking round the very plain channel, they are Catholicís of course . They looked warily round .they stood a and sat as the rest if us did but I donít think they understood much of what was going on. The bride her mother and sisters are in the Latter Day Saints church as the groom is. Thatís where they met .
I am sure they are well suited and will be happy.
Itís medical week again for me, well next two weeks are. I shall take one day at a time. Itís the only way I can cood. Nothing planned for today I need to sort the fridge and freezer out then plan meals for the week. Will need easy ones on hospital days .
Enjoy your day. Irene . Me with my granddaughters husband not bridegroom

Hello all, I read back through three days worth of posts but won't respond to all tonight.

I have been having a quiet several days as my dh is in Minnesota visiting his twin sister. He flies home tomorrow so will be here by supper time if not before. I just lazed about enjoying my solitude Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and today. Today I turned 79 all by myself. Rokki and I walked for an hour along the ocean. It was a lovely sunny November day. Dh and I will go out for birthday dinner later this week, probably. I have a hankering for Thai cuisine and we have two or three good Thai restaurants here.

I am not watching any of the currant news programs. Much more peaceful to stay away from that these days for me.

Take care all,
Mel

Hope everyone had a lovely Sunday.

Irene, good to hear that you were able to attend the wedding. Now you can rest and take it easy. I too am a migraine sufferer for most of my life and do know how debilitating they can be.

Today, went for a walk to the fabric store to buy the Christmas material for the apron I want to wear at the craft sale at the end of the month. Going to put a wide pocket across the front and divide it into 3 sections with velcro closures. Will use this to keep the money in and right on me as the crooks are out in full force right now doing their Christmas shopping. So if they want my $$$$ they have to kidnap me and all my craft wares with it emoticon

Morning ladies,

Flying through, my news program is about to begin. After that is over, making eggs for breakfast and reading the newspapers. Today is Football Sunday and both LA teams are playing.

Temperature is way above average with a high of 87 today emoticon

emoticon Hi ladies, I'm having a hard time waking up this morning, lol. Beautiful sun shining, my little bird is chirping, what a wonderful start to my day!

Irene, I'm so happy that you went to your grandson's wedding, that will mean a lot to him. And the family photos will be treasured. It is difficult to smile, talk to people when you don't feel up to it but you showed great strength in doing just that! Have a couple of rest days if you can.

Bev Anne, it's great news about your eyes, they should be okay. It will be difficult just knowing you can't go out with no car but as long as you have plenty of food, you'll manage fine. You've got the right attitude. My daughter had a very happy birthday yesterday, thank you Bev Anne.

Karen, I think it's wise not to do the noodle recipe in the crock pot, just to be on the safe side. I love salmon noodle casseroles and now am thinking of making one this week - it sounds good.

One of my daughters sent me a photo of Melissa signing 'I love you' to me, while holding the card and gift I sent her - she had a big smile on her face. I don't see her often and can see she is showing her age now, never thought I'd see that. We talked on the phone for a while, I could not understand all the conversation but could tell by the tone of her voice how happy she was and she kept telling me she loved me. Kind of made me want to cry but for happiness.

Coffee time for me now. What are you friends up to today? Not sure what I'll be doing yet. Enjoy your Sunday.

Quick hello and catch up The wedding was wonderful ! simple but lovely. Everything clicked in place, I have photos. I will show but today I feel worn out.
It had been hard going for me I was high on painkillers fighting migraine. They made me shaky. I smiled a lot ,sat down when calls for group photos came ,I couldnít stand there for ages. But I am on family photos .
I am glad I went but feel I need a very easy day today to recover as coming week has three medical events , At times I thought I should not have come here. But I am glad I did. I saw my grandson Jake married to his lovely bride Carlotta

Good news this morning -- the drops the optometrist gave me are working and the pressure in my eye is way down today so I just have to keep putting both drops in my eye (one once a day and the new one twice a day) for another 3 weeks. The new drops are usually used for patients with glaucoma but they work to counteract the side effects of the drops I am using for inflammation.

It looks like we will have a quiet week now without a car. We have lots of food so we can make it through until the car is fixed.

Gloria, I hope your daughter has a very happy birthday and I hope everyone else has a great weekend.

Most of snow has melted & it is warming up to 37 degrees today. I have no plans. I need to find a recipe for tuna & noodles but it will not be in the crock pot.

Gloria... It does sound like a nice arrangement for your daughters.

Irene... I will be looking for your post on granddaughters wedding.

Carol, enjoy that birthday lunch today. No, my daughter Melissa lives with her oldest sister, Denise. Melissa is high functioning, she works daily and she can make her own phone calls, she can read some, write some, etc. She's a very cheerful person, has had same boyfriend for several years now. My daughter Denise makes sure she gets good meals, does her laundry, they get along great! It's the best arrangement for Melissa and nice for Denise to have someone living with her. Win-win situation.

Morning ladies,

Moving really, really slow this morning. Didn't sleep well, for some reason I was cold most of the night and finally got out of bed at 4:30am

We are taking Bill's sister out for a birthday lunch today and then he and I will walk in the park and enjoy the outside. Temperature will be 77, with tomorrow 87 - super crazy weather.

Gloria - is Melissa in a group home?

Lynda - glad your eye appointment went well

Irene - that is crazy what your GS and bride didn't get done. Lordy, the poor families running and scrambling around

Bev Anne - well that was nice you contributed to the economy by zipping and zooming around in a taxi

Dot - LOL, taking hubby with you is dangerous, was he planning on doing the cooking?

Karen - the senior center in our city offers rides to 2 major shopping malls + all around town for only $2.00 each way - amazing since everything out here is sooooo expensive

Waving to all emoticon

emoticon Good morning everyone. Today is my youngest daughter's 47th birthday. She has Down Syndrome and birthdays are fun times for her. She celebrates today with her two sisters, that's how they like to do it, they used to come to my home but there is 'no smoking' when at Mom's so they prefer to have her celebration at one of their homes. That's fine with me, I get to talk with Melissa on the phone and wish her a great day! I planned to do laundry today but our building has no hot water!! It will be a quiet day for me.

Lynda, so glad your eye appt turned out well for you. Yes, our eyes are so important, we have to take good care of them. No word from Nola, I hope she isn't near those fires too.

Irene, I hadn't realized that you had such bad flooding and glad you got another date for your hospital appt. Oh my, that's young folk for you, some do great but others - oh my! I know you'll have a wonderful time, let us know all about it!

Bev Anne, I hope all goes well with your eye. As I told Lynda, our sight is so important to us. It's different getting around in cabs, isn't it.

Dorothy, your husband sounds like me in a grocery store - my list is small but then I pick up 'this 'n that' and soon my cart is full, lol.

Karen, how nice that your senior citizen center offers rides to those who need them. For those of us who don't drive, we generally depend on family to get us to the stores. Taxi's are okay but can be expensive.

Carol, thanks, we'll figure out a good pain plan. I tried to picture those 2 ex-bikers driving that sofa and couldn't help laughing! What a sight that would be!

I'm going to have my coffee now and see what else I can do instead of my laundry. I'm sure I'll think of something! emoticon
Enjoy your Saturday!

Todayís my grandsons wedding day. The run up to it has been so stressful for his family. The couple wanted it simple and they would ro everything them selves. Right !,,
A couple of weeks before the event my dil asks have you got the music sorted ? What music?
Whoís your best man? Er donít know yet ,
So it went ,they had done hardly anything only order pizzas for evening ! so of course family then weíre running round , getting decorations for the church hall plus 101 other jobs
Not helped by torrential rain for days leading to flooded areas.
I couldnít get to hospital yesterday for heart scan. Some local roads were flooded , traffic diverted to our small town with one major road going through. Traffic was crawling along nose to tail. We did try to get to hospital but gave up and came came home . Phoned hospital they understood and gave me another date,
The traffic was the same outside the wedding family house. They needed to get out to get last minute things done. Panic set in I assume it got done I darenít ask
Now this morning we all have to get to the church for the wedding. Itís eariy and dark yet but I donít think itís raining I willĒlet you know later how it went

It's quite common here to have deer collisions. Everybody seems to have a story or two. I was not in the car when it happened but my husband was pretty shaken up.

Today we went to the optometrist for a pressure test and the pressure in my eye was still high so she prescribed some more drops and I have to go back in the morning and probably again on Monday. Our daughter will take me tomorrow but I will probably need a taxi again if I have to go next week. I also had them replace the left lens in my glasses with a clear piece of glass as a temporary measure until my eyes settle down and I can get a proper prescription. I can see better with no lens than with my previous prescription but it's still not perfect.

Today, since the Eyecare place is near the Walmart we went there for the prescription and some cream I wanted there and had a burger at another place nearby so we spread our taxi fare over a few other places and made an afternoon of it.

Now I am off to watch TV for a while before I go to bed.

Hi Ladies. Not much happening in this neck of the woods today. Dh and I went to the drugstore to get our flu shots, then we went into Metro supermarket for a "few" things. Dh was throwing so much stuff in the basket (I refused to get a cart for that very reason) that it weighed a ton. He's dangerous in that place as he wants everything he sees. I do get a laugh out of him though.

Yup, it's a crazy world we live in Carol--people going down the highway on a sofa complete with lamps emoticon . I hope they are enjoying their furniture while sitting in jail. Nothing surprises me anymore either.

Bev Anne, glad you are ok. My sister and her dh collided with a deer a few years back. They were miraculously ok but the car and deer were a write-off. Deer tend to come out near dusk so I'm told.

A special hello to all our team. Enjoy your evening.

I slept late this morning. It is a pretty normal Friday at my place. Nothing new to report.

We do not have a Taxi service in my town. The senior citizens center offers rides to medical appointments & I think to grocery stores. We also have transportation for low income people to get to work & medical appointments.

It is going to warm up to the 40's next week!

Morning ladies,

Well now I have heard, read and saw everything. The police in LA just pulled over 2 ex-bikers with goggle on for driving a sofa on the freeway. Yup, you read right, they were sitting on a leopard couch on top of a platform with a motor, there was a lamp and old fashion radio on it with them. Only in LA emoticon

This morning I have Stretch and Flex class and then going to a Disaster Preparedness Expo. Sure hope I never need it but we are in an earthquake and fire state

Temperature continues to be 70

Bev Anne - I can understand about the deer. When I lived in MI, my ex-hubby was driving to work in our new car and 2 deer darted across the road, 1st one made it, the 2nd hit our Ford Escort and then wounded went into the woods. The front end was smashed, Ken was a hunter so got a special license and went and hunted the wounded deer. We donated the meat to a food kitchen.

Gloria - hope they find something that works for your back

Dot - that next trip sounds great = food, drink and shopping and enjoying the lights

Karen - the seminar was interesting but while I have moderate arthritis I feel that I am not that severe to have an implant that blocks pain from my back to brain.

Waving to all, TGIF emoticon

With the holidays right around the corner, it might be time to start brushing up on some of your skills.

Have you been eating everything sitting down, slowly, and mindfully?

Responding to sabotaging thinking? Giving yourself credit? Making time and energy for dieting?

If not, make a commitment to work on your basic skills this weekend to help get you in the right mindset.

Bev Anne, I understand how your husband feels. Being totally deaf and having a Cochlear Implant, a group of people sounds horrendous to my ear processor! I much prefer to be with one or two people. Your husband has the right idea, to have his coffee in a quieter place like McDonald's.

He was so lucky not to have been hurt when that deer crashed into his car! Shocking experience to have had!! I do hope that he is really okay. As for going without a car, I understand how you feel, having to ask your daughter to take you anywhere when you know she is busy. I feel like that with my family - everyone is busy with their own life & things and I dislike having to ask. They assure me they don't mind but still, it's hard to ask. Wow, wish we had a discount with a taxi - for me to take one to Walmart, it costs me $20.00 each way! I only did that once!

Have you been taking many pictures since you moved?

Good morning everyone,

Gloria, my husband doesn't come to coffee at the complex because of his hearing issues -- the multiple conversations are just noise to him and he can't hear anyone. He came over yesterday and had a coffee but he didn't stay long and said it was even noisier than he expected. There are so many conversations going on that even I can only hear the person next to me.

A week ago when my husband was heading out for his morning coffee at McDonald's (it's quiet there and he likes to journal with his morning coffee) a deer came bounding out of the river valley and ran smack into the side of our car. It didn't do a lot of damage to the car but it has been a pain trying to get it fixed and it looks like it may be another week before we get our car back from the body shop. The deer did not survive and my husband barely survived the shock. So we are without a vehicle for a while. Fortunately, we have plenty of food stock up so we won't have to rely on our daughter to get us to the grocery store. She is very busy these days with the production at Windmill Theatre Players so we don't want to impose on her at the moment. She did take time off work to take me to the eye doctor already this week which was much appreciated. Today I will take a taxi to the optometrist to get a pressure check done on my eye. We do have a program for seniors to get discount taxis in our town but we have just applied for the program and don't have our discount cards yet so we will have to pay full price.

I hope you are all doing well.

emoticon Good morning. I wanted to have my cereal and coffee before I got on SP because the time just goes once I get on here, lol. We're going to get up to 34F today but then we're having a cold spell starting tomorrow, I mean a really cold 10 days coming up. I have no intention of going out for a week or so, best to stay in if we can.

Carol, glad to hear your dental appt went so well. Well, in the 30's isn't too bad as long as there isn't a strong wind. By time we got back home yesterday, the wind was getting fierce and we felt the cold!

Karen, my doctor said yesterday that he's getting in touch with a pain management place so I can go there and see what all options there are out there. I'm glad that you're finding what works for you and it really is best to stay home where it's warm and cozy if you don't need to go out.

Dorothy, are these bus trips day trips only? Your next one sounds so nice and it would be beautiful at this time of the year at Niagara Falls. It's too bad you won't be on that one.

Bev Anne, I'm happy to hear that you're doing so well. That was a serious thing to happen to your eye and you did everything the doctor said to do. Does your hubby go for coffee in your complex with you? It sounds ideal to me.

My doctor appt yesterday ran long and the outcome is he is making my pain meds stronger and I get one extra one a day plus I go to pain management for my back and leg. Surgery is out for my back, too risky for me. Spinal Stenosis is constant and sends pain down my leg all the time. I'm sure we'll come up with ways for me to handle the pain.

Enjoy your Friday - what's your weekend plans??

I am doing well and the doctor was pleased with my progress at my appointment yesterday.

Dot, That sounds like a great trip on December 4 -- I went up that tower in Niagara Falls many years ago and have some great pictures of the rainbow over the falls that were taken from there.

I went for coffee in our complex this morning and enjoyed getting out and being with people for a bit. Now I still have lots of Emails to go through -- which will probably keep me busy for several days.

Bev Anne, I'm so glad to hear you are ok. That's mighty serious. Do be careful.

emoticon to all. Just having a lazy stay home day today. The warmer temp. (0c or 32f) and a bit of sun helped melt all the snow on the driveway that we got last night so no need to stick my head out the door today. Will get that material on the week-end for the apron I want to sew and wear at the sale at the end of the month.

Been busy this morning making sure all is in place for the next bus trip out on Dec. 4th. I'm not on that one this time, just doing all the background work. The group will be going to a winery for a stop and shop, a cheese factory store for samples and shopping, then on to a late lunch on top of the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls followed by a driving tour of Christmas lights in the Niagara area. Should be a nice way to end the year. Hope there are no snow storms. Niagara area can get some doozies.

BEV ANN...wow on that detached retina. I have heard how serious that can be. I bet you were glad to have recorded movies to watch.

IRENE... I love AMAZON, too. You are an inspiration to me & many others.

CAROL... I remember how my dad use to love to watch news 24/7. My mom hated it & wanted to watch I LOVE LUCY reruns. Did you learn anything in your pain seminar?

I am using my TENS unit every morning. It is convenient to attach to my back & sit back & enjoy my morning coffee & devotional reads while the machine massages my pain areas. It seems to help.

This is my 4th day of staying in the house. I could go out as I am sure the roads are cleared but I have no good reason to leave my nice warm house. It has warmed up to 31 degrees outside.

Enjoy the day!

Morning ladies,

Taking time for myself, Bill is at the lab giving his plasma donation, the house and neighborhood are quiet - I am in heaven.

Bill has been watching the impeachment process 24/7 and lordy I am all filled up with it.

This morning I will go to Costco as soon as it opens, then at noon, I have a seminar on pain, it is given by a Dr. I admire. Later this afternoon, it will be time to walk the hood.

Weather will reach 70 today

Gloria - the dentist appointment went well, she filled 2 shallow cavities and I received a fluoride treatment (have dry mouth, and teeth decay) LOL, you feel 30 is good....brrrrrr

Irene - that is fantastic your health care is free - wow.

Bev Anne - wow, detached retina is so serious and so many people loose vision permanently. It is great your optometrist was on top of things and you didn't delay

Dot - hope you don't have any ice chipping today

Karen - saw on world news that Cincinnati was 47

Mel - hope everything is ok up north

Waving to all emoticon

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

One day I won't be able to do this, but today is not that day

emoticon Good morning everyone! So many nice posts to come in to and read. Yesterday seemed extra busy for me and I was so tired last night, I did a bit of sparking but then couldn't keep my eyes open so off to bed I went and slept soundly till 6 this morning. I think 6 am is getting to be my regular morning wake up and I like that!

Carol, thanks for the Beck tip, I really do enjoy them and they hit the spot! How did your dental appt go yesterday? I dislike the thought of dentists. I'd be glued to the TV too if I could stay home. Got a doctor appt right after lunch!

Lynda, I wish the same for Nola also. Those fires are terrible. And are you still getting snow?

Dorothy, the conservatory trip sounds great to me! And you enjoyed your meal when you went to the Olde School Restaurant recently? My son's wife makes Christmas aprons and they are so cheerful - you'll sell plenty of your crafts, I'm sure. I just saw your second post that you didn't sleep well so didn't go for that walk. Maybe today?

Karen, oh shoot - when you mentioned potatoes it reminded me that I didn't pick up any when grocery shopping yesterday! I love potato soup, bet yours hit the spot!

Bev Anne, I'm so sorry about your eye! That sounds like a frightening experience and I'm so glad it was caught in time. Our sight is so important and even though you have to miss being in the choir, you'll be helpful in other ways. Just take good care of yourself, I know that you do as the doctor tells you. Go slowly and carefully with everything you do. It's really good to see you, I miss you and thought maybe you just didn't feel like posting. I'm happy you came out of this okay and with your eye sight intact.

Irene, we are so alike in that we tend to ignore things at first. But it really is best to get everything tended to as soon as they happen. I've learned a lesson from Bev Anne! I'm catching up to you in age and I truly believe you're only as old as you feel. We elder seniors do great and you especially!

Hello to everyone and we have new members that we haven't met yet so when they do feel comfortable enough to pop in here, we'll get to know them.

We are going up to 30 today, as long as the sun comes out, it will be a wonderful day! Enjoy your Wednesday, whatever your plans!

Oh Bev Anne that was quite an experience re your eye . Itís good you went to have It checked right away, I tend to ignore things at first. Not good
I had blood taken yesterday morning ,thatís for kidney check. Did grocery shopping afterwards. Home for lunch ,then had an hour in bed as still felt unwell.
Had to get up as chiropodist here in afternoon, nails done, feet checked and massaged a couple of things noted A crack in my heel is very painful. She put cream on it and suggested I buy Heel Balm . I ordered some from Amazon I think Amazon is one of my most used Apps
Waiting in today for deliveries .
Tomorrow early its heart scan. I canít grumble at my medical care. They are keeping me alive. Not giving me up even though I am 87. I keep trying, so they help me . All free !
Enjoy your day . itís pouring down here again some roads are closed .

Hi Everyone, I'm back!

On Thursday October 24 I woke up with a bit of cloudy vision in my left eye which seemed to get worse as the day went on -- I went to the Optometrist in the late afternoon and she immediately made an appointment with an Ophthalmologist at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary for early the next morning. As soon as the doctor saw me he told me I had a detached retina and I was scheduled for emergency surgery that same morning. Then I had to have a follow-up procedure the next morning. The first few days after the surgery I had to lie on my back but I was allowed to watch TV which was some consolation. However, I was banned from reading, the computer and bending over. I also had to avoid getting tap water near my eye for the next couple of weeks. I spent most of the last 3 weeks in my lazy boy chair watching all the movies I had recorded. Finally, today I at my followup appointment I was given the go ahead to use the computer, read and take showers without holding a towel over my left eye. I am back to almost normal activity except for bending over.

Of course, I had to drop out of the Windmill Theatre review because I had to miss so many rehearsals and although everything is going well I won't be able to see properly out of that eye for a few months or so. I will still be helping out at some of the performances but won't be able to perform myself.

I have managed to catch up on all your goings on and I am glad to be back.

Bev Anne

Didn't make it to the fabric store today but did spend 1 1/2 hours chipping ice off the driveway emoticon . A good workout for sure.
At 3:30 a.m. couldn't sleep and by 4:30 got out of bed and worked on a craft while most people were still snoozing. Maybe I'll sleep like a log after all that ice chipping. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It was 16 degrees this morning. The only part of my body going out today will be my arm as I reach for my mail & daily paper. I imagine the snow will stay until next week when it warms up.

I do not plan on watching any of the impeachment hearings. I will just be glad when they are over with.

I am thinking I will make some potato soup. I have milk that I need to use up & potatoes, too.

Enjoy your day!

Hello Everyone,
Had a wonderful bus trip yesterday. Although it was cold, at least it wasn't snowing like Monday. We got hit with a preview of what's to come this Winter for sure.

On the trip, we had a lovely lunch then went off to the Butterfly Conservatory. I had a couple of Butterfly critters hitch-hiking on my royal blue sweater so I took them for a couple of laps around the Conservatory, gently let them crawl on my finger and placed them on some blooming plants and the Butterfly Police captured the ones I couldn't reach. They were just beautiful.

Going to venture out in the cold this afternoon for a walk to the fabric store. I want to make a Christmas apron to wear for the sale at the Christmas Marketplace that I'm a vendor at on Nov. 28/29th. I'm hoping to sell lots of stuff to make way for more crafts for next year.

Do hope you all enjoy this day no matter what the weather.

Morning ladies,

Just couldn't stay in bed, I have been up since 5:15am. Our stretch and flex class was cancelled today, so I will walk the neighborhood so I get in my steps for my Fitbit Challenges.

This afternoon I have a Dentist appointment to fix a cavity under a crown - ugh, so not good emoticon

The impeachment hearings are starting this morning and Bill will be glued to it the entire day (now that will drive me crazy).

Lynda - I also hope Nola is safe

Gloria - enjoy another very busy day. .LOL just made my knitting group on time, thankfully I didn't run into much traffic

Irene - glad your migraine is gone, hope the foot dr. helps

Mel - hope you found your way around windows. It is a big change from Apple. So nice that DH and you SIL can meet

Karen - LOL, loved "carpet cops" My to my GD's dismay, her school was open yesterday

Waving to all - enjoy your hump day emoticon

Beck: Wednesday Sabotage:

Itís not really that important to go to bed on time.

Response: It really is that important. Staying up too late makes me overeat both at night and the next day.

Besides, on the days I do go to bed, I feel so much better the next day Ė rested and alert. Iíll be so happy tomorrow morning I made myself get in bed.

emoticon Good morning, just popped in for a quick Hello to everyone.

Irene, something in the crock pot is great in this cold weather and you can smell it cooking all day, I love it! Take good care of yourself.

I was up at 4 again so tomorrow will be a big rest day for me! Have a wonderful Wednesday, try to get in some type of exercise and stay with the healthy food. It pays to look after your body.

Good morning on Wednesday. The headache I woke with yesterday turned out to be a slight migraine. It affected one side of my face and sight. Not so much pain. But I get them very infrequently now.
I had an easy day. I did make s chicken casserole early in the crock pot and left it on all day it was very tasty. I didnít do much else
It was my one free day this week. So well timed ?
This morning I must go for bloods to be taken. Then this afternoon its chiropodist time.
Look after yourselves my friends.

Good evening, I've had my supper and am just going to do dishes, get in my pj's and watch a bit of TV then go to bed before 10 tonight, feeling very tired.

Bev, I'm happy you're on your computer and hope this means we'll see more of you now. I hope you soon get that bed all fixed up so you can sleep in it.

Carol, did you make it in time for your knitting group session?

Karen, we did get several inches of snow here but not as much as predicted. I like to stay in when it get this cold and snowy, my thoughts wander to baking!

Mel, you're not making the trip with DH? It is awesome that he and his twin sister will be together for a while, they must have great memories of growing up together that they can share. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get too cold for him in Minnesota.

I probably won't be back on here till tomorrow night. My son's wife is picking me up at 8 in the morning, she is going to strip my bed and take it all home to wash - much easier for her to do it, quilt and all. I'll go with her and we'll have a coffee and visit then my niece Mame will come there at 10 to take me to do my running around and grocery shopping, then back to pick up my bedding and home again. My niece will help me make up the bed because I'll be so tired by then - I so appreciate all their help. Mame came for the afternoon today and we did some Fall cleaning, wasn't much to do, we sat and gabbed most of the time, lol.

So, goodnight to you all, those posting and also those just reading. Have a pleasant evening. See you tomorrow.

Quick hello to all. I am borrowing my husband's computer and trying to find my way around on it. It is an older Dell and I have always used Apples. Mine is all but useless now and no chance to go over the hill to look for a new one for awhile.

DH will be leaving Thursday for a five day visit with his twin sister in Minnesota. Very cold there and expecting a cold front or some such just before he arrives. Anyway I am so happy for him that he can go see his twin as they are 87 now and you never know how much time you have left to connect with your loved ones, especially at this age. Obviously. Don't have to explain that to seniors, even if we are Healthy and Happy Seniors!

Peace and Love, Mel

BEV.. We are happy you have your computer back, too!

Gloria.. & Lynda...It is winter in OHio. We got several inches of snow & more coming. The snow is pretty to look at! It is suppose to reach 24 today. Schools are closed. I worry about those that have to drive on slick road, especially my granddaughter who took a factory job about 20 miles from town.

I cancelled my massage appointment & am thankful I can pay my utility bill on line. It is worth the dollar fee to not have to go out today.

IRENE...Dreams are so mysterious. Some I do not want to wake up from.

Carol... Hope you made it to your appointment without being stopped by the carpet cops.

Carol - I am still here and doing quite well. One day ata time and my right leg is doing fine. Went to dentist, my son took me, and he had to pull the tooth. NO PAIN. yea,,,, Now I have to make an apt to have my teeth all checked out and have another partial made as I lost mine sometime in January 2019. Going slowly and fear falling again.

Irene: Dreams can be hard for us to understand. I cannot get in my new bed because the darn bed is too high and I fell out of it twice. My son's friend is supposed to bring over some plywood and I am going to take out my box spring and I need the plywood to put in place to support the mattress. Then maybe I can get back into my bed. In the meantime I am sleeping on my lift chair. I put it all the way back and when I do that I immediatlly fall asleep.

Well, off to my chair now. Waving to everyone I missed..... emoticon

emoticon Good morning, we are at 12 degree, going to climb up to 21 today! I've got my niece coming this afternoon so I'll do my daily chores this morning. I just had my coffee, couldn't wait, lol. A second cup is in the making.

Lynda, you have it very cold there and it is too soon for that. Keep warm, watch out for those bears, they must be confused as to whether to hibernate yet or not but one thing's for sure - they'll be on the lookout for a good meal! Don't be it!

Irene, we do get some weird dreams at time, like nightmares! Lately, I've been dreaming of my deceased sisters, they were happy and we all sat around a table gabbing - just like we did when they were here. Makes me feel good. Wow, your grandson's wedding already? You'll look spiffy! I go to your face book site often, just to look at the things that are made, I love them Irene, everything is done with love and that's great!

Hello to the team, those posting and those just reading. You're a good group!

Hello on Tuesday I was glad to wake at 4 30 am. I was having an awful dream. Recently I do have similar dreams I am always wandering round in a dreadful place. No one understands me. Last night I kept asking the way to Liverpool. I did live near there as a child. i have no wish to go back there or to my childhood , which was not good.
I woke with a head ache after that .
No plans for today but things happen anyway. Itís a busy week ahead then my grandsons wedding on Saturday.
That heart tests must have been so tiring Glory . I am going for a heart scan on Friday. Chemo damaged a valve of my heart. Itís a vicious drug but is keeping me alive.
Thank you for kind words re my blankets. I think I have the next design set now. I will show you later. I also make activity mats. Knitted squares that fit on a tray or table the fidget items adding. I have one on the go now for evening watching tv and knitting itís using uo oddments of Wool in varied stripes. . My relaxing knitting .
Have a good day. Irene

Good afternoon ladies! I set my alarm clock for 4:15 am and was up and at 'em that early! At the hospital at 7 am, had my Cardiac Perfusion Exam and home by 1 pm! Whew, that's a long test with IV, heart pictures taken twice, heart stressed, etc. I think it went well, I just had a bit of Angina when doing it but it wasn't bad at all. Came home and made a p'butter & jelly sandwich, of all things, lol. We did not eat when in hospital, they gave me ginger ale then I had orange juice later. And ... I just now finished my 'morning' coffee, could not have caffeine before this test. Wow, what a long, tiring one but it's all done, now just wait for results which should be next week.

Carol, how wonderful that your nephew and his family is hosting the Thanksgiving dinner! We're minus 2 C here, I forget what that is in F. Wow, they do keep a check on those who use Opioids but I guess it is necessary. What is the new WW plan about?

Karen, I think my test went well, sure hope so. I've had my morning coffee just a while ago and may have another when I catch up on SP and face book and emails, I found it a bit hard not having it this morning! Are you going to freeze that Pizza Casserole in serving sizes, will it keep long?

Lynda, we're not as cold as you yet but getting there and quickly! Seems like one day it was fall, next day it's winter!

Irene, at 11 am today at the hospital, they announced on the loudspeaker that we were having a two minute silence and the entire hospital went quiet! I'm glad to see the respect. You're making beautiful blankets, show us pictures when you do each one?

Dorothy, it's snowing steadily here but I don't think we're getting as much as predicted. Good thing you got your outdoor work all done. Enjoy your lunch at the Olde School Restaurant, I've had many good meals in there in the past!

I'm going to do a bit more on SP, then go to face book, and also answer my emails! I feel relieved to have another test over with and will relax for the rest of today. Enjoy what is left of your Monday.

Irene.....I am like you in finding many errors in my post if I do not do spell check. It happens.

Gloria...Hope your test is going good & you can get a cup of coffee in.

Carol...We are under a winter storm warning until tomorrow morning. Expecting at least 3 inches of snow. I'm glad I got groceries yesterday & can stay in.

Roz... You do a good job of getting exercise in. Keep it up.

The PIZZA CASSEROLE I made last week is so rich I cannot eat much at one time. I guess I will have to freeze it for another day or two.

I am glad the veterans are getting the recognition they deserve!

Waving to all.

Morning ladies,

We just got an invite from my nephew that he and family are hosting Thanksgiving dinner. Bless them, that is a lot of work even with us bringing food items. They both are employed outside the home he=lawyer, she=special ed. teacher and they have 4yr old Maya and LOL pancake the dog.

With Thanksgiving a week later, the Xmas crunch will really be on, in fact the huge 70 ft trees have arrived at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and Fashion Island in Newport Beach. These are the 2 major malls in our area. I do love those lighted trees. The FM radio station has started playing Christmas songs 24/7, nice but do think that is to soon.

Well back to today. This morning I have WW meeting and they are rolling out a new program. Our meeting is going to have the Pres and Vice Pres of WW there so everyone will show up bright eye and bushy tail.

This afternoon, have a check up apt. with my Pain Medicine Dr. They run a tight ship as they should, if you are taking Opioids in any shape or form, high or low dose you must go in monthly or you won't get a refill. They also check your urine quarterly to make sure you are taking the prescription and not selling it and you are taking many types of Opioids

I will walk the hood, temperature will be 72

Lynda - ok, I was going to whine about 72 but nope, not going to happen, goodness you are cold

Irene - enjoy your cleaner and have fun with the new blanket which is very nice

Dot - how do you get in your water when on a trip?

Gloria - enjoy this zipping and zooming day

Karen - how is the weather in Ohio, TV showed cooler than Kelly said they had, in fact she is up and down (suburb of Cinci)

Roz - how is the swimming going?

Bev - how are you doing?

Waving to all, have a great Monday emoticon

Beck: Monday Motivation:

It may not be realistic to lose weight between now and January 1st (although it may be!) but that doesnít mean gaining is inevitable.

It might be helpful to set more of a maintenance goal for the time being Ė so you can feel good about staying the same weight instead of frustrated for not going down.

But regardless of your goal, make sure to keep getting on the scale consistently!

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

Hi Ladies. Been pretty busy this last week. Managed to get all the outside work done and good job too as we are getting snow tomorrow. Still painting the last of the 2 chairs and table that sits on the balcony outside my living room. Wanted to have it all done so when I take it out of the shed next spring it will be nice and fresh looking.

Sleeping well lately but still having trouble with the water intake. Will keep plugging along anyway.

Tuesday I will be in your neck of the woods Gloria. Have a trip going out to the Olde School Restaurant for lunch in Brantford and on to the Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge in the afternoon. Since our snow here is hitting tomorrow, hopefully Tuesday will be ok.

Irene, that's a lovely blanket. You do really nice work.

Take care everyone and even though I haven't been around much last week, I do think of all of you and wish you well.

emoticon Good morning. I got up at 6:30 and had a coffee before 7 am. My test tomorrow begins at 7:30 am and I'm not to have caffeine for 24 hours before that so I got in one coffee now, lol. Whew, could not go today without it. I will be leaving here tomorrow about 6:45 am and won't be on computer till afternoon when I get back. Just letting you know.

Carol, I'm glad you got through your test okay. And also pleased to hear you slept 8 hours, way to go! No, I never let my canary out of her cage, I wouldn't be able to catch her if I did and she could hurt herself flying around apt.

Karen, thanks for the info on freezing cooked ground meat. Your casseroles and meals always sound so tempting to me, they make me hungry, lol. It's great that your great-granddaughter can see beyond the money, it's how people treat them that is important, not what they give them.

Irene, I hear you about Remembrance Day tomorrow. I will be in hospital then and hope I will be able to stop for one minute at 11 am, to stay silent and remember. My brother was in the armed forces and he told me many tales that gave him nightmares the rest of his life. He was wounded in battle, came home with bad memories of his mates being killed beside him. I shudder to think of it. I love your blanket, you're very creative! And tell Mike I can smell his awesome bread way over the pond in Canada!

Lynda, it is milder here today also, 37 degrees. Your shoveling has begun, I hope you don't get as much snow as last winter. Take it easy when heaving it.

I'm going to make something to eat, will be back later on. Have a very nice Sunday, ladies.

My daughter took me lunch today. We went to Captain D for fish. I brought my salad home for later & sent 2 pieces of my fish home for my grandson to eat. It was nice to get to visit with my daughter.

My great granddaughter is 13 & in the 8th grade. I am sure my daughter will be happy & surprised.Great granddaughter has another GMA that spends lots of money on her & I would have thought she might be the one honored. Guess g-granddaughter sees beyond the money.

I have froze cooked ground beef many times. I like to buy big packages & divide it up. It is handy to have some already cooked for soup & casseroles. This time I made a pizza casserole & it is really good. I prefer meat mixed with other things.

Yes, it is suppose to get really cold next week. I will be getting less massages! I try to stay in unless I have someone pick me up & I can walk a few steps to a nice warm car.

Morning ladies,

Slow start this morning - yea, slept 8 hrs, haven't done that in awhile and was pleasantly surprised. My test is done, and I did it, drinking all that water an hour before and not being able to use the bathroom was tough, especially when she is pressing on the bladder. But emoticon for sure

Today, it is 83 outside, Bill and I will walk at Mile Square Park to enjoy the nature trails. Wonder if the psycho squirrels are out??

LOL, I keep throwing and piling papers on the end of the kitchen table and now the pile is taking over the kitchen. I am sure while I am sleeping, the papers party and multiply. emoticon

Gloria - do you let the bird out of her cage to fly around?

Lynda - eek snow, I know you live really, really north but still emoticon

Roz - yike to wake up at 10:00pm and be up most of the night - hope you can relax today

Bev - can you put on those compression hose yourself or does a nurse come and help? Love your turkey soup, oh can you reach the top of your stove or can you stand?

Karen - now that is really nice that she chose your DD. Saw on World News that you are in for a frigid blast and by Tuesday it is supposed to be 10 degrees

Waving to lurkers and regulars emoticon

emoticon Good morning ladies, great to see you here.

Lynda, when we're early birds, we go to bed in the dark & get up in the dark! Glad you like your new phone and did you have a restful Friday with no Ubering? Does your son get to have time in these places that he flies to? I'd want to pick up some souvenirs everywhere!

Bev, that ready turkey meal sounds wonderful! I'd love it, would love turkey in my fridge to pick at, make sandwiches with, etc. Glad your dental appt went so well & yes, tooth must come out when it gets that bad! Nola hasn't been on our chat thread in a long time but I do see her sometimes on the games one, it's always so nice to see her.

Carol, my sister has to wait till doctor gets her appt with specialists in hospital in another city. She'd go right now if she could! I think they'll probably keep her to do tests but they better let her go back to her own home after and not send her to a nursing home!! I've had that ultra sound done before and it sure is hard to keep all that water in you for so long!

Karen, how lovely of your great-granddaughter to honour your daughter like that! She's very thoughtful - how old is she? Can a person cook up hamburg and freeze it in zip loc bags for future use??

Roz, falling asleep on the couch for so long is the pits! I do hope you can get in at least a couple hours of sleep in your bed!

I have a few extra chores to do today, biggest one is to wash everything in bird's cage. I do that slowly so she doesn't get all upset with my hand going in and out of her cage! Just in the 30's today but I'm in for the weekend. Next week will be a busy week for me.

Enjoy your weekend, ladies.

GLORIA...have you heard from NOLA?I would like to connect with her if possible.

CAROL...glad you were not affected by the shutting of the power.

As for the Turkey dinner my son invited his friends and takes all the leftover turkey home with him. He leaves me some for turkey enchiladas and such. I keep the carcass for bone marrow , and I boil it with celery leaves and onions for stock.

QUEST CAme to my house and took 4 vials of blood. I am fine but a tad low with iron.
I am fine. Watching my Hallmark movies. Most of them are filmed in CANADA

I still do my exercises and dealing with compression socks. UGH

Hope everyone is OK.

I don't expect to go out today. I cooked ground beef last night so will use it in a recipe later.

My great granddaughter has a school project of making a book in honor of someone special. She has chosen my daughter (her gma) & asked me to share pictures & write a letter to my daughter. I am going to look for pictures this afternoon. My daughter will be so happy to be chosen as SOMEONE SPECIAL.

BEVIE... Happy to see you post. I was thinking of you a few nights ago. Glad you got that tooth out! That is a great way to have a good meal. I remember getting a similar meal years ago with Rolland. I think we got it from Bob Evans & it was for Christmas Eve.

Morning ladies,

This morning I have stretch and flex and it will be hard to work the resistance bands since I got a shot in my left hand, not sure I will go, probably will walk the hood this morning for my exercise.

This afternoon - ugh, I need an ultra sound on my bladder and the problem is you need to drink 34 ozs of water 1 hour before, go to the medical center and wait for my test to be done without relieving myself - that will be difficult emoticon

Our weather today will be 82, early this morning, around LA they had a cluster of small earthquakes, thankfully they were small, I didn't feel them here in the OC. (orange county)

Bev - glad you don't have any more mouth pain. Your turkey plan is wonderful, do you have anyone over to share the meal? We weren't affected by the power outages or fires emoticon

Lynda - what an experience your son has, all over the world. What airlines?

Gloria - stay warm, smart to walk inside right now. Wow, your sister has an infection and pain, gee she should go today and not wait before the infection goes through her entire body.
Bill Rh- is rare.

Karen - I remember the cookbooks Fit It and Forget It. Most of the recipes I tried were very good, glad you enjoyed the apple sauce.

Waving to all, TGIF emoticon
