Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. I haven't caught up on all of the posts, but see we have several newcomers. emoticon !

Bob - Just want you to know that we're thinking of you through this difficult time. emoticon

As for me, my PET Scan has actually been scheduled for the 18th at 1:00 and I was told not to eat for 4 hours before it. I can have up to 32 oz. of water though. That's kind of an inconvenient time, but what can you do? I won't get the results until the 25th. Here's hoping to really be declared cancer free!

I also have been super surprised at the support I've gotten for my Relay for Life goal (a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society). I'm trying to raise $150 for July's event and I've already gotten $115. I couldn't be more pleased! :)

I've been working on homework a lot and am just aggravated by memory stuff, but I am using tricks/suggestions I've gotten from others. I'm hoping that once my activity picks up, that might help. My first full exercise class is Tuesday (tomorrow - well technically today since I woke up and can't fall back to sleep).

Best wishes to all! emoticon

Hi Jane you are so correct it is so nice to have a place to go where people understand. The saddness is hard for people to get a grasp on they always want to know WHY it takes time and practice to find that answer that is for sure. Just know that we are here and you can just talk away.

Hello, I haven't really participated in this team since I signed up for it, but I'd like to say hello (I know this isn't the introduction forum, but since I'll just say hello here).

I'm not really having a bad day, I just suddenly started feeling sad, which happens to me sometimes. And most people I know don't really know how to respond to that. They ask me what's wrong, and I just tell them I feel funny, and then they want me to explain, but I can't explain. It's just like, I feel sad, and I don't know why. It's like I did something, or didn't do something, and I can never figure it out.

Hi group, been a couple of days since i been in here. Don't see many posts. Didn't read any of them Im in a hurry. but when I get a chance I will go through them to see what everyone is into. I hope everyone is doing o.k. or at least a little better. I am doing o.k. or at least no worse, and actually getting in some exercise to. Back on my eliptical machine, and doing lots of spot exercises at work, squats, side bends, lunges. things are getting a little bit firmer. but still ready to get outside and walk and try to jog the trails again.
Bout to make another dental appointment to have another tooth pulled as I broke another piece off., Don't want to but i better before it starts hurting. Oh why why why do we have to have teeth, lol.
Went out with my new friend again this weekend, and had another wonderful time, still waiting for the other shoe to drop, he just seems to nice. Maybe its just me, but after what i been through is hard to see the silver lining in anything, especially relationship, but I am really trying. No pressure from him to take it to the next level, he says when i am ready he hopes it will be him i take that step with. hmmmm see what i mean about to good to be true. lol.. is there really good ones still out there. ??

Any way will try to make it here again tomorrow and read the posts to see how everyone is doing.
Thank to all and to this room. Where we can say what we feel and not be judged. and to know that we are not alone. I love this room,

Ashley - my heart goes out to you and to your cousin and family. Having such a young child so very sick just isn't fair, but unfortunately there isn't much we can do, apart from be there for the little one and provide as much love and support as is possible! It is good that they are involving hospice - they provide so much help for ALL the family!

AMANDABANANA80 - there are a few things which COULD be going on:
1. Have you been eating a healthy diet - balanced with lots of fruit and veges, and quality protein? These can actually HELP our energy/concentration levels and depression etc. and increase the iron levels in your body.

2. Going for regular little walks can actually help improve energy levels, concentration, depression etc. It helps to oxygenate your body, too.

3. What is your breathing technique like? Put one hand on your lower abdomen and the other on your chest. Concentrate on focusing on the hand moving in and out! Which one is it? It SHOULD be the lower hand. IF it is the upper one, then a few times a day, do that simple exercise, and ensure that it is the lower one. This way you will be taking more oxygen into your body, so it will benefit by having more circulating including to your brain.

4. Do you think that perhaps it might be time for a visit to your Dr for a medication review, and also some simple bloods to see if something else is going on - like low iron?

Feeling very down today, I couldn't concentrate in any of my classes because I'm so tired and I have absolutely no energy. I should be making supper right now but I don't even have the energy to do that. It's getting harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning because I just want to stay there forever.

Kris- I'm not sure about what the Social Worker can do for me. I mean we're talking about a town that's in the stone age of thinking. Yakima is place of cheepskates. Places for small group of people to meet seems impossilbe. I'll ask but I don't think it'll work. As for artists. They ones around here are solotary. I sometimes wish I could go someplace and draw with other artists around. But there isn't any here in good old Yakima. Sometimes the backwardness of this town really bites.

I went walking today. I think we did pretty good. I pushed mom ok. The speed bumps were a challenge though. I had to turn mom around and back over. But other than that it was a good walk. Tomorrow I have to go DSHS and have my interveiw to keep my benifits. My sister is talking me. I told her is I didn't get my walk in she's going walking with me. She laughed and said ok. I think that means we're going to the Greenway to walk, which is ok cuase its usually has pretty sceenary. So here's hoping.

Hello All,

Loseing4me1, I am so sorry to hear about your cousins boy, That is just aweful. Cancer doen't care who it attachs. I am just so sad for you, It is a very hard thing to have to deal with, My heart goes out to you. I will say some prayers for the both of you, Please keep posting.

Lisa, it is very hard when an alcoholic doesn't want to be helped. She will have to do things herself. It would be better if she moved closer to her work and her childs school. Hopefully she will come to her senses and seek help and follow it. I wish you all the best and send you hugs. Please keep us informed on what happens. We are here for you.

Kris, I am so sorry that you are not able to sleep well. I can understand about all the noise. It is very hard to sleep with a lot of noise around. Just a suggestion, can you listen to a mild music, either from a radio or use some headphones. That way you can fall asleep with the music and not the noise. I know that the music is another type of noise, but if it is soft and soothing it might be ok. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Hope you will be able to get some sleep soon.

Lizzie, thank you so much for the concern. I have to go and see them tomorrow and find out what the next step is. I think it will be going to see the surgeon who will be doing it. It is suppose to snow again starting tonight into tomorrow. I hope they don't cancel on me again. I am really anxious to have it put in.

Hope all is ok with you, and enjoy your week.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

I didn't sleep worth crap last night. I swear I might of slept a total of 3 hours. It was horrible. My head is killing me today and I feel like I could pass out at any moment :-( I really wish that I could go back home and crawl in bed even for an hour!

I have a lot on my mind. My cousions little boy has been fighting brain cancer for almost 3 years now and he is only 7. This weekend they called in hospice. Its not looking good at all. It totally breaks my heart. Cancer totally sucks and even more when it affects such a young kid. This little boy is such a fighter but its not looking good. emoticon

Dot - no haven't gotten caught up on my sleep yet:-( There is always something disturbing me - usually my hip, but sometimes noises outside (cat fights etc.) and then Scruffy yelling her head off at things, too:-(

LISANANCY - I hear you re your daughter and the alcohol. The thing is, there are some things to consider. An alcoholic is often NOT prepared to give it up completely. They usually are under the misapprehension that they can just cut back (doesn't usually work like this:-( The other thing is, that often it is actually medically UNSAFE to give it all up at once! Often they need to be weened off it slowly - baby-steps just like we start off with our healthy lifestyle journey with baby steps. What is the medication she has been given. One type causes a person to be sick (usually) if they drink while on it, and the other reduces their cravings for it! I hope that she is being closely monitored by a Counselor who specializes in this, and also a Dr (preferably Psychiatrist) re the medication! Here the counselor works in conjunction with a Psychiatrist! Also, you mention "If we suggest any help for her drinking we are attacked." You really need to walk a very fine line here, because you are her mother, not her counselor. You also suffer from depression yourself, so really aren't emotionally strong enough to even subconsciously take this "counselor" role on! Instead, just focus on being her mother, and just listening to her rather than "suggesting." I go to CADS, which is our Community Alcohol and Drugs service. My hubby is the drinker! CADS is similar to Al-anon (for the family) and AA (for the alcoholic) but I have a 1 to 1 rather than group! Often we talk about everything else BUT and that works fine for me, because it is an outlet and if I need the support or input I get it - including for other facets of my life re "emotions" etc.

Considering there is tension between your Daughter and your Husband, it would probably be better for all concerned if she were able to get an apartment nearer her work and child's school! She would still need to be monitored. It will also help to make her accountable for herself and her child. There is no reason why you couldn't keep tabs on them, tho', but you would all have more breathing space! BIG hugs for you xx

Lizzie - THANK YOU - you REALLY are sweet :-)

LADYDUO - have you thought about asking a Social Worker or similar if there is somewhere that you can go - a small group - so that you can start to make new friends and mingle with others in a safe environment? It just may help to reduce the anxiety problems. You love your art work - is there an art club somewhere that you can go to with like-minded people. They don't have to like the same style of art as you, but it IS a starting point!

Kris

Ladyduo, I do have a slight understanding of your fear. I wouldn't' want to to bars either. What about church? There is usually a ladies group that does things together such as making quilts or making things to sell for charity. Just a thought. Big virtual hugs to you! Lizzie

Lizzie- My big problem is poeple scare me to death. I'm so afraid of talking to someone I can't use the phone. There's no place in Yakima to meet anyone except the bars and I'd have a panic attack if I did that. Things look so hopeless for me.

Hello, Everybody! I go back to work tonight. I am still sneezing and blowing, but am much better.

Terri, I am glad that your husband is continuing to show improvement. Soon, you will be back into the groove at work. Congratulations on your loss!

Ladyduo, it sounds like you reached a great compromise with your mother. I am sure if she was hungry while shopping, the candy was grabbed without thinking. Is there anywhere you can go in your town to meet people? I am somewhat shy and have forced myself to intoduce myself to people when I go places and events. I have made some nice friends that way and met a lot of interesting people. Just a thought.

Kim, WAY TO GO! It always feels good when we conquer a task. You showed great problem solving skills too when the instructions were wrong.

Julie, you are truly a winner! I hope the news continues to be good. I encourage you to be patient with yourself as far as the return of memory goes.

TTMILTONJ, we all have times we stumble. The trick is to get back on track with the next meal or snack. Every time we eat well, we make progress toward a healthier life. You can do this. I suggest you take it one meal at a time. Each time you choose according to your food plan is to your credit.

MCAMOMTO3, the same thoughts go out to you too. You can really rock this.

Bob, I hope you are feeling better. I know it is tough not being able to eat, but you are a strong person. If surgery can be avoided, it is worth the days without eating or drinking. That said, I hope they let you start back on food soon. Big virtual hugs to you!

Lori, whatever the cause of your sadness, I hope it improves quickly for you. I hope your heart was lifted with ringing bells at church this morning. Big virtual hugs to you!

TUDESKI, it is nice to see you join us.

Dot, I hope things are progressing with the paper work for the placement of the pain device. In the mean time, please stay safe and warm.

Kris, continuing pain can really sap the energy right out of you. Add the heat and humidity of summer to the mix just adds to the misery. I hope you can get some relief soon. Big virtual hugs to you! And a big thank you for all you do for us here!

Lisanancy, you are welcome here! This is a safe place to share. Right now you are really facing a tough situation. Unfortunately, your daughter must seek help on her own. All you can do is make sure your grandson is safe and not enable your daughter's drinking. You may want to try AlAnon to protect your own mental health. My heart goes out to you. Please feel free to come back here to share anytime.

Lizzie

I don't know how to deal with my daughter's drinking.
She has now left her husband, who has a total control nature, and has returned home. I am so ever grateful that she is here but things only seem to get worst. My husband is not loving and understanding and in fact is a bully. I think she knows she has a problem. She did go to the doctors and has some medication to reduce the drinking but it looks like she is not willing to give it up entirely. My grandson is here with us crying. She has to make some decisions today to get an apartment to be near her work and school. Our home is a great distance to her work and school.
I try to talk to her but she has threaten me to go to a hotel. She doesn't want to be in the same situation of attacks here as she was with her husband.
I am praying for strength , a positive attitude, a loving heart, to have patience with my husband and not start to hate him for his attitude. I am sure he must be hurting too.
I know tomorrow will be better but today I am crying from a broken heart. I have fought some sort of depression all my life and now to see this being repeated in my daughter's life is just too much for me today. It will be better, It will be better. It will be better. I will ask her today only how can I help. If we suggest any help for her drinking we are attacked. I know that prayer is all that I have, but I am a mom, I need something to make this better. Oh, God help me!

Hello All,

Kris, I understand, sometimes things just don't go the right way. Hope your pain will subside soon. Hope it will get a little better. Did you get caught up on your sleep? Hope all is well with you.

Kim, Headaches are pretty bad things. Migraines are even worse. I hope that they will stay away from you.

Hope everyone is feeling better today. I hope that you all will be able to enjoy your day.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

Kim - hopefully the headache is long gone! Your BF must get on with his ex and her other very well! GOOD FOR YOU with the bike rack - just be careful tho' - boyfriend might get the idea that you do EVERYTHING in the future - LOL!

Linda - if you are still around to read this - ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY :-)

Dot - I know that sometimes we don't have much say about how much walking we have to do or how long we are out and when it is over the top it is a right pain in the b....:-( I USED to have a spare car key, but unfortunately that is what I use now. My hubby put the original key in the ignition about a year ago and turned it - the key snapped in the lock! I haven't been able to afford even the $10 odd to replace it - there are more pressing priorities, unfortunately.

Terri - The Physio seems to think that most of the pain is coming from the spine - either the arthritis or the scoliosis, or both! That was because my foot and outer thigh suffered as well. My Mum is 89. She is quite a feisty old bat sometimes:-)

LADYDUO - your Mum MAY have taken that phrase as being BOSSY :-) Putting it to her that she would actively be helping you to achieve your weightloss sounds SOOOOO much nicer - LOL! Enjoy your Monday morning walk with her :-D

TTMILTONJ - Make sure that you don't go beating yourself up for your "eating everything..." Chalk it up to experience. (and good luck :-)

Sue - Looking at your weight-ticker I am more than sure that you will bounce back:-)

Bob - BIG hugs to you xx

Lori - Hopefully you are less sad now, but when you are ready to share, we are here to support you!

Well, I read all the posts...
and had a few giggles--Ladyduo, pushing your Mom around was a great example of the awkwardness of language at times
and had a few 'sorrys'--Bob sorry about your bad days...
and I'm too tired to remember everything, so a few words...
Terri--I hope you settle in a bit more at work soon...
Julie--sorry about the memory frustrations, but it really sounds like you are doing well after such a hard road to travel...
Kris--hope you get some good sleep and some pain relief...
Sad here...rather complicated...and feeling like I'm disposable--ouch!
Have another present to wrap before bed...and then I get to ring bells at church in the morning, so something fun to look forward to.

Thanks for all the congrats. I'm just stopping in to wish you all a good weekend. I've read the posts, but don't have time to reply to all of them.

To everyone who is having health problems and/or in pain, I wish you all the best.

Bob - I am still thinking of you! (((hugs)))

Be kind to yourselves and have a great weekend!

Good evening all

I am actually very proud of myself today. I have never been handy in any kind of mechanical way. But I have decided that I need to become a little more self sustaining so when my bike rack came this week, I told BF that I wanted to see if I couldn't get it together on my own. He laughed and said to go for it. So I unpacked the box and arranged all the nuts, bolts, washers, screws ...... and opened the instruction book. The first step told me to use a certain bolt - which immediately fell right thru the hole. I looked at all the parts and determined that I really should be using a different bolt. I was pretty sure, but I called BF down to double check. He looked and sure enough agreed that the instructions were wrong and I was right. I got back to work and about an hour later - I was the proud owner of a Kuat Sherpa 2 bike rack - which was sound and tightly bolted. BF said he was really impressed!

Linda - your vacation sounds wonderful - Enjoy!

Terri - I'm so glad to hear that your hubby is going better. That must be a lot of stress off of you! I had to laugh about dinner with the Exes. She was a friend of MIL before she even met BF - and they have remained friends over the years. She comes down to visit from NY (we are in Florida) once a year or so. I get along with her very well. She understands only too well how difficult BF is to live with. I enjoy her company as odd as that may seem.

Julie - 10 pounds WOW! Great Job~

Ladyduo - I love your plan with your Mother. Push her until it starts to become a habit for you both!

Bob - hope all is well with you - still sending you warm healing thoughts!

Hugs to all - gotta go get my bike and gear together for our ride tomorrow. Now that I have a shinny new rack to take my bike on !!

Ladyduo, you made me laugh about pushing your mom around. Hee-hee. I didn't think of it like that. You have a great plan to start walking. Good for you!

Julieann- Saddly I have no friends in Yakima. All the friends I have live out of town. So I have no one but my parents. All my friends moved away or are online. I live a lonely life which doesn't help the depression one bit.

Kris- Pocky is a Japenese snack. Its a thin sweet biscuit stick dippen into stuff like chocolate or strawberry cream. I've seen coconut and almounds stuck to them as well. It says that a small package is a servering but I can only eat a coulpe of sticks at a time.
Mom thinks its a great idea to have me push her around. lol Though she didn't like that phrase she did think that walking around the court and I pushing her was good. And sorry to hear you are having hip pain.

Linda- I don't have a pedometor. But my mom claims to have a nice on somewhere within the confines of the house. Oh boy. She said she'll have dado help her look for it. I'll have to replace the batt though. I hope she finds it soon though.

Dot- Thank you. Still need to lose 35lbs though. I need a scale too. It might help.

Terri- I have no idea why they bought all that candy. Mom already regrets buying them. She said she was hungry. It makes no since to me for them to buy the candy so soon after my appointment. The kicker is mom went into the appointment with me and heard every word the surgeon told me. Just blows my mind. On the bright side I'm not much for candy and most of what they is milk chocolate. I really only like dark.

Ok everyone I talked to mom and she's agreed to go walking with me. She says she'll walk as far as she can pushing her wheelchair and then when she gets tired she sit in the chair and I'll push her. We start Monday morning. Yay.

Hi Everyone,

I liked stormfan's idea of stating something positive each day so I think I'll start with that...1) I am thankful that DH continues to improve every day! 2) I lost 2 lbs last week!

Dot, Sorry to hear you had so much pain after your outing. but glad you weathered the storm. The big storms have made the headlines for sure. Hearty stock for those of you living there. Good luck with your papers. Are you nearing the end of the filing? I hope so. I sure commend you for setting your mind to do it an finishing it. I have a room that REALLY needs to be organized and I can hardly get started.

Julieanne, So happy to hear you had a good visit with your oncologist. 10 Lbs is awesome! Good for you! I know you are studying and the memory loss is particularly difficult in that situation, but maybe if you have a notepad you could jot things down on during the day you would have it to refer back to. Not sure if that would help for what you need. Just a thought.

Linda, I am so jealous, LOL!!!! I hope you have an absolutely wonderful escape. You really deserve it! I'll be thinking of you and living vicariously through you! LOL!

Kris, Do you think the pain in your hip/leg is related to your bad accident years ago? Does the pilates help? I have been thinking of trying pilates but it sounds so hard. I don't know much about it. Glad the weather was a bit nicer for you and you had a bit of a reprieve. Your Mom sounds like quite an independent character. How old is she? Thanks for the support about my job decision. I did deserve it, but I just don't have it in me to fight it anymore. The union needs constant proding to move forward and I am not up for it.

Ladyduo, Congrats on your weight loss and good for you for cleaning out your room of the goodies. There is one safe place for you. I agree, it sounds like sabotage to me too. Why on Earth would they get 6 bags of candy when they are taking you to appts to help improve your health? Pushing your Mom around the court would be great if she'll do it. Maybe you two could have a talk while walking and tell her how difficult it is for you when they stock up on candy like its Halloween.

Kim, I wonder if your headache wasn't so much the food, but the company of exes. To me, that would be torture! Ex wife and her mother! I'd be reaching for the Saki, not the exedrin. But, I guess that would also lead to needing exedrin... You are more tolerant than I. Hope you feel better.

Bob, haven't heard from you. hope you are improving. it must be so depressing to be going through this after having been sick so much. You probably feel like you've been beat up and beat up again. We are all wishing you a speedy recovery.

Gayle, Lori and Vicki and everyone else I didn't name, I hope you are all doing well, staying warm and finding joy in everyday.

I am feeling less like crying.Work was really busy yesterday, but we made it. I got a bit of overtime in. That will help the paycheck. I need it! I have the weekend off and I'm going to a baby shower this PM. I've been doing so good on WW, I am nervous about going to the shower. Cake, goodies, etc. I will eat before I go so at least I won't be hungry. I also found out the results of my sleep study. I have severe sleep apnea. So, now I go to another class for cpap mask fitting and a 7 day trial on cpap. Then the doc analyzes it and sets the prescription for me for my own cpap machine. DH already is doing his 7 day trial now.

So sorry if I left out anyone. I think of you all and wish the best for you. Have a good day. Terri

Hello All,

Julie, thank you so much for thinking of me. I did do a lot of walking the other day, I have to go out again today but don't think I will do that many again. I was really tired when I got home the other day. Also really full of pain. I did rest for a while that day. Good job on the weight loss.

Linda I hope you enjoy yourself. Hope everything goes as planned.

Ladyduo, you are doing just great. Keep up the good work, it will be paying off soon.

Terri I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and wish for a speedy recovery.

Kris, glad you were able to get your car keys. I always carry a second set in my coat. If you don't want to do that, you could get one of those metal magnet key boxes that you could put under your car someplace on metal. It will stay there and you will always have a spare key.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. For those I have missed, sorry. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well for you all.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm

Best wishes to all!

Julie-Congrats on the weight loss. Thats ALOT of weight!!! WOW!!!
Ladyduo-Congrats on yours too. Keep up the walking and you will see more results. Do you have a pedometor? Watch out for those treats. It sounds like sabatage to me.
Bob- So sorry to hear about your health problems. Take care of yourself. I'll be praying for a good outcome for you. You have a great sense of humor too.
Dot-Good job on the papers!! Thank you. I leave tomorrow morning. I am not going on a cruise although we will probably be taking a ferry to an island to go snorkeling. We are going to a hotel(timeshare) that we go to every year. Can't wait!!
Terri-I hope you start to feel better too. Sounds like you could use some me time since you spend so much time taking care of others. Take care
Kris-I did the same thing with the keys the other day but my car was running. It was no problem this time because I carry my extra key in my purse now. I hope you are now resting more than you were.
Lizzie-How are you doing now healthwise??
Kim-I hope you have a restful weekend and the photos sound beautiful!!
Stormfan-Big hugs to you.

So I don't know if I'll be back here today or not. Have some things to do today for tomorrows trip but maybe I'll be back later. If not take care everyone. I'll be praying and thinking of all of you. Have a nice weekend and week ahead.

Good Morning Team,

I woke up with a headache and I just can't seem to shake it. Had dinner with BF's family and his Ex Wife and her mother last night at a Japanese steakhouse. I wonder if something in the food bothered by head? I know Chinese does that to me sometimes. Anyway, a few Exedrin are in me - hope they kick in soon.

Terri - it is possible that the pent-up emotions of the last wee while have taken it's toll to a degree. Hopefully your crying at work is just the release so that you can move on, but if it continues, please remember to check in with your Dr re a medication review etc. I can understand your deciding to stop the grievance on the job. I have had a couple occasions where I have gone through our Unions to a Tribunal (and won) and have to say, if I hadn't been VERY strong emotionally at those times, I doubt very much I would have come through unscathed! Sometimes it is better for our health to learn to let go, but then it sounds like I am preaching to the converted :-)

Julie - good news from the Oncologist:-) Good news too that you have lost that weight:-) NOT so good re the memory loss thing. DO remember tho' that everyone is different and they can only say what normally happens, not what will happen with you. I still have some memory problems after my accident in Oct 2001. When I am really tired it is affected, and also the other times are when I am stressed or if it is to do with numbers. For THEM I have VERY poor memory - often like a minute or so! It is something that you can learn to cope with to a degree by using a variety of techniques.

LADYDUO - What is "Pocky?" If you mentioned to your Mum that you can get a better work-out by pushing her in the wheelchair, do you think that she MIGHT allow you to do this more often - as in HELPING her daughter to lose the weight? It CAN actually be quite fun. My own mother is a bit like that, and got tee'd off with me when I grabbed a Wheelchair if we were going anywhere which COULD involve a bit too much walking for her. In the end she realized that it gave her a better enjoyment of going somewhere. Now she doesn't go anywhere except up to their grocery store, and she uses a Walker for that because it has a seat on it.

It has been another hot day, but not QUITE as humid as yesterday. I ended up having an afternoon sleep again because I was up early again because of hip pain. My Pilates Instructor (who is a practicing Physiotherapist) told me that she thinks it is more coming from my spine that hip because I have also had burning down the outer thigh and tingling on the top of my foot! I have to go to the Dr in a week or two, so I will talk about it with him then, hopefully. I have to go to a new Dr because my other one deserted me - he has left the practice. I'm not keen on seeing others - except for my original one who only occasionally relieves now, but have to for meds and medical certificates re Sickness Benefit.

I'm off to bed early tonight - hopefully I'll be able to catch up on the rest of the sleep I have been missing lately.

Nite,
Kris

Ladyduo - I'm sorry that your parents bought so much candy. That's tough when you know there's stuff in the house. But, GREAT JOB getting stuff out of your room! emoticon I think walking around the court you live in is a great walking idea. If your mom won't do it with you, perhaps you could get a walking buddy - a friend or neighbor?

I hope you enjoy your afternoon killing some monsters. :)

Terri- I've already pruged my room of all things snack. With the exception on my fiber bars for my nightly snack I need for my pills. And the box of Pocky, I keep forgeting I have them. Thankfully the Pocky isn't all that bad for you and I can only eat a few sticks at a time. As for the candy my loving parents who are suppose to go on this diet with me, bought six bags of candy yesterday. I couldn't believe it. I'm so disappointed in them for buying that stuff. I had to walk away in the store.

Kris- You might have an idea there. THe only problem is that mom hates using the wheelchair. She'd rather take one of those rider carts. I think she just doesn't want to depend on anyone. I'm told to start walking now. I wonder if mom would let me push her around the moble court we live in?

Julieanne- I did get your comment. Thank you.

Today I started working on my abstract and reallized after I had pastel all over my hand that maybe I should be working on it since its laundry day too. So I washed up and got online. I'll play some MapleStory in the afternoon instead. Nothing like killing some monsters to make you feel better. Because after all I'm alive and they're dead. Haha.

Dot - I hope things are going well for you and that you have a good weekend. :)

Terri - I'm really sorry to hear that you've been so upset about your work situation. emoticon If there's anything we can do for you, please let us know. I know it's a difficult situation, but I'm glad you have a job and that things are going okay there.

Kris - I'm sorry you're feeling fatigued today. I really do hope you can get some more rest!

Bob - I'm still thinking of you! (((hugs)))
------
I saw my medical oncologist today. I love him. He's so great and takes so much time to really explain things. I'll have a PET Scan in 3 weeks to find out if I'm really cancer free. If I am, I will have to have minor surgery to have my port removed.

Also, he said I could exercise more than the Pink Exercise class in a month, which is better than what the radiologist oncologist said. So, yay!

The news I didn't like was that my memory loss can last for up to 1-2 years. BOO. I'm still having problems with it.

The better news is that I haven't weighed myself in a little over a month and I've lost 10 POUNDS just by altering my diet! Woo hoo! That's way better than I was expecting, and exercise can only help. My first exercise class will be Tuesday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! emoticon

Hello All,

I am still busy with my papers. But yesterday I had to go out and get some food and stuff for the weekend. Everyone seems to have weathered the storm ok.

Bob, I am so sorry to hear the news. I hope that the antibiotics will help you a lot. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Big hugs go out to you.

Sorry I haven't read all the posts. I just haven't had a lot of time to do it properly, and I am terrible sorry for not giving everyone the attention that I should. Once the papers are done I think I will be able to get back to being my old self again. Unless I take on another project. Ha Ha.

My heart really goes out to you all and hope that your day will be uneventful.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

Hello to all,

Martyred4love, Maybe try to make a list, a small list, of the things you really need to do in order to resolve your depression. And, make a point to celebrate your weight loss. Do something even if your heart isn't in it at first. It could rub off and you'll feel better. Try to be the friend to yourself that you are to others. And, you are NOT a blimp.

stormfan, Good idea about posting something positive. Maybe we should do that everyday before we start posting our troubles.

Mstoneham, dealing with bureacracies is a head banger, like up against the wall. All you can do is what your doing. Change companies if you think it will benefit you. Otherwise, play the game and stay safe and warm.

Lizzie, So glad you were able to take a break from work. You deserve the rest! Thanks for your comments about my returning to work. Sometimes working in healthcare is really hard when all you want is someone to take care of you for a little while. A lot of positive things happened today with the Stanford Dr Arrogant. he will get his feedback from his chief.

Same, glad you finally made it home. Sounds like quite a drive in that weather! Thank you for sharing such valuable experiences. It helps.

Ladyduo, if gastric bypass is what you truly want, you can loose the 35 lbs. You just may surprise yourself. Keep up the walking and eat healthy food and you'll get there in no time. It is a huge committment. One many embrace and succeed at. The ones I have seen that didn't loose weight did everything they could to beat the procedure, like put tons of butter on mini muffins and cream in their tea, lots of it, plus no exercise at all. Candy all over the house. You can't do things like that, or it will not work no matter how tiny your stomach ends up being. It is scary, but remember how it will fell zipping up a size 12 dress ! You will feel like a new woman! Ask your parents to partake of their goodies away from you and put the goodies away in a place you never look. stay away from it at all costs.

Linda, Congrats on your mani/pedi. You probably have the prettiest feet in town!LOL!!!I'm glad vacation started. Half the fun is in the planning and the anticipation. I can't wait to hear all about it. Are you going on a cruise?

Dot, good luck on the papers. What a huge burden will be lifted when they are done. stay warm!

Kris, too bad you had such a tough day. How awfully frustrating and resultant in pain. I hope you are able to take a hot bath or something that makes you relax and feel better. Maybe a cool bath since it is so hot there. Any word on the nearby cyclone?

Kim, The pictures sound really beautiful. sound like you and BF are doing better. That is wonderful. Hang in there with work. IT doesn't define you, it's just how you pay the bills.

Bob, I pray that the antibiotics do the trick. Are having to stay in the hospital?Make sure they figure out the other problem and the blood in the urine. CT of your kidneys is imperative if they haven't done it already. If it is kidney cancer, that can be cured if caught early. Both my parents had kidney cancer. Mom lived, Dad didn't. I will be thinking of you.

jUlieann, I hope you are felling a bit better today about the family issues. you have a new family here, you know.

my work day was alright. I couldn't stop crying all day though. I think that I have held it together for so long and now, I just can't any longer. I am going to stop the grievance on the job I lost. I don't want to be where I'm not wanted. Too much negative energy there. I wnat to forget it. Something perfect will come along. I know it will.

Have a good nite everyone. sleep well. Terri

LADYDUO - pushing your mother around would help chew up a lot of calories - more than just walking. Perhaps you could do that more often to give your weight-loss a bit of a boost.

Bob - I would be inclined to think that it was GOOD - NOT bad that they found it. Hopefully the medication does the trick! If they hadn't, as you realize, you would have been set up for potentially a lot worse outcome! Hang in there - I know what no food/water is like having been there/done that for a different reason.

I have been rather fatigued today - it has been really humid making it seem hotter than it was. Yesterday's adventure only added to the fatigue. I got a reasonable sleep last night, and hopefully will again tonight.

That is where I am headed soon - to the land of nodd :-)

Take care,
Kris

Kris - I'm so sorry that you had a rough day. I hope you got some rest and that Friday will be a better day for you!

Stormfan - I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. I hope that continues!!!

Mcamomto3 - I hope that your tests go well. I'm not sure what's going on, but best wishes to you.

Ladyduo - Five hours is a long time shopping! It's good exercise though. :) I'm glad you started your abstract drawing. I hope you're enjoying making it. I hope you got my message on your blog about your surgery situation.

Kim - I'm glad the pictures look nice. :) I hope you get some good rest as well!

Bob - I am very, very sorry to hear about your health situation. Even though you have some scary news, I think it's wonderful that you can see the good in it. It was found early and now it can be taken care of! I'm really hoping you don't have to have surgery. I am sending positive energy and thoughts your way. I also hope you are not in a lot of pain. I really, really hope the antibiotics work and I certainly don't envy your not being able to eat or drink! If you need anything from me (or this team), please let us know. You are really in my thoughts and I wish all the best for you. Since you said you are a hugger, I hope you'll accept these: emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Lizzie - It looks like we were posting at the same time. I'm sorry to hear that you've also been having your own health struggles. I wish you all the best too!

To anyone else that I haven't named, I hope all are well. I haven't been getting notifications that people have been posting, so I just checked now. I wonder if other people are having problems with this too?

Bob, How frightening to find free air in yhour abdomen! It amazes me that when looking for something else, another problem is found. That is what I have been going through too. An ultrasound of my kidneys showed an abnormal area in my bladder. My heart goes out to you as you fight this infection. Big virtual hugs to you! Lots of good thoughts for a quick and uneventful recovery. Lizzie

Where is everyone? I am having a badish day. I had my CT and they found free air in my abdomen. They sent me to my doc and he didn't see me, the nurse came out and said he saw the report and said I should go immediately to the ER. They thought I'd need surgery asap. When I finally saw the GI surgeon he said a diverticula is perforated but since there is only air so far and not bowel waste he wants to try and treat it with anti-biotics. So no food or any fluids including water for at least 24 hours to see if it will seal on it's own. If it doesn't which is likely, they will have to remove that section of colon- big surgery.
The reason it's baddish is that they weren't looking for that. If this hadn't been caught so early it likely would have leaked my bowels and absessed- evil bad. I had a pain in my groin Tueday night and the doc said it was a prostate infection. Since I had gotten results back the day before from my Jan physical that found blood in my urine and abnormal cells I asked for an x-ray to look for a mass or other reason for the pain. No mass something else odd but not bad- so CT. The odd thing was no prob but they found air.....

So I realized after a long bad day that I got really lucky we found this early without even looking for it. Let you know how I am doing as I know. Can a brother get a burger!!! take care, bob ps. can't recommend this diet!

Ladyduo - If you keep having days like today, you're not going to have ANY problem dropping the weight you need for your surgery. Good job!

Kris - I hope today was a lot calmer for you.

We got the pictures back from the frame shop. They turned out really well. Now to figure out where to hang them. BF also got pictures of 2 waterfall shots mounted. These pictures he took from two hikes we took on vacations. They turned out really amazing. What a wonderful surprise. I'm so glad I didn't let my general grumpy mood ruin the moment before he showed me!..

I'm off to fix dinner and try to relax a bit before bed. I've been working so hard for so long - I'm literally exhausted! I think I'll head in early tonight - and take either Saturday or Sunday as a full sleep in day.

Hugs to all -

Kim

Kris- Sorry to hear you had a bad day. I hope you get all the sleep you need.

Linda- Thanks for the vote of confedence.

Today was power walking with dad aka grocery shopping. Took us five hours. FIVE HOURS! I can't believe it took us that long. And I was a good girl and walked through all the stores. I even pushed mom through Costco. I'm offically tired and now I don't want to cook dinner. But I have to.

Also yesterday I started my abstract drawing with oil pastels. Somehow it wound up with eyes and maybe a mouth. Its very black too.
