aw linda i really hope you sleep well tonight , so sorry about the drama , it breaks my heart for you, things are going well here, i am needed to get meds and water and meals. darren walks every hour and then i put his leg up on a pillows. and cover him up. he is getting stronger every day , my brother came today so i was able to go for my walk and not worry although i am sure darren can stay still for a half hour, his brother is visiting now. i am very careful with walking and stay away from ice. i bought a pair of llbean snow sneakers and I feel pretty secure, I hope you continue to have good days Hugs and love

I love reading how you got ready for Darren to come home and there he is!!! Sounds like quite a recovery time ahead but praying all goes well - Bless you with knowledge and patience in the days ahead for him. It is fun to read how you love the walking in the snow - I avoid it in mix of fear and wisdom - the neuropathy makes me so unsafe in the snow - one day at a time.

Good for my heart today - took each hour with deep breath and prayers for wisdom, good words in letters I was writing and faith that God is totally in control of this situation and the future is directed by him!!! sipped on water in between each pint of tea or diluted juice - good proteins and fruits today.

sorry about the family drama that is no fun, every other day is perfect for weights, christmas with daughter sounds perfect. went for another half hour walk i love walking after it snows so pretty, Then Josh and I cleaned house threw out all cigarettes etc. vacuumed dusted and lit candles, darren came home around two, stitches from calf to hip on both legs , stitches in stomach and both hips, and an artificial artery in leg ,he ha a glued neck too. he has his leg up on pillows and laying in reclining chair . took his meds. Josh made us lasagna so yummy , now just trying to relax he is looking froward to sleeping without nurses talking and blood pressure cuffs on arms and legs going off every half hour, Have a great night and a better tomorrow, Hugs , Ps the almost nurse is sick s she is home resting

Boy, I didn't do much today. Pedometer only shows 1000 steps which is lowest in a long time - but that was an office day and I didn't set my timer to get up and walk around. I'm not counting my steps on the elliptical - going to see if I can figure out from the setting how many steps I make just out of curiosity. The very small weights give my shoulders quite a work out - convinced me to go every other day with them and let joints nd muscles rest in between .

Didn't decorate any more but sure enjoy just the lights on the tree - Daughter is planning our Christmas Eve and Christmas day with them - going to be a very special Christmas!! - then the day after we get to go to Dr appointment for her and baby - mid January due date is creeping up!!!

Didn't do anything special for heart - just daily living and keeping fairly calm with the family drama letters. 'Do not let the seeds of bitterness grow in you heart,"

hi linda hope today finds you well I sent for a walk in the snow this morning. made a pork roast and roasted potatoes read my book and best new yet . husband got catheter taken out. walked around wing in icu and sat in a chair . he thinks he may be coming home tomorrow we shall see, Good day, have a great happy healthy aloha friday Hugs

linda i love your plan. weights will be so good for you I need to get back in them,.Today I got up and add coffee and a small energy bar,. then a shower and started vacuuming and such wanted the house nice for when darren comes home in a few days, The kids thought it was funny that i left some pellets on the floor well the wood is brown and so is the pellets,was a little hurt but let it slide, then we stopped to get a prescription for darren for later, sara took her brother for a hair cut first, We stopped at hot table they make panninis . oh my so good mine had chicken cheese artichokes roasted mushroom peppers ,and onions spinach and hummus, so yummy, then we went to see hubby who was in pain from one of his legs, and from laying on his back for so long, we had a nice visit then he kicked us out . lol . so then sara had half hour drive to my house then half hour home long day for her, but tomorrow is her last class day at nursing school. Oh my - so sorry for the delays and added stresses - Thankful your Sarah is close and spending time with you - Trusting things will go well in recovery and that his circulation will be enough improved to make it all worth while. I cannot imagine the stress of the waiting and Dr saying it was "difficult" surgery... Praying for continued improvement from now on.

Good for my heart today - stayed on plan for food choices and only over by 100 calories due to portions. - will do elliptical this evening with arms curls and stretches starting with 1#weights. Hoping to build up fairly quickly but due to past fibromyalgia, will go carefully enough to not put myself into pain cycles. Blood sugars doing OK

hi linda another day of waiting and wondering darren didnt go into surgery as planned at 1030 he went in a one so we all opted to wait at home, he got out around 530 . the doctor said it was a very challenging operation, he did get to do everything he was supposed to, sara is coming tomorrow morning and then we will go see him. she is helping me clean house first and maybe we will go do lunch we both are craving healthy food , hope you are having a great day , Hugs

hi linda sorry long day his surgery kept being pushed back .. then took three times longer than normal . doctor says he had no good veins or arteries everything was blocked ,no more smoking he said, so now he is having the other leg sometime tomorrow, hopefully they will find some good arteries on that side. thanks for the prayers , Glad you like your heart doctor , read your blog you plan sounds great have a great night hugs

Yesterday was heart Dr day - new one to me and really appreciated his simple straightforward talk, explanations, listening and planning for future.
Aorta is enlarged but small amount esp for age and if I take care of myself, should never need surgical interventioin. Same report for the leaking heart valve.
He was total pleased with health efforts except to go ahead and push my exercise back up and "NOT FEAR" fear the aorta stuff. Now wants a nuclear stress test for approval for full knee replacement needed 4 years ago! I think I may be getting brave enough to face it!!!
So today starts serious exercise plan and weight loss attention to take it down the next notch - I have maintained the 30# loss for a few years with another 5 in flex so lets get 'er done and get rid of 20 more and keep an additional 5 flex.

Praying much for you and your Darren today - for peace and belief during the wait and good progress in recovery and healing. Take extra good care of you through it all - We can't take care of others until we take care of us. Hugs of love and prayers - keep looking for JOY in your journey.

what a lovely weekend you had time with daughter and son in law so precious, glad your numbers are good and you are feeling well,. i had a very chilly walk but glad i got it done. found a small bucket to put pellets in stove that way i dont need to lift the big heavy bag. and pour. promping it up and scooping takes longer but easier on back. we had leftover lasagna and turkey soup , just a nice afternoon except miss mischa was crying to be petted and let out all afternoon poor girl, then our phones ring and we cant hear anyone and they rering what a chore , lol Resting tomorrow before the big hospital week we have a lot of snow tonight and rain and sleet, Hugs or a great week

Glorious Thanksgiving weekend for us - kids her at noon Thursday , feast at 3. Friday we did a jewelry party so friends and extended family could come by and see the paparrazi Jewelry daughter sells and visit and see "preggo girl" . then they headed back to the city at 10 today but it was so wonderful to have married daughter and son here because they wanted to be here!! Lots of talk time and loving and memories. laughed so much!!!

today for heart, I napped this afternoon - still eating reasonably and feeling good - got communion bread made for church tomorrow and now I am off to bed - late for me but should be asleep by 10:30.

darrens original surgery tome was 8 am we were to be at hospital at 6 , then thanksgiving night we got a call surgery was moved back no need to come till 9 for 10 surgery. i got a call fri at 620 were is darren lol. i told them surgery at 10 told to be there at 9. get second can you get here at 8 so thank goodness sara was on her way anyway with no coffee nothing to eat. we just got to the hospital in time, then exrays blood work , then waited for doctor till 11 he had surgery some where else, then one hour and a half surgery and then finally recovery we just got home at 430 . he has a neck drain and not in to much pain, but probably be home tomorrow, hope your thanksgiving was great sounds it, ours was awesome at saras, Have a great night

For my heart today... pure joy of having preggo daughter and Son-by-love here for celebrating this special Thanksgiving … good foods and reasonable choices and portions.

For my heart today - careful pacing of too many projects - I did have one wave of exhausted feeling - so just set down and put feet up and had protein drink and soon caught back up to myself. Blood sugar doing well and weight staying even - Taking good care of me!

linda you did good and congrats on father in law doing well to. darren is having his cartoid artery cleaned of plaque, so he has less chances of a stroke. nurse called and got all his info then said they would call about what time to show up friday morning, well phone was ringing and i have digital so it says hospital i pick up and i hear nothing , meanwhile daughter is calling on my cell phone . the house phone kept ringing and i kept answering and no one. finally i called them and they said phone trouble really loll, we need to be there at 6 am so early to bed thanksgiving night poor daughter is hosting at her house then bringing us . she leaves a half hour away so that is a lot of time in car for her. hospital is a half hour away , I am wishing you a special thanksgiving this year ,Hugs

Today for my heart - I studied the lettuce and greens in the grocery stores ALL were from the city in California that has the recall out - so looks like no salads this week - did buy some frozen chopped spinach for some smoothies.

Got my steps in and one flight of stairs - tomorrow we start cleaning house so will be extra nice for daughter visit on thanksgiving.

Some weeks it is hard to keep track of what day it is - retirement has eliminated some routines and in the winter, we don't have markets to keep us accountable- hubby notices it too - thinks he knows what day it is "in relation to when was time to share at the gun range - he and several buddys go and have competitions and good fellowship time. Not my idea of fun so am thankful I don't need to go with him. Hope I remember to get ready for church in the morning!! HaHa.

Today was a low energy day - three flights of stairs for laundry and for planning the guest room - I think I am making progress - especially if daughter will take a couple more totes to their house this coming weekend and make the decision to keep, store or sell the big treadmill that is down there.

For my heart - tried new recipe for Gluten free pancake - keto too so fewer carbs and delicious with pan scrambled eggs on the side. Lunch of Ground turkey planned was not good so had replacer lunch of fruit and cottage cheese and deviled eggs. Dinner was baked potato with chopped ham and sour cream and cheese plus side salad. higher in carbs than some days but think I am OK .

linda love that you have the turkey all set to go and will spend a nice thanksgiving with your daughter and her husband. Had a short walk it was warmer and sunnier but i just wasnt in it, actually i was afraid the lady with the two dogs was going to show and since i was having a little trouble seeing i cut my walk slightly short, i am finishing the last game of throne book 900 more pages to read, I have to hold it about nose high to read and it is heavy lol. Looking forward to tomorrow when darren will be home kinda hard to spend the whole week by yourself with no one to talk to, he comes home at 830 am goes to sleep gets up at 415 we eat supper no talking because he just got up and then he leaves for work at 5. i shouldnt say no . just not alot, and i have to almost whisper lol. Good for my heart today - just a took a quiet day - had no specific plan and just didn't do much! two flights of stairs to do laundry - am way down on pedometer reading thus far but will be in kitchen some later when I carve up the turkey I have cooked today- planning to clean a little and cook a little so I will be ready for daughter and Son-by -love who will drive up from their home Thanksgiving morning - I don't want to be in the kitchen all day so will prep as much as I can.

wow i will pray for your brother . right after my pacemaker my heart doctor got scared and put me on dioxin because i was having a fib. so talked to my regular doctor after a fib was stopped aand he put he recommended another medicine lighter and we slowly weened me off. later i had one episode that the pacemaker caught and I was supposed to have a conversion one heart doctor had new exciting technique to try .i was supposed to have procedure on monday and friday i found out he went to a new hospital, none of the other doctors there felt i even needed the procedure so i was going to be a guennie pig. havent had an episode in decades. scary stuff so happy you are having your cardio visit. sleep is so important . have a great weekend Hugs

I'm counting blessings too - younger brother [9yr younger and has survived BIG heart attacks x three or more] called tonight to confess he has been in pretty serious A-fib all week and med changes not helping - Wife drove him the 3 hour drive to city in the night last night and they saw the cardio Dr and they immediately put him to sleep and zapped him - back in normal rhythm all day. Not ready to lose another bother - can't believe it has been three years this month that my eldest gave up his fight with cardio and cancer - and #2 brother has been having some bad episodes since July - this family does not have very good genes!!!!

I got the clinic call today that insurance/VA will pay for cardio visit for me Dec 2 - so thankful!!! Pray with me to loose 5 pounds between now and then - That is my choice, not their orders - I just need to leave the ice cream along work my good nutrition plan!!! Would love to walk in there in ONE-derland less than 200!!

But I feel good and sleeping good number of hours per night - good steps - maybe should use the elliptical and bike but just not disciplined to it!

Linda hope you are well , My hubby passed his stress test with no other issues so he can have his operation, over the moon happy that it will happen soon. linda i hear you i am extra vigalent when i walk and darren is asleep . and i wont shower if i am home alone,i wish you knew how much was to much. every day is different , i know now walking when it is cold bothers me once in a great while but if i cough or breathe into my glove get some warmer air in then I am fine, didnt happen at 30 degrees but did at 45 go figure. I love that your daughter made some healthy bread.and woohoo on things ordered for christmas. the heart doctor called today now they have an opening at 830 am so darren will go right from work and only need to lose an hour time, hope fully he will stay awake for test and drive home, then sleep and work tomorrow night , well have an awesome night hugs

Silly me, I had the wrong week written down for daughter visit - it is 18 of DECEMBER, not this month - but they will be here next week for an overnight on Thanksgiving. She had fun adventure at her house of making gluten free bread in her bread-maker - really turned out good and she ate too much but at least was gluten free for her celiac and low carb for preggo .

So sorry for the confusion regarding Darren's tests - so hard to have the stress of tests on top of wondering about the physical problems and then the financial pressure too - Just get it done already!!! GRRRR.

for my heart today - I noticed the stairs were easier to do today - less chest tightness and muscles in leg working good - but then all the sudden I did get really tired and just sat and rested...so puzzling what seems to hurt and not hurt in all these activities - and always a bit more apprehensive when hubby is away for the day even with my phone in my pocket, Good food intake and content with accomplishments. Got some Christmas things ordered today and daughter helped get the essential oils ordered - some computer glitches and this was a one day only sale - Buy one, get one free! so am set for them for a while I think.

linda i am sorry I miss her too but I promise I already have told my daughter if I cant then she should send a message , I so hate for people to disappear. I do miss her and hope she is well have a nice visit with your daughter glad to hear she is doing well and January is just around the corner, so exciting, darren went for his stress test today . they told him they had to do an office visit first and wanted a 50 dollar co pay we dont have a 50 copay, she told him he had to come back when he had the money, then changed her mind. he spent 5 mins with doc and the doctor wanted him to get a choleseral test which he just had done last week and the stress test is wednesday and bring the 50 and another 50 for the test. I swear you could die and they want your money first, I was so mad. lol yesterday i made roasted fruit to but on yorgurt and ice cream so yummy used less butter and only two teaspoons of sugar and a drizzle of honey. roasted apples pears blueberries and cranberries so yummy , Have a great night and know that i cherish our times together Hugs

Joanne, I thought a bit about Bonnie after you called me by her name, I miss the time we had with her - I treasure the way she poured into my life and encouraged me and most of all, I fret a bit because we never knew what happened with her that she 'vanished" . I hope if something ever happens I cannot continue on sparks.. that I will/ or family will let you-all know where and why - if not here, at least check my page for a note of some kind.

For my heart today - I walked good steps 3500and ate well through the day -
Looking forward to seeing daughter tomorrow - she will be up in our county doing extra careful business meetings - she is not due till mid-January and has only gained 18 pounds thus far - so proud of her hard work.

bonnie i really bundle up out there and for me if i dont walk my knees and hips hurt, it is getting colder fast and I am thankful for the sun, Sometimes it is so bright all i see is my feet in front of me and have to walk slower and listen for cars in driveways. our kitchen light switch is broken and still waiting for brother in law the electrician to come over. i must be the only one on planet that has a living room lamp in the kitchen. tonight i made chicken legs they had breadcrumbs and husband was saying there were extra on the cooking tray and some on counter, sorry i cant tell the depth of things , told him nothing can be done unless he gets up and pours the exact amount of breadcrumbs on the dish that i will use to coat the chicken lol. glad you werent to cold when you lost power and used the time wisely, your doing great on your inside steps , Have a great weekend ,

Joanne, I am so thankful you can continue to walk in the sunshine - we are into dreary, fall/winter time here - cold and windy - even my little doggie won't go out to do his business - he takes a few steps then comes back in and goes to his pee-pad. one room has windows to be fairly bright so tht is where I go to do my scrapbooking or sorting papers etc then bright lights in the office but just no desire to be outside for walks and at 70, I really ache if I get cold so just stay inside.
for my heart - did two sets of stairs and walked 2800 steps inside, I'm doing better at going to bed earlier so am getting expected # of hours in bed - not all sleep but resting and many nights am sleeping really well. Thankful !

Good for my heart today - was time with my 'bestie" - a gal that has kids just little older than mine but she is 10 years younger than I am - but we are good for each other, understand each other's heart cries and especially close because we each have a son that walked away from us in adulthood. But she lives way up in the mountains so can't see her very often and an blessed with 3-4 hour visits about once a month.
Blood sugar and weight were both down a tiny bit also - life is good. Praying for your Mom and hubby medical adventures - be strong and of good courage with and for them. loved the report of a good day for your mom.

linda that was a cute message i understood some of it most of it, my mom was much better today slept in her chair all night made her own coffee and breakfast in thye morning able to walk around, we think the ultrasound and all the walking to the doctors may have put less pressure on her nerve and made walking easier again, I told my sister to put up her feet again, a couple times a day and then ask her to walk a little, no movement and just sitting is not good. so really thankful for a good day, i had a nice walk today until ladie with two dogs walked by both growling and snapping, even though it was her and a guy each had a dog both dogs hate me, meatloaf and mashed potatoes for supper , vegetable salad for lunch yummy oh well glad you had a good night last night no falling asleep at the computer again . linda love to hear that you are doing good but sorry about your moms passing, I just wish mine would ask for help instead of lieing, they did an ultrasound at the back dr no blood clots and now on to mri, if she doesn't cancel doesn't want to go in to machine to scary lol, darren has an apt monday for stress test then we will finally get him going, played phone tag with my sisters on what to do for mom all night tonight, we ill work it out. went on a frigid walk this afternoon one street was sunny and nice the other cold and windy, came home and warmed up good book so thankful for a warm home that elderly lady in my town still missing all week so sad and cold, made spaghetti and clams for supper , have a great night and a better tomorrow

This made me miss my sweet mama to read this - She has been gone 14 years and I still reach for the phone to tell her things or was thinkin about how to get her here for Thanksgiving … just little flashes of the past - so thankful I had such a good mom and had her close and was able to help in her care the last 5 years of her life. good for my heart today ...got in 3800 steps, blood sugar was good and weight steady at 207 - Sure would like to get it to drop lower! am really tired after town day so will head to bed early.

today i bundled and went for a walk even though it was rainy and only 30 sleeting. my mom is falling a lot now. pinched nerve in back causing problems, wont go to drs to get it fixed until finally made an apt for tomorrow. she keeps falling out of chairs and my sister who lives next door is having a hard time she tells her not to get up to call her but someone is stubborn and falls, we all think she needs an operation or rehab . my sister puts her to bed and finds her hours later on the floor so frustrating, anyway rest of day was okay walked and went to the library , made a nice supper . it would have been better but was on three way call to my sisters . then my mom calls like nothing is happening all happy, going to the doctor tomorrow. then my daughter called , lol tomorrow will be better i hope have a great day hugs

For my heart - today was Veteran's Day and I celebrated and remembered my Papa - and dressed warmly for attending the parade -

stuck to diet plan - low # of steps but should make up for it tomorrow when I go to bigger town for banking and will do big grocery store.

glad you got some play time its so important and glad you got to do it with friends, we went out for breakfast this morning small diner all natural food made there lovely english muffins, and had a egg sandwich with spinach and tomatoes on home made marble bread so very yummy, then we went grocery shopping where i ran into a old friend nice to catch up and funny me and hubby no arguing at all he said he was to tired . lol he worked 73 hours , this week , to much. tomorrow a trip to the library and oil man comes to fix whistle and darren has dr appointment. Good thing for my heart today - happy time spent in creative play - I am so glad to have finally done a "play day and scheduled myself for another next month - I used to do lots of arts and crafts and it has gotten lost in the last 10-15 years - time to play and enjoy life more and quit working so much of the time. Also wanting to finish up some projects from that far back and start some new ones and have fun!!!

Good food choices is more natural to me all the time, faithfully wearing my pedometer and purposefully takin a few extra steps through my day Recognizing I do need to be more serious about getting in more strength and range of motion into my days.

hi linda good steps went on a very cold walk this morning not yet 20 degrees, then home for warm cocoa and coffee. and sat close to pellet stove with a blanket. another company came and delivered 100 gallons of oil, so we are three quarters full until they come monday and fix whistle, darren went in for more overtime tonight and tomorrow morning when he gets home off to grocery store. Monday he has an appointment with our regular doctor to go over cholesterol test, then tuesday more over time, i get he wants to get as much money while they are busy but he is crazy , lol, hope you have good days and stay warm Hugs

i had a lovely crisp walk this morning. oil man came but wouldnt deliver much as he couldnt hear the whistle, I guess it lets them know when tank is almost full , I googled it and part is only 30 about 200 to put in. so that is what is happening monday, chicken soup is on the stove warming laughed cause i asked darren to bring home milk when he gets extra money and he brought home lottery tickets that were loser of course. lol he forgot all about the milk. i love all the veggies you are getting in, there is a sale on frozen ones this week so going to get a lot , cant wait well have a great weekend Hugs

I shouldn't have gone to the deep freeze and found the small carton of plain vanilla ice cream - but sugars have beenOK so will just enjoy the serving and not fret.

For my heart today - I still did my stairs but steps count is lower. Got in cabbage, avocado, romaine, a second cabbage and apple so there are my 5 fruit/veggies so good foods and keeping the saturated fats down

linda thanks for the prayers i will feel better when the date is set and then we can move on. tomorrow we are getting an oil delivery and then another load of pellets , the oil is just a back up, we used to have 4 or more deliveries of oil a year now with the pellets we are down to one, and the pellets are a lot cheaper, sunday we can hit the grocery store . i love to roast veggies and then i have a supply for stews and soups etc. I think i will add some pears and apples and roast with some cinnamon and can be added to oatmeal or cereal, or just for a nice snack, I made a chicken soup for tomorrow, so just reheat add more stock some seasoning and pasta and all set. your eggs sound so good. darren has ice cream every night and sometimes i get a small pint and it will last me all week .Hope you have a great weekend hugs

So glad all of Darren's tests are coming back good and he actually did a "work out" a couple of days - good for him, he will be thankful for those after the surgery. Tell him that Linda is Washington is praying for him!!
I am enjoying a quiet day - feeling content in my world in a new way lately - kind of like I have accepted this "aging" role I am in and "it is going to be OK".
For my heart today - getting in good veggies and fruits celery/parsley and onion/garlic into morning omelet Lettuce/tomato for lunch and green beans and bananas and berries on plan for dinner. No ice-cream this week since hubby chose cookie crumb flavor which has wheat in it. I don't need the sugar in it but compromise usually for just a half cup measuring cup but gluten makes me miserable sick and I wont ever KNOWINGLY eat it so no ice cream - am enjoying half of cup of cottage cheese with berries instead - much better for the blood suar issues!!!

Daughter just checked in so all is well in my world - have a great day tomorrow - Sure am lad we have each other to share our days with!!!

linda i loved that dress and i loved that they tore up all their credit cards we have non know just a ton of doctors bills . darrens pre hospital doctors appointment went well dr wants him to have one more test for cholesterol but his heart is good and all his blood work and numbers so surgeon should call soon and we will get this thing done, sooner than later meanwhile the last two days darren has been working ot. yeah!!! glad you got your steps in i got my walk lady from town still missing from friday hope they find her so sad. had turkey burgers for supper. and made darren huge breakfast after the doctors appointment, have a great night and a better tomorrow, . For my heart today - and my mobility - I did the double stair case at church!!! Feeling really proud of that!!!!!! Then walked every aisle at groc store. -remember this is small town store not a big one!!! 1200 steps for church and store!
This is daughter's one year wedding anniversary and they celebrated with homecooked steak dinner and then took big scissors and cut up ALL of their credit cards!!!! they are doing a Financial freedom study with video tapes etc - we are so proud of them!!!!
I celebrated them by wearing my "Mother of the bride" dress to church today - such fun!! Life is g ood!

had a nice walk its getting cold out , there is an elderly lady missing since friday . she went to olive garden with her caregiver said she had to use the rest room and just vanished, they searched 850 acres and cant find her and it is so cold out please pray for her. thank you, i cant stop thinking about her, she has dementia and is on medication, last time i was at grocery store i bought a small packet of freeze dried soup minestrone it was a dollar. i added beef , onions and tomatoes, and some roasted veggies i had boy was it good and cheap too, I hope you have a great week love the thankgiving thread you started hugs.

I had a nice walk this morning i had long sleeve shirt sweatshirt and vest on and sweatpants , i walk by a guy who had his kids outside with him all in tee shirts crazy . i am so upset an elderly lady in town has gone missing and it is so cold out two days now . hope she is found soon, quiet day as darren and josh were both sleeping all day . Good for my heart today - good calories for my "down day" and good liquids to flush our inflammation from yesterday - I think I was short on liquids and had leg cramps in the night - but always a balance to not drink too much to make up for it or heart failure is a concern --balance -balance - balance!!!

love that you visited with one of your day care kids so nice once and a whole i run into my ccd kids so warms my heart. darrens step mom took me to my pacemaker checkup I am there only patient med free Yeah!!1 I had no incidents and no irregular heart beats , Yeah for me. we had a nice visit , she offered rides when darren is not available that makes me so happy, she is super sweet. my walk was nice , and no damage from last night storm of 50 mile an hour winds. a few places in town lost trees though, we also lost power but only for a while. had tuna for lunch and flounder cauliflower and rice for supper so yummy, didnt gove out candy this year but there were a lot of kids running through the neighborhood even with the rain and winds, Have a great night and a better tomorrow, Hugs

We have had no kiddos stop for several years - I don't like Halloween so I don't miss it! Hubs always wants them to come so he can hand out candy - now he will eat all of it!!! We only et one variety bag and then I know I always have protein bars I can use if we were to get a bunch!

For heart - got 4000steps in and one flight of stairs - good food choices - including some ground turkey[ lean and I got it on sale!!] trying to get in more veggies...sweet potato, lettuce, tomato, cabbage, cranberry, apple ….got in 6!!!!

linda glad you got some good results, see all that hard work has paid off for you, way to go my friend . I was going to go for a long walk this morning but it was pouring with high winds so i walked for a half hour and was happy, the ground got a little slippery last lap. no sidewalks in our neighborhood and rain and leaves and then oil spills darren was asleep so why chance a spill so i came home hot shower a salad and ice coffee and a book i was happy, first year we are not giving out candy sitting here in the dark hoping the kids dont come. pouring and 50 mile an hour winds may keep them away but I feel bad will miss there sweet faces. Tomorrow is my yearly pacemaker appointment in the office louise darrens step mom is bringing me. he will drive to hospital after work to get his cat scan of abdomen and vein mapping then home to sleep as he has to work tomorrow night, well have a great night Hugs

Can you believe it has been a year this weekend since our daughter's wedding. She was sharing with me on the phone some of their anniversary plans - thrifty but so very meaningful for them!!! Sure pleases me to see their wisdom with finances - and yet the precious lovin things they do for and with each other and their extended family members. I am blessed!!

Going to keep pushing through on diet, mobility and positive living - todays appointment was a real encouragement to me!!! need to get a little more exercise in and not loose hope of keeping my mobility. Healthy blood reports and positive changes in pre-diabetes and 4#loss over 6 months on their scales was real good for me!!!

linda my son works crazy hours and doesnt help much around but will if we ask , he is going away on a cruise in December so I may be on my own for a time.He doesnt drive either, i wish i knew when surgery would be and more but waiting on more tests. today my daughter came by and made me go on two walks said i sit to much . her watch gives her stretches to do every hour and she can use it to make phone calls, also it gives her heart rate and ekg and yes tells time, she said all nurses have one , good for patients,she can put a timer on to ring so she knows to go to a room and do a procedure if she has two patients, pretty cool . salad for lunch and i made a healthy pasta with garden sauce , your plans for downstairs sound great we have a shower in our cellar plus washer and dryer and furnace room a rec room and then Joshs room. let me know how those plans go have a great night and a better tomorrow,Hugs

Sounds like you are getting plans made and that is good for the emotions as well as the physical aspects after surgery. Will you have physical therapy come to the house ? our insurance helped with that and it was good. Tellme about your son - if I may ask - does he o on your walks with you ever? help with cooking and lifting and things like that?
Hubby and I went downstairs together and looked, talked, planned the clearing of the spaces down there - made me hopeful that we will finally make good use of the space and enjoy having visitors once in a while with good bath set-up. Daughter and her sweet hubby come up to main bathroom for showers but would be so nice to have one downstairs! Will keep you posted about that dream and progress.

Good for heart today was cooking some delicious LEAN meat from a friend; he stairs up and down several times, and pills set up for the week. Dr appointment at 1 tomorrow for 6 month follow up of gleneral heart and diabetes stuff.

linda sounds like a nice day visiting a friend sorry the ride is so long but glad you got there before the storm and got your steps in. nothing like a visit to a good friend. we have oil heat here but the pellet is cheaper . stay warm at cozy we got rain coming and then much cooler temps next week, I enjoyed a nice walk today the birds were out in force and I managed to dress just right, so that helped, also started wearing two pairs of socks to cushioned warm my feet more . Later I sat outside with my ice coffee my dog at my feet and read for an hour, it wasn't sunny so it wasnt to hot by the front door, we made chicken and roasted veggies tonight , I like when we cook together. we made plans to get the christmas tree down from the attic and decorations, there is no real floor up there and my son or me is not sure where to step for safety so we will store christmas in saras old room till its time to decorate, 2 months with no lifting will be a challenge but well work through it one day at a time, Hugs

Thankful for our electric heat - don't have to load the wood or pellet stove - have one both those routes in my life but electric is so much cleaner, less allergies and definitely less work!!! Our forecast is 20 degrees tonight and terrible north wind is really howling!!!

For my heart, today I did the emotional support thin of visiting my dear friend - lives up in the mountains so a bit of a drive for me but went well and was so good for both of us!!!

Still got in my minimum 2500 steps and good diet choices so am happy.

wow poppers there good but the burn stays to long. my 13 year old puppy just gets carrots for treats, but sometimes we pay more for the dog and cat food then for ours. we still have three quarters of the cake i made, darren had a test today it went well , but now the wait to see what the doc says when he gets results, had a lovely walk watched neighbor tree get cut down and put in chipper as I did my laps. some cat was lose in the neighborhood, young pretty and crying some lady was trying to find his home, i hope he finds it. half way through my book and put flannel sheets on bed and got a half of ton of pellets for pellet stove so i guess winter is here, well have a great day and a better tomorrow, Hugs

Always frustrating to have poor light in the kitchen - I can manage other rooms kinda of dim but I want my kitchen and office desk to be BRIGHT!!!!
Our grocery shopping after church was routine milk, eggs, bread plus distilled water for my CPAP, fresh potatoes, radishes; yogurts on sale for hubby, and puppy treats for training times or when we leave the house he gets a treat and promises of up " coming back soon".

hubby made some "poppers" for him with jalapeno peppers, cream cheese and bacon - I don't do spices so he gets ALL of them!

linda sorry about the blahs today ,!!! we had a ton of rain and wind and dark, to top it off my overhead light in the kitchen the switch broke, so we cant see to eat etc. cooking is a challenge, brother in law the electrician is coming for new part when he has time that mean when the cows come home. we went groceries in the rain, we had buy one get one cauliflower and blueberries , so for supper I made a rack of ribs preseasoned yuk, and cauliflower potatoes and carrots roasted, so yummy smart hubbie said look i am eating cauliflower even though i dont like it lol . I also made a cake just mix and pumpkin and i added a few blueberries that were going bad and some morsels , read all afternoon and relaxed, Have a great week , Hugs

These men in the kitchen!!! Mine made his own popcorn this afternoon - got om local grown at the Farmer's Market and it is good but cooked in oil then he puts oodles of butter and salt on it so I don't eat it beyond the five kernel taste test. chicken breast and sweet potato lunch and yogurt and cheese gluten free sandwich for dinner - Really have the blahs today!!!

linda today we had sausages and eggs for breakfast, I was going to make a cake and add pumpkin to the mix no eggs and oil healthy ,i got a beautiful walk in. slept in a little, yesterday the cat got sick on my pillow before 6 am lol so i needed that extra sleep, for supper i made steamed chicken and brocolli and added it a knor chicken rice package, told the hubs we needed to eat better and healthier ,etc. i just heard pans and the oven go on. the husband just made brownies. the last of my eggs and oil and chocolate chips . I cant win, lol oh well have a great night and a better tomorrow . its going to rain all day tomorrow so hopefully there are some good movies on, Hugs

linda yes i pray that you were closer but it does my heart so good t talk when we can . I went for a lovely walk today got my flu shot , and made sausage and peppers , Of course peppers and sauce came from our garden . i am way luckier than I thought, Darrens surgeon is a great guy , He also operated on his dad and step mom and said most of his problems are just bad genes , But he is trying to cut back on smoking, he is really grumpy for the first couple weeks of quitting so he may need a trip to the hospital before after I break his nose only kidding lol, but it will be interesting and all worth it if he can stop, we are slowly getting stuff ready for stuff he wont be able to do later, and good that son still lives with us and daughter will be done with nursing school in dec. and only a half hour away, God is good. glad you are doing well and getting great numbers. linda glad that nasty gluten is down, i made chicken tonight also, glad your getting your rest. playing phone tag all day with medical facilities about darrens procedure, he has blockages in both legs left is worse, his aorta is also blocked, so monday ct of his neck, friday vein mapping and ct of pelvis and groin, nov 4 preop appointment with primary doctor than we will figure out if he needs two surgeries one on neck and one on legs. one on legs will be two stages a graph will be used and blood flow will be diverted ,one week in hospital and then out of work two months, there goes the retirement money i saved. God will provide, I did go for a nice walk today , I am trying to get my flu shot tomorrow, Hugs have a great night and better tomorrow

For my heart today - enjoyed baked chicken breasts and salad. resting well and using the CPAP at least half of each night - have pretty much gotten the inflammation down from the gluten and sugar I had on Sunday

went for my walk today good thing i need to relax. husband had high bp at hospital yesterday all day and the nurse said has it been high before and that was the end of that,my husband feet are also tingling since the procedure and he called the office but no call back. no call from hospital to see if he is well today. we still have no word on how the procedure went . and the receptionist at the office made an appointment for a 930 cat scan when he has an ultra sound around 50 miles away at 830, linda i feel my head is going to explode , lol good thing I trust in the lord. i just dont know why he created such incompetent people. lol i hope you had a great time with your friend. linda hope you had a fun day with your friend Up at 5 on way to hospital for 6 procedure at 830 was done till 10 40 then he had to lie flat for 4 hours , so I had to feed him lunch laying down because he was starving me too i didnt eat. lol, then he sat up for an hour and then on our home at 330. long day , after the angiogram the brought him back upstairs for an ultrasound , and he has to go back for another ultrasound monday morning and a cat scan monday, I need to call the doctor because no one came and talked to us about anything, I need to know what they are looking for and if they are going to fix anything. who wants to pay for all this and not know why, Oh well still had an okay day , tomorrow will be way better hugs have a great night

hi linda disappointing day today darren went for his cat scan only to find out it was cancelled because he needed blood work, so aggravating. then he wend back to his doctor to get the paperwork and then back to the same place he was supposed to get his cat scan done for the blood work. why couldnt they call the doctors office or us when they didnt have it, what a waste of time. Oh well , He is still have the cath angiogram tomorrow, . i let you know how it goes hope you had a good day i did besides that , Hugs

I will pray your legs will be strong when that precious grand baby comes , I hope the gluten didnt upset you to much no fun feeling sick over something you ate, Happens to me too I love coffee but sometimes my stomach doesnt or the hot flashes i get later are no fun. I was just thinking yesterday that I hope i can see Saras beautiful face at the wedding, someone posted pictures on facebook of the venue where sara will marry so pretty, and they are putting a new heater in. in case its cold next october that will be a blessing, I put away all my summer clothes today, I am making 16 bean soup from leftover ham we had frozen, I enjoyed my walk, every day is a blessing. Hugs for the frustration of Drs and finances - I am so blessed that I have the VA taking care of medical needs - they might be slow but so far have done good care and I only have a small co-pay for the heart med prescriptions.

I feel frustrated that I cannot do anything to bring money into our household - I can help with the markets so not hired help there and do the book keeping and try to stretch every penny of food and clothes and the like - I get scared about my legs getting weaker and harder to walk but one day at a time and keep positive. I just want to be able to help when that grandbaby comes in January!!!

For my heart today - I did not do anything very positive - infact it has been a BAD eating day and scales will probably show it tomorrow - I just get rebellious sometimes and was offered a piece of berry pie and ice cream at the party and I enjoyed every bite of it!!! Immediately got the high sugar fidgets and the bloat from the gluten but I still enjoyed the taste for a while!!! Will be better again tomorrow - just have to have an occasional day like this.

I am so glad for no more treatments.Sorry about your knees but glad you got to visit her at work plus go to walmart. i hope you get good rest tonight . i find it funny that each day we feel different, my back has been tight and some days its great,today was very sunny on my walk and I had a hard time walking in the shade . there were a lot of sticks and leaves about so my walk was slow but i got it done.!!! It dropped down to 30 last night . and when I walked at 1 today i wore a sweatshirt and my winter vest it was only 50. Got two calls yesterday from hospitals that are doing my husband procedures they want there money . so sad as you pay insurance all year and still need to pay thousands for procedures, sad world. I have no way to touch base with Bonnie - I did send private message to her Facebook account too but she is not active there either.

We are so relieved to get lab results on Daughter's surgery - clear boundaries and all clear - no further treatment needed - just has to heal from the deep excision - wound looks real good again tonight and her business day went well. Praying good rest on her tonight and then she will have the three hour drive back to her sweet hubby and home tomorrow.

I am exhausted tonight spent an hour at her job fair sit and then did Walmart for hour++
Knees hurting really bad - will take Tylenol to rest well tonight. Another busy but fun day tomorrow - going to an apple cider pressing party - then must get communion bread made a week early this month - Pastor will be out of town next week so doing it a week early..

linda if you can is there any way you can check on bonnie , Last post she was going to the drs and then nothing thanks , Hope you are having good days I am , walked , half way through with my book, spent the day making pizza , it comes out better when i can see what i am doing lol, but homemade dough with bread maker help and turkey hamburg and onions and peppers from garden just a little cheese, looking forward to tonight all my favorite shows are on and then the cold comes in frost advisory for tonight have a great day and a better tomorrow Hugs

linda i so miss bonnie too, i hope all is well, we had a massive storm last night . lots of trees down in the area one right across the street from us, some folks lost power, I had a hard time sleeping and the pets were restless too, both guys were at work. 50 mile an hour winds and heavy rain, acorns and limbs falling all night, my husband came home 4 am as no power at work and called 911 to report many trees and power lines down in the road. my son had to ride his bike in the mess in the early morning hours came home soaked, but was are all okay . What did I do for heart? good food choices …. even if larger portions - stress eating is still a bug-a-boo for me and Daughter had her pre cancer mole deep and wide excision today so I did a bit of pacing and lots of praying... she was still numb when we talked alst night and I have not heard yet this morning how the night went … Those good food choices incuded good choices at the grocery store - I feel so positive when I come home and know I only brought home healthy foods!

Praying for your Darren, for his health choices and the Dr visits and tests - praying for wisdom and positive treatment plan and that Darren will take this all seriously and happily ein to take good care of himself for you, and for your future.

I have had a quiet day - lots of letters, notes and sharing life and love with friends and family. Still have to work on paperwork for hubby's Medicare wellness checkup tomorrow. Also one more email to write - anniversary note to our son -14 years since he married and told us to get out of his space, life and relationship - I keep trying and loving and praying that this will be eased in time and efforts "before it is too late" .

Happy with my morning numbers - blood sugar and weight stayed in limits after the weekend away from home and different foods and stresses and happinesses with our daughter and family.

Hi Joanne, back from my glorious weekend with pregnant daughter - so fun to spend time with her and the fantastic hubby - even had an afternoon visit with his folks too who we really enjoy too. good food, talked non stop, looked at baby things, talked of dreams and work and wonderful new contract she just landed - lots of fun and delight.

hi girls darren is scheduled for a cat scan soon and a angiogram on next tuesday looks like 80 percent blockage in his neck , mr smoker and i dont like veggies and wont exercise , and eats all the wrong things and wont take his heart meds. oh well praying here, and waiting, i had a nice walk this morning a good grocery shop just wish i had more money for veggies, but darren has his cookies and ice cream . lol , we still have peppers and eggplants from the garden, been reading well i hope you both are doing well, Hugs

hi girls a 53 minute walk a lot of reading . chicken cacciatore in the crock pot I added a couple sausages well because they were there and a lot of potatoes and carrots peppers and onions and of course our garden sauce it came out good. I also made some whole wheat bread that came out okay and good for snack tonight, dishes in the dishwasher and laundry done hope you are both having a great successful day, Hugs

Well we got down to 20 degrees last night - but not precipitation so just COLD!!! thankful for our electric heat and ability to pay the bill so we stay comfy. Tomorrow will end the tomato picking I think - taking final ones to daughter when we go down Saturday - some for them and some for extended family there
