Good afternoon team! It's just been a normal Sunday of going to church this morning. This afternoon I'll be visiting a friend who has cancer and is not doing well.

Rosalyn, I'm so sorry to hear about your DDIL. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Celeste, thanks so much for the information about frosting/filming glass. I'm not familiar with Miles Kimball but will do a Google search.

Wishing all an enjoyable Sunday!

Good morning all. Day of relaxation for me also (although I did get in my gazelle exercise this morning!!)

I'll be watching football this afternoon & doggie sitting for a neighbor. AND, I will sit & x-stitch while watching the game -- just as I said (earlier in the week) that I would do!!

Everyone have a GREAT day!!!

Rosalyn, My sympathy goes out to you and your family for your loss.

Sunday is a day of rest, but I will be trying to get more organized today. For some reason I have not been getting everything done as I had planned. I started writing down on a list what I want to do and then I cross it off when done. The list is getting longer without anything being crossed off. Maybe I will rewrite the list and do at least two things. I can't seem to feel the sense of accomplishment I need to continue. I am probably in a slump.

Everyone have a productive and happy Sunday.

Kay – I had been following ELIZRN’s battle to get her son’s body back, too. A heart breaking story and she writes with such honesty and openness.

Kathy – congratulations on the new granddaughter. Your trip sounds just wonderful.

Judy – glad you are up to speed – computer wise – again. I bought a new hard drive for my desktop a few weeks ago and am amazed at the speed. The old one was about 9 years old and had no memory left. Now I alternate between desktop and MacBook. Spend way too much time online!

Celeste – craft fairs are fun this time of year. Like you I get more “I can do that” kind of ideas than anything.
Welcome to all the new members emoticon

Back from the craft fairs. Only one of them was really good. I found a couple of gifts & lots of "oh, I can do that" ideas emoticon

Pat - I bought the window covering from Lowe's. I'll have to get my neighbor to help me with it because you need 2 people. Oh, it's not a big job, just that one person needs to hold the piece up while the other sprays both sides....... And while looking through some mail-order catalogs last night, I ran across some that's just "peel & stick"....... I may check into that first. I found it in the Miles Kimball catalog - I'm sure you can find it online with them.........

I'm Sparking for awhile, then going walking, grocery shopping and later car shopping with a friend today.

Celeste - how do you "frost" a window? The two panels next to my front door have some designs in them but are mostly just clear glass. I don't like that anyone can look in and around. Putting "frost" on those panels sounds like it would be a perfect solution. I've tried in the past to come up with an idea but haven't found anything. Also I hope you enjoy the craft fairs today.

Irene - have a great time this weekend.

Kathy - congratulations on becoming a grandma again. Glad you had a good visit and welcome back!

I didn't know until now about ELIZRN. I'll checkout her blog.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Kay, I have been following Elizrn's battle to get her son back (he died abroad) and the heartbreak she's gone through. You are right. We often get so wrapped up in our own worlds and worries we forget others who are suffering for any number of reasons. Death is always hard, but a child, and one who is not "home" is especially hard.

Kathy, your trip sounds heavenly! I so would like to see other parts of our world, and doing so with a new baby as a bonus is especially great.

It is cold here this morning. My morning walks have been dampered by the cold and the dark. Not sure gaining an hour will help the cold, but maybe I can walk in semi-light. I do need to do this for myself. I find it is the most relaxing time of my day (sounds strange, but true). I have time to think and just put ME in the first of the line.

Have a great weekend, and don't forget the time change tonight.

Good morning all. Sunny & started out at a cool 21°

Leaving in a few minutes to take in some of the local craft fairs. Told my neighbor I have to be home by noon for football games - she knows my priorities emoticon

Kathy - I lost weight the 2 times I visited my son/DIL & grandson in Germany because of all the walking --- not to mention my bedroom being on the 3rd floor emoticon

Waves to all. Everyone have a GREAT day!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't been on for awhile. Was in Sweden for most of October. Visited my daughter who had her first baby. I now have my fourth granddaughter. She is wonderful. I hated to leave them both. Had a wonderful time in Sweden. Ate some really good stuff and saw a lot of Stockholm. Had lunch in the Parliment cafeteria, my son-in-law and his father work for parlimentarians. Took a tour of the Palace, saw the crown jewels, and toured the City Hall where the Nobel Prize reception and banquet are held. Both were very beautiful. Best part, except for seeing my new grandbaby, was that I didn't gain any weight! I attribute some of that to the fact that we walked alot. Amy and Jonathan don't have a car as many other Swedes, take subway and buses, walk and ride bikes. So we walked alot. Now that I have completed getting over jet lag, I am ready to catch up with Spark stuff!!

I can do all things thru Him who gives me strength.

Oh me...first snowfall this morning. It wasn't bad and it didn't stick, but I know it is coming.

Celeste, I always wanted to learn to do counted cross stitch. Is that what you do?

Linda, just jump in the pool. There are so many of us in here, you can't possibly sink!

Nell, are you having a special event tonight or do you always cook for groups?

Hey Mo, YOU are a gift yourself. So glad you are here and leading the troops along the right paths. You, too, Kay (and enjoy your son!)

Judy, we have a travel trailer we haven't used much in a couple years, but we keep thinking when I retire we will use it more. Do we not need to plan on that? I really like getting away, but it is a big hassle to hook it all up and unwinterize and winterize it each year.

Irene, the woods sound heavenly...do you have a cabin?

Anne, It is so hard to not have power. We all get so spoiled with what is so readily available, that when it goes away, it is a big hardship. How did our ancestors ever survive?

Pat...wish I had an indoor track. I think I'd be more faithful if my walks were not dependent on the weather.

Smooches....Have a wonderful weekend!

Good morning team...Sounds like everyone has a full day planned. I'm packing for our weekend trip to our woods and lake. We're getting things ready for the deer hunt. Had to buy a new furnace for the camper cause the motor went out. Hopefully we can keep warm this weekend.

Good morning all. WELCOME to the group, Linda. As said before -- you can do it. One step at a time. It's a habit you need to start emoticon

Another "house" project today. Going to put some window "frost" on my 2 north-facing windows. I really want to keep the curtains/blinds open, but the view of that neighbor's house is less than appealing. She's a very nice lady, but has no pride in home ownership.... So hopefully this will help emoticon

Good morning team...

I walked on the indoor track this morning. Not only is it raining but it's also cold. At least I got an earlier start this morning.

Nell - yes it does take a lot of time but as you said, it's better than food.
Jeanne - four more months until you retire isn't long. That's exciting!
Joann - I'd like to trade today's weather with you. *smiling*
Mo - thanks for sharing the quote from Oprah's newsletter.
Anne - glad your power is back on and you're warm!
Linda - welcome to the team.

Ok; I am getting ready to stick my foot in the water; but alas, I don't swim. So I need all the help I can get. I love this site; I just need to come more often and participate. I just can't get my motor going. I eat most of the right things, but I don't walk like I should. I love to walk and I have a 2 mile circle in my neighborhood; but I don't have the motivation to do it. Tomorrow will be the day; if is raining, I will use my treadmill. I will do at least one mile tomorrow, I promise.

Naomi,
Glad your power is back on. We were lucky in that the tree branches that came down missed the power lines. The are still hundreds of thousands without power in the northern part of the state, and school for some has been cancelled all week.

Good morning all. Naomi - I too am glad your power is back on. Any amount of time without power is a hassle!!!

I finished the window treatment "job" yesterday. Wasn't really a big deal because I only have 2 windows in the living room & 2 windows in the dining room. Of course, that means less windows to clean too - LOL!! I love my house!!!

Today will be spent sorting/donating/organizing things in my room & closet. I really want to get back to x-stitching. So if I concentrate my efforts THIS WEEK on getting everything in order in the house, then NEXT WEEK I can just sit & stitch!!

Waves to all & you guys have a GREAT day!!!!!!!!!

I love that this site is so active and full of friendly news. I am certainly sorry, though, when any of you lose loved ones or have illnesses.

Penny, is SIL your sister or son in law? Either way, it is a tragedy. FAR too young to lose a loved one.

Naomi, if my power went off for that long I'd freeze to death in my bed. We have gas heat, but it is electricity run. Glad you finally got back on the grid, though.

Pat, I'm thinking when I quit working (4 more months!) I would like to volunteer at the local school, too. Budgets are so tight, it is hard for them to hire the extra help. Besides, I remember when I taught school (last lifetime) how great it was to have extra hands when there were so many students who needed my help.

Nell, I LOVE your new ID photo! What a darling baby, and you look amazing as well.

I am dealing with lots of fires this morning, so will sign off for now. Time to hit them with a water hose (or at least devote some time to solving the sources.)

Have a great Thursday.

My name is Jeanne (pronounced Jean ee); I live in eastern Washington State.

Pat, spark DOES take a lot of time, doesn't it? I was a member for 3 years before I figured out the sparkpoint thing and I feel like I have to catch up. Drives me crazy that I could have had over 100,000 if I'd filled everything out from the first. But it is SO addicting! Better than food, though.

Naomi, Glad your power is back. It really is a drag going without. When we had the 3 hurricanes here in Florida, mine was out over 20 days total.
My foot is pain free today. Going to give it one more day and then get back to cardio. Have been doing some strength exercises.
Hope everyone has a Sparkling Thursday.

Nomi going without power isn't fun. I'm glad you have it back!

I'm going to try to get something done around my house today and spend a little less time on Sparks. I've become addicted to it but can't continue staying on the computer for as many hours as I have been. Wish me luck, LOL!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
