Gosh, that's a long answer. The truth is I really like the idea of wearing comfortable, stylish shoes and it's a never-ending quest to find them. emoticon

I stopped being able to wear high heels about 25 years ago and so the only heels I wear now are 1/2 inch pumps, kitten heels or wedge heels.

I am forever looking for the stylish, comfortable and affordable flat that looks good with a dress and because of the seeming impossibility of this, I regularly seem to buy shoes that feel okay in the store but when I actually wear them, they kill my feet so then I end up not wearing them.

Recently, I cleaned out my closet and gave Goodwill about 20 pairs of this type of shoe. But, I still have far too many pairs.

I have a pair of dressy winter boots that are too big for me since I bought them the winter I got RA when I was all swollen but I paid over $100 for them and they're still good so I still wear them.

I have a pair of winter boots that are just for mucking around that I rarely wear because frankly, if I'm not out for work or shopping, I don't really muck around outside in the winter time.

I also have a pair of rubber boots I rarely wear because I left them outside and they're full of cobwebs, leaves, etc.

I have a pair of workboots that I've worn exactly twice but I didn't have to pay for them because I got them through work.

I have 3 pairs of sneakers (one pair relatively new for doing my aerobics except that my feet get tingly when I wear them, one pair that are my old aerobic shoes that I now wear as walking shoes for around home and one pair of walking shoes that I actually wear for walking shoes at work and they have my orthotics in them).

I have two pairs of dress shoes that I regularly wear (one navy blue Naturalizer pumps that I bought more than 10 years ago that are really comfortable but I've never been able to find a pair that comfortable since not even the Naturalizer ones and one pair of black kitten heel slides that I bought at Payless that didn't cost that much but are also really comfortable).

I have two other pairs of Naturalizer pumps that I used to find comfortable but now I don't but I haven't managed to part with them yet.

The same year I bought the dress winter boots, I bought a pair of red Merrell sports sandals, which turned out to be the only pair of shoes I could wear until November (from September) since my feet had swollen so much and I still wear them when I want a comfy pair of walking sandals or if I'm going to be around water.

A couple of years ago, I bought a pair of sandals online at Lands End and loved them so much, I ordered 3 more pairs in different colours. I recently did that also with a pair of wedge black sandals I bought online from Sears & I liked them so much, I bought another pair in red.

I have two pairs of house shoes, both slides, blue for inside and white for outside.

I recently spent way too much on my first pair of flip flops. My friend said that Havanias (or something) were the best ones so I ordered them online and after shipping and duty, they came to $40 plus!

I have 3 pairs of slippers ranging in warmth.

And, I still have about half a dozen pairs of flats that I bought and spent too much money on that I haven't managed to part with yet even though I don't find them very comfortable to wear.

So all told, I have around 30 pairs of footwear (I think).

LOL - Shoes! I have lots of shoes, but mostly wear my most comfy sandals & tennis shoes since my legs & back hurt so much.

however i have a few pairs of sandals that are very cool & stylish (kill my heels), a couple of pairs of really neat boots -one pair is black & looks very much like a Victorian era dressy woman's boot -both would make me break my neck in my current state of deconditioning, and a couple pairs of sexy high heels for dates .. they've never been out of the box emoticon But ya never know!

Stay calm and carry on.

I'm not sure, but probably around 20. I mostly wear my athletic shoes as I wear them for both working out and work. I have one pair of kitten heeled sandals (less than an inch) that I wear on very special dress up nights. Since I have been diagnosed I've had to lose the heels. I've been donating a lot of my shoes since I can no longer wear them.

About 60. They range from foot doctor approved berkies and danskos to my lovely leopard stilettos, Coach heel and a pair of zebra striped d' orsey flats. Throw in lots of flip flops, running shoes, a pair of Uggs or two or three and I have shoes for all occasions and climates.

4 pair sneakers (2 running, one?, one mowin' the lawn pair)
1 pair hiking shoes
1 pair rugged flip flops
1 pair tevas
1 pair dansko sandals
1 pair regular dansko clogs
1 pair winter boots
1 pair winter clogs
2 pair slippers
1 pair black flats
random pairs of dress shoes that are never worn, I'd say 4 or so...(they hurt to wear)

so 18ish...

In summer I wear my rugged flippies the most, in winter tie between dansko clogs and hiking boots.

Though I prefer to be barefoot & yes I know its bad for my feeties.

I'd probably say 20 pairs - including slippers, army footwear, and shower shoes. Love my Birks.

I quit counting @ 50 pairs of shoes! I had no idea that I had that many!!! Most of them are put up and not worn - they are high heels, flip flops, my "thin shoes," and shoes that I wore before I had all the "metal" put into my feet and my feet swelled up so! Now I mostly wear slippers in the house, tennis shoes or sandals outside, and garden boots to work in the garden.

Well I have 5 pair of workout shoes. One older pair for really bad weather walks, a little newer pair for nice weather walks, new ones that only get used at the gym or workouts in the home, 4th are fancy silver sneakers, and the last is a mans pair of Reboks after basketball shoes (really comfy). I think I have a couple of pair of flip flops, also just purchase a new pair of sandals at K-Mart, their Cuddle brand was on sale. I still have a hanging rack of dress shoes (high heels and I don't like to wear them if I don't have too) that I haven't worn in years and after looking in my closet I have a lot more shoes than I thought, I even have my ballet slippers from years ago. I wear my house slippers all day unless I am going outside but have worn them under long pants, they look like Uggs then. I have 26 pair of shoes if you include my slipper. Mostly I am in workout shoes or slippers. After looking and counting I realize I have more flip flops and flat shoes than I thought, also found another pair of black sneakers.

I probably have 10-12 pairs of shoes. I wear my birkenstocks the most because they are the most comfortable on my feet and easily adjust for swelling. The ones I wear least are a pair of high heals, my poor feet just can't take them anymore, maybe it's time to get rid of them.
