Hello Everyone... Hope All are well and doing fine...! The Days Are Getting Longer, I love the sunshine...!

The last 7 days for me have been One Meal A Day, OMAD and 20, 24,22, 23, 24, 20 & 22 hour fasts with short windows for eating...!

Today is Day 60 IF for me and I did 2MAD 19 / 5... 60 Days doing IF has helped me stay centered, plus I am eating better foods... I feel it is making a difference... This past week I lost 1 more pound. it's slow but steady... !

I really like it when my eating for the day is over at 7 P.M. but with "mixing things up" and the longer fasts, I did have times of eating later than 7 P.M.... but it's all good I am getting used to it.

Hello Everyone,,, Today is IF Day 54 for me I did my First 24 Hour Fast...! It was as easy as I thought it would be. I had a 2 hour eating window later than I usually eat but it's all good...

I ran some errands & kept busy all day. I am excited to have had the first 24 hour fast... I knew I could do it... now to work on planning it to end earlier but with all the hours I want... I worked really hard to get out of the habit of eating late... but I'm not going to stress over it...

Now to see what tomorrow brings...Have a great day... Hazel

Bobbie, Saturday marked 50 Days IF for me...! I am so excited to be able to actually do something so proactively for 50 days...! I plan on doing this for a good while...! It really suits me well... it is a great Way Of Eating...!

Bobbi, Thanks for the link to the video...!

For some reason, after I had my hip replacement... my FitBit was bothering me on my wrist... I even switched sides... so I hadn't been using it much... plus when pushing a cart or carrying something with both hands... or using a walker... the FitBit does not track any steps... so I decided to figure out how to make it work with that elastic strap and a needle & thread...my FitBit band has small holes in the entire band so it was easy to sew it using those holes...!

I've been using hand weights and a medium resistance band. I sewed my FitBit to an elastic / Velcro strap to wear on my ankle... I like it and so far it is doing what I need it to do which is to count all my steps...

Hello Everyone,

My Way Of Eating (WOE) for the rest of this year & into 2021 will be to continue IF & work on " Low Carb-ing It " as best I can. I continue to weigh, measure & count my food as that way I know the exact amount I am consuming... I am upping my protein too... it keeps cravings at bay. One Meal A Day (OMAD) has taken on "A Place In My Line Up" as well as "Longer Fasts" .

Eating the larger meal during the middle of the day is great but does not always fit in with my schedule... but I still do that as I can... I am able to do longer fasts: 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 hour fasts seem to fit in easily. I will be extending times of fasts as I am able to... usually after fasting for so many hours, I say to myself "When do You want to eat? ", "Can You go a little longer.? " going a little longer works well, it helps extend the fast.

I have not had many signs of "Low Blood Sugar " since I started IF, even on a longer fast , not having those feelings of LBS has been a plus with IF and I am glad I haven't had those... Before IF LBS was causing me to reach for "just anything to eat" which was leading me "to make bad choices"...

Moving along on the IF Train...! Today is Day 37 IF for me...! 12.24.2020 has been one of my Lowest Carb Days... at 35 Grams...! I am making a mindful choice to limit my Carbs and it has been exciting, "To See How Low I Can Go"...! My Carbs are not perfect but I am more aware of my Carbs than ever before.

Looking forward to what 2021 may bring is encouraging to me... I am finally seeing the scales moving down after a long plateau and that is a big WHOOP...!

I appreciate all your posts and comments... Knowing You are there means a lot to me...!...Thank You...!

Even if you are not a Type 2 diabetic, you can buy over the counter a Bood Sugar Montier for about $10. and 50 test strips for about $5. to check your blood sugar at Wal Mart. It's a good idea to keep an eye on your blood sugar and you can see if certain foods spike your blood sugars if you check it about 1 and 1/2 hours after you eat. Your blood sugar should be under 140 (in this time frame) after meals.

Lots of people don't realize that they are Type 2 diabetic. I didn't until my doctor checked my labs in 2005. I was in total shock because it is like high blood pressure, it is a silent disease. If you are normal you will have a reading in the morning before you eat between 80 and 100 generally.

Happy Christmas Eve y'all. I hope you had as great of one as my Dubby and I had.

We spent the day listening to Christmas music while wrapping gifts and delivering them to friends' doorsteps (because of COVID). Some of the gifts were the toy wooden cars and trucks we made in our woodshop. As you can see we painted and put stickers on them. They were fun to make.

Today is Day 33 for me...I am so happy I have consistently done IF for over 30 days... I really love it a lot and things are finally falling in place... but I am still going to "mix things up" and eventually I hope to do a day and one half fast and move on from there...

I don't know about y'all but I have lost a lot of hair (about 50%) over the past 6 or 8 months. I have been searching for things that might help and what could be causing it.

I have tried several things like oils, hair masks, and different shampoos, and of course good nutrition. I thought I was losing it because I'm getting older but I found out last night (I was up until 5 AM searching for what else may cause hair loss) and I found this in a couple of YouTube videos.

Dr. Fung says the cause of obesity is hormones and the two main ones are insulin and cortisol but the main one is insulin. When you give people insulin they gain weight. When you take away insulin they lose weight.

Type 1 diabetics are when you have low insulin and Type 2 diabetics are when people have high insulin and high glucose levels (there is a difference between insulin and glucose). So to lose weight you need to lower insulin (and sugar in Type 2 diabetics). The GOOD NEWS IS Type 2 diabetes is REVERSIBLE!!! When Type 2 diabetic people lose weight Type 2 diabetes goes away.

Losing weight has nothing to do with lowering calories. In fact, lowering calories slows down your metabolism. Low fat low-calorie diets fail 99% of the time. You lower insulin by lowering refined carbs and eating moderate amounts of protein and eat good fats until you are full and do intermittent fasting.

When you eat you store food energy and when you don't eat your body burns food energy (your fat stores). Balance the two and you won't gain weight.

When you sleep your insulin gets lower and that's why you weigh less in the morning. So, if you aren't hungry in the morning just continue with your fast. When you feel a little hungry if you can wait about an hour that wave of hunger will pass so you can push that out to continue your fast from your sleeping time.

After about 24 hours your body starts into autophagy and you start getting human growth hormones. So, give your body a chance to rest and your insulin levels will fall and your body will burn your stored fat.





Today is a walk day for me. I'm building up my steps by walking every other day. My goal is 10,000 steps a day. Until last Tue. I hadn't been taking walks for about 5 years. After 3 days of walking every other day, I had to recover from a spasm in my lower back. But I'm better now.

Right now I'm doing a fast. I ate dinner last night 11/20/20. The longest fast I have ever done was 3 days and I wasn't hungry at the end of those 3 days.

Dr. Berg and Dr. Fung say after 24 hours your body starts into autophagy and you start getting human growth hormones. This time I'm going to see how far I can go. So as of 6 PM tonight it will be 24 hours.

emoticon Did y'all know that Dr. Robert C. Atkin's (Atkin's Diet) was actually a Keto diet (very low carbs 20 grams on phase one)?

In 1996 I did the Atkin's Diet and lost 50 lbs. I still have a copy of his book and I'm reading it again. The big difference between the Atkin's Diet and Keto is on Keto we eat a lot more green veggies and we do Intermittent Fasting now.

Back in 1996, we didn't have YOUTUBE but I did a search and found a few videos on the Atkin's Diet if you would care to watch them. Of course, Dr. Atkin's is not in them.

I also did a search on Amazon.com for Dr. Atkin's diet books and videos and they do still sell his books and have the set of VHS (if you still have a VCR player), on the VHS's are actually Dr. Atkins talking. I happen to still have his old VHS set but I don't have a VCR player anymore.

Yes Sheri. I remember Soul Train and American Bandstand?. I even have one of Richard Simons VCR's. But don't have a VCR player anymore.

I have no idea why nothing since last Sept. on Body Grove. But I bought one of her DVD's. There are 2 disks and 3 or 4 different sessions on each. They are very cool. I love it because it goes from one right into the next one. So you could keep dancing as long as you want in different styles. The one I bought is called "Dance Your Heart Out.

I noticed the latest video was mid-Sept. Any reason nothing recent?

Thanks Bobbiesocks-46 for replying, me too find it easy to track on S.P. tracker, but I calculated one particular recipe on both apps and found that carb manager showed lesser carbohydrates than SP tracker so I guess SP is better.

DRASADAF, I'm not real sure but, I was told a long time ago that SP tracker is not as accurate as some others. So if I had to guess, I would say carb manager would be better. I use SP tracker just because it's handy for me.

emoticon I can't eat a big 7 to 10 cups of salad. I have tried over and over. I made a 3 cup salad with my fat and protein today and could only eat half of it. And, I have fasted for over 23 hours. OMAD form 7:26 PM to 6:15 PM. I guess my stomach has shrunk. I have been having this problem ever since I started IF.

Does anyone else have this problem? I feel like I may need to go back to 16/8 but, I don't really want too. Because the OMAD benefits are so good for my body and I don't get really hungry and I'm sleeping better.

September is a big month for me this year. My BD and Wedding Anniversary is Sept. 19th, (yes the same day) and I'm having cataract surgery on the 2nd (right eye) and 30th (left eye). I'm not looking forward to the surgeries. emoticon Anyone else had that done?

1SHERILEEAZ, Thank you for that information, I was unaware. I agree I like to make up my own mind about things and not have them censored. Dr. Berg gives us a lot of his knowledge which I have never gotten from any Dr. I have ever seen and they charge a lot of money. Yes, I have bought some of Dr. Berg's products but I have never felt pressured to buy from him. The information he gives freely and we have all benefited from that.

On Apr 27, 2020, I posted a video by Dr. Erickson COVID-19 Briefing on Facebook that was removed by Youtube.

Let me start off by saying, I emoticon Dr. Berg.
I watched his youtube seminar on "Practical Keto" Very easy to understand.
Unfortunately, I looked at the comments, I was shocked to see that forums such as facebook, etc are banning him or any reference to his healthy keto advice.
They say he is in it just for the money.
Honestly, why so much sensorship?
I like to make up my own mind and not have someone "ban" something.
(just a little rant on my part... released some stress!! lol!)

I downloaded that app and it’s quite informative I must say.
I am sleeping deeply these days ,my Fitbit says good quality of sleep I am getting.
I am in 3+ ketosis today...and it was going towards 4+ but I didn’t want to jump to that so early so happy with 3+ emoticon

Snacking in between meals or eating more often throughout the day won’t “rev up” your metabolism to help you lose weight.
Snacking promotes weight gain because the thing it will “rev up” is your insulin – the hormone that makes you store fat.
But if you’re still hungry, turn this would be snack into a full meal so you’re not adding to your eating frequency.
The biggest perk that comes with keto is that it suppresses your appetite naturally.


Guilt and shame make you feel bad after a slip-up.
These negative feelings make you “let yourself go” in an attempt to make yourself feel better.
But if you forgive yourself, the bad feelings dissipate and you won’t feel the need to keep eating in order to feel better.

So instead of saying “What-the-hell”, try this …
It’s okay. I’ve been doing really well. And I sure-as-hell haven’t ruined my long-term goal.

It has been day 5 of IF and keto with OMAD and I dropped a kilo .
I feel better but still I have some cravings and now I have two days off and they seem to me a real challenge doing what I did during off days.
I am still in ketosis + today.
Let’s hope that I continue with everything.

I find this so interesting: Especially in regard to what the world is enduring with COVID-19.

Well, I guess I have gotten maintenance down pretty well now. All though I'm not at my goal weight, I have been maintaining between 170 and 166 for five weeks now. Most would call it a stall (and that is what it is) but I have learned earlier than I wanted to how to maintain my weight. I guess that's a good thing. emoticon

Once you decide for yourself to stop eating anything with sugar in it or that turns to sugar like starchy vegetables, bread, pasta, rice, etc. It's really pretty easy and if you can stick with it for a week you start feeling so much better and the weight starts coming down. That's when your Blood Sugar and all your labs get better and better.

It's a great feeling and you want to tell everyone that you have found the secret to losing weight and getting Healthier. emoticon

It took me a while to get used to having vegetables with eggs and bacon but that's an old hat to me now. I usually broil the 2 slices of bacon on parchment paper until crisp and scramble my 2 eggs with whatever I feel like cooking that day. Sometimes it's mushrooms and spinach or just a little cheese. I boil a pot of Brussel sprouts and keep them in the refrigerator and heat up 6 or so for my brunch. I usually have 1/2 of an avocado every day.

I only eat one meal a day (OMAD). I do 20/4 IF most every day and I very seldom stray from the basic bacon and eggs. I really love them so this lifestyle is perfect for me.

I have seen a lot of good Keto recipes but I really don't like to cook but if you're wanting some recipes here is a site that looks good to me.
