I am at the AMC's Highland Center in Breton Woods, NH. It is 35 degrees and raining hard. Tonight we are expecting snow. emoticon

We had heavy cloud coverage until just after 3am for the eclipse. We were lucky to see the ending of it, although we didn't stay outside too long - it was just too cold and windy.

Stayed in yesterday when the sleet and hail were coming down, but got out today for a short walk (not enough to call it a hike)! Cool and windy, but still felt good just to be outside. Would have liked to seen the lunar eclipse, but no such luck with the cloud cover.

My dog and I have stayed in two days now and if the temps don't get better we'll continue because that ice/sleet/snow we got isn't going anywhere. The roads are hazardous and we walk on the roads around here. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it was predicted. It started with thunderstorms at 4am yesterday then the temps dropped and it turned into freezing rain and as the temps continued it progressed to sleet and finally to snow. Yuck! I'm so sick of this I could scream.

My dog and I are staying in! Sleet first, then snow. Again.

No outdoor walking today for my dog and I. Probably not tomorrow either, maybe longer depends on this ice/sleet snow and artic cold front coming in. My allergies and asthma are acting up today. Hope everyone's staying safe & warm, especially if you're in the path or been hit by this storm system.

I'm so ready for spring I can't stand it. From 6am Sunday to 6am Monday we're under a winter storm warning for ice, sleet and snow (hopefully just the sleet & snow). I'm sick and tired of this winter.

Spent my February break in sunny Oaxaca and now I'm readjusted to warm and it's been below zero here. I'm ready for spring!

It's funny how are bodies do that. We had 50 degrees one day - seems like forever ago now but we thought it was downright tropical outside. Now we have so much snow & ice you can't get outside unless you risk serious bodily harm! We had freezing rain yesterday afternoon and evening to top the snow off. I just got out of the hospital yesterday and made it home before it iced up too bad. Now the temperatures are dropping even more. I'm not made for cold weather since the 2009 ice storm - that took all my cold tolerance with it! Enjoy the weather where you're at Grebjack!

It's been so cold for so long here that 15 degrees feels positively balmy and I'm not zipping up my coat until the temperature goes to single digits. Crazy, but I love that my body is so adaptable...

I don't know if anyone's been brave or crazy enough with this cold snap to hike any. It's been miserable around here in KY. I'm looking forward to vacation in June so I can get my hiking going again.

Anyone out on the trail the last few days? It's been too cold for me to go outside for recreation the last few days and will probably stay that way another day or so...but it's looking like the weekend will warm up a bit.
