We take 55 out of St. Louis and it takes us right into Memphis.

What is in Cape Giradeau? When we came back from Florida a couple of years ago, we came back through Sikeston, Mo. as we had heard of Lamberts and want to eat there. We did enjoy it....

Yes - we are having unseasonably warm weather. It is 58 degrees here right now. Such a lovely January and we are enjoying it while it lasts.

Do keep us posted about the job situation.

Take care and if you are in Western Tennessee, you are probably not too far from me.
We are just a little over 6 hours from Memphis.

I am off to go for a walk in the woods with DH and Miss Macki (my Chow). TTTL - have a blessed day.

Sunny,
Thanks for the prayers as they are always needed.. Where two or more are together let them bring it to the Father..
glad ya got to visit your dad, it is good for you to the time. trust me I lost my dad as his primary caretaker at home, and by the time he passed He wanted to go home.. sure I mourned and still miss him but there is also something about knowing he was ready.
I've heard from my son in Alton, Mo that Mo is having unseasonable warm weather.. are you in that area or are you to far north?
I'm in western TN and it was in the upper 50's today.
God Bless and have a great Friday.
Hugs back, sharon

Praying about your son's job situation. It's great that you are able to help him out some.

Went to Joy Circle this morning (indeed a blessing) then down to see Dad. He seems to be settling in. He was tired when I got there so didn't stay long. Bless his heart.

I do appreciate all of the support we have on this team. Thanks so very much.

Hugs, Sunny

Glad you were able to find a place to care for your dad.. I know that is a relief on you and your sister. Mennonites are good business people so you should little worries about the staff.
My son hasn't found a job, so for now he is trading things he owns or helping catch up on some of the neighbors repair for enough cash to pay the electric. I'm covering his vehicle insurance and phone (not to my husbands likeing) so there is a bit of tension right now.
Glad you have the women's group locally to help during this time. It is amazing how our faith can be a comfort during the care of our elders as they prepare to leave this earthly realm.
sometimes I long so strongly to see Jesus' face, I envy those that have gone before me. I know I'm not suppose to envy - but they are on streets of gold and I have a rough hole filled driveway..LOL..
Have a great evening - I'll be back on after dinner tonight..

Any news on a job for your son yet? Hope so!

While we were in Kansas, my Father had another stroke. He was sent to a Nursing Home for Rehab. The Rehab Center we wanted him to go to did not have a bed. They called yesterday and told Sis they had a bed. We went down and looked at it again and arranged for him to be transferred which happened today. We are so happy as the facility is owned and operated by Mennonites and they have a high standard and expect the best from their employees. We feel like it is indeed a blessing.

Take care and have a good day tomorrow. I am going to go to Our Women's Circle at Church then down to see Dad.

Blessedtobeme, you certainly have a lot going on. My thoughts and prayers will be with everyone during this time.

Philippians 4:6-7

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ.

Good Morning, Team. Today, DH and I will go down to my Sister's in Hannibal for Christmas with her and Dad. I am making a Butternut Squash Casserole to go with the dinner.

DH and I made homemade pizza from a recipe we found on Spark. While the Whole Wheat Crust was OK, I think the next time we will make a regular crust.

Take care and do have a GREAT day.

Two gifts (Fire Pits) to wrap and we will be finished.

Kid's Christmas program at Church this weekend so looking forward to that. It is always so precious.

We leave in 6 days for Christmas in Kansas with our Son, DIL and the Grandkids.

Off to the treadmill and the bike.

I do love Halibut and also Cod & Ahi Tuna which I find at Sam's Club. We have fish at least once a week. I also like it baked.

If the weather is nice, I will fry the fish out on the patio. We put an Iron Skillet directly on the grill and it frys up nicely. The basket works well. We just spray it with non stick olive oil spray and also coat the fish with a little olive oil. We also like Salmon on the grill.

This thread is making me fish hungry. I think I will get out some Tilapia for tomorrow night.

Take care and nice talking emoticon with you.

Do have a Fab Friday and a great weekend.

I started to get one of the fish baskets for the grill and my husband talked me out of it.. he does it in the non-stick aluminum foil. we use olive oil for almost everything.. doesn't work well for baking things and doesn't fry okra right..LOL... we hardly ever deep fry but are convinced olive oil is for marinades, pan frying or saute ing - but just doesn't work like good ole vegtable oil for deep frying in the summer..
My husband doesn't let me fry in the house so I rarely deep fry anything except in the little fry daddy in the garage.
Cat fish is big around here, but I'd rather eat different fish. Have you tried halibut... WOW we had it in Alaska and it is a chunck of white meat fish.. yum yum..

I love crappie and they are fun to catch. I use Andy's Red Fish Coating (30 calories for a Tbsp.) then I saute the fillets in Olive Oil. I always have Olive Oil left in the pan so it doen't absorb into the food like other oils.

DH got us a fish basket for the grill last year and I also love the fish on the grill.

I got up early and am now headed to the bike as we have lots on the agenda today. Hope you all have a great day too.

DH and I ordered a couple of Fire Pits for two of our Sons and Lowes called yesterday to say they were in so we will go pick them up.

Do have a very good day.

A spot is a type of bluegill.. sorta a flat fish with a dark spot by the gill. sorta like a redear or crappie in shape. pond, river type fish.. so many different names I'm sure they proably go by other names too.. Just know I like to catch em.. even sometimes filet the sides and fry em.
Although since Sparking I'm very limited on anything fried.

I now live in western tn in Big Sandy just a little west of the TN river. 50 minutes from Jackson and 1 1/2 from Nashville. We love to canoe the eleven point and fly fish for trout.

We live North of Hannibal, Mo and just West of Quincy, Illinois. I retired from Blessing Hospital in Quincy June of 2010.

Our Son/DIL like to canoe down at 11 Point River.

How do you like Tennessee? Where do you live in Tennessee?
I love the area around Chattanooga. We have been there several times
and DH would love to make a trip back there.

Nice to meet you and thanks for the nice welcome.

Hi Team. I am Sunny and new to the team. Nice to join you on our Spark Journey to fitness, health and weight loss.

I live in the Country just West of the Mississippi River in Northeast Missouri. We have lived here almost 12 years and love it here. We have 48 Acres, mostly timber but also have a couple of fishing ponds we stock.

Nice to meet you all. I am off to finish my biking for the day.

Hugs, Sunny

Got to ride in the Christmas parade but the camera SD card got zapped by static or something and couldn't be read by the computer or the camera..

We also have unseasonable weather here. So we have some large trees that we are sawing before it freezes. I am not riding my horse on Sunday which I don't like. But am able to squeeze a run in the morning. Have many hunters next door so I need to be careful during the week.

You are doing so well! Between helping my husband with the new steer calves and catching up on housework that has been neglected over harvest, my exercises have fallen by the wayside. The continued nice weather means I spend every minute outdoors that I can before a blustery Iowa winter sets in. emoticon

I'm busy here trying to get my house in order, before my company arrives. Making a point to do some strength exercises and get that water in.

What about the rest of you? What does your day look like?
