DTSOBEL – I’ll tell you “what’s the point” about throwing in the towel and going back to your old ways – YOU ARE THE POINT!! You have mentioned on your SparkPage that you fail – well with that there to look at and with that mindset, you WILL fail. Instead, turn it around and say “I am a success!” With that belief, you WILL succeed. Your hubby seems to want to sabotage you on the one hand, but on the other he is “proud of” you. How about YOU being proud of you, and doing this FOR YOU! If he isn’t going to get this stuff for you (I gather with your work and school, he is the “house-husband”? Are you not able to get some of these basics you require on your way to or from work, or to or from school? He’ll get the message after a while. Is he the one who does the cooking? IF so , perhaps you could give him a give of a cook book – a healthy one, but don’t say it’s healthy! Now, the other point is – you have had some success – you are lighter than when you started this – as I said before, this translates to “you are SUCCESSFUL!”

Linda – perhaps you hubby is an A$$ because he hasn’t come down yet from the worry, and it may not have sunk in properly yet that the cyst was benign. Often those just disappear of their own accord. Just as we have times when we have these emotional turmoil’s, so to do our other halves. It is a case of taking a breather, thinking to yourself, well he HAS had a bit of a worry on his mind lately, and then give him the benefit of the doubt, so to speak.

CPCONE – have you had Andrew weighed BEFORE a feed and then straight after. Sometimes it may appear that they are or aren’t getting enough when the opposite is true. I had your problem in reverse with mine. They would feed for a couple minutes literally, and then stop and you couldn’t get them to feed anymore. It wasn’t until the nurse weight my second baby before and after that we found the problem. He was getting TONS in that short time. I was like the proverbial old cow! My daughter’s first baby wasn’t getting any! He was about 6 weeks old before he even GOT to his birth weight! This is something I strongly suggest you try. They are weighed with the same nappy on before and after. Hope you are able to get it sorted pretty quickly.

Kris

Hey CP! Been missing you. Just remember this won't last forever - there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Your milk may need some additional nutrients for Andrew. If you're not eating that could cause a problem and make him hungry. Is he old enough yet to give just a tad of rice cereal mixed with breast milk to help fill him up? Check with the pediatrician. I fed mine when they were quite young and just demanded more. Why not get DH to handle him for a couple of hours and you take a NAP! You'll feel less tired and that may also help with the milk issue.

CpCOne- I think you are doing a wonderful job with your baby, it is so hard to breastfeed when they just don;t seem to be satisfied. SOunds like you are having such a time and I feel for you. Makes my problems seem really small because I know I couldn't deal with a baby anymore. They turnedout alright even though I ended up in the hospital so much. Those were the toughest years for me. I know what your going through. Just leave him cry himself to sleep once in a while, he'll be fine or can't you because he has to eat so much to gain weight I suppose. THat is hard....

OK after reading here, I don't feel so bad. Still upset, but not as much.
Still trying to get the baby to gain weight instead of getting taller... Been talking to the lactition several times a day and I got yelled at tonight for calling her again. But honestly, what do you do when the baby wants to be attached 24/7? I have things that I must do too. I am so tired, and till about an hour ago, he didn't want to be away from me. Went to pay one of the two last bills and he had a fit cause he had to be in the carseat and couldn't eat... Told to just let him eat as much as he wants to for tonight and we will weigh him tomorrow. I haven't even been able to really eat today, got the last 1/2 cup of salad and a bowl of ice cream. Had made myself a bowl of cereal this morn, but I spilled about 1/2 of it when he got fussy. Had to clean that up as soon as he calmed down and let me put him down just long enough to clean it up. Well, I better get off here cause he is giving me the "Evil" eye. Apparently he thinks that me being on here with more than one window open kills the net connection. GRRR! emoticon emoticon

I'm trying to think of positive things like the day I had was fun, although I totally ate way too much of the wrong things, plus desert.and popcorn with butter. I will say that we went to the worst movie I think I have ever seen, I picked a real winner. It was Tyler Perrys Why did I get married? I thought it was a comedy but it was fighting and hitting of a woman, bunch of couples doing this fighting and affairs and a death. IT was bad. But we laughed about how bad it was afterwards. Anyways it was a fun day and they treated me real special like always.

Yes I know the routine well, we just butt heads because he is such a control freak and I don't want to be controlled but most of the time I don't respond but I really needed to make my case tonight on why I actually tried to fix the problem myself even though he's probably right I don 't know what I'm doing but I want to try to solve it so I can use my computer.I will give him a little credit for not getting upset when he read that I was telling everybody about his nuts.I should have been faster on the delete stuff

Well, since you've been married 30 years you probably expected this because it is part of his pattern. I had a similar problem with my DH - he wanted to control everything - and I just ignored his outbursts. Not easy, but he finally (took a couple of YEARS) got the message that I wouldn't 'fight' and became mellow most of the time.

Do yourself a favor and be kind to you. Don't engage in the drama.

Good luck - stay positive. You deserve to feel good for your birthday.

First he was really mad and yelling at me for using my computer even though he told me not too.So anyway I thought I had fixed it because my company that you get the internet from detected a problem and told me what to do so I downloaded it and solved the problem which I did but he was just upset that I fixed it myself because I really don't know what I'm doing he says. Anyway he's over it but it still bothers me alot. he can be such an ass.Plus the other thing is
He's walking around saying he wants them to just cut off his testicles because he's upset he has to live with this cyst . Now if I have to put up with that all night and who knows how long he'll be whining.

Oh my god is my husband ever being such a total ass tonight, I could just leave but nowhere to go. I can hardly believe him and what he puts me through. To think I was even worried about him just astounds me right now. I can hardly believe it. Plus he keeps whining like he's having so much pain or something and it just can't be that bad. thats not what I'm upset about though.

Dear Tova! Cheer up! You have accomplished so much already it would be a shame to 'throw in the towel' now. A bad day is just that! A day only...and tomorrow is a better one for sure. Your efforts have been good and strong. Never give up. This is your life and happiness we're talking about.

Figure out what triggered these negative feelings and ban that to outer limits of the universe.

"What's the use?" You are a lady deserving of success and you CAN achieve that. You are on the way to reaching your goals. Its not easy, but it is worthwhile.
Do you take meds? Have you taken them today? If you were scoring this feeling would it be a 5 (for dreadfully sad) or a 1 (just a blip on the screen)? If its really bad consider contacting your therapist for a bit of support.

There are people here who care, and I'm one of those. Smile dear! This isn't a permanent emotion you are experiencing.

There you go! So happy to hear your news and sure DH is too! Now be sure DS knows too so he doesn't worry either. Another one of those times when we learn why worrying about something we can't do anything about is a waste of energy and emotion. So glad you are so happy. That's a wonderful state of mind.

Enjoy the movie and lunch today! Celebrate! A real reason to spread it out over several days. You and DH have TWO things to party about Saturday.

Woo-hoo! That's fanstastic news!

As for your kids and your birthday: don't mention theirs next time. Then, when they squawk, give them the big eyes and say innocently, "Well, since you didn't mention mine, I thought birthdays didn't matter to you any more."

I guess my computer problem may be back. My husband told me to stay off here but I don't want to. I don't like doing what he says. Kinda stubborn like that. Looking forward to the rest of the week. I'm going today with my mom and sis out for my 50 birthday celebration with them. We are going to see a movie and go out to eat lunch at a restaurant we like. They have to drive over an hour to get here so thats why I don't see them as much as I want to. Then tomorrow I have my diabetes 3 mo. check up and Friday my hubby is taking me off on my actual birthday and Saturday I'm going shopping and out to lunch with my bestfriend and only one So will be busy but I will still have time to be one here too. Probably won't hear from my kids for my birthday because they are boys and they don't think of things like that. I still would like to hear from them. I know If I forgot their birthdays I would hear about that.,but I would never do it. SO everybody have a great day, The sunshine is FINALLY out today am I'm always glad for that, when the sun doesnt shine I don't shine, because of my S.A.D. Until later Have a good one I'm praying for all of you......

Good morning Linda! Glad you are able to use the computer. I doubt there will be any long lasting effects, especially since DH gave it his attention last night. I rarely open an e-mail unless I really know who its coming from but they say some of these things look like they're coming from someone you know. I'll be glad when there are more clearcut laws to address the level of inappropriate use of the internet. I don't think I'd bother being 'bummed' about this. The use of our computers is what it is and I prefer to have lovely contact with my friends on a regular basis.

Have a good and productive day, with my wish for your success!

Good Morning All, Just letting you all know another issue has gotten me bummed out. Yesterday I clicked on a email that looked like something I always get and turns out Its from organized crime or who knows where probably stealing my world from under me. THankfully my hubby stayed up late trying to see what he could do about it. I heard on the news after I did it not to do it but of course I had already done it so I feel really bad. Don't know if they will be able to steal my money or what they'll do. Not even real sure what to do about it. Last night I had to leave my computer unplugged but my hubby said I could me on here today. I thought I wouldn't be able to use it for a week so thats good anyways at least it wouldn't leave you wondering what happened to me. I would have felt bad for that.
Kris, lets just start prohibition again it wouldnt bother me any. Plus it would get all the drunks off the road. Maybe. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Good morning all! Hope this finds you in the midst of a good day and coping well with the challenges of the day. My day is going well so far, as I awoke earlier than usual from a deep sleep and am really tired and not awake fully yet. I'm sure this will pass soon and will make my mark on this lovely day. I believe a few prayers are in order for all our teammates. Also for our friends in the UK and Ireland as they are being battered by high winds and really bad weather.

Good Morning All,

Kris, I pray that your DH will take a different road than drinking. It doesn't make things go away permanently, just for the immediate time. I can know how you must feel. I grew up with an alcoholic for a mother and Sister. I fortunately did not take the same road, but I saw the results of it. It was not pleasant at all. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts and hope he will stop and make things different.

I hope everyone gets to enjoy this beautiful weather. It has been in the high 60's, hope it stays that way.

I wish you all the BEST!

Your Friend DOT emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Best wishes to all!

Hiya Kris- hope your DH can find other things to occupy his spare time. Alcohol is such a sneaky devil. My dad went thru horrible depression before he retired & was hooked on pills. But after he quit working he started to come back to life. Some people hate retirement -others hate working. Hope this is the case for your husband. emoticon

Stay calm and carry on.

Linda – you will be fine! Just take a deep breath and then practice proper breathing techniques to help you get thru the weight.

Dot – I hope that your PT went well.

MARYANNN30 – I sympathise. I often used to have major problems at that time of month. I can remember often fainting, and suffering extreme pain, that I need to be taken to the Dr for a jab. I recall before hubby and I were engaged, we were at his parents’ house. I had JUST got my monthly that a.m. and was in a lot of pain. I went outside to tell him that I wasn’t feeling well, and when I came in I passed out on the floor. When I came to, his father was leaning over me saying to hubby’s mum – “she must have the same thing as me!” I heard his mum say, “I don’t think you’ve got this, Dad!” I had quite a snigger later thinking about it - poor old fella. Anyway, (my now) hubby carried me to the car and took me to the Dr for a pain jab. Curling up with a warm wheat pack or hot-water bottle often helps ease the cramps. Fortunately it has gone on a permanent holiday – I can’t say I miss it, either. I always found that when my monthly was due, if there was chocolate around, it sure wasn’t for long. Boy, could I hoe thru’ it! That was the ONLY time I used to eat chocolate. Now if it is in the house I hear it calling to me, and calling and calling, until I answer it and silence it – IN MY TUMMY :-)

Today is hubby's first day of not working. It'll be interesting to see if he STOPS putting casks of alcohol on the tab, now. I told him this a/noon that he is NOT to - mind you I have told him that many a time before and I have a feeling it is a case of pigs will fly first, before he listens!

Kris xx

Marianne, Sorry to hear your having a bad day. Rest assured you are not alone!! I hope you have a better evening. As far as the eating goes maybe a little exercise would help wear off some of those calories and make you feel a little bit better. Good luck

I always hated the monthly 'visitor' for just the same reason you're feeling crampy and crabby. It just seemed to insinuate itself into my just fine world. Hope you feel better soon. Try staying strong on the food thing. If you need food eat a healthy dinner and have a bit more than usual. Get your rest and try a heating pad on your abdomen for relief from the cramps.

Try grabing a healthy snack instead of something you might gain weight from. Make sure you drink all your water today. And if you do give to something unhealthy follow with something healthy. Don't lay a heavy guilt trip on yourself if you do eat the wrong thing just start over from there. emoticon

Vicki, You have such a charming, uplifting attitude. Lord let some of that rub off on me. I got my meds today and took them too so will see how it goes.Got supper in the crockpot, a turkey breast so don't have to cook for awhile. That always makes me smile. I think I'm doing a little better today. Got some cleaning done so that feels good. Hope everybody is doing great. Till later.....

Monday, Monday - just love it! An opportunity to view my world as bright and fresh and new!

Hope this finds each of you coping well and making your mark on this day. Use your skills to overcome, no matter what the disappointment may be.

Linda - take it one day at a time. You are moving in the right direction and just need to slow down and see it. Your birthday celebration tomorrow or Wednesday should be great. If your sister can't make it by all means plan a get together with Mom. I know I delight in every opportunity to have time focused on one of my children. I love the lot of them, but its nice to get to chat just about them and me. Put a smile on kiddo! This is your birthday week. Everyday you are a bit better than the day before. Believe! By now you should have picked up your meds and are back on the road to feeling better.

Good Morning All,

Just stopped by to say hi to you all. Hope you all get to enjoy the nice weather. I have to go to pool physical therapy today for 45 minutes, before I go I am going to exercise on my recumbent bike for 15 minutes. I hope that it will help for me to lose weight. I have to pay the bills today.

I wish you all the BEST!

I'm up but not for long! It is 2150hrs (9:50pm) here - we just finished daylight savings here this w/end and I haven't gotten used to it yet so am off to my bed for a few zed's (we don't call a "z" a "zee" here - LOL.

I hope you have a better day, too, and I am sure that once that Therapy bit is over, you will. I am sure, also, that you will feel a weight off your shoulders.

Hey all. Got my net back.
Found out on the 30th, that daughter isn't coming home for good till AFTER PUBLIC school lets out next month. Meanwhile she is coming home for the full weekends. Friday to Sundays. Baby is doing fine, hopefully starting to gain weight.

That is good.
