went into the kitchen this morning to make coffee and there it was.............. a little mouse ran across the floor. YUK Hoping its just one - and so I went and got some pebble stuff they eat - and either die or go back out to find water..................


NOT HAPPY ------------------- I cannot do a mousetrap. Its times like this I wish I didnt live alone. And now to figure out where he got in --------- and plug it up. I have a crawlspace and hope there are not more in there. Im a chicken at heart.


OK so - a friend of mine simply cut carbs and lost 7 pounds in about a month. No extra exercise - nothing - just cut most carbs. Now how simple is that - but so hard to do?

OK off to get a hair trim. have a great day all

finished some morning chores ------- and now headed out to walk to the gym ( 1.5 miles) do my workout 0 and then walk home. Thats a good workout for the day. Also using my kettlebells at home........... scale is cooperating because Im paying special attention to eating properl - lots of water - and that seems to make the scale go down.

Working out is going to have to be what gets rid of some of this belly flubber. Thats honestly my target.

SO tired today! Had to get to school today before 7:30 so that I could get a parking space in the parking lot. There's street cleaning in the middle of the afternoon today. Ate a good breakfast at school though: greek yogurt, blueberries and granola.

its amazing to me just how quickly that scale goes up and down depending on how you eat jHad 3 or 4 days of really lousy eating -------------------- and the scale jumped up - and then got my head back in gear - and started eating properly = and scale went right back down to what I will call my "regular weight". Ive always said - the scale is about what you eat - how toned and trim you look is about working out. Boy - this sure proves it to me..........


so go have a great day - off to the gym I go. emoticon

I did 30 min on treadmill due to rain this AM. Now the sun's out so will head outside for another 30 min.

Making slow progress with weight loss this week but the scale is finally moving in the right direction.

I did an hour of water aerobics last night! Slept like a log, too!! Rainy day today. Walking and stair climbing inside, pot luck dinner at my woman's club tonight. I'm making lentils and rice as a side dish!

What a beautiful day it's been today! I got some laundry done. Had a GF over for her birthday dinner last night, and I finished the dishes from that. Read the Sunday NY Times, and have got some knitting done. Have packed my bag for the gym for tomorrow. It's a great start!

Anticipating minor procedure on my leg tomorrow(last one) for Laser ablation. Might say I'm on my "last leg" (chuckle).
Will be limited to walking only with no strenuous exercise for 2 weeks. No heavy lifting that requires use of the legs.
Running is my thing. This hepls me do it.
Wish me luck!!

I teach in a huge school. It is the norm for me to walk over 5,000 steps just at work! Please it's a 4 story school, and we are all over the place, escorting kids to and from. I try to go to the gym 3 times a week for intensive cardio sessions. Right now it is mostly swimming and riding the recumbant bike.

Ran out of apples - need to go to the market this weekend!!

I got a 30 min walk in this morning. The weather was delightful - cloudy but warm, with a nice breeze. My afternoon walk will be on the treadmill I'm sure due to the approaching rain.

Hubby & I are taking our 10 year old puppy to the vet at 2:30 today. He was fine until last night - now there's something wrong. He's not himself. I pray that it's nothing too serious.

yucky day out there.............. I have a list of inside things to catch up and today just may be the day. Also going to go to the gym even though wed is usually my off day............. I have the will and the energy so may as well go.


still need to work on eating cleaner................... all this exercise wont make enough of a body difference if I dont sttart eating properly - AND I KNOW IT - so i just need to do it.

Took my grandson Dylan for a carriage ride today. It was a little chilly this morning but then it warmed up nice. We walked - rather I walked - for 90 min.

Altogether today I did 10,000 steps - thanks Dylan!!!!!

Nursing a bad tummy. Fed myself restaurant food and paid for it dearly.

Working out actually made me feel better(usually does) : )

Before SparkPeople.com I would have stayed in bed with the covers over my head and dragged this out for 2 days!!

kind of a brand new look on life --------------------- always starting over - so here I go again.

Stocked up on fruit and safe things to snack on......... still feeding some hurt emotions but at least I can nibble on good low cal - low carb stuff. My go to cheat is simple wheat saltine crackers for crunch and a little salt. and then plain air popped popcorn.

Ok so - getting to the gym at least 5 days per week........... good for my body and my head. Swinging my kettlebell - continuing with leg machines - and riding my bike about 50ish miles per week.

The battle against belly bulge................. still can grab a handful of belly fat - hmmmm

I only work 2 days a week but did it really have to be 2 of the muggiest days of the entire Summer??????? I work for a small company in the Oil Change Industry where I'm both business management & head cashier. And we work in " the elements " - there's no ac for us so today was a real challenge. I ran around demanding that the guys drink cold water - or I'd throw it at them - to try and cool them down. They opted to drink it - interesting!!! We decided that it would have been the perfect day to do another Ice Bucket Challenge but we didn't have any ice.

I didn't get going early enough this AM to take a walk outside & now it's too hot/humid. Thank goodness for my treadmill - I've done 30 min already and plan on doing more later.

So far my weekly & monthly challenges are going well - just hope I can stay committed.

goin to be a hot and humid one. A walking friend of mine wants to take a long walk this morning. Going to do it.................. and then this afternoon will get to the gym.
Wanted a snack last night and I ate a bowl of watermelon................. thats very good for me - because there were other goodies I could have eaten. I want to really challenge myself this time............................ and get the results Im looking for. Just want to trim down some body fat - and build some muscle.

emoticon Hi everyone!

My challenge this month is to get used to exercising within my heart rate zones. I'm going to start wearing a band that will sync with a fitness gadget, that will tell me which zone I'm working in. My goal is to do 3 min in Zone 1; 2 min in Zone 2; 1 min in Zone 3 and 1 min in Zone 4 - work myself backwards from 4 to 1 and then do it all over again, gradually building up to 5-6 times. I'll be doing this on a recumbant bike, starting at level 4 and gradually adding until I'm at level 12 in Zone 4. It's a more intense workout, and it targets burning fat vs burning just carb reserves. I have a lot of fat to lose!

Jazz - I like what you said about interest vs commitment. I have lots of interest but fall way short on commitment. I'll try to remember what you said for this new month.

I'm going to have 2 self challenges this month. The first is to raise my iron level by eating the proper foods. I discovered last month that my level is very low so I want to raise it without taking a supplement. My second challenge is to exercise 30 min 6 days a week. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but it is for me as I usually find lots of excuses not to do it at all.

I wish everyone lots of luck with their challenges so we can all have a great September!!!

There is a real difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something -you do it when its convenient. When you are committed to something - you make it a priority - no excuses - you get it done.

Think about where you are - in your fitness journey...........
