emoticon You did great. What you have to realize you are building up endurance a little bit more with each run. You might be slower at the beginning of the week - it does get easier all week too.

***UPDATE***

I did it!!! It didnt even seem that hard! I have no idea why week two seemed harder to manage than week 3. I even jogged a little extra during the cool down stage. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice to push on to the next week!

Thank you all for the advice, you have all been extremely helpful. I am going move onto W3D1 tomorrow or Friday, depending on when I can fit it in. I just completed W2D3 today and still found it tough, but since I was able to complete it successfully, I will move on and stick with W3 until I can complete all the days.

I have to echo CincyDora! If you can finish W2 then go ahead and start W3, you may have to repeat D1...but that's ok! You are still getting exercise!

Vee, I'm just a couple of runs ahead of you. My W2D2 was more than challenging. It really made me question whether I could continue. It wasn't the aerobic part as much as it was sore legs. Then I decided to try to understand why I felt that way.

I found a couple of factors. 1) I walked for 2 miles only 3 hours before my run. 2) I ran at 5 PM. Still way too hot out.

So, the next day I really took it easy. Totally took the day off from any exercise other than normal stuff. Did W2D3 on Sunday, early in the morning. It was so much better.

Just came in from W3D1. Surprisingly it wasn't that bad. Actually better than W2D2.

My suggestion is to think about factors that may have affected you today. See if you can alter them for the next time.

Best of luck.

You know you can do it. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ditto to what everyone else said! I was terrified of W4 - you have to run for FIVE minutes. :) But, it came way easier than I expected. I will say, though, that I did the W3 workout 5 times instead of just the 3. I think it helped!

Tons of great advice here! You'll do great and you'll surprise yourself with what you can accomplish. I found that slowing down just 0.2 mph made a huge difference in my endurance. Just keep trying!

I was also very afraid of W3 when I got there. But to psyche myself up, at the end of W2 I put on a peppy song on my running playlist that was just over 3 min long. I waited until I had 3 min left on the song and just said "run to the end of the song". I knew all the words to I ran and sang the song in my head. Before I knew it ... the song ended. So my running playlist has become my best friend. I put songs on it that I know the words to and that pep me up. Then it's more about the music than the ticking of the clock.

You can SO do this. And if you need to repeat... NO BIG DEAL! We ALL have our rough weeks. And remember, it's also a big mental thing. Your brain will be ready to quit before your legs. You'll be surprised at how much you can do!

Keep us updated on how you do! emoticon

Here's what I keep telling myself: it's not as though by not finishing each run segment I'm failing. I'm still getting exercise. So if I can complete day 3, why not move ahead to the next week instead of repeating the current week? If I can't complete day 1, I'll repeat it until I can make it through.

The 3 minutes weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be and I'm not as afraid of the 5 minutes in week 4 as I was last week. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to make it, but I'll lose nothing by trying.

I'm determined to aim for competency rather than perfection.

You can do it. Just ignore the desire to stop - slow down if you must be just keep moving. I just finished with W3D1. If you can't do it...just keep repeating it, until you make it. You will be surprised what your body will do for you.

emoticon IT MAY BE CHALLENGING AND YOU MIGHT EVEN HAVE TO REPEAT A DAY OR TWO OR THE ENTIRE WEEK OVER. I HAVE HAD TO REPEAT WEEK 7 SO MANY TIMES I CAN'T COUNT THEM ANYMORE. BUT REMEMBER I GOT TO WEEK 8 NOW BY NOT GIVING UP. SO KEEP DOING IT UNTIL YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH IT.

I finished doing 5 Week 2 workouts last Thursday, power walked a 5k on Saturday so I decided I better start my week 3 yesterday. I was also terrified and anxious about it. As I did it, I made it through the 90 seconds runs NO PROBLEM and the 3 minute runs, I made it to about 2.5 minutes and had to slow to my walk. It gave me hope that I can definitely work through it if I set my mind to it. I think I freaked myself out before I left. I will do W3D2 tomorrow and my goal is to go by myself (I go with a friend and I talk too much, I need to save my breathing) and they to push through the 3 minutes. I know I can do it!!! YOU CAN TOO! I will stay on week 3 until I feel ready. Don't let it freak you out. Do you listen to the Robert Ullrey podcast???

Hi everyone, I finished W2D2 yesterday. I found it to be challenging. The last two set of runs were def tough, just when I thought I was going to have to stop, the little voice came through the headphones informing me that the running segment had ended. I hope W2D3 is easier. I looked ahead to week 3 and boy, was that a mistake. I have struggled just upping the running an extra 30 seconds, how am I going to survive upping the running to 3 minutes? When do you guys know that you are ready for the next week? I am able to complete W2 workouts, so thats a plus, but I dont know if W3 is something I can tackle, I think part of it is mental. How do you guys work through the mental and physical hurdles?
