Yes, for the most part. We ate out on our way home from my surgeon's appointment (discharged yesterday!!). I made excellent choices. This evening, I had a salad with turkey (left over from Easter Sunday).

I love my avocados! esp with boiled egg and touch of mayo - like egg salad!

I agree with micro wave eggs - just be sure you "poke the yolk" to avoid the explosions

I also ALWAYS have boiled eggs in the fridge available for meals or snacks or grab and take with. I like an kind of veggies sautes and into an egg scramble in stove or in micro.

Other good-for-me is cheese sticks or baby-bell, precook link sausages or slice summer sausages - [read your labels for sugar added] cans of tuna or salmon or turkey - watch [sodium content] natural nut butters, half cup portions of berries in snack packs in the freezer. Add to plain yogurt, kefir or cottage cheese.

camie i do eggs in a cup i spray a coffee cup with pam add some roasted potatoes or veggies if i have them . sometimes add a piece of bacon or a small sausage, or a little ham add an egg or two and microwave for a minute stop at 30 to stir and watch that it doesnt explode. it sometimes takes a little longer but it is quick and easy , i will even do a sandwich for breakfast . I need to have a good breakfast as i work for ups and am an older individual, we do a lot of walking bending and lifting, you are doing great for your first week here keep it up

I want to have a way to be accountable for all my health efforts and thought this thread might be a good place to bring forward and do my week's accounting for you to see and learn from, encourage me and just keep me focused through this more hectic summer.

Accountable this week: Fasting blood sugars @5:30 am Wt after voiding in morning, Carbs for day [goal is less than 50 and continue to learn to increase fiber intake] CARB:PROTEIN:FAT Percents [goal near 20:30:50 with less than half the fat being saturated and NO Trans fats]

Not from an eating perspective - I was bad (but I made the conscious decision to do that). Exercise-wise though - still pushing it to the max as usual! :-)

I try to reflect each day on how I can do better.
I could have paced myself better. Have to work on that.

Even if we lose the race, we are still a winner (just a slow winner).

My goals are to:
eat healthy and keep my calories in the 1200 to 1300 range.
walk 1 mile and do yoga for 30 min daily.
get the rest/sleep I need.
lose 10 lbs.
and enjoy life!
