Thank you Shelley for the gentle reminder. Good timing too as I was at a highway rest stop. I travel too much for work. Argh.
It has been decided for the track visit this year. It is going to be Dover on the May 6th race. Wasn't my first choice. I was arguing for Dega.
So for this week's race. Here goes.

42. Kyle
78. Martin
20. Erik
22. Joey
41. Kurt.

Enjoy the race
Cheers
Chris

Thanks everyone. When I saw that I had drivers 1-5 I had hoped that was good enough for the win but wasn't sure who everyone else had and I know a lot of us have been picking very similar drivers so I wasn't sure. emoticon Sorry I'm just getting to this now but it's been a crazy week. So for punishment try to get 10000 steps in tomorrow, if you don't have a step counter of some kind just guestimate by trying to get a little more walking in. I have a fitbit and my daily goal of steps is 10000. Don't always hit that but go for an extra walk in the evening or something to boost those steps up. :) Have a great day everyone! :)

Ok, getting my picks in now so I don't leave anymore bonus points on the table like last week. Even though my back-ups cover pretty well for me. Maybe I should just use them every week. emoticon
So for Las Vegas I'm going to go with both the Busch brothers 41, 18, 78, 4, 9

Sorry for my absence last week. Gotta get back in to the habit. Two reasons in and I wish I could say I am happy with winning drivers so far. But sadly two of my least preferred drivers have won. Hopefully things can start turning around starting now.

For Vegas.
Let's go with a home boy 41 Kurt Busch
And my new fav 20. Erik Jones
A tested and true 11 Denny Hamlin
The defending champ 78 Martin Truex
And someone building a comeback 22 Joey Lagono

Enjoy the race everyone
Cheers

Due to my extreme lateness in getting this thread started... I am changing this year's Daytona deadline to 30 minutes before the race starts...

So picks need to be posted by 2pm ET on Sunday...

For anyone who might be new to this thread (& as a "refresher" for us veterans of the game), here are the "rules":

Each week players submit their picks for who they think will be the top 5 drivers (or their 5 favorite drivers)... simple as that.

Preferably post them on this thread, but should you be unable to, I am willing to give out my cell phone number to individuals so that picks can be texted to me. I rec'd a few that way in past seasons, and then I will post them here for everyone else to see.

POINTS:
Basically, you will earn the same number of points that your drivers do.

Additionally, 5 bonus points will be awarded if you pick the pole winner as well as 5 bonus points for the race winner.

DEADLINE:
Picks must be posted here (or texted to me) BEFORE qualifying begins. This is due to the bonus points for the pole, and the advantage of knowing who is starting closer to the front of the pack.

PENALTY:
If picks are late (after qualifying begins), any bonus points will be forfeited (pole and winner). Even if late, still post your picks if before the start of the race, as you will still get points for the race itself, just not any bonus points you may have earned.

*** For the Daytona 500 ONLY***
There will be no pole bonus points d/t the multi-day format of qualifying. So for this race only, the deadline for your picks to be in is 9pm (EST) the night before the race (2/17).

(((*** DEADLINE CHANGE*** - due to my extreme lateness in getting this thread started, I am extending the deadline for picks to 30 minutes before the race started, or by 2pm (EST) on Sunday (2/18).)))

BACK-UP PICKS:
With your first post, also submit your "back-up picks"... these are the 5 drivers that would go into play if for some reason the person didn't or couldn't get their picks in for that particular week. (these were utilized by several people last season and really helped prevent them from getting into a hole they couldn't come back from)

Sorry for the late post to get this year's "game" started, but it's that time again...

unfortunately I've been sooooo busy that the Daytona 500 is this weekend already!!!

I can't tell ya how happy I am that our annual Nascar withdrawal is over!

Welcome back to returning players... and hopefully we'll have some new players join us again this year! Always room for more race fans...

(Next post will have the rules...)
