Putting this out there for anyone who's having issues updating your profile on the new My Spark Page. This is a BIG topic of discussion with the team leaders right now and many people are not happy with it. For better or worse, it's here to stay so you might as well know how to change things if you want to. Everything that we've had is still there. Some things are easier, others are more difficult.

Here's the biggest complaint.

If you've tried to change your profile information and received a "no html allowed" error, here's what's going on.

Apparently, when the programmers changed the format, (and yes, I am blaming the programmers) they inadvertently added html characters in the "other information" windows.

This is going to be a little tough to explain because I can't actually show you the symbols that you have to remove in order to save.

When you click "Edit text", you can update your story. This is also where they put the My Goals:, My Program:, Personal Information:, Other Information:, and Personal Signature: that used to be in the right-hand column.

What happened is there were "line break in text (carriage-return)" characters added to those windows when the format was changed. In order to save anything (because it's all connected now) you must go through each window and make sure you don't see anything looking like this. (here's the tough, description part)

It will probably be in italics.

In keyboard terms.
"the symbol above the comma"BR"the symbol above the period"

If you still have a question about what you're looking for, Google "what is the HTML element line break in text (carriage-return)" and it will show you what they look like.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to help or maybe one of the team, computer gurus will step up.
