Nancy, the worst part of those hearings is that everyone on that committee is so convinced that they will impeach that the congressional committee (or whoever they are) have done up their calendar for 2020 but have left the whole month of January open. They expect the impeachment hearing to take at least that long! At least that is what I heard on the news last night.... Oh, I hope it is not true....

I just got an email saying the KA has shipped the new part already. Talk about quick!

Patience (that is her name) had taken Thanksgiving day off and was making dinner, As she was taking the turkey out of the oven, her littlest one (can't remember exactly how old but under a year) was scooting into the kitchen to see what mama was doing. Not wanting the baby to get burned or hurt, she jerked the pan away, ended up spilling the grease all over the floor, on herself.... Then she slipped on the grease and landed on the floor wedged between the oven door and the wall hitting her knee on oven door on the way down. Luckily the baby was not hurt. She took the rest of the week off, then came back the following week but had an MRI scheduled on the Friday so took that day off, and has not been back to work since. When she was here I kept telling her that she needed to see her doctor because she was in so much pain. So she has been off since the middle of October and won't be back at least until the end of January. I know the company cannot say anything, but sometimes they can tell if a person is back to work or about to be. I told them I just wanted to know so I could make sure I got her put on my schedule when she does come back... The co-ordinator said she understood and that's why she told me Patience would be out until end of January and I should call back middle to later in January with my request.

Starr, sure hope your daughter heals quickly from her surgery.

Often there is a link besides someone's picture that will say "my spark page" But there is nothing there next to your name and I can't figure out how to get to your spark page. Is your page set to private? Or is it offline?

I used to be able to do a search for people's pages, but can't remember how to do that anymore, or maybe with all the changes Spark has made recently, that is one of the things they changed.

Have a great evening....

Hay there ladies, just a short post to let the two of you know that I'm OK.

My eldest DD same day surgery on her wrist yesterday. Was at the hospital with her for 10 hours, then bought dinner and took it to her home so that all of could eat a warm meal before bed. She's in quite a bit of pain today, even with the pain medication that was prescribed for her. This makes the 2nd surgery that she has had on that wrist this year.

Nancy, look at my spark page and you will see a picture of me and my sweet husband (about 4 years before he passed away).

Linda, I can associate with your "dealings" with the home health care people. My husband had home health care for close to 10 years before he passed away. All of that mess can be quite perplexing. For us, it was a never ending battle with the home health care company. Out of all the many aides that he had, we liked only 3 of them. The 1st one left the medical field, the second got prostate cancer and passed away soon after he was diagnosed and the 3rd one was here with us (for about a year) till my Alan passed away.

Hugs to you both,
Starr

Grrrrrrrr... ANOTHER day of those #@$%!&* Hearings!  I don't think they lasted the entire time of our show (and you confirmed that, Linda)... but when I saw they were on, I got busy doing something else.  I did turn it back on just as the show was ending.... so I don't know if I missed much or not.

Linda... That's good that Kitchen Aid is going to replace the "food pusher".    Hope it works out the way it should.  (Kitchen Aid has a very good reputation.)
I'm sure it is policy to NOT tell about the health condition of sick Home Care personnel (or sick employees of ANY  business!).  Sounds like your evening care person must have been hurt herself pretty badly if she's out till January. How did she injure herself?

Clyde sure does have "the run of the prison", doesn't he!
At one point, several years ago, Clyde ALMOST became "likable"... but now he's just mean and disgusting!

That storyline about Chad, Eli, Kristen, JJ, and shares of the business... Just TOO confusing for my pea brain!

While you are taking pictures of the KA attachment... take a "selfie".  I would LOVE to have a face to connect to your name!  (You too, Starr!)

I talked to Kitchen Aid today and they are going to send me a new food pusher. It will come in 2 packages as each part of the pusher has it's own part number. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Called home care this afternoon to see about when my regular morning person is on Vacation. I asked if a specific lady could cover and they said she should be able to. So hopefully that is all set.

My evening person hurt herself on Thanksgiving (Ours, not yours) and she did come back to work for a few days, but was in so much paid, her doc sent her for an MRI. I have not seen her since, so I asked how she was doing and was told that they don't know (they wouldn't tell me even if they did know) But did say she is on sick leave until the end of January. So I will have to call back about the middle of January to make she sure is put back on my schedule. This company will "give away" all the clients if someone is off for more than a month, be it due to injury, illness or even vacation. A lot of their workers come from Africa or other places so when they go "home" for a visit, they usually take 3 or 4 weeks..... If they take any longer, they have to start from scratch. That's what happened with my previous morning person, she injured herself and was off for 6 months. By the time she came back I had this current lady and she is so good I don't want to lose her, so I use the first one as a weekend person..... lol
Confused? That's ok, I get confused by all this sometimes....

Hearings were on again today for a short time. Days was pre-empted on the one channel, but by the time the afternoon rolled around, the hearing broadcast was over so I got to see the show after all.....

Moved some boxes today, trying to get more stuff put away. bending sure hurts my back so can't do too much else tonight....

Ben was upset about Clyde kidnapping Mickey and he told Will and now Clyde is worried that Will will tell. Will said he wouldn't tell, but Clyde does not believe him. Then Ben came back into the cell just as Clyde was going to stab Will and Ben stopped him. At the end of the show, Ben told Will that when Clyde got out of the hole, he would be coming for both of them because Ben told the guard that Clyde was going to "shiv" Will......

So now Eli is off to Rome. Chad should have had the pilot file the flight plan to Paris THEN go on to Rome, but Eli found out that it was direct to Rome. He also found out that it was Kristen that was giving her shares away, so they figure Chad is going to Rome to get Kristen's shares. JJ heard Eli and Gabi talking so now he knows where Kristen is and he's hot to get there himself. I wonder if he'll stow aboard the jet? I bet Eli will have the jet take off early before Chad even gets to the airport. Will he then take a commercial flight, or get Sami to intercept Eli? or something...

Well I'm off to take care of business. I need to figure out how to take a picture of this KA attachment for my niece-in-law (the one in Medicine Hat) so she can decide if she wants it or not. If not, I'll have to send it back, but if she wants it, they are coming to Edmonton the weekend after Christmas so I can save it for then.

Have a great evening....

Wow!  You gals have been CHATTY!  (I love it!)

Linda...  You had a busy day... going to Safeway then to church for the dinner.  It's nice that you got to visit with people you had not seen in a while.  And you got a turkey carcass!  That's great (I wish I could have sent you mine!  LOL)
Sorry that you were in such pain the next day.  Was it because you "over did"?
When I replaced my computer a couple of years ago, I get a Lenovo "All in one" desk top (I prefer that to a laptop).  Everything except the keyboard is in the monitor (no "tower").  Takes up WAY less space... and although I had never heard of that brand, the salesman said it was very good (of COURSE he would!  LOL)  I'm very happy with it.  In the two years I've had it I've never had any problem with it.
My ancient food processor (I think it's nearly 40 years old!) has a meat grinder.  I don't use it often, but I DO use it.  (I use some veal in my meatballs, and it's difficult to find ground veal around here... so I get just pieces of veal and grind it myself.)
For sure, if you can get even an older TV, it's better than buying a new one.  And you can "save up" for a new one eventually.

Speaking of Days... Exactly WHY does Clyde hate Will so much???

Starr....  Ahhh... I totally get it about all the laughing and noise giving you a headache after your dinner at your daughter's.    Fun is fun... until it gets just too much!
I don't mind grocery shopping too much.  I like picking out my own produce and meat.  Years ago Ted WOULD NOT go shopping with me... but now that he is long retired... it has become a weekly EVENT!  "Which store do we go to THIS week?"  That's usually our "fun" thing for the week!  And he actually HELPS!  LOL
I don't have Amazon Prime (don't want to pay the monthly fee!)  but I have a Target account, and shipping is always free (have to use their card for that).  And if shipping at other sites is "reasonable" (around $5), sometimes I'll do that.  (Saves that much in GAS!)
Thanks for the recipe for Sunshine Salad.  I'm not wild about anything with marshmallows... but I think most people like them.  I'll save it for when I need to bring a salad somewhere!No... I have not heard that about Windows.  But, it might be possible.
Grrrrrrrrr... I hate it when people are "disruptive" during church!  Last Sunday there was a girl (about 16) sitting in front of us.  Pretty girl with long blond hair.  But the entire service she "flipped" her hair... then would twist it up into a bun... then take it down and flip her hair.  I wanted to grab her hair and snatch her bald-headed!

I won't get to watch today's show... I'm going to my Book Club (it's a neighborhood organization)... we meet monthly, discuss a given book, and have lunch.  Today is our "Christmas party" lunch.  I'm bringing au gratin potatoes.  (Hope they turn out!)

Oh, my goodness. Your mother's Sunshine salad sounds so yummy...... I have cottage cheese and orange jello, but almost out of cool whip and I don't have any nuts (other than peanuts lol) or marshmallows. But I am going to try this, so starting my next shopping list now...

I had not heard anything about all the windows programs not working, but I heard on the news that Windows 7 will not be supported after Dec 31st. So no new updates and if anyone has problems, they shouldn't even try to contact Microsoft as they will not offer any support in the new year. Windows 10 is supposed to still work and is the only OP that will (all the older ones are outdated), but it is already a couple of years old, so I think they will be bringing out a new version -- if not a whole new operating system -- very soon.....

I really like the Food Processor Attachment for my Kitchen Aid..... Except it is a 2 piece food pusher, It has a small removable chute so I could do a single carrot or stalk of celery, etc, and they won't fall over in the large chute. But I can't get the smaller piece out, so I called The Shopping Channel here in Canada (where I ordered it from) to see if there was something they could do. They said if I returned it, they could replace it but I would have to return the whole thing.... which would be at my expense and I can't afford that. So next I called Kitchen Aid direct and she suggested I soak it in hot water and see if that works. I tried it and so far it hasn't helped so I guess tomorrow I will have to call them back. She did tell me that if it doesn't work, they could send me out just that part. That makes more sense than me sending the whole thing back....

Have a great evening.....

Linda

Good morning ladies.

I hope that both of you had a wonderful & blessed Thanksgiving.

Nancy, the dinner at my DD’s went great. Everyone gobbled up the food, laughed, told stories and had a really good time. Afterwards all of us (except for the kids) played cards. The kids played on my GD’s Wii. During the card games there was so much laughing that I had to quit playing, as the laughing was giving me a headache.

I HATE shopping, of any kind. I order my groceries on Wal-Mart’s website and to go their pick-up line to get my stuff. They even load my car for me. All I have to do is sit there and wait for a short bit. It’s been more than a year since I have been in Wal-Mart. And I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon. I have Amazon Prime, so I don’t have to pay shipping & handling.

Here is the ingredients for and how to make Sunshine Salad. (I don’t know why someone decided to call it “salad”, as it is not a salad at all).
**Sunshine Salad**
2 large containers of cottage cheese
1 regular size container cool whip
1 large package orange Jello
¾ to 1 cup nuts (I use walnut or pecan)
¾ to 1 cup mini-marshmallows
One regular size can of mandarin oranges or crushed pineapple (I use both at different times—just depends on my mood).
One small jar of Maraschino cherries
----directions
Pour cottage cheese, cool whip, Jello powder, nuts marshmallows, fruit & cherries into a large bowl. Mix. Refrigerate till cool. ENJOY!

Good job on getting your tree out and decorations out Nancy. It will probably be the middle of December before I dig my Christmas tree out. When I was younger I put up the tree and all the decorations the day after Thanksgiving. But my physical health & depression keeps that from happening now. Usually, my eldest DD & GD comes over and helps me & youngest DD decorate.

Linda, I am glad that you had such a nice time at the dinner at church, and enjoyed the chatting/visiting. All that leftover turkey that you went home with sounds great. In some ways, I think that turkey is even tastier as leftovers. The program that they had after dinner sounds like it was really nice. My church does not do anything like that, as at best; there are only about 70 people who attend on a regular basis. But of course, there were about 130 people there for the Christmas dinner (lunch). There is always a huge increase of people at church when they are having food. Then the very next weekend it is back to the normal amount of people. It has been that way in every church that I have gone to over the past 42 years. I am sorry Linda that you didn’t feel up to going to your sister’s to help with decorating for Christmas. I am glad that you were able to nap during the day. I know lots of people who can sleep during the day in their recliners. Both my mom & dad did that all the time in their latter years. I’ve had a couple people tell me, when I have not felt well or didn’t sleep well the night before, that I need to take a nap during the day. When I tell them when I get sleepy and go lay down in my bed, I am wide awake. I’ve been told to just lean back in my recliner and go to sleep. I get really strange looks when I tell people that I can’t go to sleep in my chair……does not matter how sleepy I am or how badly that I feel. People that can do that are lucky.

You speaking of your computer, reminds me that someone told me a couple months ago that as of January 1st 2020, any computer that is connected to Windows in any way will be rendered unusable. I do not know if that is true, or even who I would call to find out. Have either of you heard anything like that and/or know how you would find out if it is true?
At church on Sunday there were 2 men in the pew in front of me who talked constantly thru the entire service. The 2 Sundays prior to that, there were 2 other men in the pew behind me who talked the entire time. In the past few months, I have moved 3 times to different parts of the sanctuary to get away from people who think it is acceptable to talk thru a church service. Not only is it very rude & disrespectful, but for people who already have a hard time hearing (me) it is really annoying!! Half why thru the service yesterday, because I was able to hear only a few words here and there, I left. It didn’t even matter that at one point I gave the men the “shush” sign—putting my finger over my lips and saying shush.

That is awesome Linda, that you attachment for your mixer does more then what you thought it did. Nice surprises like that don’t happen all that often. At least, not for me. Linda, I enjoyed reading your post. Actually, I like reading long posts.

You speaking of needing another TV and talking about how long they last. 12 years ago my DH’s & my TV, which we’d had since long before flat-screen’s came out (more than 20 years) quit working. The repairman said that it was the picture tube that needed to be replaced, but that it had been many years ago since picture tubes were made. So, we were forced to buy a new flat screen TV. I was not happy about that. I don’t know what the life expectancy of a flat screen is, but we have had ours for 12 years now.

Adrienne not being dead would not surprise me at all. It is NOT uncommon for folks in Salem to come back from the dead. Even when they have a funeral, such as Will.

Ok gals, that is it for me.

Hugs to you both,
Starr

Happy December.....

I have heard the term Friendsgiving... It's kind of catchy. I hope you had a great day on your Take 2 with your daughter....

I have never heard of Sunshine Salad. I'd also like to know what is in it.

Sis and BIL came about quarter after 3, took me to Safeway and while BIL took the bottles to the water dispenser, I picked up some salad greens, some cottage cheese, and several packages of cheddar and mozzarella. I also looked for something called carbquick but could not find any. I guess I'll have to look online....
I paid for my groceries while BIL took my water out to the car, and then he came back in as I was walking towards the door so he helped me out to the car. Sis stayed in the car and good thing she asked BIL to leave the keys because it was SOOOO cold, about minus 13 Celsius.

We brought my groceries back to my place and I put the cottage cheese in the fridge but didn't worry about anything else as I figured I could do it when I got home.

Then we were off the the church. We were so early, but we had a nice visit while we were waiting. I saw a lot of people I have not seen in awhile so I got to say hi to them. One of the ladies who was working the dinner came to say hi, I have not seen her for months. I asked her if anyone had brought the whole bird and if there would be any carcasses would they be taking them home or thrown away and if not, could I get a couple. Well after dinner they announced that there were carcasses available if anyone wanted one, so both BIL headed to the kitchen and we each got one. I would have liked to take 2 but I don't think I have enough room in my freezer so one is plenty for now.....

Dinner was wonderful. They had cooked 13 birds, and they had scads of mashed potatoes, diced carrots, dressing (stuffing) and gravy so while the church gymnasium was full, there was lots of food and they had tons of leftovers. After dinner, there was a beautiful program. We started off singing some Christmas carols. Then the Primary (young children) sang a couple of numbers including one where they played the hand bells. Was that ever precious! Then there was a piano solo using music that one of the ladies had grown up playing as a child in Germany so quite a few years ago (she's about my age) And there was a short video and then we sang another carol. At the end, the people who where working in the kitchen, brought out all the leftover food, and they had packaged all the turkey in tin foil, and there was also a few huge trays that had mashed potatoes, stuffing carrots, turkey and gravy, but I didn't even ask for any of that, I just went for the turkey, and the person handing the foil packages out, asked me if I'd like 2 and then he gave me 3 packages to bring home. So after I boil I bones, I will have lots of turkey to add to my soups....

I was supposed to go to Sis's this afternoon to help them decorate their Christmas tree. My job is usually to untangle the the "hooks" so everyone else can hang the ornaments. But I was in so much pain today that I phoned and told her I was staying home. I spent the day mostly watching some TV and napping. I do feel a bit better this evening....

Sis's ward is having their Christmas party and Dinner on the 14th so they asked me if I wanted to go and of course I said yes. I don't get out much, but I love turkey dinners (especially when Sis, BIL and I don't have to prepare it, lol) I just hope it's not as cold then....

I am starting to have problems with my computer. It took me over 5 hours tonight to do my Sparking..... I know this thing is getting old, but I guess I better get an external hard drive and soon! Then I have to decide what kind of computer to get (I'm trying to decide if I want another desktop CPU or if I should get a laptop..... I could always sit my my recliner in front of the TV and watch my shows at the same time I Spark, but the CPU is not as easy to move so I would not be able to double duty, lol

I don't remember if I mentioned that I bought a couple of attachments for my KitchenAid stand mixer, The one I really wanted was the dicer attachment and it turns out it is like a mini food processor but the only difference is that all the food falls into a bowl beneath it.... It slices, and does both fine and course shredding, (I did not realize it could do all that) so I am very excited about it..... The other attachment has cones that slice and shred, (no dicer) so I am not sure I will be keeping that one. But it also has a grinder and a fruit and veg strainer. So I am thinking should I keep it because it will strain the seeds and stuff out of the veg, (thinking tomatoes) and would I really use the grinder? So I need to decide quickly because I only have 30 days to decide and it was delivered the day before the exterminators came so I am running out of time....

I thought I might have to buy a new TV but I heard one of the ladies at church had a couple to give away so I was able to contact her and she said she had already given one away but I could have the other. It's not a flat screen so it must be quite old, but if it saves me from having to buy a new one right away, well I'm ok with that. lol

I'm with you Nancy, I don't like going shopping in person on Black Friday either. Last time I went, BIL took me to a grocery/department style store when I bought my last TV which did not last all that long but that's these new flat screens for you. They really don't last anywhere near as long as the old picture tube style TV's.

Before that, it was back in the mid '90's on a Boxing Day sale and they only let a few people in the store at a time so I had to stand outside until it was my turn. Of course, most of the stuff was already gone because those that went in before me were buying 3 and 4 of almost everything..... I really wanted to get a stereo but they were all gone by the time I got in the store so I left empty handed.....

The place I buy my vitamins from online, is having a cyber Monday sale where everything is 10 percent off Monday only. So I have to get onto the site this evening to see if anything I want/need is available. Last time, they were sold out of many of the brands I like. Typical!

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are actually very new in Canada....Our big sales were always Boxing Day. While so many stores are getting on the Black Friday bandwagon, I was looking at many of the flyers and truth be told, there were not very many spectacular sales. I guess it all depends on what a person is in the market for......

Looking forward to this next week. I just hope they finally tell us what Will did to Adrienne that got him put into jail for manslaughter..... I have heard hints that she is not really dead, though.... but time will tell.......

Sorry for the novel. Hope it didn't bore you..... Have a great day tomorrow....

Starr.... How did the dinner go at your daughter's?  I'm sure everything was delightful.  I've never heard of Sunshine Salad.  What all is in it?
What a nice idea.... "Friendsgiving"!  I LIKE that!

For sure... nobody could ever replace Stefano!  But maybe "Patch" will "reinvent" him?   Perhaps that bionic eye has done something to his brain (with Stefano's memories???)  Dr. Rolf probably had a hand in making that eye, and he has done stuff like that in the past (brain chips!)

Maybe Jennifer will remember "Gina" pushing her, and maybe she won't.  Remember last spring (maybe I told you about it)... I had a strange episode of "Transient Amnesia"... and lost about a half a day.  I still don't remember anything that happened in those hours.... and probably won't.   Each case is different, so who knows when or if Jen will remember???
NO WAY.  I'm not at all into Black Friday!  There is NOTHING that I want bad enough to fight crowds to get!  I don't even LIKE to shop at best!  Many of my friends like to shop as RECREATION... or FUN.  To me it's close to torture!  I'd rather have a root canal!  When I must shop, I prefer to go on a week day... in the morning (as early as I can) when the stores aren't so crowded.  I DO like shopping online... but there are certain things I MUST touch and feel.  And of course for shoes and pants, I MUST try them on!

Linda... Did you go to the dinner yesterday?  Which one did you choose?
Once in a while I will boil the turkey bones and make soup... but this year I just didn't want to mess with it.

I almost never go "out" in the evening.  Even when Ted and I go out to dinner, we always get home before dark.  We are definitely "Early Birds"!

We got our tree yesterday (it's outside in water).  And I crawled up in the attic and brought down all the Christmas decorations.  (I USED to be able to do that alone... but now it's a two-person job!)

Hay there ladies.

Well, Thanksgiving is over for another year. I went to my neighbor's "friendsgiving" on Thursday, which turned out very good. Not only were 4 of our neighbor's there, but the hosts brother & SIL too. We had turkey, mashed potato & gravy, broccoli & rice casserole, sunshine salad& rolls. For desert there was pumpkin spice cookies, pumpkin pie, lemon cream pie & banana cream pie.

Then yesterday my family had Thanksiviving dinner. There was a lot more food there then there was at my neighbors. Ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, homemade poppy seed bread, cranberry sauce, tuna casserole, pumpkin pie & pecan pie. After eating, all of us played card games for 2 & 1/2 hours.

Driving home was a bit on the difficult side for me. I don't see all that great at night, and it had been raining. So the roads were very wet and the road lights were shinning off of the pavement. Making it very difficult for me to see. It took me almost twice as long as usual, but I made it home safe & sound.

Today me and both my DD's went to my husband's cemetery (2 & 1/2 hours round trip) to decorate his grave for Christmas. On our way back home, we stopped at a Mexican food restaurant for a late lunch. I had a spinach enchilada, refried beans & Mexican rice. It was yummy. Had not had Mexican food in awhile.

Linda, I am glad that your getting to go to your sisters church Christmas dinner. My church is having their Christmas dinner on the 22nd, which is my sons 37th birthday.

I agree that it is strange seeing Kayla & Justin as a couple. I though it was very rude & not lady like for Hattie to bring in that yummy meal and eat it in front of Eve.

Talking to Sis yesterday. Her ward (church) is having a Christmas dinner on the 14th and she volunteered to cook one of the turkeys. After the bird is cooked, they cut if off the bones and take the cut bird to the church. She gets to keep the bones and she wants to make bone broth and add a bit of cider vinegar to the pot. So we talked about that for awhile, and she said she had read that some people use the bones a second time. I told her that you keep using the bones until they crumble and fall apart, and each time you boil the bones, just add some new ones. Eventually the bones used first will crumble and can't be used any more.... She had not heard that so she learned something new, lol I also told her she should find out who else is cooking turkeys and then ask them if they will be using the bones - and if not, can she have them. She liked that idea......

Anyway, I am hoping I will be able to go to their Christmas Dinner. I was wondering when my ward Dinner will be or if we are even having one, and today I got an email for a lady asking if I needed a ride as it is tomorrow. Talk about timing.!

So I asked Sis if she and BIL wanted to come and when he got off work, she asked him. Yup, they are up for a turkey dinner, lol... Because of my home care aid, I have to cancel their visit if I'm out for the evening, but BIL can take my stocking off so if they take me, all is good. If they couldn't make it, then I would not be able to go....

I have not been able to go to many activities this past year - because most of them are in the evening. So I'm looking forward to tomorrow evening!

Yes, I thought the resemblance of Steve to Stefano was rather striking. I have never seen Joseph in anything else, but I do know he was on the Bold and the Beautiful at one point when he was off canvas at DAYS.... I had read that Steve was coming back as Steve Johnston so I was a little surprised when it turned out he was Stefano.... But not really. I knew someone was going to be revealed and it would not be anyone trying to reprise the role. Those hands and the leaner body we got glimpses of, told us it was not a recast... lol Yep, Good ol' Rolfy was at it again. For awhile, I actually thought Rolf might have done something to himself to turn into Stefano but obviously not the case.

It is strange seeing Justin and Kayla as a couple. I can't wait for the news to come out that Gaby was behind Lani leaving Eli at the alter, AND that all those little glitches with the pacemaker are simply because she has control on her phone and is not careful with that phone....

I hope everyone is well rested today and ready to go at it again this weekend, lol

Have a great evening.

Linda

Hello there Nancy & Linda.

OK, I am glad that yesterday is over—but still have today to get thru. Yesterday was “friendsgiving” at my neighbors and today my family is celebrating. Yesterday at my neighbors there were 7 of us. Today at my eldest DD’s there will be somewhere around 11 of us. Both my neighbor & family have their thanksgiving (lunch) between 11 & 1. Like you said Nancy, it allows you to get everything “taken care of” and the kitchen cleaned up so that you can relax for a bit…instead of going to bed right away after the company is gone & the kitchen is cleaned up. To my DD’s I am baking the ham, fixing a homemade recipe of sweet potato casserole and my mom’s recipe for sunshine salad. I took the sunshine salad to my neighbors yesterday, and everyone raved about how good it was. I don’t think it is all that good, but OK.

I had read somewhere in the past week or so that Steve was coming back as Stefano. So, I wasn’t surprised to see him revealed as Stefano. In my opinion, nobody will ever play Stefano as well as Joseph Mascolo did. Although I am sure that Steve will “give it the good ole college try” (a saying that was one of my dad’s favorite).

Just because Jennifer doesn’t remember Gina shoving her out the window, doesn’t mean that she won’t. I hope that she will, and soon. And I hope that everyone will come down on Gina really hard. I do not like the character of Gina in the past and I still don’t. I can see Gina trying to hurt Abby, but I hope that she isn’t successful….if she tries.

Linda, A case manager is supposed to help you, whether it is by doing something thru their agency or finding people from outside the agency who can help you. That is one of the case workers jobs. I can’t speak for where you live, but that is what the case managers here do. My youngest DD, who is in her early 30s, is mentally challenged. She is not able to live by or take care of herself. So because of her disabilities, she has a case worker with DHS who gets her some of the things that she needs. When I call her asking about something, if she can’t get/do it, she calls people within her office (if she does not already know herself) for an answer. Even if she has to make several calls outside of the scope of DHS, she will do that. It is part of her job. Like Nancy said, you’re fortunate that your country has Thanksgiving earlier in the year. I really dislike that our Thanksgiving & Christmas are less than a month apart. I have spoken with oodles of people thru the years who feel the same way.

Nancy, I understand you being tired and not feeling well and going to bed early. I hate it that you were woken with IBS (or whatever). I am glad that you’re feeling better today Nancy.

To be honest, I don’t like Kristen at all, doesn’t matter what roll she is playing. And you’re right about how she is not being sincere, even though she is trying to act like she is. To me, Kristen is not sexy at all. Personally, I don’t think she is even pretty! I think that the character of Steve has been “old” & boring for quite some time. With him playing Stefano now, I wonder if it going to take some adjusting to act without the eye patch?

Are either of you into Black Friday or Cyber Monday? If I am going to shop on one of those days, it will be Cyber Monday. My life & limb are not worth going out on Black Friday to stores, just to get a few dollars off of products. A lady once told me that a few years ago her daughter wanted a lap top, so she went to the store on Black Friday to buy one that was already on sale, but had 10% taken off of that price for Black Friday. She said that someone stepped on her foot in all the rush and she ended up in the emergency room. No “savings” on a product will make me go to the stores on Black Friday!! Back in the early 80’s when the Cabbage Patch doll was VERY popular, my mom & I were at Wal-Mart on Black Friday (although there was no Black Friday back then) and we just about got trampled. We were not even looking at the Cabbage Patch dolls, just happened to be in the area that they were in. There was, probably, 3 or 4 dozen grown older women pushing, shoving, cussing, pulling hair…trying to get their hands on a stupid Cabbage Patch doll. They caused such a scene that they were on the evening news. When mom & I saw that mess, we just turned around and left. Didn’t even get the things that we had come to the store for.

Well ladies, this is it for me for today. You all take care and have a blessed day.

Hugs, Starr

Good morning Ladies. I could have sworn I responded to your posts yesterday.... but maybe I forgot to hit the "post now" key!
Whew!  Thanksgiving is over.   It was a very nice day... I had 9 people (counting me and Ted)... which was a cozy crowd.  (Others invited had other commitments)  I had enough food for an army... but have very little leftovers (except for turkey... which I'm glad of... I got a 21 pound turkey just so I COULD have plenty of leftovers!)  I sent food home with every one.  My grandson is a 20 year old Marine Reservist... and he CAN EAT!  LOL

I always have my Thanksgiving meal in the middle of the day... so I was able to get everything cleaned up and put away before I went to bed.  But I was SO tired... at 7:30 I told Ted that I didn't feel so good and was going to bed!  In the night, I had a bad attack of IBS (or whatever)... kept me awake for about an hour... but I'm okay this morning.  (I'm sure it was from over eating... of rich food... plus stress)

I rather like Kristen as a nun.  IF she's sincere (which she isn't!)  I like her in a nun's habit and with little makeup.... rather than trying to be sexy (which she isn't!   In MY opinion!)

I was amazed at how much Steve looks like Stefano! At least in the short glimpse we got of him!  I hope he can capture some of Stefano's charm!  I saw a movie once with Joseph Mascolo playing a minor part... and he had NO accent!  Sounded like a "Midwesterner".  It was strange!  Maybe "Steve" CAN make a new "Steffy".  I wonder is anyone in Salem will notice?  Or will they think he IS Stefano?    I'd almost rather him BE Stefano than "Steve".... That character has gotten to be rather boring.  (Again... in MY opinion!)

Linda.... Ted has been involved with our county's Counsel on Aging... and delivers Meals on Wheels.  But recently he has volunteered to help with the branch that does repairs and such for "seniors" who just cannot do for themselves or cannot afford to do them.... such as build wheelchair ramps, do minor repair work, some yard work... etc.  Perhaps there is such a service in your area that can help you move stuff around for the exterminators.  Maybe your "case manager" can get some information as to who could help with that.

So Steve Johnston IS the new Stefano...... In case either of you missed it, he was unveiled today - both the portrait Gina has been painting, and in person..... So whichever one of you suggested it could be Steve, you are correct.

Speculation: How did Rolf get Stefano's memories to implant into Steve? How did Rolf get Steve into his lair to do this transplant? Obviously this is why Steve has not been home earlier after he was cleared of all wrongdoing in the spy debacle.....

"Steve" sent Kayla divorce papers. Was that someone pretending to be Steve (Rolf, maybe?) or is Steve/Stefano aware enough of his dual personalities that he did it himself?

Questions, questions, questions. LOL I guess we have to wait for the answers....

Abby was talking to Jenn and Jack so now Jenn is aware that "Hope" was there just after she fell. Jenn does not remember "Hope" being there so what will happen when she does remember? All the Horton women can be bulldogs, so Abby will get to the bottom if it.... if someone doesn't get to her first. For example, if they say something to Hope then she will know what's going on and can seriously hurt Abby - or try to.....

I had an interview from my new "case manager" today. This is where they come and ask all kinds of questions about me and how I am coping, and if I have any problems taking my meds or going grocery shopping, or preparing my meals, even down to my personal hygene, etc. I told her I found all of this terribly invasive and an invasion of my privacy but she said they need to know these things so if there is any change in my condition, they can look for and offer my suitable services so I can stay in my home as long as possible. But the one thing I told her I do need help with is something they cannot do anything about (- helping me move things away from walls and out of closets to get ready for exterminators) So much for them trying to help me! HA!

I have a Medical directive and Power of Attorney for my sister, if anything should happen to me, she is to make all decisions on my behalf. There is something here called a "green sleeve" which any emergency personnel have to look at if they are called to my home. (It is kept on the fridge so it's easy for EMS to find) Because my sister could be out or unable to answer the phone when (if) such a thing happens, they have to look at the "green sleeve" which tells them if they are to try to resuscitate or whatever until my sister can be reached. She wanted to take a picture so they have it on their files. But this whole day started with them calling my sister to see if she needed to be here for this interview because they have it on file that my power of attorney is active..... My sister told them that I am more than capable of looking after myself. I told this lady today that the power of attorney is only if I become incapacitated.....

Another thing I told her was that I don't like it that anyone can have access to my medical records like a pharmacist who tries to talk to me about my labwork..... That's between me and my doctor and I kind of resent that they can access my medical information but I can't.... I think I liked it better before everything went "online" and I had better control of who had access.....

Aren't I just a ray of sunshine today?

Anyway, I have stuff to do so I better get at it. I hope you ladies have a great evening....

First of all, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to the both of you. emoticon emoticon

Abby told Eli (in reference to Chad's computer) that he should have respect for other people's belongings, especially if they don't belong to him. Duh!! If it belongs to someone else, it is obviously not his.

In the scene where Ben & Clyde were in the room in the prison, Clyde just gets up and walks out of the door-like he owns the place. I doubt that prisoners are allowed to come & go as they please from one room to another.

It almost makes me sick seeing Kristen in a convent---she is a double disgrace to God.

OK, those are my thoughts.

I hope you all will have a great day tomorrow.

Hugs,
Starr

Linda... Thank for the reminder!  Abe and Lexie DID adopt!  I remember now.  That explains why the color of the baby wasn't an issue!

I think that Eric WAY over-reacted!  Barging into the Kirakas home like he did... THEN into Sarah's (and Xander's) bedroom!  It isn't like Mickey is graduating college!  He hasn't miss much of they baby's life... she's only about three or four months old!  GET OVER IT!  I can understand him wanting to see the child immediately... but he COULD have just waited DOWNSTAIRS!
It is amusing that in Salem "seeing" a child, holding it, etc. is SO important (as it should be)... but just think of all the Salem youngsters who get shipped off to boarding school... or are "upstairs with the Nanny" or are "in the kitchen with Cook"!  Many aren't seen for very LONG periods of time!  LOL

I like Nicole with Brady MUCH more than Nicole with Eric... or Brady with Kristen.  Kristen should be with..... maybe ROLF!  LOL
I, too, like Sarah with Xander.  Of course, he HAS turned awfully "good"... but losing Sarah will negate all of THAT!

If Hailey had ANYTHING to do with Kristen's baby dying (even if she was merely the nurse in charge... and the baby's death couldn't be prevented), then Kristen probably DID murder her... and made it LOOK like an accident.

I knew that Days wouldn't be aired on Thursday (I'm glad for MY sake... I'll be having a bunch of people here for the big turkey dinner!)  Actually... Friday I'll probably be busy too... putting away all the Thanksgiving stuff and getting ready to decorate for Christmas.  (Linda... you are lucky that Canada has Thanksgiving a lot earlier than ours!   I wish WE would change too!)

The baby that Abe and Lexi were supposed to adopt was white, so they never noticed that the child they got had been switched with Bo and Hope's baby. The mother of the adopted baby was an alcoholic and the baby had fetal alcohol syndrome. That's why Stefano switched the babies (who conveniently had been born on the same day.... but if memory serves me correctly, Rolf somehow induced labour to make sure they were both born on the same day, so really wasn't "convenience" after all, lol....)

When the baby father came back into the picture, he insisted on raising his child , and he and the baby mother who by then was sober, left town with him....

Abe was willing to give up the baby they had, but at first Lexi was very resistant. She had been raising the child for almost 2 years. Eventually she relented and returned the child to his bio parents (Bo and Hope) who subsequently named him Zack. He had originally be named Issac (after Abe's brother) so it was an easy name for Zack to get used to..... It was several more years before Abe and Lexi had their own child which they called Theo....

I guess Nicole's conscience got the better of her and guilt would not let her accept Eric's proposal unless she confessed. I was kind of surprised at Maggie, telling Eric to leave Sarah and Xander along with the baby and come back in the morning.... I mean, Eric just found out he had a baby daughter who was several months old already.... I wouldn't wait either if it was me.... But did you notice the little smirk on Sarah's face when she was watching Eric holding her?

Kristen's dark side is popping out. She called Gabby a bitch - twice - today.... I don't buy her saintly act. Kristen will be back in Salem before long, doing who knows what to who knows whom..... But I do think she will help expose Gabby and reunite Lani and Abe..... Maybe when she does come back she will expose Rolf and Gina as well. ok, maybe not Rolf because he has been useful to her in the past, but Gina, yes, I think so....

I don't know if Kristen and Brady's baby (who conveniently was a girl ! ! !) was stillborn or died shortly after birth, but from what I gathered during the ... ahem "flashbacks", apparently Brady did get to hold her at one point. He commented on how beautiful she was.... and Nicole was there helping him get over his grief.... I wonder if he and Nicole will get back together -- until Kristen comes back to town, that is. LOL

I just hope that if and when Eric moves on from Nicole, it won't be back to Sarah. I actually now think Xander and Sarah are good together - well as much as Sarah is good with anyone....

I was thinking about that letter that Xander threw into the fireplace and wondering if Ciara was able to rescue even a little part of it.... ...maybe just enough to show that Xander has a secret but not enough to say what the secret is ????

I wonder how Kristen killed Hailey? Several times people have called it an accident, but JJ is so bitter, and insists that it was murder.

I hope the shows schedule is back to normal for awhile. But I heard it won't be aired Thursday or Friday because of Thanksgiving.... But other than that, I hope there are no more hearings or any other disruptions for awhile and we can enjoy our show....

Have a great evening....

Why did stupid Nichole turn down Eric's wedding proposal? She, I guess, doesn't care what she's missing. That's OK, Eric is too good for her anyway. Maybe he will find someone else soon.

I wondered (at the time) why Bo & Hope didn't notice that their baby was BLACK!  But... I suppose since Lexie was Stefano's daughter, she was half white, so the baby COULD have been white looking.

It's amazing that so many IMPORTANT things can be switched in Salem!!!  (DNA results, babies, dead bodies!)

I missed it... WHAT is in that envelope that Xander gave to Hope, who gave it to Sarah, who gave it back to Xander, who threw it in the fire, which Ciera is trying to recover!  ???  (And Salem is the only place where people get something in an envelope and wait and wait and wait to open it!  Me?  I tear into things immediately!

It cracked me up yesterday when Chad went in to the apartment (or hotel room... whatever) to meet Stefano... and Rolf was there!  But at least he didn't pretend to be Stefano!  (THAT's a relief.  For now anyway.)

I remember Bo and Hopes son Zack had been switched with a baby that Ab and Lexi were raising, and the baby that Abe and Lexi should have had, was given to Bo and Hope. Stephano did not want Lexi to have a child with fetal alcohol syndrom which is why he arranged the switch.

I can't recall any other baby switches at the moment.

I remember that look that Jordan gave Rafe. She was so protective of that child.

When Jenn woke up from her coma, they did mention that it was November (8th?) 2020. But you're right, they could just go on forever and never mention the year again and soon everyone would forget about the time jump...

.... and the way characters come and go, I'm sure some of those missing will come back eventually....

Have a great day!

That would be interesting if yet ANOTHER baby got switched (Sarah's and Kristen's).  But... that might be true..... IF Nicole does tell Eric that he's the father of Sarah's baby... and then wants as DNA test!  Obviously it would say he is NOT the father!  Then, Sarah would know SOMETHING was wrong!!  (There have been other "baby switches" on Days, but I can't remember who's that was)  I guess I was under the impression that Kristen had a miscarriage.... They said she "lost the baby", but i suppose she could have "lost" it AFTER it was born (thus the switch).

I think the Time Jump just might STAY as "real time".  They never actually say anything about what year it is... and it's a known fact that children "age" dramatically from time to time.  Age doesn't seem to matter when couples get together either!  Time never seems to matter with comas, pregnancies, jail terms, recovery after operations or gun shots... so the Time Jump could very easily just go on as "real time".  I've heard that the Jump was a way to wrap up some storylines and eliminate various characters... but they never have had a problem with that either..... ANYONE can suddenly "leave town"... or be upstairs baking donuts!  LOL
Perhaps Jordan's "Baby Daddy" killed her!  (I hate that term!).  I has never even been mentioned WHO the father was.  (Once, right before the baby's birthday, Rafe sarcastically said "We could invite the baby's Father"... and Jordan gave him a very dirty look.)

I bet they keep the time jump for a year, then next November after a year has passed so it will be 2021, they will time jump back a year to make it current time...... confusion or what!

The only think I don't like about the time jump is how long it is taking to "explain" everything and get us up to speed on all the so-called happenings..... Who killed who, who did what to whom, etc. Otherwise I could deal with it. I like consistency, which means I like to know what is going on with my favourite characters.

Yes, Jack fired Hope but that was before the Princess Gina transformation. After Lani walked out on Eli, he quit as commissioner and went to work for Gabby at Dimera Ent. So I guess Abe (who was interim mayor after Jack stepped down,) hired her back not knowing it was really Gina.... I guess Kristen Alfonso is doing a fairly decent job of switching back an forth between characters, but sometimes I hear Gina when she is supposed to be Hope..... And speaking of Abe, did they hold another election to actually elect him mayor again or is he still "acting Mayor" still waiting for an election.....

Wow, that baby switch idea is something else. That could be what happened, but how would that help Victor? Whatever Xander did, he was doing Victor a favour so why would he want Sarah to have Kristen's baby? Oh, maybe so that he could control how the baby is raised because it's Brady's baby and Victor does not want Kristen to have any influence at all..... That's a very interesting thought......

Nancy, when Clive and Ben were first talking, Clive was sure it was Ben who killed Jordan because she had been strangled (although by hand, not by a necktie) Ben insisted he did not do it and Clive believed him. Other than that, we don't know much more so will have to wait to see how it plays out in current/future time....

Have a great Sunday....

Linda, you’re correct in that appeals of death do go on for years & years. In the real world the prison would not give a prisoner a cell phone.

Nancy, I could see this time jump thing being a dream (like Dallas).

The last time that I saw, Gina/Hope had been fired by Jack from being commissioner. I guess, she got her job back during the time jump?

I am not surprised that most people are not happy with the time jump. I didn’t like the idea of it when it was being talked about, I really don’t like it now.

That hand of supposedly Stefano is way too young looking to be the real Stefano, even if he had been able to tape scenes, to be used at a later date, before he passed away.

I read on Twitter that Brady & Kristen’s baby didn’t die. That Sarah’s did. And Zander switched the two babies. So now Sarah has Kristen’s baby. All of which, supposedly, happened during the time jump. I wonder how those people on Twitter know that Zander switched the two babies.

Nancy & Linda, the two of you have a great rest of the weekend.

Linda... thanks for the explanation of the kidnapping.  But I'm still a bit confused.  DID Xander kill Jordan?  Exactly HOW did she die?  Was she strangled, or hit her head, or what?  It never really said (did it?).
I like Xander being "bad", but I don't want him to be a murderer!    Of course... all of this "time jump" COULD be somebody's dream!  (Like Dallas).

And... If Xander gives ANYTHING to the "commissioner" (Hope/Gina), you KNOW it will get thrown in the trash... or saved to blackmail someone later.
I've read some comments on one of the soap websites, and seems NOBODY likes this "time jump".  I hope it won't last long (but it will probably last well into 2020.)

I wouldn't worry with a dishwasher if I were you.  It would probably just be a nuisance... since I expect you mostly cook for just one.  ???  (But I would invest in a box of dishwasher powder... it works wonders with stuck on food!  (Letting it soak with hot water for a few hours.)  I've never tried the baking soda thing... but it would probably work too.  (I use the cheapest, smallest box of the powder that I can find!)

I guess our show will be on this week... except for Thursday (not sure about Friday)  ??

I get regular emails and in todays, it said that Stephen Nichols is back on set filming as Steve Johnston, so I guess it won't be Steve as the "new Stephano" I agree with you ladies, Steve is a little to "redneck" to pass as Stephano....

Nancy.... the deal with Clive, Ben and the baby......
Clive got out of the holw and immediately started running the prison again. One of the guards brought him a phone.... Like any prison would allow a prisoner to have free use of a cell phone..... (Clive and Ben were in that little room (only 2 in there so not sure where the rest of the prisoners get to hang out during the day) Clive was telling Ben that he would help him get out the prison because he only had one appeal left (I thought appeals of the death penalty went on for years and years!), but Ben told him he had another plan and that he and Ciara were positive Victor was behind Jordan's death - but of course Victor would not do it himself, so he must have sent Xander to do it and then rewarded him "for the favour" by making Xander CEO of Titan.....

Clive said he would take care of it and Ben told him no, don't do anything, but Clive left and arranged the leverage to force Xander to confess by kidnapping Xander's child.... When Clive came back into the room and told Bed it was all arranged, Ben demanded to know what he had done, then told Clive to return the baby right away. Clive said no it was the only way to prove Ben's innocence and ensure he got out of jail. Then Ben told Clive that as soon as Xander confessed he had to return the baby to her mother, Clive said no he was going to hold onto that baby for a good long while --"to ensure his own freedom" As this was going on, Clive kept texting to Xander demanding he confess or he would never see his kid again. Victor told him to not do anything, to make them tell Xander exactly what they wanted him to do, but Clive was so cagey to fall for that. Finally Xander decided if the only way to get the baby back to Sarah was for him to confess, he would do it -- even if it cost him his relationship with Sarah. Xander wrate a confession and on Friday handed that piece of paper to the "commissioner"

Personally, I think it is not going to be the confession Clive is expecting. Xander is probably admitting to something totally different than Clive expects.....

Hope you can understand my rambling, but that is the jist of what the kidnapping is about.....

When I was growing up, my mother burnt a LOT of pots. She always put baking soda into the pot and boiled it for about 20 minutes or more. If that didn't get it all, she would repeat as many times as needed. So that is what I usually do when I burn a pot. But I couldn't do that with the Instant Pot. I ended up scraping as much burn off as I could, then just letting it soak all day. At one point I dumped out the water and scraped off more of the burnt on stuff..... And when I did dishes tonight the rest came off by using one of those sponges to scour the pot....I don't have a dishwasher (not that I don't want one but there is just no room for one in this tiny place. .... I have seen little tiny ones that sit on top of a counter and I have considered getting one of those when I can afford one...... But until then, maybe I should buy a small box of dishwasher detergent just for those occasions. What brand to you use,?Nancy?

Getting late. Time to "hit the hay" Have a great Sunday....

Happy Saturday Nancy & Linda.

I have my DOOL for yesterday recorded, but don’t know if it is actually DOOL or the impeachment hearings. I’ll find out when I watch it later today.

Linda, I am so sorry that your dinner was ruined and the pot was burnt. I always put baking powder in pots, pans & baking dishes that I have burned. But like you said, it always when I can put it on the stove and boil it. Rolf turning himself into Stefano, that would be interesting and NOT too far out for DOOL as we know it!! I agree with you wanting Hattie to have stayed in gonesville. I do not like that character at all. I don’t like Clyde either and the way that the guards are letting him do what he wants when he wants is just plain stupid.

Nancy & Linda, thanks for explaining to me what a team leader does.

I agree in that Stefano was very dignified. I also think that it would be extremely boring to have “Stefano’s” hands only showing all the time. And no, Steve is not old or dignified enough to play the character of Stefano.

Justin…..yes! That’s his name! I am glad that I’m not the only one, Nancy, who has problems remembering his name. As far as him & Kayla together, I actually think that they make a better couple then Kayla & Steve did.

I don’t blame Marlana at all for wanting Gina out of hers & John’s condo….ASAP.

Ok gals, I am out of here for now. Maybe after I have watched Friday's DOOL, I will be back to comment on it.

Yay!   Our show was back on yesterday.  I'm a bit confused about the kidnapping of Sarah's baby.  I know that Clyde orchestrated it... but not sure why.  And not sure what it has to do with Xander.  ???  I gather that it's some sort of extortion or blackmail... but didn't catch the details.

I looked at Hope/Gina carefully yesterday... and my guess is that she might have had an "eye job".  She has NO wrinkles or lines.... and the skin on her upper face DOES look "tight".  She's also wearing a lot more makeup than Hope usually does.  Don't know if that's because of surgery, or just the character Gina (or both).  I didn't notice any scar lines around her ears (which would indicate a face lift)... but her hair was covering that area anyway.
Here's a tip on "stuck on foods".   Fill the container/pot with very hot (close to boiling) water... and sprinkle some dishwasher power in it.  If it's really burnt on, it won't get it all, but it WILL make it easier to clean.  (The very hot water is necessary to "activate" something in the dishwasher powder)  Normally I use the "pods" in my dishwasher, but I keep a box of the powder JUST to soak stuck on foods!

The "job" of a SP team leader isn't much... It CAN be if you want to do challenges and other stuff... but you can do very little.  I was a team leader once, and at first did a lot of stuff... but gradually the team fell apart.  A team leader CAN invite new people and do a few things that mere members can't.

I think that Gina drugged John so she could get him into a "compromising position"!  Marlana sure won't like a comatose John ... on her first night home!  I just hope that Marlana doesn't drink some of whatever John had and get that way too!    I hope that Gina leaves and Marlana locks the doors!!!

Those hands of "Stefano's" sure don't look like "old man" hands.  They are rather slender and smooth... like someone young!      Maybe ROLF is the "Stefano" character!   (IF Stefano isn't going to be re-cast).  Or.... He COULD just stay "hidden"... and only show his hands.  THAT would be rather boring (in my opinion)... but it would save major bucks on an actor! (Anybody could just stand there with their hands only showing!)       I can't see "Steve" being the new Stefano... but weirder things have happened in Salem!  First off... he's not near "old" enough... nor is he "dignified" enough.  (I always thought Stefano was quite dignified!)

I rather like Kayla with Justin (I, too, usually have a "mental block" about his name.  And every time I think of him I think of what my sister called him... "The Pekingese", because his face reminded her of a Pekingese pup!)

Linda... sorry about your dinner!  But... those things do happen!   (Bet it won't happen to YOU again for a very LONG time!)
I'm with you about Hattie.  She can STAY in "gonesville"!  And I felt the same way about Eli.  I mean seriously!  When he questioned Abby and Chad about what they were talking about... they are MARRIED!  They are ALLOWED to talk to each other!  And it's NONE OF HIS BUSINESS!  Maybe they were talking about sexual matters!  LOL

Happy Friday Evening.....

First of all, my dinner was burnt. I had used mostly all freeze dried foods so it soaked up all the water, and of course the macaroni soaked up the rest. The mac wasn't glue, but it was hard to scoop out of the pot because of the burnt bottom. I told Sis that I must have had a brain f--t because I know better. I just couldn't figure out why it took so long to set the time, and how long it was taking to took.

I even had trouble turning the pot off, but finally turned the switch on the extension cord off to cut all power. Then I have had the pot sitting soaking all day. Sis said to put baking powder in it, but I usually only do that when I can boil the pot, but can't boil this......

OK, I think I am caught up for the week. As I was watching today, I had a thought, maybe silly, but a thought non-the-less...... We have not heard from or about Rolf since this time jump, AND PG is always talking to Steffie (Last little while she has been calling him Stefano) AND while they never show his face, it is obvious the person she is talking to is quite slim...... sooooo, what if Rolf used his technique (that he used to convert Hope into Princes Gina,) to turn himself into Stefano? Wouldn't that be a hoot! I had heard the Steven Nichols (Steve) is back on set filming, so you could be right. Maybe Steve is going to be the new Stefano. Yes, Kayla and Steve will be getting a divorce.... hmmm, Hope and Steve as PG and Stefano. This could get interesting....

Gina did drug John's drink, which is why when he gave her his glass before heading off to the kitchen, PG deliberately spilled the drink on herself so she would have to drink any of it..... Then she took her blouse off in an attempt to get John into bed.... But Marlana came into the apartment and that ended that -- for now. I'm sure she will try again! I don't blame Marlana for wanting Hope to move out of the apartment, and John is being very dense to insiste they had room for her and "they have a lock on their door".

Hope that Ciara is going to be ok and Clives goon passes out again to she can get the baby out of there.

Eli had turned into a robot under Gabby's direction. I was not impressed with him today at all. As for Hattie, I wish they had just left her gonesville. I know Deidre Hall is doing a good acting job, but I just don't like the character. And any prison who lets the inmates run the place the way that Clive is doing, would never dare to put Clive in solitary confinement. The way the guard took the phone from Ben and gave it to Clive, sheer stupidity!

Speaking of looking different, I notice that Eve appears very puffy in the face. I hope her cancer has not returned.

A team leader can be as much or as little work as you want it to be. I am actually team leader for several teams including this one. The only "requirement" is that the team leader must check in at least a couple of times a week to make sure everything is ok and no one needs any help. Team leaders can send spark goodies to members of the team, edit the team (rename some of the forums, etc) , set up automatic messages that will be sent when new members join the team, remove other team leaders if they have not been active for at least 60 days or longs, or even add a new team leader without going through the Spark Coaches (they just submit a request with the new leaders user name, and the coaches will automatically do it....). Some team leaders set up challenges, set up conversations, etc. A lot depends on what kind of team it is and what the team members want....

That's it for tonight. Have a great evening!
Linda

Hello there Nancy & Linda.

I am SICK of the STUPID impeachment hearings. Yesterday, again, DOOL was preempted!!

I know that it is slowing going on the getting things put away after the exterminator was at your place, but little by little you’ll get it done. Please be careful so that you don’t hurt your back again. So, were you about to check out that TV? I hope that it was a good deal and you were able to get it.

Nancy, the pies that you’re going to bake and take for Thanksgiving sound great. Pumpkin is my favorite and pecan was my husband’s favorite. I have heard of Tofu being used in all kinds of weird concoctions. So it does not surprise me about your Chocolate Tofu pie. I bet that it is really good. I very much agree with you in that those who hate Trump will continue to do so, no matter what. And those who like him will continue to do so, no matter what.

AWESOME about DOOL lives going to be on for, at least, another year. But according to the reports that I have heard, they had episodes made and ready to go thru next summer anyway.

Yes, I have noticed that Hope looks different Linda. To be quite honest, I don’t like the way she looks now.

So, how was the macaroni when you opened you IP Linda? I did something similar in my microwave with Rice-A-Roni last week. I combined everything as the directions said, but instead of putting in 2 & ¼ cup water, I put in only 1 & ¼. Half of it was burnt and on the sides of the glass bowl it was stuck so bodily on the sides that I had to soak it half of a day-then still had to scrub & scrub & scrub to get it all off.

OK, do either of you know what the job of a Sparkpeople team leader is? I know that our team hasn’t had one in many years, and I am just wondering what that entails.

I am pretty sure that Sonny & that man nanny is going to get together.

It’s kind of funny seeing John walking around like he’s drunk. Although I think I heard Gina say that she put something in his drink. So whichever it is; it’s interesting to see him stumbling around. I don’t believe that I have ever seen him acting like he’s drunk and/or acting stupid because of drugs.

After John & Marlana went to take a shower together, Gina made a phone call and said that “his Queen of the Night has returned to Salem”. I don’t know of anyone else who would refer to Marlana to Queen of the Night besides Stefano—since she was his Queen of the Night a long time ago.

Haven’t seen Hattie in awhile, even longer for Clyde Weston—but here they are again.

I read that Dr. Rolf is going to transform other Salemites and that the roll of Stefano would not be recast. So even though all the “clues” and such that all of us have made us think that it is Stefano that Gina is talking to and Chad is playing chess with, maybe it’s not. Also read that Stefano will appear to Chad in the form of Steve (Kayla’s husband). And maybe I need my ears cleaned out, but I think that I heard Kayla tell (the person who she is with now, can’t think of his name) that she and Steve have or are getting a divorce. Nine past characters are supposed to appear after Thanksgiving.

OK ladies, this is it for me for today. I hope that DOOL comes on today, especially with it being Friday. Friday’s & Monday’s are usually really good days to watch soap operas.

Hugs to you both,
~~Starr~~

Linda... It must be doubly frustrating for you when Days is preempted because of the "Hearings"... it's not even YOUR country! Hopefully, they are over... for now anyway.

I, too, read where our show will be renewed for at least another year! Yay!

I'll have to notice if Hope looks any different. But it's quite likely that she DID have some "work done".... she's certainly "at that age".

I've never used an Insti Pot... but can imagine how it must have been if you set it for 3 HOURS instead of 3 MINUTES! Hopefully you caught it in time??? Let us know how it turned out.
I love to cook, and am a pretty good one. I don't get things wrong often, but I have had some monumental screw ups, that's for sure!

Shows were pre-empted again today. Hoping to catch it this evening.... I hate it when they are pre-empted for so-called "news" stories that are being aired on the news channels.

I heard that Days has been renewed for another year. YES! The beat goes one, lol

I have been meaning to ask...... Have either of you noticed that Hope appears to have had a face lift? Her skin is so very tight across her cheeks and around her eyes.

Made supper in my IP tonight but boy did I goof. I threw in a variety of freeze dried stuff, then got the pot hot using saute, then threw in some macaroni because I don't have any potatoes and still can't get to my rice. Set it for 3 minutes -- I thought --- but it was actually 3 hours..... Oh, my. I turned it off as soon as I realized what I had done, but I have no idea what will be revealed when I open the lid..... That macaroni must be pure glue!

And no wonder I am so hungry. I should have eaten hours ago.....

Well off to see if there is anything left to salvage, then see if I can find my show....

On Monday Sallie had her second chemo treatment.  So far the only "side effect" is somewhat a loss of appetite.  I'm sure it will only last a couple of days.  (They gave me some medication to give her in case of nausea, vomiting, or inappetite... so I'm giving her some of that.)

Starr.... your dump cake sounds delicious.  I love "cherry" almost anything!  I think I made a dump cake once (it wasn't called that however) and it was good... But I just don't NEED to be baking!  (Of course I do... and end up eating way too much of it!)  My "specialty" is pies.  I make very good pies (if I do say so myself!).  I'll be baking two or three pumpkin (my grandmother's recipe) and a couple of pecan pies (my grandson's favorite) for Thanksgiving.

I don't have time today... but some day I'll share a recipe for "Chocolate Tofu Pie".  Sounds awful.... but it's really easy, DELICIOUS (you would never know it had tofu in it!)... and kinda, sorta, somewhat healthy!  (I served it not long ago at a family gathering... and didn't tell anyone it had tofu in it... When it was GONE, I divulged the secret!  My family was amazed!)
I don't know a whole lot about credit scores.... except the higher the better!  Try going to your bank... they should be able to tell you something, and might not charge to do it.  Your credit score shouldn't go DOWN if you pay your bills.  But what do "I" know?????

The story of that baby is truly a miracle!!!  I hope the baby IS home for Christmas, and continues to do well!!

Linda.... I agree, I wish our soap would come back on!  I TRIED to watch some of the "Hearing" yesterday... but I quickly became bored to tears.  It's a total waste of money.  Those who hate Trump will continue to hate him... and those who love him will continue to love him.  I don't think there is an solid evidence of a "crime"... so impeachment is unlikely.
Ahhhh.... snow! I've lived "up north" a couple of times, and I DO NOT like anything that falls from the sky in solid form! LOL I can do "cold", but not frozen precipitation!!!

I don't have a clue how to find out my credit score.

That is amazing about that baby. Glad it is all working out....

This is going to be another crazy week for soaps. Those impeachment hearings continue this week so soaps were preempted today. I missed DOOL today. I'll have to tape several channels tomorrow so can hopefully catch up.... General Hospital was also preempted but not sure about Y & R.

I got one tote bin put away today. It was so heavy, I hurt my back again, so am having to take it very very slow.

We got snow again today. One second it was almost sunny, the next was very dull and dreary, then great huge snowflakes falling, then 5 minutes later it looked like it wasn't snowing anymore but Sis told me it was a very fine (so fine it looked like there was nothing there) snow falling.

One of the stores has a great deal on a TV but I did not know about it until quite late this evening. If I had known about it earlier, my BIL would have taken me to that store so I could check it out. I don't know if I can get a ride tomorrow but BIL is working and the sale is over tomorrow. I will try to phone to ask questions, maybe I can order on the store website? Will have to see....

I have never made a dump cake. I did add a can of pie filling to a bread recipe once. Wasn't too bad tasting, but kind of weird. lol Another time I tried making a cake that called for a can of pop instead of the oil/butter, etc. It was so dry and tasteless, I was not at all impressed and won't try that one again. I need to learn how to make pastry cream so I can try to make Boston Cream Pie using a cake recipe. It called for a package of vanilla pudding mix but I would rather have the real thing.

Hope you all have a great day.

emoticon Sorry I’ve not been on here the past couple of days.

Linda, welcome back.....you have been missed. emoticon

If I correctly heard what Gina & John were talking about, Marlana was at some kind of medical school (or some such thing) in another state. I believe that John & Gina are in his & Marlana's condo when Marlana unexpectedly comes in to find them in, almost, a compromising position.

Sunday my church had their Thanksgiving lunch. It was really good, and a lot of food. The church provided the turkey & ham, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, white & brown gravy, cranberry sauce & rolls. Everyone was supposed to bring a dessert. So when I say there was a LOT of food, I mean it. I made a cherry dump cake, and I was very surprised when I left to find entire baking dish empty! That was with about 30 other kinds of desserts on that table. So the next time that the church asks for desserts, I think I will bring that again. You can make different flavors of dump cake. Pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry, peach, apple, mincemeat, blackberry. Basically any kind of pie/cobbler that you can think of can be made into a dump cake. And it is really easy to make too. It takes longer to bake then it does to assemble & get ready to go into the oven.

Hay do either of you ladies know anything about your credit scores? I monitor mine and have found that every 4 months the score has decreased. I am NOT happy about this and cannot figure out why it is happening. I always pay my bills on time; have only 1 credit card—which I pay off every month. So I have no outstanding bills. Mine & my DH’s credit score was always in the mid to high 800’s. But now it is down in the high 600’s. I am not planning on buying anything on credit/time, but you never know what may happen and it will be necessary to do so. But even aside from that, it makes me feel (I don’t know; stupid or not worthy) for my credit score to be so low. Does that make any sense? I called the credit bureaus, but they charge more than $50.00 just to look at your history to find out why your credit score is reducing.

Today I had my piano lesson, after that I went & picked up my groceries from wal-mart. On the way home we picked up some lunch from Taco Bell. The high today was 70 degrees, but didn’t feel that warm because of a cold wind……a lot of folks would be complaining about it being to “cold”, but not me. I LIKE cool weather.

Two weeks ago a church members DIL was pregnant and put in the hospital (for the 2nd time) with high blood pressure. The doctor told her that they were going to have to take the baby by cesarean section right then. Because the continued high blood pressure could kill the baby. The baby was not due till the end of January, so it was delivered almost 13 weeks early. When the doctor delivered the baby, he found that the placenta had been dead for more than a month. In case you all didn’t know, the placenta is what feeds the baby. The doctor said that the baby SHOULD HAVE been stillborn. Said that there is no medical reason why the baby should have been alive. Anyone who would not admit that God was right in the middle of that, to me, is stupid!! The baby was only 2 pounds when it was delivered, but it is very healthy. All organs are fully developed and the baby is breathing on its own, eating, pooping & peeing with no help. The only reason why the little one is still in the hospital is because of its weight. The grandmother says that the doctor’s expect she will be home with her family by Christmas. Talk about a miracle and just in time for Christmas—no less.

OK girls, You all have a happy & blessed day.

emoticon to you both,
~~Starr~~

MORE blankety-blank @#$%#!$@ Impeachment Hearings!!!!

So.... Marlana was "away" for several months (don't know where she went)... but that doesn't explain why John would be in the Salem Inn with Hope?  What happened to there apartment/condo?  Or is "Gina/Hope" at their condo?  I'm confused.

I suppose Adrian's death was "accidental"?  So why is Will in prison?  I guess we will find that out too.

Maybe "Steffy" is Stefan.  ???  Wonder if Gabi will know.... IF that is, indeed, him?

Linda... Welcome back!  What an ordeal you had to go through!  I have hear that some exterminators make you clear out closets and cabinets!  I suppose that might be necessary if there is an infestation (especially in a large building).  We have an exterminator who comes regularly.  It is almost a necessity in Florida!  We have BUGS in our state!  We have been using the same local company for nearly 40 years.   It started out with the father, then when he got sick (about 30 years ago!) his son took over.  He also sprays our daughter's house.  It's great because we trust him totally... and if we aren't here, he knows where the hidden key is and just lets himself in.

I'm glad that you, too, will stay on and chat even if our show goes away!

Why in the world would Kristen be in a convent in Europe (and coincidentally the SAME one as Lani) if she killed Hailey.  Maybe she left before they discovered that she did it.... and perhaps they left together???  Sounds like Kristen might be "changing her ways"!  (Murderers in Salem often do that!  Become upstanding citizens!)

It indeed is going to be interesting to see what happens with "Steffy"!

Where was Marlana that "Gina" held her letters to John?  And why would John need a roommate?  I guess we will find all that stuff out.

I hope Days doesn't get cancelled ..... YET.
Many years ago, I watched Another World, The Doctors, and Days. (They came one after the other).  When Doctors and AW got cancelled, I swore that I would never get hooked on another soap!  Keeping up with ONE is time consuming enough!  And... it would be too difficult to get involved with another soap!  LOL

Hi ladies. How are you doing?

It has been a very stressful week. The pest control was in to do a preventative spray for bed bugs. Apparently there are some unit in the building that have them, so they were spraying all the units. It involved packing up so much and storing it in the middle of the floor (which left very little space to walk) and moving everything out of the storage closet, clothes closet, etc. So I have piles of totes in my storage room and I can't get to any of the shelves if I need a can of vegetables, or some rice, or whatever. It is very frustrating.

Ok, what a week it has been for our show. Monday and Tuesday were ok, but the rest of the week was a huge mix up. I actually taped the show on several different channels ((New York, Toronto, Spokane and an Edmonton channel.) So I think NBC somehow aired most of the shows at a different time and I think I ended up getting all the shows. I hope those impeachment hearing don't drag on to next week....

Sonny's mom's name is Adrienne. I have not heard how or why Will killed her. It is taking awhile to catch up to the new timeline.

Here's a though. Kristen lost her baby. Kristen killed Hailey (which is why JJ is so angry with Brady for defending Kristen) . So far they have not said why Kristen killed Hailey, but I think Kristen blamed Hailey for the baby's death. Lani and Kristen are now in a convent in Europe, Kristen was giving Lani some great advice, for Lani to be absolutely sure there was nothing to try to make up with Eli.... Seemed so strange coming from Kristen.

Yes, that was Stefano's ring. Gina was calling him "Steffy" as she was painting him. I agree with you, it is Stefano in that chair. The question is this. Is Stefano real or a figment of PG's imagination.
"Hope's" house was flooded so she was "oh woe is me, I guess I have to take a room at the Salem Inn and John invites to to be roommates. Of course PG wants to be more than just roommates.....

PG is hiding all of Marlena's letters to John, and some how keeping all of John's letters to Marlena so they don't get mailed...... She has quite a pile of them.

That was so funny when John told PG she could have his glass of wine..... How can she refuse it without letting him know that she had drugged it. So when he goes out of the room, she deliberately spilled wine on her dress and took her blouse off, and before she could make her move, Marlena walked through the door. Poor John did not know what was going on.

I hope Ben and Ciara figure out who actually killed Jordan. Even if it's Victor. He's a little too self-satisfied, if you ask me....

I don't know what is going on with Stefan and .... did you mean Gabbi or Abby? Chad and Abby are back from Paris and trying to come up with a way of getting Gabbi out of "Dimara Ent. I know Brandon Barash was back on set taping again before he was even off screen from the first go round....

When I was in the hospital, they gave me morphine for pain. Boy did that make me loopy! As much as I hated the pain, I was quite happy when I left the hospital and didn't take that anymore. They gave me some other pain meds but I never got them filled. I have never liked the feeling when I drank anything and I was never into any pot or other drugs. I hate feeling dizzy so I would never willingly take something that would bring on those side effects.

I don't really know if our show will be cancelled. A lot of people (actors, producers, even NBC exects are saying that is not happening, but with the show being consistently in 4th place, it could happen. They have enough episodes in the cans to go through to August, 2020. If they don't come up with a new contract, we would know about it long before then.... But yes, we could still chat here even if that does happen.

Must get going. I have some stuff to do before I can retire for the night and I keep putting it off. I can't do that anymore.

Hope you are having a great weekend.....

Starr.... There is one thing that I learned about taking pain meds (especially the opioid based ones.).... you MUST eat before taking them!  If nothing else, a couple of crackers.. something "solid"..  A couple of times (before I realized this), I took them on an empty stomach... and like you, I got sever nausea and vomiting!  Since you had a badly abscessed tooth, you probably did NOT eat!

I missed Thursday's show.... and yesterday had more of the SILLY "Impeachment hearings".  "(Trump has done some "inappropriate" things... the tweets, etc,... but I don't think he has done anything "impeachable". )

I'm not sure what exactly Ben and Ciara think to accomplish by making Victor think they have broken up.  Yes, she might get an advancement with the company... but as soon as Vic finds out she is back with Ben, he will fire her.  No matter HOW far she as advanced in the company!  Look how many times he's fired Brady!

I don't know WHO the "man with the ring" is.  Maybe Tony?  Or Chad?  Who knows.  All I know is that if it's Stefano being played by another actor, he will have to be REALLY GOOD to impress ME!

I, too, cannot imagine KRISTEN being a nun!  But... losing the baby?    THAT could put her over the edge and make her go into a convent!

I take it that "Hope" is still "Gina"  (Ugh).  Haven't a clue what happened to Marlana.  Guess we will find out.  (IF they will end those Hearings and let us have our show back!)

WHAT?  Stefan is back... and with Abby?  What happened to Chad?   And you're right... how does Gabi NOT know him?  Unless the actor who played Stefan is now playing Chad?????
Sallie has her next Chemo treatment on Monday... Afternoon.   So I won't be able to see our show.  IF they show it!    Will they just delay the broadcasts if the Hearings go on?  I hope they won't just skip over any episodes!

Linda... I miss you! Hope you get back here soon!

Hello Nancy.

I am so glad that your shoulder is much better now. Evidently I do not have a "addictive nature" either. When I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago, I was put on a strong pain pill. Only took for 5 days and quit, as the pain was little enough that I could stand it. The doctor told me that I needed to take them for 2 weeks. But I hate taking medication, and was no longer in severe pain so I quit taking them. I actually cannot take opioids, even if I wanted/needed to. They make me deathly ill. When we came back from Germany in 1989, I had a horribly abscessed tooth. My husband took me to the emergency dentist at the Air Force base. That dentist gave me Percocet to help with the pain till Monday when I could get in to see the regular dentist. The Percocet made me so sick. Constantly throwing up, feeling so dizzy that I couldn't stand up for more then a few seconds, and my vision was extremely blurry. Opioids does some nasty stuff to me. I pray that I will never have to take opioids, for it if do--I'll be in trouble.

I've never had bourbon, but I love Peppermint Schnapps. Honestly, I have not had very many kinds of alcohol in my life. Because I've never been big on drinking any of it. I very occasionally will have a glass of wine. And even though I like Peppermint Schnapps, I've not had any since I was in my 20's.

The new actress for Ari is a whole lot older then just 1 year of what the last child was. I guess that the producers guesses that the audience will not notice the huge age difference.

That is quite a little scheme that Ben & Ciara have cooked up...her telling Victor that she does not want anything else to do with Ben.

I wonder why/how Will killed Sonny's mom (I can't think of her name).

Isn't that black onyx ring the one that Stefano use to wear? Judging by the way Hope is talking to the man who has his back to the camera while she is painting, I would say that the man is Stefano. What's going to be the way that the producers reintroduce him to the audience...since the real actor is dead! Maybe a whole new body? Or, at the very least, major cosmetic surgery?

So, evidently Kristen lost the baby. I wonder if it was before or after the birth. It effected Brady so horribly that he is back in AA meetings.

They showed both Lani & Kristen as nun's. Wow, of all things for them to be....ESPECIALLY Kristen.

John & Hope are together? What? What happened to Marlena?

I agree with everything that you said about our (family) pets. Even at my vets office they refer to our pets as either our babies or our little one's.

So Stefan is back as Abby's mate? And Gabi doesn't recognize him? How does that work?

On the topic of "substance abuse"... I am very fortunate.... I am do not have an "addictive nature".  I didn't really realize this until a couple of years ago when a friend of mine was talking about going through colon cancer, and how she was on "Percocets" (an opioid) for about a month... when she came off of them she went through terrible "withdrawal".  Hearing her story was an eye-opener.  In 2000 I had a very bad shoulder injury... lots of nerve damage.  I was on Percocets or other strong pain pills for over six month... and sporadically for another 6 months or so.  The pain was terrible... but I finally got better (all is well now).  When the pain lessened, I stopped taking the pain pills.  No problem.  Actually, I didn't really like the side effects, so I LIKED stopping them.  In the years after that, there have been other occasions that I've needed pain pills... and again, when the pain was gone, I didn't have any problem stopping them.
Same with me and alcohol.  I can take it or leave it.  I ENJOY a glass of wine or a cocktail (love the taste of bourbon!).... but I certainly don't "need" a drink.

I missed yesterday's show.... we went to visit some old friends that we haven't seen in several years.  It's a rainy day today, so I'll be watching!  Of course the show was preempted for the Impeachment hearings on Wednesday.  Don't know how long that will last.
I agree.  It's a total waste of tax payers' money!  I can understand how many just "don't LIKE" Trump... he can be somewhat "abrasive"... but he gets things done!  And a person shouldn't be impeached because one party doesn't LIKE him!  The economy is doing great, unemployment is way down... especially for minorities!  He HAS done a lot.             I wish the elected officials in Washington would DO THEIR JOBS! Rather than just bickering back and forth!  (BOTH parties!)

Yep.  Our "fur babies" ARE family members!  I only have the one pet... and I could write a book about her!  We adopted her nearly 5 years ago.  She was 4 years old at the time.  And I cannot imagine why ANYBODY would give her up!  She was VERY well trained!  So well that she might have even been trained as a Service Dog... or at least a Therapy dog.   She sleeps in her crate (and LIKES it... often goes there during the day).  She cannot get up on the beds or other furniture, as she has arthritic hips, and needs help getting "up" on anything (or into the car). Okay... I'll stop!  I need to go get breakfast!  (I love hearing about other people's pets... so chat away!  LOL)

emoticon Good morning Nancy.

YES......I DO want us to remain friends. If our beloved show goes off, I hope that Linda will have the same attitude for the 3 of us. emoticon

That is interesting that you have actually meant a couple of your team member on your other team. I use to be a part of the Chihuahua Team, but it closed down as no one was posting any longer. The person who was the team leader on that team is actually a close friend of mine now. We had spent about 4 years of chatting with one another (and the other team members). We even exchanged e-mail addresses & phone numbers. So, even though we still posted on the team, we did a lot of e-mailing and calling each other on the phone. Then 2 years after my husband passed away they built a house in Arkansas and moved from Minnesota to Arkansas. Now that we were only 1 state from one another (about a 4 hour drive) she invited me to come and spend a week with her. So that is what I did 3 years ago. She & I had a great time. And after knowing one another for 8 years or so, we keep in close contact thru e-mail & phone. She is wanting me to come for a visit again, but even though it is not really that long of a drive, it is hard for me to do. With the pain that long distance driving causes me, I just can't do it any longer. emoticon So me literally meeting her (and the two of us becoming great friends) is the only thing that I really got out of the Chihuahua team--since it tanked.

I thought about the possibility of JJ being responsible for Hailey's death. Car accident, like you said. Similar to the accident that Eric & Daniel were in, which killed Daniel. Yes, I am sure that we will find out, sooner or later, what happened to Hailey. Which will probably reveal the reason for the awful state in which JJ is in. I cannot say as far as drugs either. And I really cannot say about alcohol either, as I only a very occasional drink wine. But I have heard a lot of horror stories from people thru the years, concerning both drugs & alcohol.

I saw on my news feed yesterday where the actor who plays "Brady Kiriakis" put on his Twitter feed that the fans had nothing to worry about. Said that DOOL was not ending. He said that the cast is only going on an extended vacation, because they have episodes taped & ready to be aired all the way into summer of 2020. He said to NOT believe what the news outlets were saying about DOOL ending. It made me feel a bit better to read what he said about DOOL not ending.

I didn't watch DOOL yesterday, as the entire episode was preempted by the impeachment hearting of President Trump. Why are they trying to get rid of the only president that we have had in well over a decade who managed to get things done and actually fulfilled, at least some, of his promises that he made when he was campaigning to get into that office? By no means am I saying that he is a wonderful president, but he is a lot better then what we have had in a very long time!!

I am so, so glad that little Sallie is doing so well. I am glad that her having not healed completely after the 1st chemo is not anything to worry about. When you said some people and then put dogs in, Nancy, I am a 110% animal lover. I consider them tiny humans with 4 feet and lots of hair. I treat mine like they are my babies, because they are my babies. Anytime they need to go to the doctor, they go. I have them (both cats & dogs) on special food, because all of them are senior citizens and require more specialized food then younger dogs & cats. All of them sleep in my bed with me, I have dog/cat beds in every room of my house to accommodate where they desire to be. Even the bathrooms. There have been times that I have taken them to the vet because I was worried that there might be something wrong with them....most of the time it is a false alarm, but there have been a few times that there was indeed something wrong and I was able to get a jump on it before it got bad. So, you calling Sallie, or any other animal a human or people or something such as that......it makes me smile to know that you love animals the same as I do.

Ok girlfriend, I have things to do which are calling my name. So guess that I will close this here.

Yay!  We will continue here even if the Show gets cancelled!  I'm in another Sparks group... a small one... that started out as just "weight loss"... and we have become very close friends.  Two of the ladies especially.  One is from Canada... and she and her husband usually come to Florida during the winter, and Ted and I have met with them several times.... and another lady in the group has joined us on two occasions.  But even if WE never meet in person... we can truly be FRIENDS.

Perhaps JJ is somehow responsible for Hailey's death?  Maybe a car accident in which he was driving... or some other kind of accident.   I suppose we will find out.
I've known a few people who just cannot handle their alcohol.  Me?  I like a glass of wine, or a cocktail... especially if I'm stressed or tired.  It DOES tend to relax me.  But never, EVER to DROWN any problems!  You're right... the problems are still there, and the alcohol does nothing to help them!  (Don't know about the drug thing... guess it's the same.)

Oh... Sallie is doing fine.  I don't know if I mentioned it... but she was to go in for her second chemo treatment last week, but her "white blood count was too low" (as result of not "healing" completely after the first chemo).  They said it was nothing to worry about.. that some people ... I mean DOGS!.... take longer than others to get over the treatments.  They said we may need to "space" her chemo treatments farther apart in the future.  We will take her in on Monday and try again.  I WILL give her a hug for you!

Good moring Nancy-and Linda if your reading.

I could see the cancelation of the actors' contracts being a huge publicity stunt.

Nancy, I can't speak for Linda (of course), but if DOOL gets canceled I will continue to post here. I was thinking about that before going to sleep last night, that even if we don't have a show to talk about any longer, I still want to keep chatting with the two of you. Even without DOOL, we can still talk about our lives. For a long time all anyone talked about on this team was DOOL only. Which I know that is what the team is about. But I enjoy hearing about your all's life too. I've come to think of the two of you as my "sisters". Does that make sense?

I also cannot imagine why Will would kill Adrian. Poor Sonny & Adrian's husband (can't think of his name right now).

YES, that young man (nanny) of David's is VERY Gorgeous. And yes, I get the feeling that he is gay....judging by the way that he talks, acts and his mannerisms. That is a total waste!! I agree that he is almost too pretty. Most men would be offended if you called them pretty. But I have a feeling that he would not be offended at all. It would probably make him grin, or even blush.

That IS a total shocker to have a paternity test being altered in Salem. NOT!! Unfortunately it is a norm for that city.

I agree that JJ's awful appearance is probably because of him losing Hailey. He really loved her. And that is probably combined with his mother having been in a coma for a year. Using and/or abusing drugs and maybe even alcohol to try to ease the pain. Although I've never understood using drugs/alcohol to ease pain. Its still going to be there after you become sober again.

My eldest DD said that her mother had been "ready to go" for more then a year before she passed. I do believe that she is in "a better place". Just like my precious husband. Neither of them are in pain any longer.

Would you give your little Sallie a emoticon for me, Nancy?

You have a emoticon day.

I, too, heard about the cancellation of the actors' contracts.  I'm HOPING that it is a huge publicity stunt!  Aren't the "sweeps" coming up this month?  Perhaps they are thinking that if enough people hear about the possibility of the show being canceled, they will write in and express a desire to keep it on.  As we know, contracts can be canceled and renewed a the drop of a hat!   Some might be awarded a contract at their "going rate" (the more popular actors)... but others might not... or might be replaced with "up and coming" actors... or "has beens".
IF the show DOES get canceled... I hope you two gals will continue to post here!  I'd miss "chatting" with you!

Evidently, Will killed Adrian!  WHAT?  I cannot imagine WHY.  I think at one time Adrian didn't approve of Will (but only because he was Sami's son... I think).  But that wouldn't be enough reason to KILL her.

What a GORGEOUS young man that "nanny" (for David) is!  I'm sure he's gay... but... oh what a waste!  (But he's almost TOO pretty!)

Xander in glasses... I personally think they are sexy!
Oh what a shocker.  A paternity test being altered!  I don't think there has EVER been a CORRECT paternity test in Salem!!!
I guess we will find out what happened to Hailey.  That would explain why JJ looks so.... grubby.  (And is evidently using drugs... perhaps abusing prescriptions)

Starr... I know that your DD is grieving over her MIL.  At that age, with 10 years of poor health, I imagine she really IS "in a better place".

Oh no Nancy & Linda.......I found this on my Outlook homepage just a bit ago. emoticon

Courtesy of NBC
TVLine has learned exclusively that the producers of Days of Our Lives have released the entire cast from their contracts, with the venerable soap set to go on an indefinite hiatus at month’s end. While the NBC sudser has not been canceled, the unprecedented — and decidedly ominous — move comes at a precarious time for ratings-challenged Days and the vanishing soap genre as a whole. It also comes as Sony Pictures Television and NBC are in negotiations to renew series.

Reps for NBC and Sony declined to comment for this story. A Sony source, meanwhile, tells TVLine that the studio is not involved in the contract negotiations with the cast. “The actor deals are through Corday Productions,” explains the insider, referring to Days‘ production company. A spokesperson for Corday Productions, meanwhile, did not reply to TVLine’s request for a comment.

An insider cautions that because Days shoots eight months in advance, the show will have enough episodes in the can when it stops production at the end of November to last through Summer 2020. If NBC does renew Days, production is expected to resume in March. But by releasing the contracted cast members from their commitment to the show, producers have no guarantee who — if anyone — will return.

“It’s actually a shrewd — if cynical — business move,” sniffs one insider. “If Days gets picked up, [Corday] can offer the actors new contacts at a reduced rate and with a ‘take-it-or-leave’ it attitude. Worst case scenario, they lose half their cast. Best case scenario [for Corday], everyone agrees to return at a lower salary.”

Despite the gloomy turn of events, a source tells TVLine, “All indications are that NBC would like to keep the show going.”

The news comes as Days is shaking things up on-screen. This week, the soap is fast-forwarding the narrative by one year. “This is a great way to reset things in Salem,” executive producer Ken Corday told TVInsider.com of the time jump. “It will be a catalyst for many more [changes] to follow.”

Starr says; I don't think that any of the actors/actresses are going to be willing to come back with reduced pay. They can't be taking DOOL of our lives off the air. It has been around, I think, longer then any other soap opera that is on the air now. I am NOT happy about this news.

Good morning Nancy (and Linda if you read this),

It is possible that the place didn't want to understand that problem, therefore not having to deal with it. But when it comes to things such as getting someone's order right, you would think that they would want to do that so that they would continue wanting to come back. Even when you order something from the menu and didn't ask for any changes in the meal. But it is brought to you either changed in someway or they bring you something totally different from what you ordered from the menu. emoticon I heard what your saying about being in Indonesia & Iraq. That was the same for us when my husband was stationed in Germany with the Army. We had to abide by their laws, not cause any kind of trouble, learn enough German to "get by". Their country, ways & laws are so different then what they are in America. You are very correct about if you don't abide by a country's laws you will likely be shot or beheaded!! If we did that here in America, we'd have a lot less hassle all the way around.

Yes, yesterday's show was very weird. Sarah stayed in Salem and had the baby. And Xander is "playing" the dad, even though he's not. He, somehow, had a fake paternity test made, stating that he is the father. Nichole appears to be the head of Basic Black now, but she & Eric (seem) to still be together. At the end of Friday's show, they showed Ben coming home to someone dead, who I though was Ciara. But it was Jordan. So he is in prison now, I assume for killing Jordan. And Will is on the top bunk from Ben. I have NO idea of why he would be in prison! Xander is wearing glasses now, which I think seriously deters from his handsomeness. JJ looks terrible-like maybe he is back on drugs. Don't know what happened to Hailey, but there is a plaque with her picture at the hospital, so I assume that she was somehow killed.

I'm excited to watch today's episode.

My eldest DD's MIL passed away Sunday afternoon. She was 94 years old, but had been in bad health for the past 10 years.

Starr.... BINGO!  You hit the nail on the head saying that so many who come to this country these days don't want to change and adapt to OUR culture and our ways.  It's great to remember one's heritage, and to keep one's traditions.. but you need to adapt to whatever society you live in!  Too many come here just for the "handouts" they can get!
Perhaps at that Mexican restaurant that you went to, they didn't WANT to understand what the problem was!  They CONVENIENTLY couldn't understand English!
When we were overseas (Ted had jobs in Indonesia... totaling 5 years, and one in Iraq for one year)... we had to conform to THEIR laws and customs.  I never got "good" at speaking Indonesian, but I tried, and was able to get along in the markets.  Iraq we abided by the Muslim customs (no shorts... dress had to be very conservative... and there were places where women were not allowed.  That was okay... it was THEIR country.)
In some countries, if you break the law, you are not necessarily deported... you are SHOT!!!  (Or beheaded!)

I watched yesterday's show.  Weird.  (I don't know how they will manage to "come back" to current times!)  But our show was preempted with local "breaking news"... so I miss about 20 minutes of it.  I did see the last couple of minutes where Ben was in prison... and there was a guy on the top bunk... was that WILL???  They only showed him for a couple of seconds.... I couldn't tell. And if it WAS Will... there is no way that ANY prison would put someone in a cell with someone who tried to kill him!
And.... Are Xander and Sarah married? Or are they just "parenting" the baby (as if it's Xanders? (Cute little baby! Is it a girl?)
