That's so great! Car trips are really hard for me, particularly when there are other people eating things that are not on my plan.

Congratulations on your travel victories! I can totally relate - just came from a weeklong trip with my family. While everyone snacked on chips, I snacked on fruit. I did have a few indulgences like mango cheesecake and pringles but I made sure to stay active during our vacation! Woohoo!

This is simply AMAZING! Congrats! I find myself in the same spot. My husband is home this weekend (he took the weekend off to celebrate Mother's Day with me and my son and spend some time with us). Instead of going to the drive in movies, we decided to rent a bunch of movies and stay home so we can wear our jammies and just chill. I am actually UNDER on my calories for today so far and it's 9pm and I'm not even hungry at all. :) We got Subway and I usually get a footlong, have half for the meal and save the other for another time, but I felt as if I might want to eat that other half this evening, so I just ordered a 6 inch. I was SO full and this evening, while my son and hubby were eating chips and candy, I had an orange and a glass of ice water. And I didnt even WANT that bad stuff! I'm so proud of myself!

SO awesome that you had pistachios and an apple!! YOU rock!! YOU GO DONE GIRL! And the walk and especially for the Mexican place, that is usually my undoing as well and I dont even wanna try to go there. LOL I usually dont avoid many things, but that and Chinese food are on my radar for 'no thanks' anymore. haha

This is a great post. Congrats on getting in your lifestyle groove! XO

Once a month I travel with my husband to a location 3 hours away from home. Everytime I'd travel its like all my discipline, self control, and future goals just blew right out the car window. I'd return home feeling discouraged and helpless. BUT this weekend was DIFFERENT!

Even traveling on Friday, I tracked my eating on the car ride. When my husband stopped and got a hot dog and my daughter bought a muffin, I didn't eat anything because I wasn't hungry.(Victory) Then later on the trip, I ate some pistachios and an apple. (Victory) On Saturday morning I put on my sneakers and went for a walk for 25 minutes. (VICTORY) It's the first time I've ever gone for a walk in this location. The neighborhood is actually very beautiful! And today (Saturday) we ate at a Mexican Restaurant and their chips are USUALLY my undoing....but not today. I asked for an extra plate and I counted out 20 chips and those were all the chips I ate! (ANOTHER VICTORY!) It's now 8:30pm and I'm DONE eating. I've tracked all my calories and stayed within my healthy range AND I exercised today too!

I'm heading into a great Mother's Day! By the way, Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow Sparker Moms! :D
