I was thinking about getting some too, I didn't realize they were that spendy though. I don't have proper shoes for working out or walking so they looked like a good idea. Now I am not so sure lol.

If you you want to try out this type of shoe, but don't want to spend $100+ only to find you really don't like them, you might want to check out Target. Yes, Target! They have a store brand 'shape up' shoe for $30. I'm sure they are not as good as the pricier brands, but it's a way to try them without breaking the bank.

I have a friend that had a pair has since developed major problems with her ankles and shin bones. I don't know if it's because of her age ( 83) but her doctor told her not to wear them. That's my only experience with them.

In the UK you can get MBT's (Masai Barefoot Technology) shoes and trainers. You can only get them in stores as they have to teach you how to walk/run properly in them.

Perhaps this is why people are struggling with the Shape Ups?

I haven't tried them myself (they're expensive) but my old exercise class teacher swore by hers.

I have them. I REALLY like them. I personally feel the "burn" when walking on my treadmill, and they do not hurt me. Some think they are ugly, I think they are cute. It is a lot of money, but worth it in my case.

I read a bad review on them (can't remember the magazine)
And Dr. Oz reviewed them on his show.He said they are no good.
Basically what it boils down to is they are just another gimmicky shape up tool.
I wouldn't waste your money on them.

I had a pair of shape up shoes (not Sketchers) and have since donated them to GoodWill. They hurt my feet, ankles, and shins.

I've heard that if you're going to pick between the Sketchers Shape Ups and the Reebok Easytone, then go with the Sketchers as I've heard from various people that the soles on the Reebok Easytones can burst.

I bought a pair last year and they are now in my closet. I started having problems with my ankles from them.

I read some reviews about them. It was a good way for the company to make money. What they do is work on the feet and ankles - not so much on the hips which is why ladies bought them. I think I saw this in health magazine. Be wary. It's a lot of money.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, WOW! What a ride!
