That's what I'm going to do is run/walk to the end. For me it's completion not the time. Good luck and just have fun!

I would say go for it and if you find you have to walk part of it that's fine. Do as much as you can without hurting yourself. I've done that. It's awesome to participate in and most have people that walk some too. Make sure to keep track of your time for future reference and watch how it improves as you train more. I love wearing the number on my chest and getting timed and it definitely keeps me motivated.

I started C25k back in February. I usually run 2 times a week on top of a 3 day per week circuit class. It is hard to fit it all in. As for June 13th I would pick something a little farther out if you want to run most of it, but pick one and focus on it. The day I covered the 5k distance mostly running was a big deal for me.

I'm on W2D2, with a nasty case of plantar faciitis /heel spur, but I've signed up for my first 5K on July 16th. I've got my running shoes, I'm icing my foot, I'm determined to do this! emoticon

LoLoBear1-DO IT! LOTS of people walk/run it. LOTS. There are sooo many different sizes and experience levels. Just finishing is an overwhelming thing. Just last year in May I completed my first 5k ever. I actually broke down after the finish line and bawled my eyes out.
Today I just registered for my first half marathon! If I can do it *lordy have mercy* ANYONE can!
Good luck all!
Jenny

ADKONKLE, how long have you been running? I'm not sure when I should make the leap to my first 5k - wait until the program is done or not? (I'm only on W3) Most 5ks around here are walk/run so I probably wouldn't have too much trouble completing it, just would adjust the balance between running/walking. There is a 5k run/walk on June 13th and I'm wondering if it's too soon for me.

Anyone want to comment on what do most people do out there?

Way to go! Accomplishing your first race is an awesome experience - make sure you enjoy every moment and don't get too caught up on running a perfect race! No matter what, it will be a PR so have some fun with it. :-)

So I officially signed up for my first 5k on Fathers Day. I know I can do the distance and I might even do it pretty fast for a chubby runner. When I started C25K this seemed a long way off, but now it is just around the corner and I'm excited. The only hard part will be getting out of bed and there on time on a Sunday morning.

Now the final push to be ready for June 20th.
