I got my IUD removed monday 9/14 and started my period today 9/17. I wasnt really expecting it so soon... It has been quite heavey but no cramping so far... I'm kinda anxious to know if I'm actually going to start ovulating again this month. Not real sure how this all works.

I also had rough pregnanceies with both of my boys. My first i had preterm labor but eneded up delivering 11 days beofre his due date and everything was fine.. With my second my dr put me on weekly progesterone shots at 16 weeks to help not go into preterm labor and then i started dialating at 25 weeks i was 3 cm so i had a cerclage put in.. I then started having contractions at 28 weeks so i was put on a muscle relaxer that i had to take every six hours... then after all that my water boke spontaniously at 32 weeks.. they stopped labor to get 2 steriod shots in me for his lungs then i didnt go back into labor for 2 weeks.. he was 6 weeks early 5lb 11oz he had an apgar of 0 when he was born and spent his first 3 weeks of life in an incubator learning how to breath, control body temp, and eat.. I'm hoping since i dont work and just stay home now that the next pregnancy will be easier... especially if i lose more weight beofre then...

Thats how I am too..just gonna see if it happens or not, not be obsessed about tracking when IM ovulating..I kinda know + or - 2weeks after 1st day of period...
Both of my pregnancies were really tough! I got pre-eclampisa really bad with my 1st pregnacny my daughter had a true knot in her cord and only weighed 3lbs 2oz even though she was born at 36 1/2weeks...so only conisidered premie by 3days... And with my 2nd pregnancy I was high risk for premature labor becuase of all my complications with the 1st one and sure enough started getting really bad braxton hicks at 5months..ended up going to er a few times..just really hard..But exactly totally worth it seeing how they are now!!
Good luck to you and hopefully neither of us have a hard time this time around!! :) let me know if you ever want to talk!!

I'm sort of in the same situation now! I had my IUD removed in april (after having it about 1 1/2 years). My husband and I just recently started talking seriously about ttc #2, and I'm kind of worried. But, I hope that since I've had it out for a while, everything will be ok. And I was totally pre-occupied with ttc the first time, and now I'm feeling more relaxed, and we're just going to go off BC (I use the Nuvaring) and see what happens! I'm excited, but terrified (my first pregnancy was very hard). But, I know it will be worth it in the end every time I see my daughter's beautiful little face!

I have had really light periods...when I first had it in I bled for about 3weeks 1 week off then 3 weeks on.. So I hated it at first but then after the first 2-3months like that then I would have just a really light 3day period, and the period before I had it taken out actually I spoted for only 2days and that was it....I had that period on Aug 5th got iud out Aug 17th, and just got my period yesterday Sept 1st...really bad cramping and really heavy....
Let me know how yours goes!! :)

I had my mirena IUD removed on Aug 17th...And we wanted to start trying right away..the dr. recommended we wait until I get a normal period to make sure the uterus lining is built up again and strong otherwise there is higher risk for miscarriage...I normally get my period the 1st week of the month so Im keeping my fingers crossed I still get it at the same time..but she said it could take up to a year! before I actually get normal and get pregnant..I had my IUD in for just over 2years..
I had no problems getting prego with my first 2 kids so hopefully this one is the same way..keeping my fingers crossed
Good luck to you!!

I can't say from experience but I would assume that it will depend on which type you had and also on how your body reacts to it. I would suggest that you could check with your doctor since they may be able to give you a general idea of how long it takes to be removed from your body.

I conceived about 4 months after having it removed, but we lost the pregnancy before the 8th week. I can tell you that it had nothing to do with my IUD, it was from a medication that my docs told me was fine but has known issues with causing a weak heart in a fetus (lexapro incase you are wondering).

GL, we are crossing our fingers that this is our month!

Oh, and my menstral cycle was normal with in a month (I also had mine in for about 18 months).

I will never give up... I will just keep searching for my diamond in the rough.

My husband and I have decided to get my IUD removed. We arent going to be trying to get pregnant but we arent not trying if you know what I mean. He doesnt want me obsessed with charting and timing we just want to have fun with it. The way I guess it's supposed to be. How long has it taken ya'll to concieve after having an IUD removed.. I had the Mirena IUD for 18 months if that makes any difference. Thanks...
